The Power of Resilience, Family, and Finding Purpose02 Apr 202500:50:07

Special Guest: Crystal Kokal

In this heartfelt episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I sit down with my sister, Crystal Kokal, for a deeply personal conversation about our childhood, the values instilled in us, and the way those experiences have shaped our adult lives. We reminisce about growing up on a remote farm, where our tight-knit family of four created unbreakable bonds. Those formative years taught us the importance of resilience, adaptability, and connection—qualities that continue to guide us today.

Crystal shares how her love for planning and travel led her to a career in the travel industry, driven by a desire to help our parents reconnect with distant family. But life, as always, had its twists and turns. She opens up about raising two incredible sons—one who navigated complex systems due to his brilliance and another who overcame medical challenges to thrive. Through it all, she remained steadfast in her commitment to giving back, recalling a major fundraising effort where she helped collect thousands of blankets for Project Linus to support children in need.

We also explore how our mother’s love for cooking influenced Crystal’s entrepreneurial journey. She candidly shares her transition from being a full-time caretaker to rediscovering her passion and skills in a new way. The challenges of major career pivots—especially after global events like 9/11 and COVID—led her to embrace entrepreneurship, launching Sassy Frost, a thriving business specializing in custom sugar cookies and decorating classes. What started as a creative outlet has blossomed into a fulfilling venture that blends artistry, teaching, and community building.

Throughout our conversation, we reflect on the ways childhood experiences shape our mindset, the impact of strong family values, and the importance of allowing children to explore their strengths without rigid expectations.

Key Takeaways:

  • Childhood experiences and family values shape lifelong resilience.
  • Career pivots can be opportunities for self-discovery and reinvention.
  • Parenting requires adaptability—every child has a unique journey.
  • Giving back to the community can be deeply fulfilling.
  • Entrepreneurship can emerge from passion and necessity.

Trusting Intuition, Embracing Authenticity & Breaking Free from the Past26 Mar 202500:54:53

Special Guest: Elizabeth Peak

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this powerful episode, I sit down with Elizabeth Peak, a multifaceted entrepreneur, to explore the deep connection between authenticity, personal growth, and business branding. Elizabeth shares how embracing intuition and aligning our inner and outer selves can unlock creativity, confidence, and success.

We dive into her work in photography, branding, and styling, where she helps individuals showcase their essence through personal branding. Elizabeth explains the importance of feeling safe in one’s body, not just for self-expression but for genuine confidence in business and life. As we navigate an AI-driven world, we also discuss the shift toward personal branding and why real human connection is more valuable than ever.

Elizabeth shares her personal journey of growing up in a highly conservative and isolating environment that resembled a cult. Raised with rigid gender roles, she was taught that women are "owned" first by their fathers and then by their husbands. This belief system led to an arranged marriage and an early life filled with restrictions that stifled her autonomy. Through deep reflection and personal growth, she realized how these teachings left her vulnerable to control and manipulation.

We discuss how conservative communities can inadvertently set women up for abusive relationships by discouraging boundary-setting and self-agency. Elizabeth opens up about how her father’s traumatic childhood shaped his views on women, perpetuating generational cycles of dysfunction. However, she makes it clear that her journey has led her to a place of self-awareness and healing, allowing her to set strong emotional and physical boundaries. While she has moved away from certain aspects of her religious upbringing, she acknowledges that her journey is about personal choice, not rejection of faith.

Key Takeaways:

  • Intuition is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth.
  • True confidence comes from aligning your inner self with your outward expression.
  • Childhood experiences shape our beliefs, but we have the power to rewrite our narratives.
  • Setting boundaries is essential for healthy relationships and self-worth.
  • Personal branding is about authenticity, not just aesthetics.

5 Simple Steps to Live Into Your Best Life27 Aug 202500:28:56

While these steps are simple, they may not be easy. To complete them, you need to be willing to be honest with yourself about where you are and where you want to be. In order to gain clarity and alignment on where you want to be, you need to consider all that is involved with this dream.

Pick an area of your life: career, relationships, financial, health & wellbeing, spiritual, etc.

  1. Get honest with yourself on the reality of this aspect of your life. WARNING: It may feel uncomfortable, but facing reality will help you get where you want to be faster.
  2. Consider how you want this part of your life to be.
  3. Identify the steps that will help you get from where you are to where you want to be. Keep them simple and small enough to see fast progress while being meaningful so you can create momentum.
  4. Notice how you are feeling about the direction you are heading. If it feels off or wrong, assess what may be going on. Spoiler alert: Just because something feels challenging does not mean it’s the wrong direction…this could be a test to see if you really want what you think you want. Feel into it. Think about it. Consider the potential results and determine if they are in alignment with where you want to be. Pivot if you need…it’s ok!
  5. Celebrate your micro-wins each day. By noticing them and acknowledging them, your RAS will bring more of these moments to enjoy each day.

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode, I sit down with Steven Puri, founder and CEO of Sukha Co., a company dedicated to helping people improve focus and work-life balance. Steven takes us on a fascinating journey through his career—from interviewing newsmakers as a teenager to working as a junior software engineer, then breaking into the world of Hollywood visual effects. He shares behind-the-scenes stories from blockbuster films like Independence Day and Braveheart and his leadership experience at 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks, where he oversaw major franchises like Die Hard, Wolverine, Star Trek, and Transformers.

We dive into the evolution of filmmaking, exploring how action sequences and CGI have changed storytelling. Steven reflects on the thrill of working with top-tier action writers and what he misses most about Hollywood—mainly the creative spark of original storytelling. But ultimately, he realized that working on endless sequels wasn’t fulfilling. That’s when he shifted gears to something more meaningful—helping people find clarity and productivity in their lives.

Steven gets real about feeling overwhelmed and procrastinating, particularly in the mornings, and how he developed strategies to combat those struggles. His journey led him to build a focus-driven community and create the Sukha app, rooted in the Sanskrit concept of deep, fulfilling happiness. He shares how productivity isn’t just about getting things done—it’s about building a life filled with joy, connection, and purpose.

We also talk about the power of serendipity and how success often comes from unexpected opportunities.

Key Takeaways:

  • Overwhelm and procrastination often come from a lack of clarity—getting clear on what you truly want is the first step.
  • Serendipity plays a huge role in success; staying open to life’s twists and turns can lead to amazing opportunities.
  • Creativity thrives when the mind is engaged in something else—capture those fleeting ideas before they disappear!
  • True productivity isn’t about grinding harder—it’s about building a life that allows for joy, connection, and meaning.

We wrap things up with a lighthearted chat about Christmas traditions, favorite holiday movies (yes, Die Hard is one of them!), and, of course, chocolates.

Tune in and discover how you can bring more focus, fulfillment, and serendipity into your life!

Mastering Success: Cliff Skaja on Leadership, Growth & Resilience05 Mar 202500:13:51

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

Hi there, and welcome to Live Into Your Best Life! I’m your host, Paulie Skaja, and today’s episode is an intimate look into the wisdom my dad, Cliff Skaja, left behind. Through his everyday actions and simple yet profound phrases—what I like to call Cliffisms—he shaped the way I see the world, and today, I want to share them with you.

My dad wasn’t just a mentor; he was my hero. Even though he’s been gone for nearly 30 years, his lessons still guide me, and I hope they inspire you too.

Key Takeaways from Today’s Episode:
  • You can do, be, and have anything you want—if you truly want it. Stop living for others and start defining success on your own terms.
  • Everybody puts their pants on one leg at a time. No one is inherently better than you. I learned this firsthand when I unknowingly had lunch with my company’s CEO and regional VP!
  • Never judge a book by its cover. Some of the best opportunities and relationships come from unexpected places.
  • Life is too short to live for other people. I spent years trying to fit in, only to realize that embracing who I truly am brings the most joy and fulfillment.
  • Treat people the way you want to be treated. Even when faced with bullies or difficult people, kindness and understanding will always lead to better outcomes.
  • Never ask someone to do what you’re unwilling to do yourself. My dad led by example, even when it came to cleaning the workplace bathrooms. Leadership is about action, not just words.

These lessons aren’t just for reflection—they’re a call to action. How can you apply them to your own life? Let’s continue the conversation and inspire each other to live into our best lives.

Thanks for tuning in! If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to subscribe and share it with someone who could use a little inspiration today.

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I sit down with Lucy Davis, an accomplished entrepreneur and contractor with over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial property management. Lucy has built a thriving career in the construction industry—specializing in roofs, siding, windows, gutters, and solar shingles—all while breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Lucy’s story is one of resilience, adaptability, and unwavering determination. After losing her husband in 2023, she not only took on the responsibility of running her business but also dedicated herself to guiding her four children into the world of entrepreneurship. She shares how she is instilling in them the values of financial responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance by actively involving them in the family business.

During our conversation, Lucy opens up about a life-changing moment when she realized her work-life balance had reached an unsustainable level. When her daughter tried to connect with her, but she was too engrossed in work to be present, Lucy knew something had to change. She made the difficult decision to shut down her business to prioritize her family and mental well-being—a move that, while challenging, ultimately led her to a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Lucy also reflects on her upbringing, growing up in a family-run cleaning business that started small and grew into a million-dollar company. Her mother, having escaped a cult, built the business from the ground up, teaching Lucy the importance of resilience and entrepreneurship. Now, as a marketing director in the construction industry, Lucy continues to redefine her success while ensuring she maintains the balance she once struggled with.

Throughout our discussion, we dive into the power of taking ownership of one’s success, navigating career pivots, and making tough decisions that align with our personal values. Lucy’s journey is a testament to the importance of adaptability, grit, and building a legacy that extends beyond financial success.

Key Takeaways:

  • Success is earned, not given—Lucy teaches her children the value of hard work and financial responsibility.
  • Work-life balance is critical—making tough decisions to prioritize family can lead to greater fulfillment.
  • Resilience is built through challenges—Lucy’s journey from personal loss to professional reinvention exemplifies true perseverance.
  • Owning your success means taking action rather than waiting for recognition.
  • Career pivots, even the difficult ones, can open new doors to growth and opportunity.

This episode is packed with inspiration, wisdom, and actionable insights for anyone looking to navigate life’s challenges with strength and purpose. Tune in and be inspired by Lucy’s incredible journey!

Hey there, I’m Paulie Skaja, and welcome back to Live Into Your Best Life! In today’s episode, I’m diving into a message that I believe the world truly needs to hear. With so many people facing career uncertainty and job transitions, I’ve decided to share the final chapter from my book, Next Stop Your Dream Job: Navigating Your Journey to Professional Happiness.

This book was born out of a powerful session I facilitated with job seekers exploring new career paths. The insights we uncovered helped half of the attendees land new roles within just two months. These lessons remain just as relevant today, and my hope is that they inspire and guide you to your next opportunity.

Here are some key takeaways from this episode:

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all path to success. Some people follow a structured route, while others take a winding journey—and both are completely valid. Trust your unique path.
  • Consider your childhood passions. The way you played as a child can offer clues about the kind of work that will bring you joy and fulfillment.
  • Cookie cutters are for cookies. Traditional career paths aren’t for everyone, and new opportunities are constantly emerging. Embrace your individuality.
  • Ready, fire, aim! Perfectionism can hold you back. Instead of waiting for the perfect plan, start taking action and refine along the way.
  • Stand out in a crowded job market. Find what makes you unique and communicate your value. Talk to people, network, and let your strengths shine.
  • Obstacles are opportunities. Challenges help us grow. Every struggle you overcome strengthens you for the future.
  • Let others make their own mistakes. True leadership isn’t about solving every problem—it’s about empowering others to learn and grow.

If you’re searching for clarity, a career shift, or just inspiration to take the next step, this episode is for you. Tune in as I share powerful reflections and actionable advice to help you navigate your journey to professional happiness.

Let’s shake things up and figure out where YOU want to go next!

Listen now and start moving toward the career and life you truly want.

Buy Yourself: Unlocking Authentic Success12 Feb 202500:49:48

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I sit down with transformational life coach Adele Kamel Whitley to explore her groundbreaking Buy Yourself philosophy. Adele shares how so many of us spend our lives chasing dreams that aren’t truly ours—whether they belong to our families, society, or the expectations we’ve unconsciously absorbed. But what happens when we finally buy into ourselves?

Adele’s journey started in sales, where she realized that the most successful deals weren’t just about selling a product—they were about belief. She saw firsthand that people struggled to close deals because they hadn’t fully bought into themselves. This insight led her to expand the concept beyond sales and into personal transformation: What if we applied that same idea to our own lives?

She takes us through her personal wake-up call—a life-changing moment in Mexico when a simple values exercise revealed just how misaligned her life had become. That realization set her on a course of radical self-honesty, leading to a life and business built on true alignment and purpose.

Throughout our conversation, we dive deep into the process of reconnecting with our inner selves, learning to trust our intuition, and taking action from a place of authenticity. Adele challenges us to sit with discomfort, embrace self-awareness, and rewrite the limiting beliefs we’ve carried since childhood.

We discuss the power of reframing past experiences—not erasing them, but changing the meaning we give them. She reminds us that our past doesn’t define us unless we let it, and by shifting our language and thoughts, we can create an entirely new reality.

Key Takeaways:

  • True transformation begins when we buy into ourselves and stop chasing someone else’s version of success.
  • Self-awareness is just the first step—lasting change happens when we take aligned action.
  • Our subconscious beliefs, often formed in childhood, shape our present decisions. But we can rewrite them.
  • Journaling, self-reflection, and NLP techniques can help us change our internal dialogue and build a more empowered future.

This episode is an invitation to step into your power and start creating a life that excites you!

Ageless Growth: Embrace Your Evolving Journey05 Feb 202500:29:48

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I, Paulie Skaja, dive deep into the concept of age and how we often let societal expectations dictate our milestones—like voting, drinking, or retirement. I challenge those traditional ideas and share my personal belief that life is about continuous evolution. There's no "magic age" for success or when to stop working; instead, it's about shifting your approach as life changes.

I reflect on the wisdom of my parents: my mom's emphasis on doing things the right way, and my dad's advice to chase what I truly want, not what others expect. These lessons shaped my journey from childhood to today, as I’ve always followed my passions, whether in education, business, or career. The key takeaway here? It’s never too late to pursue your dreams, and success can come at any age.

I share highlights from my early entrepreneurial days, from selling crocheted goods at 10 to my later career in IT and project management. My diverse professional background includes working in sales, marketing, coaching, and nonprofit work. Through all of these experiences, I’ve learned that believing in yourself is the first step toward achieving seemingly impossible goals—whether it’s launching a book in months or creating a positive community impact.

What matters is continuous growth and embracing opportunities, no matter how unknown they might seem. I urge you to reflect on how your past experiences can guide your future path. Success isn’t about perfection; it’s about doing things the right way for you, and always striving to live your best life.

Key Takeaways:

  • Age doesn’t define when you should achieve milestones—continuous growth is key.
  • Trust your unique journey and pursue your passions, regardless of when you start.
  • Believe in your ability to create lasting change, no matter your age or stage in life.

In this heartfelt episode, I reconnect with my dear friend Amy Quarberg, whom I met over 20 years ago during an intensive coaching program. Our shared experiences in NLP, HNLP, and hypnosis training created a bond that has stood the test of time, and life’s synchronicities recently brought us back together.

Amy shares her inspiring journey from a traditional nursing career to her current role as an integrative therapy nurse at the VA Medical Center's Center for Integrative Health and Healing. Here, she blends Western medicine with holistic approaches, utilizing guided imagery, essential oils, auricular acupuncture, and mindfulness-based movement to address the mind, body, and spirit.

A lifelong dancer, Amy talks about how movement and grace are central to her healing practice. She recalls moments of profound clarity and joy that emerged from physically aligning her body and soul through dance. These experiences inspired her to teach others how to reconnect with their bodies and embrace the spiritual and healing power of movement.

Our conversation touches on the transformative power of presence and self-awareness. Amy emphasizes the importance of helping others find their spark, often through role modeling and guiding them to uncover limiting beliefs rooted in childhood. By addressing these emotional triggers, she has witnessed mental and physical transformations that lead to lighter, more authentic living.

We also dive into Amy’s advice for embracing life’s unexpected turns and following inner guidance. Her story of surrendering to the rhythm of life—whether through intuitive movement or trusting the process—reminds us of the healing power of authenticity and joy.

With over 12 years of experience in project management, Alyssa shares her unique approach to leading teams with a human-centered mindset and an agile framework. As a professional rooted in psychology, Alyssa helps businesses foster collaboration, streamline systems, and drive results by understanding the deeper needs of people and facilitating meaningful change through communication.

She also delves into the challenges of shifting from individual performance to team-based outcomes, reflecting on her time in retail management. There, she saw firsthand how strong collaboration could boost both customer experience and team morale.

In our conversation, I reflect on my leadership journey and how my views on workplace culture evolved. Early on, I had a team member tell me they didn’t come to work to make friends, which challenged my perspective. Over time, I realized that fostering authentic relationships among team members is vital because we spend so much time together.

We also discuss the power of networking and building human connections without the expectation of immediate rewards. Often, these relationships come full circle in ways that lead to future collaboration or valuable advice.

Lastly, Alyssa opens up about her own career pivot during the pandemic, when she left a secure job to pursue consulting. Her journey serves as a powerful reminder of the value of trusting your instincts and pursuing what truly excites you.

Take Action: The Key to Creating the Life You Deserve01 Jan 202500:25:34

Are you ready to stop dreaming and start achieving the life you truly deserve?

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

Welcome to Live Into Your Best Life! I’m your host, Paulie Skaja, and today’s episode is all about taking action — the critical difference between dreaming and achieving. Lack of action is the number one reason people fail to accomplish their goals, and it’s time to change that.

Many of us have aspirations for new jobs, skills, or lifestyles but fall into the trap of waiting for opportunities to come to us. As I share in this episode, meaningful change starts with intentional action. This realization became clear to me when I published or co-authored three books in a single year. It wasn’t something I planned out meticulously—it happened because I seized opportunities as they arose.

Through anecdotes and practical advice, I discuss why people resist change and how understanding your “why” can help overcome this inertia. Whether it’s quitting a habit like smoking or stepping into a new career, clarity about what’s holding you back (known as secondary gain) is crucial.

Key takeaways:

  • Change requires effort: Doing what you’ve always done won’t lead to new results.
  • Break down your goals: Identify what you’ll start, stop, and continue to achieve your vision.
  • Focus on your why: Align actions with personal values, not external expectations.
  • Stay flexible: Progress often involves pivots, and that’s okay.
  • As we move into a new year, avoid setting rigid resolutions. Instead, adopt an action-oriented mindset that evolves with your needs and priorities. Everyone has the potential to achieve incredible things. With the right mindset and strategy, you can too.

Hi there, and welcome to Live Into Your Best Life! In today’s special holiday episode, I dive into one of my favorite topics—miracles and the changing seasons, both in nature and life. As this episode airs on December 25th, I couldn’t think of a better time to reflect on the wonder and beauty of this season.

I explore the cycles of life and nature, drawing parallels between the changing seasons in Minnesota and the phases of our personal journeys. From the crisp beginnings of autumn, the coziness of winter, the renewal of spring, to the vitality of summer, I share how each season brings unique opportunities to pause, reflect, and grow.

I also discuss how miracles—those unexpected yet delightful moments of divine intervention or synchronicity—can shift our perspective. By viewing life through a lens of possibility, we can uncover breadcrumbs of inspiration leading us toward the next amazing chapter in our lives.

This episode is an invitation to embrace each moment fully, regardless of the season of life you're in. Whether you're in the "spring" of youthful discovery, the "summer" of vibrancy and growth, the "fall" of harvest and mentorship, or the "winter" of reflection and wisdom, there’s always a chance to live intentionally and create your best life.

Key Takeaways:

  • Miracles often lie in the way we choose to see the world—look for the synergies and synchronicities around you.

  • Each season of life offers its own gifts. Recognize where you are and lean into its opportunities.

  • Living fully means showing up every day with curiosity and purpose, even if your energy varies.

  • Retirement isn’t about stopping—it's about freedom to continue contributing meaningfully.

  • You can live your best life every day by noticing and acting on the possibilities right in front of you.

Let’s explore this season of miracles together—one moment, one choice, one miracle at a time. Happy holidays!

Stephanie shares her fascinating journey from a background in kinesiology and personal training to specializing in hormonal health and nutrition for women aged 35 to 60. With her expertise, Stephanie has helped countless women navigate the challenges of hormonal changes, from weight gain to emotional struggles, and the lack of effective advice from traditional healthcare.

We dive deep into how metabolism, hormones, and nutrition play a vital role in managing the transition through peri-menopause and menopause. Stephanie’s approach empowers women to see this phase not as something to fear, but as a transformative time in their lives. She emphasizes the importance of unlearning diet myths, prioritizing self-care, and adopting sustainable habits that support both mental and physical health. A particularly touching moment in our conversation is when Stephanie shares a success story of a client’s husband thanking her for “giving his wife back”—a reminder of how health journeys not only impact the individual but their families as well.

Embracing Life’s Transitions: Astrology, Coaching, and Personal Growth11 Dec 202400:53:00

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I’m joined by astrologer Patricia Herlevi, who shares her incredible journey into astrology and how it became a pivotal tool in her life and work. What began as a casual interest in horoscopes evolved into a deep professional path after a transformative experience at a psychic fair. Now, Patricia uses astrology alongside intuitive coaching and cognitive behavioral techniques to help others navigate life's challenges.

Key takeaways from this episode:

  • I learn about astrological transits, including the Saturn Return (ages 28-30), the midlife crisis (around 44-45), and the Uranus Return (around 84), and how these pivotal moments trigger major life changes in relationships, career, and personal growth.
  • I discover the growing focus on the divine feminine within astrology, particularly through the use of asteroids that represent feminine archetypes.
  • I realize how astrology, often seen as mystical, has strong scientific roots, drawing on the work of astrologers like Galileo and Nostradamus, which empowers me to approach astrology with a sense of grounded understanding.
  • I understand how aligning with lunar cycles—like setting intentions during the Scorpio new moon and reflecting during the full moon in Taurus—can guide my personal growth and evolution. Keeping a journal of moon phases helps me track my progress and intentions.
  • I’m reminded that growth, like the transformation of a cocoon into a butterfly, often requires discomfort and effort. Whether through astrology or coaching, I recognize that I must do the work to evolve and embrace change instead of resisting it.
  • I hear about the role of astrologers and coaches—they can guide me, but I must take responsibility for my choices and actions to create lasting transformation.

Tune in for a thought-provoking conversation on how astrology and coaching can be powerful tools for self-awareness and personal growth and reach out to Patricia to learn more.

Heart-Centered Leadership & The Power of Purposeful Coaching with Sarah Davidson04 Dec 202400:43:24

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, I sit down with Sarah Davidson, an Agile trainer and coach whose heart-centered approach to coaching inspires me deeply. Our conversation dives into the impact of global connectivity in Agile coaching, allowing us to bridge continents and collaborate with shared values and goals. Sarah’s dedication to creating a lasting, meaningful legacy through her coaching is evident, as she emphasizes fostering alignment and purpose within teams and organizations.

We discuss how powerful, open-ended questions like “What else?” and “What’s next?” allow for genuine, self-reflective responses, avoiding the defensiveness often provoked by “Why?” Sarah explains how this method encourages a safe, non-judgmental environment, which empowers individuals and teams to reach their potential while prioritizing well-being.

Another key theme is teamwork in modern workplaces, where generational dynamics bring both challenges and growth opportunities. We explore the concept of reverse mentoring, where senior members learn from the fresh perspectives of younger colleagues, fostering respect, adaptability, and innovation. This blend of generational insights, Sarah and I agree, can drive resilience and cohesion within organizations.

When it comes to leadership, we highlight qualities like curiosity, active listening, and validation—skills that inspire and nurture growth within teams. Effective leaders don’t just share their opinions but create a space where all voices are valued, fostering a “ripple effect” of trust and confidence. Sarah explains how small, supportive gestures from leaders can profoundly impact individual growth and contribute to a more inclusive workplace culture.

To round out our conversation, Sarah and I reflect on the importance of self-awareness for younger generations entering the workforce. Cultivating an understanding of one’s thoughts, emotions, and narratives helps them face challenges with resilience and live with purpose. This episode is packed with insights into fostering meaningful connections, driving collective success, and embracing growth in both personal and professional lives.

Gratitude Every Day: Transform Your Life One Thankful Moment at a Time27 Nov 202400:08:22

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in

Hi there, I’m Paulie Skaja, host of Live Into Your Best Life! In this special Thanksgiving episode, I reflect on the transformative power of gratitude—not just during the holiday season but as a daily practice. Many of us only focus on thankfulness at the end of the year, but what if we embraced gratitude every single day?

In this episode, I share how gratitude naturally weaves through my life—from setting the tone in the morning to wrapping up my day with thankfulness, even in tough moments. I reveal how envisioning my ideal day helps it unfold as I’d hoped, how I prepare for meaningful conversations, and how gratitude deepens my connection with others and my higher power.

But gratitude isn’t about elaborate rituals or journaling (though that’s great if it works for you!). It’s about finding small moments throughout the day to pause and appreciate. When we shift our focus to abundance instead of lack, we start attracting more of what we want in life.

Key Takeaways:

  • Gratitude can be a simple and natural part of your daily routine.
  • Setting an intention for your day helps you navigate it with clarity and purpose.
  • Focusing on what you have—and expressing it to others—creates more opportunities for growth and connection.
  • Small acts of gratitude, practiced consistently, can transform your mindset and outcomes.

Your Gratitude Challenge:

Between now and the end of the year, find one moment daily to pause and feel gratitude. Capture it if you’d like, but more importantly, notice how this practice changes your perspective and what new opportunities arise.

Let’s wrap up this year with a spirit of thankfulness and set the stage for an incredible new year. Tune in now on Apple or Spotify, subscribe, and leave a review to let me know how this episode resonated with you. Share it with a friend, and let’s keep growing together!

Remember, every day is a chance to live into your best life. Enjoy the journey!

Leaps of Faith: Embracing Change and Empowering Leadership20 Nov 202400:43:41

Special Guest:  Natasha Speets

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of "Live Into Your Best Life," I had the pleasure of welcoming Natasha Speets, a remarkable leader and founder of a global training organization. Our connection dates back to 2020, when Natasha served as my teacher, inspiring me with her ability to cultivate a community of positive, like-minded individuals.

Natasha's journey began as a teacher for children with special needs, eventually evolving into a coach and trainer specializing in leadership and agile methodologies. We explored her unique experience using dolphins as therapy animals, highlighting how interactions can significantly influence personal development. Natasha advocates for self-awareness and empathy in leadership, emphasizing the importance of recognizing rather than eliminating biases.

We dived into the crucial distinctions between management and leadership, discussing the delicate balance leaders must maintain between control and empowerment. Natasha illustrated how starting with a clear vision and taking small steps fosters confidence and collaboration within teams. In the current leadership crisis, where meaningful change often conflicts with organizational pressures, empathy and understanding of the broader ecosystem are vital.

The conversation also touched on my own journey into Agile coaching. Recognizing a gap between my coaching skills and Agile methodologies, I immersed myself in Agile literature and sought to create an online community for discussion and growth. The pandemic accelerated this initiative, allowing me to reach a wider audience. However, I soon realized the necessity of building a dedicated team to tailor our programs effectively.

A memorable anecdote involved coaching someone navigating a challenging relationship with their cat. Instead of focusing solely on the cat's behavior, we explored deeper emotional issues, reinforcing that true coaching is about personal growth.

As we wrapped up, we emphasized the importance of open communication in parenting, building a foundation of knowledge for our children, and encouraging them to make informed decisions. I encouraged listeners to follow their passions and make smart decisions, always keeping an open heart and mind. Join us as we continue this journey of growth and exploration together.

Embracing Change: How Small Choices Lead to Big Transformations06 Nov 202400:15:11

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

Welcome back to Live Into Your Best Life! I'm your host, Paulie Skaja, and today, we're diving into one of the most important, yet challenging concepts: change. Many of us crave different outcomes in our lives—more energy, better health, stronger relationships—yet often resist the very changes needed to bring them about. It’s a journey I've personally embraced, especially as I work toward improving my health alongside a naturopathic doctor.

In this episode, I share my own struggles with food sensitivities and the tough realization that I had to make difficult but rewarding adjustments. For me, that means avoiding all products with cow’s milk and American flour. Small slip-ups can mean restarting the process, but it's taught me valuable lessons about commitment, consistency, and self-compassion.

Key Takeaways:

  • If you want change, you must choose change. Simply put, doing the same things won’t get you different results. Progress requires stepping into the uncomfortable.

In this episode of Live Into Your Best Life, host Paulie Skaja explores the concept of "what if" and how it can either propel us forward or hold us back. She delves into the impact of naysayers and the internal "what if" scenarios that often paralyze us with fear. Paulie reflects on the idea of "shoulds" from previous episodes, explaining how these are influenced by external expectations rather than our own desires.

Using the metaphor of crabs in a bucket—where one crab's attempt to escape is constantly thwarted by the others—Paulie illustrates how negative influences and self-doubt can prevent personal growth. She encourages listeners to reframe their "shoulds" and "what ifs" by focusing on what aligns with their true aspirations rather than external pressures.

Paulie challenges listeners to consider the positive outcomes of their "what if" scenarios. For instance, if you're contemplating a career change or a new relationship, she suggests imagining the potential success and growth rather than fixating on the risks of failure. By playing out these scenarios, you can better assess their likelihood and impact.

The episode encourages embracing the unknown and taking actionable steps toward your goals. Paulie invites listeners to dream big and explore their potential, urging them to view "what if" as a springboard for possibility rather than a stumbling block.

Paulie explains how those little frustrations and annoyances, whether during everyday moments like driving or in the workplace, can provide valuable opportunities for self-reflection and growth.

She encourages listeners to pause when feeling triggered and ask, "What can I learn from this?" Paulie also reminds us to celebrate when we see these behaviors in others that we've already overcome, as it’s a testament to our personal growth.

The discussion extends to professional settings, where Paulie talks about people who exaggerate or present misleading versions of themselves. Instead of calling them out, she suggests modeling authenticity and relying on real data to inspire others to follow suit. The episode underscores the idea that the reflections we see in others—whether positive or negative—are powerful tools for self-development.

Paulie concludes by encouraging listeners to fully embrace and honor the positive feedback they receive. By recognizing the greatness others see in us, we can continue to grow while also helping others see their own potential.

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of the Live Into Your Best Life podcast, host Paulie Skaja welcomes Angie Kyllo, a former colleague who has transitioned from project management in the medical field to becoming a certified end-of-life doula. Angie shares her inspiring journey, which began about a year ago after hearing a podcast about end-of-life doulas. Her personal experience with her husband's terminal illness highlighted gaps in hospice care, prompting her to seek a role where she could offer more comprehensive support.

Angie explains the role of an end-of-life doula, emphasizing the importance of providing personalized support to individuals and families as they approach death. This support includes both practical tasks and emotional guidance during and after the dying process. Her personal experience with loss deeply influences her approach, focusing on continuing support beyond the immediate aftermath of death.

The discussion highlights how Angie's project management skills—such as listening, organizing, and coordinating—have seamlessly translated into her doula work. She envisions integrating these skills further and hopes to teach others to become doulas while advocating for more open conversations about death in society.

Paulie reflects on her own experiences with grief, sharing how support from a priest helped her family cope with her mother's passing. Both Paulie and Angie stress the importance of recognizing and addressing ongoing grief rather than assuming it ends with the funeral. They discuss how grief can resurface unexpectedly and how societal norms sometimes overlook the ongoing need for support.

The episode also touches on preserving family stories and memories as a way to honor loved ones. Angie and Paulie share personal anecdotes about maintaining connections with deceased family members through storytelling. They emphasize the value of end-of-life planning and organizing important documents ahead of time to ease the burden on loved ones.

Finally, the conversation offers advice on approaching sensitive topics like end-of-life planning with family members and highlights the benefits of involving an end-of-life doula. They encourage listeners to embrace change, follow their own paths, and honor their true selves, concluding with information on how to connect for further support and advice.

Mastering Decisions: The 10-10-10 Method11 Sep 202400:09:55

Free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of "Live Into Your Best Life," host Paulie Skaja shares decision-making techniques designed to help listeners navigate various life choices. She introduces the "10-10-10" method, a tool she's used for over 25 years with coaching clients. This technique involves evaluating a decision by considering its impact in three time frames: 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. By envisioning how a decision feels in these intervals, individuals can gain clarity on whether it's the right choice. For example, deciding to sell a house might feel exciting initially, but over 10 months, the market conditions and personal circumstances could change, influencing the decision's appeal. Conversely, choosing not to sell might feel secure at first, allowing for more clarity and stability over time.

Paulie also discusses the "coin toss" method, a simpler, more intuitive approach. This involves flipping a coin to make a decision and then paying attention to one's immediate emotional response to the result. If the coin suggests pizza for dinner but the gut reaction is negative, it indicates a different desire. This technique helps individuals align with their true preferences without overthinking. It's particularly useful for straightforward decisions and provides a neutral, judgment-free way to access one's instincts.

Both techniques aim to assist listeners in making choices that align with their genuine desires and prevent self-sabotage. Paulie emphasizes the importance of using these tools to live one's best life by making informed, heartfelt decisions. She encourages feedback from her audience and invites them to share their experiences using these methods. As the episode concludes, Paule expresses her hope that these tips will be valuable to her listeners and invites them to subscribe, review, and share the podcast to continue receiving weekly insights.

With over twenty years in the healing arts, Sheri shares her journey and valuable insights on achieving a balanced and fulfilling life.

Sheri discusses a pivotal moment in her career when she transitioned her physical therapy practice to a cash-based model during the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift, though met with resistance and challenges, was essential for aligning her work with her personal values and finding peace. She reflects on how NLP has significantly impacted her life, particularly in helping her reprogram internal beliefs and achieve greater balance and congruence.

The episode explores the necessity of personal and professional pivots for growth and alignment. Sheri emphasizes that living one's best life requires ongoing self-discovery and realignment, especially when facing internal conflicts or changing circumstances. She underscores the importance of understanding and reprogramming the subconscious mind, which is shaped by early life experiences, to overcome limiting beliefs and foster personal transformation.

Sheri shares her own experience of overcoming a turbulent high school past at Beverly Hills High, attributing her positive turnaround to the strong, supportive reinforcement she received. She discusses how recognizing and changing behavior patterns can lead to significant personal growth and highlights the value of shifting from blame to self-awareness.

The conversation delves into the impact of breathing techniques for managing stress and resetting emotional responses, emphasizing the importance of taking pauses and re-centering oneself. Sheri explains how breathing influences the autonomic nervous system, crucial for managing anxiety and stress.

Sheri also addresses the concept of secondary gains, where individuals may cling to negative patterns for attention or significance. She contrasts this with personal empowerment and growth, drawing on her experiences with hypnosis and coaching to illustrate how deeper emotional work can drive real change.

At the end of the episode, Sheri invites listeners to connect with her through her website at Inbalancewellness.net or via phone +1-530-470-0410 for coaching and hypnosis services, expressing her commitment to helping others achieve transformative results. Stop ’Shoulding’ on Yourself28 Aug 202400:12:10

Paulie's free giveaway https://www.paulieskaja.com/opt-in1

In this episode of "Live Into Your Best Life," host Paulie Skaja delves into the pervasive concept of "shoulding" on ourselves. From a young age, we're often told what we should do, leading us to internalize these external expectations and live our lives accordingly. Paulie challenges us to reconsider the origins of these "shoulds" and explore whether they truly reflect our own desires or are merely echoes of others' voices.

Paulie shares insights on how to shift from feeling obligated to do things to embracing a sense of choice and empowerment. For instance, rather than feeling pressured to take a walk for health reasons, we can reframe it as a personal decision to enhance our well-being. This mindset shift from "I should" to "I get to" can profoundly change our relationship with daily tasks, making them feel more rewarding and aligned with our true goals.

Throughout the episode, Paulie encourages listeners to evaluate their routines and habits, questioning if they are genuinely serving their current life ambitions. By pausing and reflecting on whether our actions are in tune with where we want to go, we can free up time and energy for what truly matters to us. This approach can be applied to various areas, from health and wellness to career and relationships.

Paulie illustrates how this reframing can transform obligations into opportunities, creating a more positive and enjoyable experience. For instance, instead of feeling forced to connect with certain people, we can choose to invest time in relationships that genuinely enrich our lives. This not only lightens our emotional load but also opens up new possibilities and insights that we might have overlooked.

As the episode concludes, Paulie invites listeners to stop "shoulding" on themselves and start embracing what they genuinely want to do. By doing so, we can create a life filled with more joy, freedom, and alignment with our true selves. Paulie also encourages feedback from listeners, inviting them to leave reviews, share the podcast, and subscribe for more weekly inspiration. Until next week, she wishes everyone an adventurous journey towards living their best life.
