One last episode. The apostles discuss the movie that started this journey, getting into patristic theology and the need to remember rightly. Not much else to say, except thanks for making this whole experience so wonderful. We're excited for what comes next!

As the apostles go from Destroy All Monsters to All Monsters Attack, talk about tonal whiplash! At last, the Avengers of Godzilla movies. Before you write off the episode because of that description, Chris and David discuss why that comparison might actually be accurate, along with gatekeeping in the fandom and the shift in tone, and meaning, in the Godzilla series. Kaijuvengers...assemble!

When you have a movie with a giant ape and his mechanical clone, it only makes sense to invite Alex of Monsters vs. Men to monkey around. It's the movie Chris has been waiting for: Son of Godzilla, Minilla's infamous introduction into the Godzilla universe. The apostles find a lot to discuss this time around, between Godzilla's parenting skills, creation care and eschatology, along with the philosophical concept of contractualism. Ahoy, mateys! Come onboard with Chris and David as they set sail to the Devil's Island to discuss the 1966 Godzilla film, Ebirah, Horror of the Deep. Does Jun Fukuda's shift in tone work for the duo, or do they walk away from this one crabbier than ever? Grab your swimsuit and towels, because this episode is a beach!

Gargantuas, Gadamer, Yu-Gi-Oh-My! David and Chris finally get to one of the most famous kaiju films of all time: War of the Gargantuas. Not ones to shy away from controversy, they discuss the hype surrounding the movie, along with the application of the Cain and Abel motif to the two giant monsters, not to mention getting into detail about their respective analytical approaches to these monster flicks. Chris also does his best (see: worst) puns yet!

In light of everything happening in the United States, Chris and David felt one last episode of Building a Bridge was needed, and they invited Fae to join the conversation regarding racism, both in the Godzilla fandom and the country at large. Well, look whose back. Back again. TKAP's back...and...well...I'm not sure if you should tell a friend about this one. Before they dive back into the Toho Kaiju Cinematic Universe (TKCU?), David and Chris discuss some of the media they consumed during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a reflection on the final season of the Clone Wars AND thoughts on the fandom's reaction regarding Godzilla Vs. Instead of the usual fare, David spends the episode catching everyone up to speed (rather clumsily, he might add) regarding the birth of his daughter and the ordeal he and his family have gone through in the NICU. Discussing just war theory, sex, and everything in between, they laugh. They cry. They might even have the best idea for Godzilla vs. Kong's plot. It's not too late, Adam! Do a few more reshoots!

Chances are, at one point, he's the one who did the heavy lifting! Join us as we discuss his history of loving Godzilla and how that translates to being a part of the fandom. Let's be honest, everyone. Mothra vs. Godzilla is a classic. But ever since someone pointed out that's KingGoji on the poster, we haven't been able to think about anything else. Joining the guys this episode, however, is Benjamin Chaffins (@thebigbadben90 on Twitter). Hijinks ensue. Some slight censoring of language. Oh, and Chris finally gets a movie date right! (Kinda.)

Thanks to Henry and his "White Behemoth" gift, Chris and David visit the year 1980 to witness the genius that is GAMERA: SUPER MONSTER! And by genius, we mean, one of the worst films we've had to sit through in a very long time. But this was also the first time the two hosts had ever met (after seven years of friendship!), so needless to say, it's a fun time. Changing things up a bit, the "Building a Bridge" series will showcase different people in the Godzilla fandom and feature not only their thoughts about the franchise, but also their thoughts about the community and what we can be doing to encourage and uplift one another. This episode, David interviews Unite_Godzilla_Fans (not his legal name), and...well, you'll have to just listen to find out what happens!

Joining the podcast is the one...the only...Henry the Host, from It Came from a Monster Movie! And we talk about the Toho psychological horror, MATANGO! Despite being plagued with technical and editing issues (thanks, Zencastr!), they managed to "Take Three" this bad boy, and it's a mush-listen on all of your portabella podcast devices. Oh, and here's a fun-guy joke for you. How do you tell poisonous mushrooms from edible ones? You give them to your little brother to eat first. (As of this episode, David is officially fired from writing episode descriptions.)

After a brief discussion about the fandom and gatekeeping, David and Chris dive right into the fight of a lifetime: King Kong vs. Godzilla. Will they enjoy the comedic changes to Toho's kaiju films, or will it be another film to collect dust? And more importantly, are you getting tired of these rhetorical questions yet? Maybe by the next episode, David can come up with some better descriptions.

Watching Varan may have been a little rough, but things seem to turn around with this week’s episode about Mothra. Has Shinichi Sekizawa managed to figure out how to pen the perfect kaiju flick? And what happens when Chris and David watch the first film in this series to have explicit Christian imagery? You know you want to listen!

Four episodes in, and we finally get to a film both David and Chris have not seen yet. Not only is this a new experience for both co-hosts, but they also discuss the Japanese and American versions of the film. Will they find Varan to be worthy of being called Unbelievable? Tune in to find out!

This episode is colorful in more ways than one: “Rodan” is Toho’s first film released in color…and David spends some time having to edit out his slips of the tongue. Whoops!

While Gojira may have impressed Chris, what will the verdict be over the less-favorably viewed sequel, Godzilla Raids Again?

In this first episode, hosts David and Chris dive into the Godzilla “cinematic universe” with the seminal, yet underappreciated, film, Gojira.
