The Running Dead is a one shot scenario developed by our own Justin James wherein we pit contestants against a slew of horrid and merciless creatures as they make their way towards salvation!

This Zombie game show is the love-child of popular works like the Hunger games, The Walking Dead and Running Man, bringing elements of all of them into an exciting table top RPG adventure!

As our heroes entered the inside of the mountain, the elevator began it's descent once again into the mines below. The three shared a knowing look...

Beneath lay danger; beneath lay halls of untold horrors, creatures that crushed frail bones and maimed even the most seasoned warriors. Monsters that lived in shadow and beings that had never tasted the light of day. Tight corridors and narrow chasms lined with the remains of warriors and their failed partnerships.

Below lay death and an end for all that had come before and all that would follow.

Softly the wheels of the platform creaked as they nodded to each other and stepped forward, ready or the next leg of their journey.

Dr. Dex Dalton is many things; scientist, cosmic hero, son, health food-nut … but above all he’s…. well he’s in marooned.

When we last left Dex he had just been transported back to Earth 6 Billion Years since he had left it. Dex along with his friends Sly Fitzgerald and Liam Walker had been zapped home by the mysterious and eccentric Dr. Jay Bank who brought them all back to Numenera in order to set the world right from the desperate clutches of an unknown evil. The events that transpired after that are a mystery to us but whatever happened, it’s clear that a long time has passed between then and now…

Having been cursed by a particularly mean space witch name Methusa Kingle; Dr. Dex Dalton has been marooned on a destroyed parcel of land that floats within the black and violet void of “The Strange” for quite some time. Upon that floating island sits the house that Dex Dalton now resides; a bizarre and mysterious home simply called The Crimson Host. His salvation however lies within the cryptic message given to him when he received the Witch’s Curse,

“Help those in need in worlds beyond this or else you remain in the violet abyss.”

Utilizing a parting gift from his friend Brandyjack, Dex Dalton has built a machine that harnesses the power of a transport stone to move between worlds and help those who need it, as the Witch suggested.

Dex, along with his shape-shifting lizard companion "Prodi," now travel from world to world, dimension to dimension in search of a way to help those in need, hoping that helping the right beings may just get them off this floating prison and away from the bizarre and foreign dimension called “The Strange.”
