Ivan Trail is a member of the ERCF (Enraged Rabbit Carrot Feeder) team. former automotive and heavy equipment mechanic, machinist, and now an aircraft structures engineer. Ivan's path took a unique turn when he discovered his passion for 3D printing.
Ivan's adventure began four years ago when his sons gifted him an Ender 3 for Christmas. Inspired by Jon from Proper Printing, Ivan quickly immersed himself in the world of 3D printing. This journey took a significant leap forward when he built a Voron 2.4 kit, transforming his hobby into a deeper passion for creating and upgrading 3D printers.
In this episode, Ivan shares his experiences with various 3D printing projects, including his introduction to the ERCF and the creation of the "Twinsor." He talks about the challenges and triumphs he faced along the way, and how his persistence and innovation have led to significant advancements in 3D printing technology.

Lars Brubaker was one of the three original founders of MatterHackers, establishing the company in 2012. He has served in many roles over the course of MatterHackers' evolution, including customer support, sales, shipping, investor relations, hiring, software development, systems design, and management coaching. During the company's history, he has done whatever was needed to help build MatterHackers into the largest independent 3D printer reseller in the U.S.
Prior to his position at MatterHackers, Lars was the CEO of Reflexive Entertainment, Inc., a company he co-founded with three partners in 1997. In addition to managing the company, he was a key member in the development of over a dozen games and a game distribution platform—the Reflexive Arcade. Reflexive Entertainment was acquired by Amazon Inc. in 2008. Over the following three years with Amazon, Lars was a senior manager running operations at Amazon’s new game subsidiary—the precursor to what would ultimately become Amazon Game Studios. He also served as a Principal Engineer, assisting with the technical evaluation of several companies and products, attending senior management meetings to advise on the gaming industry, and contributing to teams building new technologies for Amazon's mobile, tablet, and Kindle businesses.

In this episode, we’ll interview Rudolf, co-founder of the Recycling Fabrik in Germany. The intention of he and his teammates is to save resources before getting into incineration and build awareness of recycling and recycled / sustainable materials. The idea started in the beginning of Corona.
There was a gap of medical equipment, they printed on 3D printers. Due to the Corona situation they had just 50% of normal work and a lot of time. The Maker-vs-Virus community had the problem of waste and they were kidding: let's recycle this stuff.
He started in his kitchen and living room, sorting plastic waste and melting it to test the possibilities. From there, Recycling Fabrik has grown to recycle literally tons and tons of 3D printer waste, putting out beautiful new 3D printing filament that people can buy on a points system.
Throughout this conversation, we’ll discuss that process, how it works, and the pro’s and cons. Plus, how you can support their work.

Jonas Galle is founder and CEO of ValCUN. ValCUN is a Belgian based company that has developed a new technology for metal 3D printing with the focus on aluminium with the goal to make metal additive manufacturing affordable, initially towards industrial production and eventually towards makers.
Because Jonas is a maker/hobbyist himself and only starts projects where normal peoples stops:).
The idea for ValCUN was triggered by the question: "Why is nobody printing metals like polymer FDM? Because that would make things way more easier for metal AM". In many hobby projects (including the ones of Jonas') required metal and preferrable aluminium as this is easier to process with outstanding weight-strength ratio. Many dedicated hobbist have basic milling machines but when more complex shapes are required CNC milling/3D printing would be desired. A single step aluminium FDM process could solve many problems (not limiting to hobbyist but also industry).
