In this interview I talk to David Weston, who spent a very long career in Shakespeare's plays. He was Ian McKellen's understudy in a world tour of King Lear. He kept a diary during that time which was published as Covering McKellen, which he followed up with Covering Shakespeare. I do some fangirling, and we chat about his career.

After Diaghilev's death the ballet was left in a chaotic state. Disparate producers, impresarios, choreographers, and dancers came together to form a new company. On Broadway ballet makes its way into the mainstream and onto the stages.

This week's episode is an interview with Lyrica Woodruff, basically Broadway's ballerina. The SAB alum talks about her journey from California to New York and from ballet to Broadway.

The Diaghilev Ballet Russes was a project which brought revolutionized ballet, brought it to the world, and served as a launching point from which artists like George Balanchine would begin their careers.
