Jennifer Barrett: Why Women Need to Generate Wealth Not Just Earn A Paycheck: The Path to Becoming A Breadwinner (rerun)04 Jan 202301:02:01

Are you currently saving money and amassing wealth or are you living paycheck to paycheck? Whether you are a stay at home mom, have a career, don’t know much about how to manage money, or are great at it but always love learning more — there is something in this interview for you. Jennifer Barrett is on to discuss her new book, “Think Like a Breadwinner,” a wealth-building manifesto for women. Who doesn’t want to build wealth… but the real question is ‘are you’? Jennifer tells us why women haven’t been accustomed to thinking like a breadwinner, even when they are one. How and why it’s so important to shift our mindsets to one of a breadwinner. She also provides tactical tips and relatable stories in this conversation to empower you to secure your financial future and rely on yourself even if you have a spouse. The days of waiting to be rescued are over as you are the heroine of your story. We cover so much in this empowering conversation! Tune in now and you can access the show notes at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/225.

Please be sure to share it with your friends who would benefit from this information. Also be sure to follow the show on Apple Podcasts or your favorite app so you don’t miss an episode.

5. Click to rate and leave short review and you’re done!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
1. How women are taught to budget, save for a rainy day, and find a partner instead of being taught how to think about our long term vision and retirement. We need to be building wealth all along the way.
2. We need to plan as if we are going to be solely responsible for ourselves and our families for the rest of our lives.
3. Why men are given expansive thoughts for their financial capabilities more often then women.
4. How things are changing where more women are breadwinners than ever before.
5. Why the conventional breadwinner model was pervasive through the 20th century and how that’s created no real models for women. Most women just assume they will be the main caregivers.
6. We are vulnerable if we are depending on someone else. Even if you think you’ll be married for life it is important you make choices for your future.
7. Women are ambitious with their careers but we need to be ambitious and expansive with our thinking when it comes to our finances.
8. The role that the media plays in how women perceive their potential in regard to finances and creating wealth.
9. The role that parents play in teaching their sons and not their daughters about investing and other matters related to finances.
10. Why it’s important to be informed if you decide to “off ramp” from your work to stay at home with your kids and why it may not be that easy to “on ramp” when you are ready
11. How to find community and support other women and much more.

Tactical steps:
1. Earn as much as you can for the role you are in if you are working.
2. Check your salary in your area of expertise. Check salary.com, fairygodboss.com glassdoor.com — quantify the value you bring so you are prepared to negotiate the best salary and close the wage gap. Your income is the springboard for wealth building.
3. Use every paycheck to become less dependent on your next paycheck. Invest it – put some in savings and some in the market.
4. Visualize – write down where you want to be in 3 years from now and write out the entire day in visceral details. Where do you want to be and what do you want to be doing? Make it real for yourself to get into the energetic space of what you want. Cut out pictures and visualize the future you desire. Do it twice a year and write the list as if it is in the present tense. Make your choices based on your values.

Debbie Millman: On Branding and Creating A Vision for Your Life That Matters (rerun)28 Dec 202200:39:00

“If you want a remarkable life, you have to commit to doing it.” – Debbie Millman

The iconic Debbie Millman is on the show. I have been an admirer of her work for years. For 20 years, Debbie was the President of Sterling Brands, one of the world’s leading branding consultancies. Under her leadership, Sterling grew to 150 employees in five offices. While there, she worked on the logo and brand identity for Burger King, Hershey’s, Haagen Dazs, Tropicana, Star Wars, Gillette, and the No More movement. Debbie is currently working with Law & Order SVUactor and activist Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation to eradicate sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and the rape-kit backlog. In 2009 Debbie co-founded the world’s first graduate program in branding at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Today we discuss branding as well as how to design our lives intentionally. All of the show notes can be found at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/224

WE DISCUSS:
  1. The difference between design vs. branding
  2. “Branding is about manufacturing meaning through symbols and objects, and design is the expression of that meaning.”
  3. What it takes to create a new brand or rebrand. You have to ask one crucial question when working on a brand: “Why does the world need this?”
  4. Her work for the Joyful Heart Foundation and how she got involved as the Chairman of the Board.
  5. Why she believes a person shouldn’t aspire to be a brand.
  6. What drives her to impact others.
  7. Her 5 Year Life Plan that she took with Milton Glaser that transformed her life. Big dreams all manifested within 13 years, within ten years, 80%-90% of it was achieved.
  8. The importance of declaring your wants. Declaration of intention.
  9. Debbie teaches her students the 10 Year Life Plan at the School of Visuals Arts.
  10. How at the age of eight she created a picture that turned into her adult reality – like a vision board.
  11. Her advice on how to live a creative life.
  12. Her thoughts on advertising during COVID, and much more!
DEBBIE’S 3 BEST TIPS FOR DESIGNING A GOOD LIFE:
  1. “Continually think if not now, when?”
  2. “If you want a remarkable life, you have to commit to doing it.” Don’t edit your dreams before you try. We often determine what’s impossible before you determine if it’s possible. “Try before you decide you can’t. You get over failure and rejection, but you don’t ever really get over regret.”
  3. “Don’t give up on love.”

Brian Moran: NYTimes Best-Selling Author on How to Use the 12 Week Year to be More Productive and Live in Alignment with Your Life’s Vision (rerun)21 Dec 202200:47:38

“If the average person just more consistently did what they already know they’d be healthier, happier, and be making more money.” – Brian Moran

Brian Moran the New York Times bestselling author of “The 12 Week Year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks than Others Do in 12 Months” is going to share how to get more done in less time. He will take us into this execution system he developed while also sharing easy to implement time management strategies. He also connects the dots back to why it is important to create our life vision so we can structure our time and goals around that vision. You will learn tactical steps that you can use today to move closer to the life you desire. Loved this conversation so much! Tune in now and you can access the show notes at thegoodlifecoach.com/223.

1. Click on this link
2. Click “View in iTunes” button
3. Click “Subscribe” button
4. Click “Ratings and Reviews” text
5. Click to rate and leave short review and you’re done!

Thank you for listening to the show!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
1. Why the 12 week year is an execution system and how that helps you get more done in less time.
2. It’s not enough to know. You have to execute. Knowledge is only powerful if you act on it.
3. Get out of the annual environment. With this program, you are going to stop after 12 weeks and that is your year. Measure your success or failure and measure the progress and then go again. It’s a fluid process. You can use this professionally or personally. You can do anything for 12 weeks and then decide is that somethingI want to do again.
4. Your vision is you’re why. Your goals NEED to align with the vision.
5. At the goal level, know the difference between goals and tactics and outcomes and actions. The actions we have control over. Goals are outcomes.
6. Make sure at the goal level that is measurable – it’s an outcome.
7. Determine what are the most important actions. Most plans are conceptual not tactical. You need to spell out the specific actions and focus on “less is more”.
8. Stay connected to your vision by putting the longer term vision in front of you – laminate a card you can look at every day. Create visual reminders.
9. The difference between a habit and routine is key. Ex, going to the gym is a routine not a habit and routines are what drive success. How you begin and end your day needs a routine. The key is to start off positive. End your day with gratitude.
10. How to manage time. Time blocking – 3 core blocks:
A. Strategic Block -3 hours blocked during the week. No interruptions – working on the business not in the business. THIS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
B. Buffer Blocks – these are designed to deal with the emails/low level stuff. Ex, I return calls between 4-5pm. Don’t check your emails when they come in. Block time in to address it.
C. Break out blocks – schedule time away from work to do something just for you to recharge.
The Four Disciplines of the 12 Week Year

Vision – You have to know what you want.
Planning – You have to ask – “What matters most?”
Execution – Then ask, “Am I doing it?”
Measurement – “Is it producing?”

Rob + Ryan DeLena: Authors of "Without Restraint: How Skiing Saved My Son's Life" Discuss Their Memoir30 Nov 202201:14:43

Rob and Ryan DeLena are the co-authors of the Memoir Without Restraint: How Skiing Saved My Son’s Life to be released in March of 2023. “As a child Ryan DeLena had difficulty controlling his emotional outbursts. This led to placement in therapeutic schools that relied on detrimental methods of behavior modification such as physical restraints. Nothing helped from a team of doctors to heavy medication. Then in 2010, Ryan was voluntarily committed to a mental hospital for further evaluation. His parents Rob and Mary Beth were counseled to place him in a group home. They refused…

Written in two voices, Without Restraint is a joint father-son memoir told with both pain and levity, struggle and strength, adventure and heart. It is the story of a misunderstood boy, a father’s growth, and a shared love of the outdoors that formed their unbreakable bond.”

You’ll hear both Ryan and Rob share their experiences with Therapeutic Schools in Massachusetts – getting both perspectives is powerful.

This is not intended to be mental or general health advice. This show is for entertainment purposes only. For advice, consult your trusted healthcare provider.

Paula Rizzo: Overcoming Procrastination23 Nov 202200:37:15

Do you have goals that are important to you but you keep putting them off? If you would like to learn easy to implement tips on how to overcome procrastination, then this conversation is for you. You’ll learn the main reasons why we procrastinate and ways to work around those barriers to get closer to achieving your goals and living the life you desire. We use getting in shape and writing a book as specific examples to make it really tactical.

Our guest is Paula Rizzo, an Emmy Award-winning television producer, a media trainer, speaker, and best-selling author of Listful Thinking and Listful Living. The show notes for today can be found at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/219

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Fear is one of the major reasons someone will procrastinate.
  • Break down goals into manageable tasks. Don’t put on your calendar “write book” – narrow it down to micro-goals. For example, write 200 words from 1pm-2pm on Tuesdays.
  • Set yourself up for success by managing your day based on when you are more productive.
  • Find an accountability partner. Ex, If you want to get into shape, find a friend or someone with the same goal and set up a regular day/time you’ll meet at the gym.
  • Discipline is a key.  Establish habits and repetition.
  • Focus on one priority for the day.  Don’t over schedule yourself.
  • Remove as many obstacles as you can. For example, sleep in your workout clothes so you are dressed and ready to go in the morning.

Lisa Genova: Celebrating 4 Years of the Show w/ NYTimes Best-Selling Author of "Still Alice" (re-run)09 Nov 202201:10:58

Lisa Genova, the New York Times Bestselling Author of Still Alice, is today’s guest.  When I learned of Lisa’s work and life mission I knew I had to have her on the show.  She epitomizes what is possible when you listen to your internal voice and have the courage to pursue what’s in your heart.  Lisa will tell you that she is doing her “soul’s work” and living a life of purpose by bringing empathy and understanding to neurological disorders people don’t like to think about.  Her book “Still Alice” became a New York Times best-seller and was turned into a major motion picture.  However, before finding her purpose, Lisa was on a very different path.  A Harvard trained Ph.D. in neuroscience, Lisa found herself at a crossroads when her first marriage ended in divorce.  It was in this moment of uncertainty that she found the courage to leave the familiar for a life as a writer.  If you are a writer or want to be one, would like to find your purpose, and/or enjoy stories of how dreams become reality, then you will love today’s episode.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Why Lisa left her life as a Harvard trained PhD in Neuroscience to become a fiction writer, with no prior writing experience
  • Why her grandmother having alzheimer’s triggered her desire to write
  • How & why she became an “empathy warrior” for people with neurological disorders
  • How acting classes helped her become a better writer
  • We dig into her creative process – how she crafts her books
  • Why all of her books cover a neurological disorder and how they connect to life themes

Dr. Renée Alsarraf: Author of "Sit, Stay, Heal: What Dogs Can Teach Us About Living Well"02 Nov 202200:41:54

For more than two decades, esteemed veterinary oncologist Dr. Renée Alsarraf treated cancer in canine
patients. Then at age fifty-one, she was diagnosed with cancer herself. The disease Dr. Renée had dedicated her professional life to fighting, suddenly left her scared and unsure.
But it was only in receiving her own cancer diagnosis that Dr. Renée realized the empathy she had for
animals went both ways. It was her patients—those furry, four-legged, slobbering animals— who seemed to uniquely understand the jumbled language of her own difficult journey and who showed her the true power of positivity and unconditional love.

Dr. Renée shares what we can learn from dogs in her beautiful memoir Sit, Stay, Heal: What Dogs Can Teach Us About Living Well”

All of the show notes can be found at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/215/

WE DISCUSS

  1. Why Dr. Renee wrote this book and what she hopes people will walk away with after reading it.
  2. How dogs can be an incredible guide when we suffer from any issue.  They are so present and the human-animal bond is so profound.
  3. She speaks to the power of women and to the moms out their navigating everything. Facing our own mortality.
  4. How her book helps people navigate end of life decisions with their dogs.
  5. The insights into vet and human medicine and some of the specific differences between how humans and animals are treated when they have cancer, and more.

Friday Focus: Philosopher Derek Notman on Inquiry21 Oct 202200:12:34

What is inquiry and how can you use it in your life to foster more peace and joy? How do you learn how to be in the moment and not allow your mind and thoughts to have you worrying about a future that hasn’t occurred or stuck ruminating on the past? Derek Notman, Philosopher and Martial Arts Expert is back on the show to guide us to embrace our feelings instead of run away from them. Lots to learn and think about once you tune in!

This is not intended to be advice for dealing with mental health issues. This is a podcast which is for informational and entertainment purposes only. Anything dealing with your mental or physical health should be discussed with your trusted healthcare provider.

Tune in now and access the show notes at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/211/

WHAT WE DISCUSS

  • What is inquiry
  • What we can learn from Socrates
  • How inquiry can guide us to invite in our feelings instead of run away from them
  • How to embrace the moment and find more peace and joy even when life is hard, and much more!

ABOUT OUR GUEST

For over three decades, Derek has dedicated his life to the study of physical culture and philosophy. This pursuit has led him all over the world including time living in China and South East Asia, studying with traditional masters of martial, movement and healing arts.

Derek always sought to extract the essence of the traditions while connecting the common elements. Despite the uniqueness of each art and human form, there is a commonality to being in a body and so themes emerge. He has made it his life’s work, to investigate and understand these themes and share them with others in a paradigm of traditional wisdom through embodied practice.

WHAT WE DISCUSS:

  1. How we have 4 voices. Your inner child, inner critic, and inner ego. These three voices want to keep you safe but can hold you back. Your intuition is the voice that is connected to the way source sees you.
  2. Every time your intuition speaks to you – check in and ask ‘What did I feel, see, know, and hear?” Get connected to how you receive intuition. You’ll start a swing towards 80% intuition.
  3. Ask ‘What do I need to learn to get what I want?”
  4. Know that you can’t do it wrong. Intuition will guide you back on course.

Dr. Michelle Wolford - How Hormones Impact Our Health (rerun)28 Sep 202200:59:08

Are you moody?  Do you have low sex drive? Unexplained weight gain? Skin Issues? Today, we discuss hormones — the different kinds of hormones and what it looks like when they go out of balance.  We also get into perimonopause and menopause and what to expect.  Hormones impact our sleep, digestion, blood pressure, libido, skin, and it goes on and on.  My intention is to have this information serve as a “hormones 101” so that you can have a foundational understanding of how they work in your body and impact health as many women don’t have the basic information they need. *This is not intended to serve as medical advice and you should always consult with your own health care practitioner before making any changes to your health.

I’ve invited on award winning naturopathic doctor, Dr. Michelle Wolford to educate us.  For nearly a decade, she has run a private multi disciplinary practice in San Diego treating children and adults for a variety of acute and chronic conditions all over the world.  She’s been a guest speaker at Medical Schools, on several radio, blog spot and TV programs in addition to a guest writer for the Journal of Alternative Medicine.

All of the show notes will be at thegoodlifecoach.com/021

*This interview is for informational and entertainment purposes only and is not intended to replace your relationship with your doctor or trusted healthcare providers.*

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

Our hormones regulate everything in our bodies.  It is important to manage our stress and take care of our bodies through nutrition and other means.

Meditate for 10 minutes a day, breathe in fresh air, and do 40minutes of exercise 3-4 times a week.

DR. WOLFORD’S 3 BEST TIPS:

  1. Use castor oil packs to detoxify your liver.
  2. Create a routine around when you go to sleep, wake up, and eat your meals.  The goal is consistency.
  3. Spend 30 minutes every day just for you – where you are unplugged from technology and just breathe.

Monday Musings with Michele: Waking Up19 Sep 202200:05:47

This is a solo-cast inviting you to think about waking to what is calling for your awareness – what parts of your life you desire change and how to make that change happen. Here’s the thing — every decision we make, every dream we have, every goal we set, every compromise we make, every excuse, every moment we let go by in distraction instead of staying present to the moment and the futures we want to wake up in — this creates our reality.

So, then, how do you own your voice?  How do you show up for yourself?  How do you create the dreams you desire?  How do you even begin to dream again when maybe you’ve lost yourself completely?

It all starts with curiosity which leads to clarity about what you really want. Once you have that then you take one baby step, followed by one action and then by another and so on.

It requires faith and self-love.  It requires support.

I hope you find it helpful and please share it with anyone who would benefit from it.

Nadine Levin: Making Your Pipe Dream a Reality. Meet the CEO of Pipe Dream Cupcakes (rerun)14 Sep 202200:28:26

Do you have a “pipe dream?”  Do you wonder if you have what it takes to make it a reality?  My guest today, Nadine Levin, is the Founder & CEO of Pipe Dream Cupcakes.  She was going through a life transition while working in Advertising for over 15 years.  In 2012 she decided that she could keep doing what she knew how to do well — as she was the number 1 sales person for years in a row, or she could try to make her “pipe dream” a reality.  She chose her dream!

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

Why Nadine left a successful corporate career to launch a food truck selling cupcakes!

We discuss why she decided on a food truck instead of an actual bakery.

The reasons she loves doing what she does and why she doesn’t regret leaving the world of advertising where she was the number one sales person.

We discuss the roadblocks and challenges and how she figured out where to start and what she would need to make it a reality.

The key questions she asked others in the business to make sure she was ready.

How she launched her business in just 3 months from concept!

Why it was all a leap of faith and what she believes you need to have to be successful.

Nadine’s definition of success.

Yes, she does eat her cupcakes every day and also makes her health a priority by working out every day.

Nadine’s 3 best pieces of advice for launching your Pipe Dream:

1. Do your homework /research – know what you are getting yourself into.

2. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do.  Don’t listen to the naysayers or let other people discourage you.

3. You don’t need to say yes to everyone.  Once you have your confidence you will know your worth.

Kimmye Bohannon - CEO of The Weekly Juicery. Can Juicing Turn Back the Aging Clock? (rerun)07 Sep 202200:55:28

Have you wanted to learn more about the benefits of juicing? Do you make fresh juice at home?  Have you purchased fresh juice at the market?   Do you know the difference between a green smoothie and green juice?

On today’s podcast, we cover all of these questions and more, with Kimmye Bohannon the CEO of The Weekly Juicery and the Founder of The Juice Ritual program.  Kimmye says she felt like she was aging in “dog years” and juicing turned back the clock!

We discuss the benefits of juicing and how to get started. Kimmye shares her recommended juicer and best book to begin… but first we get into her inspiring entrepreneurial journey. Kimmye had worked at JP Morgan for nearly 15 years when she launched The Weekly Juicery in her home in 2012 with no experience in this business.  Her goal was to create a juice delivery service that would make drinking cold-pressed juices convenient for busy people.  She would wake up at 2am – yes 2am – to deliver fresh juice to her early subscribers.  That’s how passionate she is about the benefits.

We have a lot of laughs during this conversation and I hope you’ll be laughing along with us too!    For show notes visit:  https://thegoodlifecoach.com/015

*This interview is for informational and entertainment purposes only and is not intended to replace your relationship with your doctor or trusted healthcare providers.*

Key Takeaways:

A mother to 3 children in just four years, Kimmye felt like she was aging much too quickly.  She bought a juicer and picked up a book from Natalia Rose.  Kimmye started to feel great and before she knew it her passion for juicing became her calling.  She had no idea about this industry or how to do all the things to make it a reality, but step by step, she found her way.

It takes 3 1/2 – 4 1/2 pounds of produce for 16 ounces of juice!

My favorite takeaway:  “As entrepreneurs we need to always be asking: ‘Is there a better way?'”

She had no prior experience and her company continues to deliver delicious, fresh juice throughout the United States.  In addition,  there are five Weekly Juicery retail locations and the online Juice Ritual Program which is a guided, one-day juice fast experience each month.

The Weekly Juicery juices are 100% USDA Certified Organic, vegetable-centric with little to no fruit.

Kimmye’s 3 best tips for success:

  1. You need to be a student and a teacher.  People want to help you.  Ask people for help.  Share your experience back.
  2. Intuition is generally right and yours will be too.  “The net is going to appear.  Make a big leap.”
  3. Be very unattached to outcomes in your business.  If you are too attached you might miss other opportunities.

MORE ABOUT STACY MADISON:

Stacy Madison founded Stacy’s Pita Chip Company, a top-selling natural snack food brand. It started with a career change from social work, to a strong desire to create delicious healthy food. Then, an entrepreneurial spirit and a small food cart in Boston used to sell pita sandwiches. As an incentive to keep people happily waiting in line, she baked pita chips each day using extra pita bread and gave them away to customers. She then decided to package and start selling the chips to local stores. The company experienced rapid growth and became a top-selling international snack food brand. After several years of traveling, she decided to open Stacy’s Juice bar. Stacy’s Juicebar began to sell hundreds of raw energy bars each month. The growing demand inspired Stacy to manufacture and market the bars nationwide. Stacy’s newest venture is BeBOLD Bars. BeBOLD Bars are healthy energy bars made with nutritious nut butters, oats, chocolate chips, chia, brazil nuts, walnuts, dark maple syrup, and wildflower honey. Wrapping simple ingredients and delicious flavors into one great bar.

Michele Lamoureux: The Power of the Feminine29 Jun 202200:19:02

Today we are talking about how to embrace your femininity as a way of reclaiming your power and manifesting from feminine energy instead of the masculine which is what is fueling business and life. The show notes are at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/035

Key Takeaways

  • In Corporate America there is a masculine paradigm that has been leading the way for generations. Women want to change the system, have equal pay, and the same job opportunities; yet many women are still operating in a way that doesn’t support younger women coming up or even their peers. This is obviously a generalization, but so many women tell me stories that leave me feeling frustrated. Even though we’ve come so far – we have so much farther to go.
  • I thought that the world of entrepreneurship would be different. Women using their feminine energy to create and build success on their own terms. Many women are doing this, but I was surprised that the popular and “cool” language used to describe success that women have adopted as their own is all based on the masculine.
  • “Crushing it”, “hustle”, “push”, “killing it”, and “slay” are the words women are using to describe how to create success. Instead, I am inviting women to think about bringing in the feminine as a balance to this energy. You can have hustle but you can also have “flow”. You can push when you need to, but also “allow”. You can be “killing it and crushing it and slay” or you can also balance that by “doing what you love, taking inspired action, and trusting.”
  • Mother Earth serves as a reminder and example of the feminine. She gives life and supports life. Everything has its time and process. Women intuitively understand that bringing in “trust and flow” allows things to unfold in their time.

Michele’s 3 Best Tips to Embrace the Feminine:

  1. Think about your work environment and how you can support other women.
  2. If you are an entrepreneur, what energy do you need more of right now? If you have been operating out of the masculine, bring in feminine energy to balance and not burn yourself out.
  3. Remember that feminine energy is powerful.

Cynthia Besteman - Cancer Warrior + Green Beauty CEO (rerun)15 Jun 202200:51:03

Cynthia Besteman was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and threw out all of her toxic skincare products when she realized that they weren’t the “natural” products they promised to be. In 2015 Violets Are Blue is launched. She used her knowledge and passion for naturally-derived skincare ingredients to formulate a consciously-produced line of products, each one a true labor of love. In addition to developing new products for the Signature and Beloved lines, Cynthia provides patients at the Mt. Sinai Dubin Breast Center in NYC with a gifted package of Beloved products upon their first day of chemotherapy.  She is also proud to have created a company that supports women helping women, with 10% of the purchase price of all products going toward skincare donations for cancer patients.

Born in Seattle, Cynthia first landed in New York City determined to find her way as an actress, after completing a major in theater at the University of Oregon. She worked on Broadway for 10 years before checking out the real estate scene and quickly became one of the top brokers in the city. After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2011, Cynthia’s successful career in the cutthroat world of New York City real estate came to a skidding halt.

While undergoing treatment, one of her first actions was to toss out all beauty products containing unsafe chemicals and synthetic fragrances, leaving her medicine cabinet bare. She was shocked by the mislabeling of many skincare and beauty products that were classified as “natural” while containing parabens, sulfates, and other chemicals known to work as endocrine disruptors linked to cancer and reproductive concerns.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

Cynthia wanted to bring dignity back to the women being treated for breast cancer.  She created her “Beloved” line which is specifically formulated for women dealing with cancer.

Cynthia wants women dealing with breast cancer to be called “warriors” instead of “thrivers and survivors” as she believes that puts too much pressure on people.

She helped with the Cancer Wellness Expo in New York City – inviting “ultimate warriors” to come together.

Loves speaking about her journey – because you can go through something and come out better.  She launched her company in her 50s.  She says if you know you want to make changes in your life – take action.

As long as you have the passion or start the journey to find the passion – it’s exciting.

CYNTHIA’S 3 BEST TIPS FOR LIVING A GOOD LIFE:

  1. Be authentic to you not to anyone else.
  2. It’s never too late to start something new. It makes you feel younger.
  3. Find humor in every circumstance.
