Three individuals are bound by, seemingly, a chance meeting. The Large Pilgrim, seeking to kindle hope in a darkened part of the world, a lonesome traveler picking up odd jobs to get by in the world, and a furry shopkeep looking for a find to fuel his newest inventions, all on their own paths and finding that journey to be intertwined with each other's. Will this be a job of convenience, with a polite parting upon completion? Or will they find more to be gained in traveling with company? We shall see, as they head forth into the outskirts of the once grand city, and find the dangers lurking there.

Feeling safe in Barovia is not a long lived sensation, but safety is relative. Borne away from the castle on wings speedily retreating, the group ponders how they will begin this campaign against Strahd VonZarovich. Many faces, many names have been met on this journey through the misty lands, and many tasks remain uncompleted. Silence fills the throne room as as Strahd takes his leave. In stunned silence, the Investigator picks her way over to the shattered window and looks out into the perpetual night that enshrouds the ancient castle. A bolt of lightning illuminates the gray peaks below, and stands in stark contrast to the darkness pervading every corner of these halls. The Priestess stands motionless, a tempest of emotions raging within, while the Knight struggles to regain composure. They've faced worse odds in the past, surely.
