Jeshurun popped on my radar after his 2nd place finish at the Canyons 50k in April where he gave all-time great Hayden Hawks a run for his money at the North American UTMB Major for 50k. Then in August, Jeshurun had an even bigger breakthrough with a 5th place at OCC -- the UTMB World final of the 50k distance. Top-5 in the world and top-American at only 25 years old.
We talk all about Jeshurun's background. We spend a bunch of time on the Mountain Sports Program at Western State University – a support system that helped to nurture Jeshurun into the great athlete he is today, we talk about his training, his YouTube channel and being a creator in the sport. Welcome to Day 6 of Good Morning, Mont Blanc. This is the inaugural year of Freetrail's daily morning show, kicking off with the 20th anniversary of the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB), the most important global event in the sport of trail running. The show is hosted each day by professional athlete, Dylan Bowman.
Dylan is joined on Day 6 by Katie Asmuth, Topher Gaylord and Kim Gaylord. Topher and Kim helped found UTMB and have been here every single year since 2003. Dylan has been coming to Chamonix since 2013, exactly a decade. Katie is in Chamonix for the first time. They discuss the early results of the race and watch the livestream as more finishers come in.

Welcome to Day 5 of Good Morning, Mont Blanc. Dylan is joined on Day 5 by OCC racers Dani Moreno, EmKay Sullivan and Francesco Puppi, who all had wildly different race experiences and outcomes.
Francesco had an incredible race at OCC, placing second overall. Both Dani and EmKay had tough days and didn't finish.
Everyone talks about their races and the OCC course and race results in general. Then they pivot to watching and commentating on CCC live, and finally provide their preview for UTMB, which starts at 6pm tonight.

Sage joins us fresh off his race at TDS, which he finished last night. TDS is now nearly 100 miles and 28,000 feet of climbing, the trails are very technical, and it was even more challenging with the weather. They talk about his pulmonary embolism, his overall health and how he's feeling physically. Welcome to Day 2 of Good Morning, Mont Blanc. This is the inaugural year of Freetrail's daily morning show, kicking off with the 20th anniversary of the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB), the most important global event in the sport of trail running. The show is hosted each day by professional athlete, Dylan Bowman.
Dylan is joined on Day 2 by three incredible individuals: Topher Gaylord, Keith Byrne and Doug Meyer. Topher was instrumental in founding the UTMB and has been around since the very beginning. Today, he is still the highest placing American male in the UTMB, placing 2nd in 2003. Keith has been at UTMB since 2004 where he has held many roles at the race including, most recently, leading the race commentary. Doug Meyer wrote the book, The Race That Changed Running: The Inside Story of UTMB, and has been privy to many of the important stories behind this race over the years.
They discuss how Topher helped identify and join the UTMB as the founding sponsor when he was leading The North Face in Europe in the early 2000s and why he knew it was going to become one of the best races in the world.
Keith has a longstanding relationship with Catherine and Michael Poletti and pulls the curtain back on their dynamic. UTMB has been a passion project for the Polettis and, as Keith says, they have always focused on their values and what they believe is the spirit of trail running. The team discusses some of the disagreements and controversies that have grown from the race and how things need to shift to keep up with the developing sport and world.
Topher and Keith also discuss what it was like being part of The North Face family in the early days of race sponsorship. The race connected and created bonds with their work family that endure today.

In this interview, Dylan talks to professional athlete Hannes Namberger (Dynafit), who is racing UTMB this week. We talked to Hannes before UTMB in 2023 and much has happened in his life since. He and his wife welcomed their first child last year, and he's recently been on a racing tear. He won the Lavaredo 120k in June and the Grossglockner Ultra-Trail 50k in July.
