| 14 | Part 3 of 3 - Sex, Mood & Menopause in the Second Half of Life | 18 Mar 2021 | 00:54:06 | |
Join me, Dr. Sarah Milken, in an honest and open conversation about the rollercoaster of perimenopause and menopause...finally learn the true definitions and differences between perimenopause and menopause and what we can do about it, in the second half of life with Dr. Shieva Ghofrany. Dr. Shieva Ghofrany has been working as an OBGYN for over 21 years and herself has had multiple miscarriages, a weight loss surgery, both types of deliveries AND ovarian cancer… She is now the cofounder of Tribe Called V, a virtual platform that intends to disrupt women's health teaching, by FINALLY breaking down ALL of the basics that affect women from their first periods through pregnancy and past menopause. This crazy busy Connecticut OBGYN, through her huge IG platforms @biglovefiercejuju and @tribecalledv, has warmed the minds and hearts of so many women...teaching us what we need to know, but maybe didn't know we should ask or were too embarrassed to ask... regarding all things vagina. It is Shieva's DEEP belief that if she can "INCREASE women's knowledge then she can DECREASE their anxiety" about their female health and bodies. Shieva is giving us the tools we need to become less anxious, less embarrassed, and more informed about perimenopause and menopausal symptoms and solutions in the second half of life. | 11 | Intensifying Sexual & Personal Energies In The Second Half Of Life with Dr. Laura Berman | 18 Feb 2021 | 01:24:03
Join me, Dr. Sarah Milken, in an honest and open conversation about Intensifying Sexual & Personal Energies in The Second Half of life with Dr. Laura Berman. Dr. Berman is a world-leading expert and therapist in sex, love, & relationships. She is an award-winning host of the nationally syndicated show, Uncovered Radio and the New York Times bestselling author of nine books. She hosted and starred in several TV shows including OWN's In the Bedroom with Laura Berman, The Laura Berman Show, and Sexual Healing on Showtime. And, she has a new podcast launching called, The Language of Love. Dr. Berman is sharing the tools we need to intensify and re energize our personal connections and love lives in the second half of life. We are going to dig deep into the details of Dr. Berman's second half of life journey that started with a quest to heal herself emotionally and physically after receiving her own breast cancer diagnosis, the same year her mother passed away from breast cancer. After trying many different avenues, Dr. Berman turned to the field of quantum physics for answers. In this episode, we discuss how Dr. Berman was able to find her second life path, post breast cancer and how she found the sweet spot between living in a conscious state of intention and high vibrational energy vs. low and dark energy. Laura has two intertwining life paths, one of professional career accomplishments and one of finding her own personal path to healing her internal trauma from her own life events. The second half of her life has led her into a fascinating path of discovering how to love and be loved through quantum physics energy work, which is exactly what she highlights for us in this episode. Dr. Berman talks to us about the importance of tuning into our home frequencies, the feeling that we feel when we are truly at home with ourselves, so we put a more positive and loving energy out into the world when we connect with others. By personally creating the energy that we want to see in the world, that same energy will be shown back to us. Dr. Berman even walks us through a guided meditation to help us tune into our home frequencies and reimagine how we can feel great within ourselves and the world (PLEASE SEE MEDITATION LINK BELOW) Tuning into our home frequencies also allows us to create happier and more loving relationships with all of the people around us. After listening to this episode, you will be ready to recreate your relationship with a new outlook on how to connect with your partner and create a more intense and emotionally connected relationship. | 10 | Being My Own WHY In The Second Half Of Life... First Solo Episode | 11 Feb 2021 | 00:35:05
In this very special and first episode of it's kind for my podcast, I am doing a solo cast. I have been putting this episode off for so long...yes, self limiting beliefs...who am I to do this? Who will listen? Can I do it? It was scary to think about talking to myself without a guest. LOL. I did it. Today, I am sharing some of my golden nuggets that we all can use today, to start being our own why and take that first step in the self recreation journey, in the second half of life. In this episode, I talked about the turning point that made me realize that I wanted to create a podcast, and how my family helped tremendously along the way. In fact, it was my 14 (13 at the time) daughter, who was the one who started all of this. For my birthday, as a gift, she asked many of my friends to write "three things they love about my mom"...upon opening this golden box, I discovered many messages that made me realize I had a little something unique to me that I could put out into the world. There was a theme. I am an inquisitive information gatherer, known as The Flexible Neurotic. While I went back and forth over whether or not it should be a book or a podcast, it was my truly incredible friend, mentor and first guest, Angella Nazarian, who kick started my podcast journey...also, my incredible life coaches, Cari Rose and Ryan Haddon. By reaching out to family, friends and mentors, I was able to gather the information, support and expertise that I needed to start my self recreation journey. It takes a village. #womensupportingwomen. "The Flexible Neurotic came to be when I realized my special skill is really being super neurotic, but balancing it out with just the right amount of flexibility, when I need to make a final decision...this is the definition of The Flexible Neurotic and the premise of the podcast." In this episode, I go on to talk about how this podcast turned into something I could have never imagined. It grew at a crazy fast rate, all thanks to my friends and even people I have met online who have resonated with this self recreation process. I also chat about the steps forward and detours in the journey. I share some of the people that I have met and connected with along the way and how they have continued to shape my self recreation process. I even cover a quick recap of some of the episodes that have really resonated with my listeners and me. On a more personal level, you will hear how my husband and I met in high school and how it went down from there, to a 27 year relationship. You will hear about me, why the podcast, how the podcast, how I learned to become my own why and take that first step... and what we can all do to take the next steps in our self recreation journeys, in the second half of life. Join in the self recreation journey and listen!
