| EP40 The Fascia-Informed Woman (This edition also has a video version!) | 29 Dec 2024 | 00:30:35 | |
In this episode I discuss why I created the Fascia-Informed Woman course and all the great information inside the course. Every woman who is considering starting a new fitness routine should start with this course! Why? The goal in most fitness programs is to build muscle which is incredibly important, but when fascia surrounds every muscle group, individual muscle and even every muscle fiber we must consider the health of the fascia before we get started. We also cover the importance of posture, joint mobility and stability and many other topics that should be considered BEFORE jumping into a new exercise program. Creating a healthy foundation will create more success and help prevent injuries. Find this public-facing course here: Creating a Foundation for Fitness in Women 45+: A fascia informed I also recorded this episode as a video podcast if you'd rather watch than listen. | EP27 We got waitlisted! Ugh. | 22 Sep 2024 | 00:19:56
In this episode I share how the conference in Colorado went. It was amazing! Colorado runs a great conference, and this was their best turn out ever! | EP25 A doctor told my client he should do yoga but nothing else. What do you think he did? | 08 Sep 2024 | 00:33:24
Too many people are told by health providers...you should do some yoga. This leaves people feeling lost in a sea of yoga options. Could you guide them into a safe practice for their health condition? As of 2024, approximately 40 million Americans practice yoga regularly. This represents a significant increase in yoga's popularity over the past decade, with the number of practitioners growing by more than 50% in recent years. Yoga is so good for your fascia and valued for its numerous physical and mental health benefits, such as stress relief, improved flexibility, and better overall health. Today I went to give a talk to the public about fascia. I use a simple framework that I can condense or expand depending on the situation and the time I have available. I use a similar framework when I am talking to potential referral sources. Have you been asked to speak about fascia? Here's my framework... | Ep15 A healthy18-year-old client with TMD that seemingly came out of nowhere. | 30 Jun 2024 | 00:22:14
I don't take many new clients anymore, but this mom contacted me directly asking if I would. Her daughter has jaw pain and she heard we could help. To her, the pain came from nowhere and kept getting worse. Fascia science helped them understand where it was likely coming from and what they could do next. Spoiler alert... she walked out feeling much better and has a plan to keep the healing going. Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD) affects over 80 million adults and over 8 million children and adolescents in the United States (The TMJ Association, 2022). | Ep12 You'll Never Guess My Highest Performing Blog Topics: I had no idea they'd be so searched on the web. | 09 Jun 2024 | 00:16:45
My highest performing blog post was written in 2020 and has had 27.4K views! The runner up was written in 2019 and has had 17K. Neither blog is about fascia or myofascial release. However, the blog itself contains how fascia is relevant to these topics. I'm continually surprised by these statistics. People have questions about their bodies and understanding fascia can help us answer their questions.
| Ep11 Why I Want to Create Fascia-Informed™ Humans and Therapists (and a rant) | 03 Jun 2024 | 00:23:20 | |
I recently saw a post telling therapists they didn't need to tell clients about the science behind their techniques because they don't care. Mine do. In junior high we start learning about how our bodies and all the systems within it work. Fascia is a system that gives us a more complete understanding of how out bodies work and people need to know about this system. Providing information while collaborating with your client is so important. Please talk to your clients about science but do it in a way that is relevant to them. They will care.

| Ep3 In My Practice, I Feel I have a Duty to Offer EVERYTHING I Can to Help My Clients Heal | 20 Apr 2024 | 00:20:14 | |
In my practice I don't just use myofascial release techniques to help my clients heal. I also offer a wide range of scientifically valid strategies and techniques to help them heal. | EP36 Fascia and Stigma. It exists and I was recently reminded. | 01 Dec 2024 | 00:34:34
I recently had a conversation with a very critical thinking practitioner who brought up that fascia and myofascial release has so much stigma associated with it. This made her hesitant to learn about it. In this podcast I expand on the conversation we had because I know she's not the only out there thinking this way. Practitioners approach me quite frequently with this concern. I hope to change the stigma around fascia with an evidence-based approach. Learn about the system first, then decided about which techniques you want to learn. That is a Fascia-Informed approach! The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. | EP35 Should you use cupping? Here's how I use it. | 24 Nov 2024 | 00:46:21
Cupping is an ancient art that has been reimagined, rebranded and integrated into many modern traditional and non-traditional practices. I started using cupping a few years ago after receiving it from another practitioner and I find it very helpful. Many of my clients love to have cupping integrated into their treatment sessions. Join me as I review some literature and give you more information about how you might use cupping in your practice! The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. Practicing on the cutting edge.
| EP34 Muscle relaxers for stress management? Really? | 17 Nov 2024 | 00:11:51 | |
Another conversation with a client that made me think. Stress is something that is pervasive in our culture and often can affect the fascia quite significantly. Many people are still not very open to meditation, yoga, therapy or other less invasive ways of dealing with stress. Many people still believe that stress has nothing to do with the pain they feel and that the mind and the body are not an intricately connected as they are. This client had an experience with muscle relaxers that opened her mind to how much stress actually does affect the body. The Fascia-Informed Therapist ™ - Grounded in science. Practicing on the cutting edge.

| Season 2 EP 76 How Mindset Shapes Health: Scientific Insights | 07 Dec 2025 | 00:34:00 | |
In this episode, we explore the powerful and often misunderstood connection between the mind and the body. Drawing from recent research across psychology, behavioral medicine, neuroscience, and aging studies, we break down what the science actually says about mindset and how beliefs, expectations, and interpretations of symptoms can directly influence the physical experience of health. This is not about pretending everything is fine or relying on blind positivity. Instead, we examine the measurable ways that a growth health mindset, mindfulness, and intentional positive thinking can shape pain perception, inflammation, recovery, motivation, and overall well-being. We also look at how cultural narratives, stereotypes, and clinician language can create either healing momentum or nocebo effects that worsen symptoms. You’ll hear insights on: • how expectations influence pain and cognitive performance • why a growth mindset promotes healthier behaviors and better outcomes • the role of optimism in longevity and physiological resilience • how stereotypes about aging and illness shape real biological change • the difference between meaningful positive thinking and toxic positivity Whether you are a healthcare provider, someone living with chronic symptoms, or simply curious about how mindset intersects with health, this episode offers a grounded, science-informed perspective and practical ways to support healing from the inside out. Tune in to learn how shifting the way you think about health can shift the way you experience it emotionally, behaviorally, and physiologically.

What if just 4 minutes a day of movement—no gym, no equipment—could lower your risk of dying from heart disease, cancer, or any cause? In this episode, we explore a groundbreaking 2022 study on Vigorous Intermittent Lifestyle Physical Activity (VILPA) and break down why these short, everyday bursts of effort are not just life-saving, but fascia-supporting. You’ll learn how stair climbing, fast walking, and carrying groceries can function like micro-doses of medicine, especially for people who don’t (or can’t) exercise formally. | EP63 Should you Integrate Posture Wearables into Your Fascia-Informed Practice? | 08 Jun 2025 | 00:29:55
In this episode, I dive into the world of wearable posture devices and how they can support alignment, ease, and body awareness within a fascia-informed practice. Drawing on current research and my own clinical experiences, I explore how wearables can complement hands-on therapy, movement retraining, and client education. You’ll hear what the evidence says about spinal posture, muscle activity, and perceived pain—and how to decide when (and if) to recommend these tools to your clients. Whether you’re new to wearables or already experimenting with them, this episode offers a grounded, fascia-aware look at their role in clinical care.
