Mark Sargent is one of the stars in the Netflix documentary "Behind the Curve" and creator of "Flat Earth Clues" on YouTube.

He started out playing software games professionally. As a part time hobby he'd investigate and debunk conspiracy theories. The 'Flat Earth Theory' was the last on the list. Thinking this would be an easy case he was surprised to discover that the rabbit hole extended further than he ever could have imagined. 

In 2015, Mark put his thoughts together in a series of You Tube videos as 'Flat Earth Clues' which have been utilised by other You Tube creators and seen by millions in some format or other. This bought the opportunity to publish his first book Flat Earth Clues: The Sky's the Limit which delves into the possibility of our human civilization being inside a "Truman Show" like enclosed system and how it's been hidden from the public since 1956. Since then Mark has produced over 1,000 Flat Earth videos, been interviewed hundreds of times, and speaks to groups in different countries regarding this claim.

The Peloton Against Plastic team, Jamie Lepre and Paul Hellier are together to talk about some craziness of 2022 and dreams of 2023. It was another kind of weird year though we have much to do and many conversations to have.

A big focus of this episode is fearing less in the way of the system that controls us and going out and doing things for our community and environment rather than waiting for permission. The answers to not repeating what we have all been through in the last few years might be community.  Starting from the ground up, how can we live a simpler, happier and more fulfilling life, knowing and contributing to what happens right where we live. We can do this, those at the top have absolutely no idea what it takes. So turn them off.

We don't have all the answers, though we are willing to talk about things honestly. And who knows, some things might just stick.

A landscape architect by degree Dan Deighton then completed a permaculture design course in 1999 and was awarded a Diploma in Permaculture in 2005. A landscape architect by degree Dan Deighton then completed a permaculture design course in 1999 and was awarded a Diploma in Permaculture in 2005. He embarked upon a 10 year restoration of the remnant saltmarsh wetlands of Tom Thumb Lagoon and broad scale revegetation of adjoining industrial landscape and an old landfill site.

Aaron is a Permaculture teacher and designer who has been working with community gardens and school Permaculture gardens over the past 20 years. He is passionate about inspiring transformative change in his local Illawarra community by connecting people with nature and creating resilient urban food systems.

In 2003, following 10 years of nurturing community, business, industry and government partnerships, Dan was invited to develop and implement a school Permaculture garden program with industry funding. Teaming up with Permaculturist, Educator & visual artist Aaron Sorensen the ‘Living Classroom & Garden Ambassadors Program’ was born.

We start part 1 of our conversation with Dan & Aarons stories, leading into conversations on getting started growing food at home or in public open spaces

David is the author of “Covid-19,” Psychological Operations, and the War for Technocracy, Volume 1 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024) and Wall Street, the Nazis, and the Crimes of the Deep State (Skyhorse, 2024). 

He has an undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Oxford University (Christ Church and Worcester College, respectively) and doctorates in German Studies (Duke University) and International Relations (Oxford Brookes University). After 11 continuous years of full-time employment in academia, David left the profession in 2024.

Gigi Foster is a Professor with the School of Economics at the University of New South Wales Business School, having joined UNSW in 2009 after six years at the University of South Australia.  Formally educated at Yale University (BA in Ethics, Politics, and Economics) and the University of Maryland (PhD in Economics), she works in diverse fields including education, social influence, corruption, lab experiments, time use, behavioural economics, and Australian policy. 

Her research contributions regularly inform public debates and appear in both specialised and cross-disciplinary outlets (e.g., Quantitative Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Economic Psychology, Human Relations).  Her teaching, featuring strategic innovation and integration with research, was awarded a 2017 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.  Named 2019 Young Economist of the Year by the Economic Society of Australia, Professor Foster has filled numerous roles of service to the profession and engages heavily on economic matters with the Australian community, including most recently in regard to Covid policy.  Amongst other service roles, she co-founded and runs the Consortium for Inclusive Economics Education at UNSW.  As one of

Australia’s leading economics communicators, Professor Foster writes for both the academic and the popular press and is regularly interviewed on mainstream television and radio programs across the country, and quoted in national print media, about economic matters.  Her regular media appearances include co-hosting The Economists, a national economics talk-radio program and podcast series premiered in 2018, with Peter Martin AM on ABC Radio National.

Along with co-authors Paul Frijters and Michael Baker their book "The Great Covid Panic" discusses the impacts of covid policy on all of society. From the environment, to young children, to small business and the long term implications to the economy, health and democracy.

Helena is linguist, author,  film maker and the founder and director of the international non-profit organisation, Local Futures. Which is a leading voice in the new economy movement, and the convenor of World Localization Day.

She is the author of several books, including ‘Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh’, an eye-opening tale of tradition and change in Ladakh, or “Little Tibet”. Together with a film of the same title, Ancient Futures has been translated into more than 40 languages, and sold half a million copies.
