Changing Forecast | Episode 30814 Sep 202600:23:23

On this week's episode of the #EShow podcast, we head back to 'Nutmeg State' to highlight the Connecticut Nor'Easter, who call the International Skating Center of Connecticut (ISCC) their home rink. The final edition of the summer coaches series features a coach with arguably one of the best playing resumes in the entire league. After playing junior hockey in both the USHL and NAHL, Mike Cichy advanced onto NCAA Division I, hitting the ice for two seasons apiece with the University of North Dakota and Western Michigan University. An NHL draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens, Cichy spent over a decade in pro hockey, before hanging up the skates and getting into coaching this past year. Starting out as an Assistant in year #1 with the Nor'Easter, Cichy worked alongside Nielsson Arcibal as Connecticut developed throughout the 2025-26 season. Now, back for his 2nd year with the program, Cichy will lead the way for the EHLP team, while continuing to assist the EHL squad as well.

Ca-Caw! | Episode 30701 Sep 202600:29:07

On this week's episode of the #EShow podcast, we shift back to Massachusetts and highlight the Seahawks Hockey Club, one of the annual contenders from the Northeast Conference. Richard and the Seahawks are gearing up for a new season, with revenge on their minds, having been eliminated at the Regional Finals each of the past 2 years. Dissecting each loss, one can easily make the case that 1 or 2 bounces could have made all the difference in the Seahawks reaching Providence. Regardless, the EHLP team has served its purpose and more for the organization, as they've been able to develop and move players up to their top club. Richard is proud of what he's produced at the EHLP level, as it has helped further establish the culture the Seahawks have created from top to bottom, in their unique location on the Cape. Richard is looking forward to welcoming in a new group this year, and building off the momentum that they've established over the last few seasons.

Rolling Thunder | Episode 30624 Aug 202600:26:02

On this week's episode of the #EShow podcast, we check off the Union Jr. Thunder, the first team from the Mid-Atlantic Conference. This week's summer coaches series features Sam Tafel, joining the podcast for the very first time. Entering their 5th season in the league, Tafel and the Thunder have taken strides forward each year, highlighted by this past season being their best in franchise history. Of course, the annual improvements in the win-loss columns are easy to recognize and acknowledge, but what also jumps out from the past year are the players the club advanced to the EHL level. Through a great affiliation with the New York Apple Core, Union also saw its first player hit the ice in an NCAA game this past fall. Tafel is confident that Tyler Gobel won't be the last player from the Thunder to move up to the EHL and then onto the NCAA ranks.

Back to defend in 2026-27, Bourdon knows the target on his team's back will be even bigger this year, as the rest of the league looks to dethrone the top dogs. Looking back on the championship run, Bourdon reflects on being pushed to the edge both in the Regional Finals against the Seahawks Hockey Club, and then at the Frozen Finals against the New Jersey 87's. Bourdon will forever be proud of the way his team battled and fought all the way until the final horn in Providence. Now, the next challenge is to do it all over again.

Data Driven | Episode 30410 Aug 202600:43:35

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we cross off the final EHL team in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. The next edition of the summer coaches' series features Matthew Kiernan, who along with owning the New Jersey 87's, also serves as the Head Coach of the program. With five championships to their credit, two in the EHL and three in the EHLP, to go along with 81 NCAA Commitments in 10 years, New Jersey is one of the most well-established and consistent organizations in the league. Their history began at the EHLP level back in 2017-18 season, adding a team in the EHL the following year, and the decade since has been filled with non-stop success on an annual basis. While this past season ended earlier than they had hoped for at the EHL level, Kiernan and the 87's are resetting the way they always do, and ready to establish themselves once again as a true annual contender in both divisions.

Capital Investment | Episode 30228 Jul 202600:45:51

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we shift over to Rhode Island for the next edition of the summer coaches' series, and feature Jeff Perreault and the Providence Capitals. In just three seasons of play,  Perreault and the Capitals have quickly established themselves as one of the NCAA Commitment leaders in the league. The Capitals were one of five teams to reach the double-digit mark this past year, and one of only three teams that can claim they hit that threshold in back-to-back seasons. Anchored by Conner Nicolson, the Co-Rookie of the Year in the EHL, the Capitals took strides forward month after month this past year, en route to the postseason. Despite a First Round exit at the hands of the Connecticut Nor'Easter, it was another positive season for Providence. Now, looking ahead to this upcoming year, Perreault and the Capitals will look to build off of the momentum that they finished the year with, in hopes of returning to the Regional Finals and making another deep postseason run.

Home Cooking | Episode 30121 Jul 202600:46:20

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we stay south for the next edition of the summer coaches' series, and highlight Adam Bartholomay and the Philadelphia Hockey Club. Bartholomay and PHC are gearing up for their 5th season in the league, coming off of their strongest year in franchise history. PHC finished one point shy of last year's EHL regular season title, and claimed the #1 seed in the south for the very first time. Their success was due in large part to how well they played at home throughout the year, as PHC only fell twice on their home ice at Hollydell Ice Arena. Looking ahead, Bartholomay is hoping to build off of the strong 2025-26 campaign with an even better 2026-27 season, and remain hard-to-beat at home.

Wiz Wagon | Episode 29906 Jul 202600:31:12

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we shift back up to Massachusetts for the next edition of the summer coaches' series with Kory Falite from the East Coast Wizards. The Wizards joined the EHL back in the 2014-15 season, the second year of the league, which makes East Coast almost one of the 'Original' franchises. Throughout their 12-year history, the Wizards have displayed a high level of consistency when it comes to placing players into NCAA hockey. Never producing fewer than 7 NCAA Commitments in a single season, the Wizards average 9.75 per year, making the one of the top programs in the league. Falite credits the staff around him and the resources his ownership group provides to the team, for helping to set the Wizards apart. An annual contender in the Northeast, the Wizards name is as well-known as any in New England, and with Falite at the helm, that won't change anytime soon.

Catron hasn't been around since the first day, but this season will mark his 9th year with the Little Flyers' program, as he closes in on a decade in Philadelphia. Catron discusses the history that he has established alongside Anthony Lorusso, as the Little Flyers have displayed remarkable consistency throughout their time in the league. The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to Philadelphia, but what stands out with this program is what the players do once the Little Flyers help them advance to the collegiate ranks, as they begin performing and contributing from the moment they step on campus.

Coming off of the best season in franchise history, Mello is looking forward to the challenge of raising the bar even higher this upcoming year, all while entering the new season with a new target on their back. Mello knows that there are many teams that will be looking to knock them off this year, as HCRI has quickly established themselves as an annual contender for the Regional Finals. With a strong core returning to the program, including Aidan Forcier, the Co-Rookie of the Year from the 2025-26 season, the goal of course is to get back to the Regional Finals and then advance past that stage to reach the EHL Frozen Finals for the very first time. To go along with the victories on the ice, it's also important to note the advancement victories, as in just four seasons, HCRI has already helped 25 players move on to NCAA hockey.

Track Record | Episode 29508 Jun 202600:27:09

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we shift back to Massachusetts for the next edition of the summer coaches' series with Nic Cota from the Express Hockey Club. Coming off of another strong campaign in the EHL, Cota has hit the off-season running, looking to build further on the annual success that they've produced out of Walpole. Year in and year out, the Express are consistently in the ballpark of 30+ victories, to go along with double-digit NCAA Commitments. This on-ice success translates into the Express having established itself as annual contender each and every year to advance to Providence, RI, and the EHL Frozen Finals. In order to maintain that level this upcoming season, Cota is now faced with the challenge of replacing Ville Bodin and his 52 goals from this past season, Lukas Toth and his 29 victories between the pipes, and large group of what was a very deep Express team.

Bear Necessities | Episode 29326 May 202600:38:06

On this week's episode of the #EShow, we shift back south in the summer coaches' series with Jason Kilcoyne from the New Jersey Bears. A little off a month removed from a deep playoff run, Kilcoyne looks back on the journey his team took to Providence. After claiming the franchise's first playoff victory in game #1 of the First Round against the New Jersey 87's, Kilcoyne and the Bears went on to win their first playoff series, followed by division title over the Philadelphia Hockey Club, and then came out on top over H.C. Rhode Island at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Finals. While New Jersey ultimately fell short to the Seahawks Hockey Club in the last game of the Frozen Finals, it was still a memorable postseason run that the Bears will look to build off of this season, and for years to come. While the victories on the ice are something that New Jersey feels very proud of, it's the NCAA and ACHA placements that set them apart, advancing a double-digit total number of players once again in 2025-26.

While no team has committed more players to NCAA programs throughout their history, they've also claimed three playoff championships combined between their two teams, to go along with five regular season championships combined between the two levels. The Avalanche have set an incredible pace and established a golden standard as the 'Peak Development' franchise for all of junior hockey on the east coast.

On this week's episode of the #EShow, hosts Neil and Jake recap the 2026 EHL Frozen Finals, which finished up as arguably the best championship week in the history of the league. With a pair of 'new faces' hitting the ice in the EHL, as well as two 'old dogs' battling it out in the EHLP, this year's Frozen Finals featured a nice blend of something different and unique for the league to showcase in Providence, RI. Ultimately, both series went the distance to game #3, and the 2025-26 season was capped off an epic 'Championship Saturday' this past weekend. It was the Seahawks Hockey Club skating away with their first EHL Championship and the New Hampshire Avalanche following suit at the EHLP level. We would be remised to not give out additional stick taps out to the New Jersey Bears and New Jersey 87's, whom each won on Friday to force each respective series to game #3. That final day was entertaining from start to finish, with adversity at moments, including an accidental fire drill.
