David Allen Lambert: 

David Allen Lambert has been on the staff of American Ancestors/NEHGS since 1993 and is the organization’s Chief Genealogist. David is an internationally recognized speaker on the topics of genealogy and history.

Lambert has published many articles in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, the New Hampshire Genealogical Record, Rhode Island Roots, Mayflower Descendant, and American Ancestors magazine. He has authored and or co-authored in the published genealogies presented to David McCullough, Ken Burns, Angela Lansbury, Michael and Kitty Dukakis, Nathaniel Philbrick, Doris Kearns Goodwin, and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.  He has also published eleven books including A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries (NEHGS, 2018), and Vital Records of Stoughton, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1850 (Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, 2008). David received his B.A. in History from Northeastern University. David is an elected Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston, Mass., and a life member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati and the General Society of the War of 1812. David also serves as the tribal genealogist for the Massachusett Tribe at Punkapoag in Massachusetts. 

Areas of expertise: New England and Atlantic Canadian records of the 17th through 21st century; American and international military records; DNA research; and Native American and African American genealogical research in New England.

Gov. Scott Walker:

Governor Scott Walker was raised with a heart for public service, patriotism, and hard work. He moved to the small town of Delavan, Wisconsin, when he was in third grade. There, his father was a minister and his mother worked part time as a
bookkeeper and secretary. Scott was active in school, sports, church, Scouts, and American Legion’s Badger Boys State and Boys Nation programs.

In June 1993, Scott was elected to the state assembly, where he helped lead the way on welfare reform, public safety, and educational opportunities. In 2002, he was elected to the Milwaukee County executive office. In this position, Scott worked to reform the scandal-ridden county government and faithfully kept
his promise to spend taxpayer money as if it were his own.

In 2008, he won re-election with nearly 60 percent of the vote. On November 2, 2010, Scott was elected the 45th Governor of Wisconsin. Inheriting a $3.6 billion budget deficit, $800 million worth of unpaid bills, and an eight percent unemployment rate, he immediately implemented reforms to renew economic revival, fiscal order, and government accountability in Wisconsin. Scott became the first governor in American history to survive a recall election on June 5, 2012.

He was re-elected in 2014 and sworn into a second term on January 5, 2015.

Scott is currently President of Young America’s Foundation (YAF). He serves on the boards of Students for Life Action, American Federation for Children, and the Center for State-led National Debt Solutions.

Ann Mills-Griffiths serves as Chairman of the bi-annually elected Board of Directors of the National League of POW/MIA Families and retains CEO responsibilities. She served over 30 years as Executive Director and CEO of the nonprofit, 501(c)3 humanitarian organization in Washington, DC. Having stepped aside from administering the League’s national office on August 1, 2011, she currently focuses primarily on policy, operations, and sustaining the League’s financial ability to achieve accounting objectives.  At the request of the Secretary of Defense, she also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Defense Department’s Vietnam War Commemoration and is a member of DAR, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, a Life Member of the DAV Auxiliary and an Honorary Life Member of the Special Operations Association and the Special Forces Association.

Since 1970, the League has fought for the return of all POWs, the fullest possible accounting for the MIAs, and the recovery and identification of the remains of those who died serving our nation during the Vietnam War.  From 1980 through 1992, Ms. Mills-Griffiths represented the families’ views as a founding member of the POW/MIA Interagency Group (IAG), the US Government’s senior-level policy development mechanism for achieving accounting results in the context  of developing bilateral relations with Vietnam and restoring normal bilateral relations with Laos and Cambodia.  She was instrumental in setting up high level negotiations between Vietnam and the United States in 1982-83. Since then, she has continued to represent the POW/MIA families and America’s missing personnel through direct contacts with US and foreign leaders.

Ms. Mills-Griffiths has met frequently with senior officials in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, as well as with Thai, Russian, Chinese and other diplomats and senior officials in an effort to expedite answers. As a recognized leader on POW/MIA issues and recipient of numerous honors, she also has appeared frequently before congressional committees and sub- committees, national and international broadcast media, participated for decades in policy forums dealing with Southeast Asia, and been called upon for advice and counsel by foreign nations facing their own personnel accounting issues.

Commander James B. Mills, USNR, Ms. Mills-Griffiths’ brother, was listed as MIA on September 21, 1966, when the Navy F4B on which he served as Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) disappeared on a night, low-flying bombing mission over North Vietnam.  He was on his second tour, assigned to Fighter Squadron 21, USS Coral Sea.

He also had an exceptional public service career as Deputy Director of the Peace Corps, Deputy Administrator of the Veterans Administration, and Chairman of the CARES Commission. In 2008, Mr. Alvarez was honored as one of the 25 greatest public servants by the Council for Excellence in Government. In the private sector, he founded Conwal in 1987, which he sold in 2002, and Alvarez & Associates in 2004.

Mr. Alvarez is a lifetime member of the Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University, which awarded him its Alumnus of Distinction Award; he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1960. After his return from Vietnam, he received an MS in Operations Research and Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1976 and a JD from The George Washington University in 1983.

Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. was appointed as the 17th president of The Ohio State University by the Board of Trustees on August 22, 2023. He began his tenure at Ohio State on January 1, 2024.

As president, Carter leads the state’s flagship, public research university with six campuses in Ohio and a student body of more than 65,000. Ohio State’s largest campus is in Columbus, the state capital and one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Additionally, the university has campuses in Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Wooster, as well as the nationally recognized Wexner Medical Center, a global research enterprise and leading athletics program. 

Formerly, Carter served as president of the University of Nebraska System, where he was focused on greater access and opportunities for the state’s students and families. He launched the Nebraska Promise, a financial aid program guaranteeing full tuition coverage for low- and middle-income students, and implemented a budget plan that included a two-year tuition freeze. Under his leadership, Nebraska saw system-wide growth in enrollment, including record-setting gains among underrepresented students. Also during his tenure, Nebraska has been ranked among the world’s top 100 institutions for earning research patents and launched plans for a major expansion of programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, as well as a significant enhancement of the medical center’s presence across the state.

Prior to serving as president of the University of Nebraska System, Carter led the U.S. Naval Academy as its longest continuously serving superintendent since the Civil War. During his tenure, the Naval Academy achieved multiple top national rankings while setting institutional records for student success. Carter also previously served as president of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, leading 1,600 resident and 100,000 distance education students pursuing graduate-level education.

Retired Navy Captain Hung Cao came to the United States as a refugee from Vietnam in 1975. After a few years in West Africa, Hung moved to Virginia as a child and is a proud member of the inaugural graduating class of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria. He was commissioned as a Special Operations Officer (Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Deep Sea Diving) from the United States Naval Academy, and served with special operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia. Hung’s non-combat assignments included balancing the Navy’s $140 billion budget at the Pentagon, working with Homeland Security, and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. Hung received his Masters degree in physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, and fellowships at MIT and Harvard. He and his wife April are the parents of five beautiful children. After their thirteenth move across the United States, and around the world, Hung and April moved their family home to Purcellville, Virginia where they have been active in their community and church.

After the War , Eugene graduated from Edinboro State Teachers College with a degree in education.

He opened the first new high school in 50 years in Pittsburgh which he racially integrated integrating 4 high schools into one….Brashear  High School.
