| What They Don't Want You To Know | 06 Sep 2024 | 00:11:13 | |
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses the top six things they don't want you to know about osteoporosis: 1) Flawed imaging, 2) Ignored risk factors, 3) System not designed to cure or reverse osteoporosis, 4) HRT is a powerful tool, 5) Terrible nutrition recommendations, and 6) Exercise is necessary. The healthcare system profits from sickness and doesn't prioritize prevention or cure. It's up to individuals to take charge of their own health.
| Is Low Level Inflammation Impacting Your Bones?? | 15 Aug 2024 | 00:22:05 | |
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses chronic inflammation, a major contributor to various chronic health conditions, including bone loss. It can be caused by poor lifestyle choices, such as a diet high in processed foods and added sugars, lack of exercise or excessive exercise, chronic stress, underlying health conditions, and exposure to toxins. Inflammation leads to bone loss by stimulating osteoclasts and inhibiting osteoblasts, as well as disrupting hormone balance. To reduce chronic inflammation, it is important to focus on an anti-inflammatory diet high in antioxidants, engage in regular exercise that includes resistance training and impact training, practice stress mitigation techniques like meditation and breathwork, and minimize exposure to toxins by eating organic, local, and homegrown foods and avoiding synthetic chemicals.
| NEW STUDY! Hormone Risk vs Fracture Risk | 14 Aug 2024 | 00:28:12 | |
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas reviews a study that was released on the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for bone health. The study is a 20-year follow-up of the Women's Health Initiative, which enrolled over 161,000 postmenopausal women. The study had two hormone trials: a combined therapy of estrogen and synthetic progesterone, and an estrogen-only therapy for women who had a hysterectomy. The combined therapy showed increased risks of blood clots, stroke, and invasive breast cancer, but also a reduction in hip fractures. The estrogen-only therapy showed a reduction in coronary heart disease, heart attacks, and breast cancer incidence. However, the reduction in hip fractures did not persist over the long term. The study also found no significant difference in risk based on age. The findings suggest that estrogen therapy can be beneficial for bone health, but should be part of a comprehensive approach and individualized based on risk factors.

| Will this Device Reduce Menopause Symptoms and Build Bone? Blood Flow Restriction Research | 01 Aug 2024 | 00:38:41 | |
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas discusses blood flow restriction (BFR) bands, also known as Katsu bands, a tool that can provide the benefits of resistance training without the need for heavy weights. BFR bands work by restricting blood flow to the muscles, which stimulates a response similar to that of lifting heavy weights. This can be beneficial for individuals with osteoporosis who may have difficulty lifting heavy objects. BFR bands can be used by a wide range of individuals, from athletes looking for an edge to those recovering from injury or with low muscle mass. However, it is important to use BFR bands safely and consult with a healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions or concerns. | Will This Vegetable Root Heal Your Hormones and Improve Bone Health? | Maca for Menopause Symptoms | 29 Jul 2024 | 00:11:44
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas discusses maca, a supplement that is claimed to improve bone health and hormone levels in peri and postmenopausal women. It is known as an adaptogen and is rich in nutrients. Maca works by increasing estrogen levels in the brain, which then signals the ovaries to produce more estrogen. However, the research on maca is limited and inconsistent. While it has been shown to increase estrogen levels, its impact on bone mineral density is unclear. Maca may be useful for relieving symptoms in premenopausal women and those experiencing hormonal imbalances, but it is not a replacement for estrogen in postmenopausal women. The recommended product is Feminessence.
