Ep 32: The Disruption of Seaspiracy & The Race Against Time to Debunk the Facts
Saison 3 · Épisode 32
jeudi 22 avril 2021 • Durée 54:00
Seaspiracy hit Netflix on March 24th, and I don't think even the vegan community were prepared for the huge impact it was about to have. Trending across the globe and hitting #1 on Netflix in the UK, the power of Seaspiracy cannot be overstated. An outpouring of news articles, statements in response, and a 'debunking' of the facts presented soon followed. Today I'm discussing Seaspiracy, the impact that it's had and some of the criticisms it's received.
In today's episode:
- Responding to: "What about Indigenous fishers? Seaspiracy shouldn't be telling Indigenous communities not to fish."
- Responding to: "It’s not right to tell the consumer what to do, Seaspiracy is gaslighting you."
- Aquaculture Alliance & false statements.
- What has the pushback from the industry been like so far?
- Going in depth on the Earth Island Institute/Dolphin-Safe conversation.
- Facing speciesism: caring about dolphins more than tuna.
- Explaining the great Pacific Garbage Patch statistic.
- Did Cowspiracy force environmental organisations to change their messaging, and will Seaspiracy do the same?

Ep 31: The Full Story of How I Became Vegan & Never Looked Back
Saison 3 · Épisode 31
samedi 3 avril 2021 • Durée 54:42
In today's episode I look back upon the moments in my life that acted as building blocks towards me making the switch from passionate KFC lover to vegan.
I used to love eating fried chicken, I was always up for a trip to the zoo, and as a child I laughed at vegetarians. So, what happened? And how can reflecting back on what helped us make the switch to vegan help us become better advocates?

Ep 22: The Death of Regan Russell & The Danger of Bill 156
Saison 2 · Épisode 22
jeudi 2 juillet 2020 • Durée 34:18
On June 19th 2020, Regan Russell was killed. An activist since the 1970s, she was at Fearman’s Pork slaughterhouse with Toronto Pig Save for a regular vigil. During these vigils the activists have an agreement with the slaughterhouse where the trucks stop outside for 2 minutes, so the activists can approach and give the pigs water and show them some comfort.
However, on that day, one of the truck drivers ran Regan over and killed her.
In today's episode, I discuss how the new Bill 156, which was passed just a few days before, could have potentially pushed the truck driver to act in a way that ultimately ended a human life.
Bill 156 exists to prevent activists from filming animal suffering on farms and during transport, making it illegal to do so.
Ep 20: Can Vegans Have Pets? The Pet Industry Explained
Saison 2 · Épisode 20
mercredi 10 juin 2020 • Durée 37:19
In this highly requested episode, I discuss the many questions surrounding vegan pets. Should dogs and cats be vegan? And are you any less vegan if you feed your pets meat? And should we even have pets in the first place?

Ep 19: The Last Bailout - Why We Need to Reform Agricultural Subsidies
Saison 2 · Épisode 19
mardi 26 mai 2020 • Durée 33:03
This week I discuss the $19 billion bail out that the Trump administration has given to US farmers, and the wider issue of subsidising animal agriculture in general. I also discuss the UK government’s new plan for subsiding agriculture in the wake of leaving the EU, and how their new system could actually pave the way for a complete reform that would incentivise the shift to a plant-based food system.

Ep 18: "We're Modern Day Slaves" - The Truth About COVID-19 & The People Who Kill Animals
Saison 2 · Épisode 17
mercredi 13 mai 2020 • Durée 41:45
In this episode I delve into the current slaughterhouse situation in the US, talking not only about the outbreaks of COVID-19 in US facilities and the effect that is having on slaughterhouse workers, but also how slaughterhouses foster an environment where workers suffer from mental health problems such as PTSD, drug and alcohol dependency, social isolation and emotional repression. I reflect on some of my personal experiences with slaughterhouses and slaughterhouse workers, and I also discuss how the current pandemic is driving people towards vegan options.

Ep 17: The Pandemic That Could Have Been Prevented - In Conversation with Mic the Vegan
Saison 2 · Épisode 16
vendredi 1 mai 2020 • Durée 40:12
Today I speak with Mic the Vegan, a highly influential vegan educator and YouTuber, about what’s happening right now in slaughterhouses in relation to COVID-19, as well as the possibility of the coronavirus also being able to be spread through animals such as pigs.
We also discuss whether or not a whole foods plant-based diet can help us in the fight against the pandemic, and how our diets could be making us more vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Ep 16: Can We Stop a Future Pandemic? - In Conversation with Dr. Michael Greger M.D
Saison 2 · Épisode 15
mercredi 15 avril 2020 • Durée 33:16
Dr. Greger is a physician, New York Times bestselling author, and internationally recognised speaker on nutrition, food safety, and public health issues. Dr Greger has also worked on the human health implications of intensive animal agriculture, including the routine use of non-therapeutic antibiotics and growth hormones in animals raised for food, and the public health threats of industrial factory farms. In his speech from over a decade ago, ‘Pandemics: History & Prevention’, Dr Greger spoke about the inextricable link between animal use and zoonotic disease, as well as the dangers associated with industrialised farming of birds and pigs. In this episode of The Disclosure Podcast we discuss those dangers, as well as how to prevent the next pandemic.

Ep 15: Vegan Infighting & Why Your Family Won't Go Vegan - In Conversation with Dr. Melanie Joy
Saison 2 · Épisode 15
dimanche 12 avril 2020 • Durée 35:42
During my time in Berlin late last year, I had the honour of talking to Dr. Melanie Joy, a Harvard educated psychologist, public speaker and author who coined the term ‘carnism’. Throughout our conversation we talk about handling divisions with non-vegan friends and family, as well as discussing how to create healthier and more effective communication habits for our vegan advocacy in general.

Ep 14: In the Midst of a Pandemic, How is COVID-19 Impacting Animal Agriculture?
Saison 2 · Épisode 14
samedi 4 avril 2020 • Durée 45:04
Breaking down the latest news surrounding COVID-19 in relation to our exploitation of animals. Last weekend The Guardian ran a headline article on their homepage 'Is factory farming to blame for coronavirus?' - which brought up the censorship of my recent Instagram post on 'COVID-19'. Additionally, I discuss how the current crisis is impacting animals, slaughterhouse workers and dairy farmers. Most worryingly, I discuss whether it is possible that another pandemic hits us whilst we're in the middle of COVID-19.
