8. Chris Dunlop Art: Social Media Marketing for Artists
Saison 1 · Épisode 8
lundi 9 septembre 2024 • Durée 01:16:05
Get to know the hands, head, and heart behind Chris Dunlop, an automotive design and render artist. Chris attributes his artistic style using sharpie markers, airbrushing techniques, and pinstriping to his beginning career as an automotive painter where he was officially dubbed "Pinstripe Chris". After several years of creating artwork and painting cars full time, Chris and his wife Caitlin helped opened up a paint & body shop where they specialized in classic and exotic cars. During that time, Chris created the infamous Sharpie Mustang and Sharpie Camaro, where he used only Sharpie Markers to create an entire paint scheme on each car. He also started to offer custom hand-drawn renderings for their clients at the body shop to display potential paint schemes & build ideas. Eventually, Chris saw the demand for his artwork and made the leap to become a full-time artist using Instagram as his number one marketing tool. He has since garnered over 800 thousand followers on the social media platform with short and highly entertaining/impressive videos that highlight his unique art making process. Although he is not classically trained in the arts, Chris believes that repairing cars and painting them in the body shop early on in his journey provided him a unique education and strong understanding of lighting and shapes. From his studio is Southern California, he now offers highly collectable fine art paintings featuring a variety of luxury automotive brands.
