By creating a teacher membership, this has allowed us to build greater stability and longevity. Lunch Listen: What Your About Website Page is Missing26 Aug 202200:11:33
What Should Be The Focus of Your About Website Page?

Your about website page (ya know, the one people land on first when they type in your URL) is the most important real estate on your whole website. People will form an opinion about you and your business in less than a second from seeing your website welcome page, so you’ve got to optimize it to give the best first impression. And after looking at hundreds of teachers’ websites, I’m going to spill the tea on what your about page is probably missing.

Shocker: Your Website About Page Shouldn’t Be All About You

“But, Kayse, isn’t my website the place people come to connect and learn about me?” And my answer to that is yes, buuuuut there’s more to your about me page than telling people about you. That’s what I’m going to teach you in this short episode you can listen to this weekend and switch some things up on your website welcome page to make the most out of that first impression.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • What your about website page is missing
  • How to utilize connection marketing on your website about page
  • How to update your about me page to optimize it for the best first impression as a program creator, physical products seller, or tutor.

Schedule Your Time as a Teacherpreneur24 Aug 202200:24:19
From overwhelm to scheduling success as a teacherpreneur

Managing your time as a teacherpreneur is that golden egg that everyone seems to want…and yet if I teach you how to better manage your time, you may feel more overwhelmed than when you start this episode. I could say things like, “Color coordinate your Google Calendar as a teacher entrepreneur for best results,” and I could even show you exactly how I do it with my calendar, but again, that may not be what you need as an entrepreneur teacher. I could also say things like, “Go get the new Pioneer Woman’s Planner and take everything from your Google Calendar and place it in there for a second check.” Yet, this, too – while helpful – may not give you the results you need to manage your teacher schedule. So how can you successfully schedule your time as a teacherpreneur?

Your time-multiplier teacherpreneur roadmap

So instead of telling you how to manage your time as you work on your teacher business, I want to share with you some unique ways to multiply your time and find gaps inside of your days to schedule your time – not manage it. This, in other words, is your teacherpreneur course to time scheduling. Ready to learn how and where teachers thrive with Kayse Morris teacherpreneur leader? Schedule some time and press play on today’s episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Where teacher’s thrive
  • Where you’re getting stuck inside of teacherpreneurship
  • How not planning out your day the night before is causing you stress in your teacherpreneur business
  • How to stop making the, “I-work-well-under-pressure” excuse as a teacher entrepreneur
  • How to schedule and multiply your time as a teacherpreneur
  • When to create slack in your teacher schedule for optimal performance

What does success look like to you this back to school season10 Aug 202200:22:25
Whatever your back to school plan, start by defining your success

One glorious back to school season, someone once said to me, “Kayse, it seems like you are constantly having a new spiritual awakening.” Yes, friends…insert eye roll here. At least, insert the eye roll that I thought that someone was making because I could feel the judgment through their words. Eye roll or not, the truth of the matter is this: yes, yes, I did – and yes, I do – reinvent my idea of success every back to school season. Afterall, finding new awakenings throughout life is part of the excitement. So I’m curious: what does your back to school vision for success look like?

A “Visionary” back to school success roadmap

In today’s podcast episode, I want to give you the tools to answer the question: “What does success look like this back to school season?” Plus, I want you to consider: what back to school activities and back to school resources do you need to make the most out of this back to school window of time? Back to school only comes once a year. So let’s make the most of it. To answer, we’re going to walk through a step by step method that I currently use. It’s the same method I return to regularly when I lose track of what I want. The secret? It starts with “Vision.” So if you’re ready to redefine what success looks like, if you’re ready to navigate your teacher business like never before, open your notebook and get your pencil ready. Your vision awaits you when you press play on today’s episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why back to school is the perfect time to redefine your idea of success
  • How to prioritize your life into four quadrants to get the most out of this season
  • Why “being happy” is one of the best back to school resources
  • How to normalize the success mindset
  • Why you need a back to school plan

Why Teachers are Guilt Prone and What to Do About It13 Jul 202200:23:12
From “Guilt Prone” to Freedom from Guilt

Teachers, raise your hand if you’ve ever felt guilt prone in the following situations: you feel the need to apologize every time that you’re late for work. You feel guilt grief when you ask for time off for some important event. You can’t help feeling overwhelmed as a teacher if you receive less than stellar reviews on your teacher assessment. You didn’t get a job you applied for, so you send an email asking for what you could have done better. Does any of this sound familiar? I’m willing to bet it does. Friends, I have soooo been there. And I’m here to tell you – there’s hope. But first, know this: guilt is subconscious. That means that – for a number of possible reasons – you’ve been preconditioned to feel guilty.

Start by acknowledging your guilt prone tendencies

In today's episode, I’m going to talk about why teachers are guilt prone and what to do about it. Maybe you feel guilt over leaving teaching. Or maybe you feel guilt for leaving your job. Perhaps you feel guilt quitting your job. Whatever the reason, I’m going to share with you a step by step process on how to let go of guilt and how to start living with more freedom. Removing guilt is the first step to living the life of your dreams. Ready to start living with less guilt and more freedom? Accept, acknowledge, and listen to this episode!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How your beautiful, big teacher-heart is leading you to feeling overwhelmed as a teacher
  • What guilt does to a person
  • How to start saying “no” to what you don’t want so that you may start saying “yes” to what matters
  • Why you are not responsible for everything that happens at your school

Imposter Syndrome – What it is and how to kick it22 Jun 202200:25:57
What is imposter syndrome?

For anyone who has ever felt like this before, here is an imposter syndrome definition: Imposter syndrome is a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success. ‘Imposters' suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence. Yes, unfortunately, imposter syndrome is real. And yes, fortunately, something can be done! Truthfully, we all – myself included – struggle with this at some point in our journey, friend. So while your personal imposter symptoms may take many shapes or forms, to walk a path to your limitless success, we need to look it squarely in the face. That’s what we’re going to do on today’s episode.

Kicking it to the curb: how to overcome imposter syndrome once and for all

Here’s a list of questions that may indicate that you’re dealing with imposter syndrome:

  • Are you certified in middle school but want to share resources for another age group?
  • Are you a first year teacher but still feel like you could create programs or services to sell?
  • Are you ready to retire but still feel like you could bring something vital to the education table?
  • Do you want to leave the profession but feel like making money from your teaching experience is in the cards?

If you answered yes to any of the above or if you relate to any of the above, you might be dealing with imposter syndrome. So on today’s episode, I’m going to lay out the action steps you need to kick imposter syndrome to the curb. Before I do, however, here’s a quote from the queen of writing, AKA Shonda Rhimes: “I am not lucky. You know what I am? I am smart, I am talented, I take advantage of the opportunities that come my way and I work really, really hard. Don’t call me lucky. Call me a bad*ss.” Woohoo! I couldn’t agree more. Are you ready to become one, too? Start by listening to this episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • What imposter syndrome is
  • Imposter syndrome quotes to help you ward off feelings of unworthiness
  • How to overcome it
  • Why imposter syndrome exists
  • Why you may have feelings of imposter syndrome in the first place

3 Ways Teachers Can Make Money This Summer15 Jun 202200:24:30
What online education can teach you about making money

What online education looks like today is very different than what online education once was. And what online education looks like tomorrow, well, here’s the deal, friend: education is changing forever. Education trends have fast forwarded to a dynamic future filled with unlimited teaching potential. And best of all, there’s no indication that k 12 education trends will ever slow. “Is online education the future?” Yes, yes it is. And what online education is now is only a slice of what it will become. Teaching in the future will be so much bigger than anything you ever dreamed of.

Are you ready for what online education will become?

My mom was the first person to share the expression, “If he wanted to, he would.” I was convinced my high school sweetheart really loved me, but my mom knew better. She knew because I was the one chasing him. I was the one always trying to make plans, always trying to hang out. She couldn’t tell me the cold hard truth, so she just left it at this: “If he wanted to, he would.” I remember thinking she was crazy, but she was so right. While preparing for this episode on what online education will become, that phrase kept coming back into my head, but in a new way. I kept thinking: if you wanted to make extra money this summer, you would. Ouch! If that was uncomfortable, everyone struggles with this at some point in their journey, friend. You are not alone. That’s why today and for the rest of the summer, I’m giving you all the ways, tips, how-tos, and so much more. If you want to find out what the future of education is and how you can be a part of it while making more money than you ever thought possible, then listen to this episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why education trends for the future start with influence
  • Why online education jobs follow a number of defined paths
  • How online education for adults is as simple as following a plan
  • What online education will teach you about making more money outside of the classroom

How Teachers Can Attract More Income With Less Work, More Play25 May 202200:36:42
Less Work, More Play or how to work less and enjoy more as a teacher

Once upon a time, the phrase, “Less work, more play,” would have sounded like a fantastical claim. It sounds like the kind of thing – had someone said it to me – that I’d have internally rolled my eyes at. I come from a blue collar family, afterall. When I was young, my daddy worked 80 hours most weeks in a pressed white shirt, board straight tie, and his one nice coat. Most mornings, he was gone before the sun came up. Most nights, he was home just in time for dinner. And each evening, I’d watch him polish his shoes to get ready for the next day. I was taught that, “The more I work, the more money I make.” But, friend, I’ve come to see that you can’t attract multiple streams of income with this sort of thinking. Instead, I’d like you to learn how to earn more income while working even less. Is it impossible for you to believe that you might create a life with less work and more play? Then read on!

A new mindset to work smarter not harder

On today’s podcast episode, I’m going to help you set out on a mission to attract anything you want in your life. And before you assume that this is going to be another podcast on manifesting – I say that word because it is so hot in today’s terminology and it has so many loaded meanings – I'm here to tell you that this is a podcast on attracting income and fixing your mindset from, “the harder I work, the more money I make,” to “the less I work, the more I make.” I’m going to share with you ten secrets that took me years to discover. I want to give you 10 ways you can attract more income with less work and more play right now! Meaning, you can, as James Wedmore once said, “work less and make more.” Ready to change your mind and learn how? Then press play on this episode…

The Teacher's Guide to How to Be Successful With Etsy with Taylor & Katie Smith18 May 202200:32:10
How to Be Successful With Etsy as a CEO Teacher®

One huge question that I often get here at The CEO Teacher® podcast is, “How can I be successful with Etsy?” It’s a great question, friends, and while I may not be the most experienced at selling on Etsy, my two guests today are. And with all of their how-to-sell-on-Etsy tips, I want you to hear – first-hand – how you might start to sell on Etsy successfully, also. So whether it’s digital products, physical products, or even stickers that your heart is intent on selling, my guests, Taylor & Katie Smith from the Studio Sisters, are not only going to answer, “Is selling on Etsy profitable?” They’re going to show you how being successful Etsy sellers is as easy as starting a Facebook profile.

Selling on Etsy made simple

Before learning how to sell on Etsy, Taylor was a teacher, then a CEO, then public speaker, creative business expert, and podcast host. Katie, likewise, was a self-taught and award-winning surreal artist. Together, they now run Studio Sisters, a creative powerhouse that produces vinyl stickers and is ranked in the top 1% of all Etsy shops globally. Knowing that the answer to the question, “How to be successful with Etsy?” can seem like a challenge, Taylor and Katie teach small business owners how to grow their Etsy shops. So if you’re ready to get crafty and learn how to sell on Etsy, then create the space to join the ranks of successful Etsy sellers by FIRST listening to this episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why selling on Etsy can be more than just selling physical products
  • Why one key ingredient to being among the most successful Etsy sellers is to create a unique experience for your customers
  • How to sell on Etsy
  • What to sell on Etsy
  • Why it’s as easy to get started on Etsy as making a Facebook profile
  • How searching for the thing you might want to sell is a good first step.

Less Scrolling, More Living: A Mindset Shift for CEO Teachers®11 May 202200:23:17
The mindset shift that changed my life

While preparing for today’s episode on mindset shift examples, I had to – surprisingly – shift my mindset. Why? Because in my research things turned out a little different than I expected. Before writing this episode, I took my changing-your-mindset hypothesis to the Level 2 CEO Teacher® Membership Community. I asked them, “So when you get caught up scrolling on social media or looking at TpT stores or focusing on other, more seemingly successful teacher-authors…what thoughts go through your head?” And, friend, I thought I knew the answer! I assumed they’d tell me, “Kayse, I harbor negative thoughts about those people!” Or, “Kayse, I’m so jealous of them!” But let me tell you: I was waaaaaaaaaay off.

A simple mindset shift to move toward a life you love

Friends, my students weren’t jealous. My students weren’t even envious. No. Rather, my Level 2 CEO Teacher ® students were VERY clear on how they felt. And it all seemed to boil down to the same response. My students needed help with how to navigate the feeling, “I don’t measure up!” Yes, a tectonic shift in mindset was needed. So what came next? Find out by listening to this episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How to shift your mindset away from, “why would anyone buy my stuff when it’s already been done by someone else?”
  • Things to avoid to shift your mindset toward less hustle and more impact outside of the four walls of your classroom
  • How success begins by changing your mindset toward “frameworks”
  • How to avoid a negative mindset and create more freedom in your life
  • Why mindset shift examples can be the people you admire
  • How to NOT get stuck copying your heros

5 Must-Haves to Create the Perfect CEO Teacher Collaboration04 May 202200:26:49
The Top 5 Strategies for Teacher Collaboration as an Entrepreneur Strategies for a teacher collaboration may come in many forms. From working together on a blog post to creating a summit or professional development opportunity to sharing each other's info on social media, teacher collaboration strategies are plentiful. Strategies for the best teacher collaboration, on the other hand, may be more nuanced. Take, for example, Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Within it, habit 4 of 7 in Dr. Covey’s book focuses on thinking win/win in everything you do. In terms of “how to collaborate with other teachers,” I’d add – swap the words “everything you do” with “teacher collaboration strategies!” It’s that simple. In other words, the best teacher collaboration examples are formed on a character-based code for human interaction. Strategies for a teacher collaboration begin with being human

On today’s episode, I’m sharing 5 teacher collaboration examples and benefits. Friend, we’re going to explore the gamet of teacher collaboration tools and mindset shifts. But, first, you must remember: everything – and I mean EVERYTHING – that you do with a person inside of a collaboration should be to mutually benefit BOTH of you. And at different stages in your business, this might look very different! So are you ready to explore how to collaborate with other teachers? Then remember the old adage that, “sharing is caring” and start by listening to this episode!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why your collaboration should begin with doing your homework: make sure the collaboration is with a good human!
  • Why one of the best tools is a written agreement
  • Why your teacher collaboration, like any test in the classroom, needs a good timeframe
  • Why strategies for teacher collaborations don’t just happen overnight
  • And why to achieve success in anything you need to go all in!

What I Learned Creating a Multimillion-Dollar Membership for Teachers27 Apr 202200:38:38
10 life lessons from a multi-million dollar membership for teachers

Although this isn’t my typical podcast, it’s one that I have enjoyed thinking through the process. And I hope that the 10 life lessons I’ve learned since creating a multi-million dollar membership for teachers can somehow help you on your online journey as a teacher. As you’ll soon hear, some of these life-lessons from The CEO Teacher Academy®  to the CEO Teacher Membership® are profound (and they took me years to find the answers to) and, while others may sound simple, they still took years to develop.

What you need to know about teacher memberships

On the road to creating The CEO Teacher Programs®, what did we learn in the process? Whew, we learned a lot! But I want you to know this – unless we are in launch thickness (which is about 4 weeks a year), we live an easy-going, carefree, fun-filled job/life. We have found the potion to put a trance on the workforce. Our team functions like a well-oiled machine: working 4 days a week and getting tons of vacation time. But, friends, it hasn’t always looked like this. Building a membership for teachers that functions like a well-oiled machine takes time to build! In fact, when I first hired a team, I was miserable. I cried nearly every day. And then when my business skyrocketed, I was the loneliest I had ever been. But then came a critical turning point in 2020 (and it was UGLY). To create the teacher membership I'd dreamed up, I would have to either sink or swim. Yet somehow, I began to fly. How’d I do it? Swoop on over to your favorite podcast player and find out by playing this episode!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The 10 critical lessons-learned making a membership for teachers
  • Why deciding to fix my online course for teachers was the tipping point to success
  • How The CEO Teacher School® grows from the sum of the people involved
  • Why everything you need to create a teacher membership or an online course for teachers is already inside of you
  • Why The CEO Teacher Programs® decided to put on blinders (and what happened as a result)
  • Why The CEO Teacher® decided to slow down before speeding up

How to Build a Brand that Lasts a Lifetime with Lauren Denny20 Apr 202200:34:14
How to build a brand online, offline, or even…on the farm

Even though my guest today, Lauren Denny, started her first business not that long ago, in her short time operating MULTIPLE businesses – I believe – she has stumbled on how to build a brand that will last a lifetime. I wanted Lauren on the show today because I thought she’d bring a unique perspective as to what a teacher has done to build a brand that others can see themselves in. And, guys, she does NOT disappoint! I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that this is my favorite interview to date. As you’ll hear, Lauren shares not only how to build a brand on social media and what building a brand on instagram looks like, she also shares about her journey from life in the classroom, to wanting something more, to finding happiness that she never knew existed with her businesses. Friends, I hope you enjoy this delightful interview half as much as I did on how to build a brand online. And I hope it inspires you to jump feet first into building a brand of your own.

From building a business to building a brand with recognition

Here’s a little more: Lauren Denny is a former teacher turned first generation farmer who started a sign company, Simply Stained Shop, and an event ranch, Simply Country Ranch. Additionally, Lauren’s know-how on how to build a brand online evolved from Teachers Pay Teachers author, wood sign builder, children’s book author, farmer, and event planner. According to Lauren, the answer to how to build a brand on social media is as simple as reaching an audience where they are. In other words, it's just like teaching! Today, Lauren lives in Oklahoma with her husband, two bonus kiddos, and her two hundred plus animals. Ready to plant the seeds to building your brand? Then let's get our hands dirty and dig into this episode…

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How Lauren’s journey to building a brand started with Teachers Pay Teachers
  • How to build brand recognition
  • How to build a brand on social media (even with physical products)
  • Why taking a leap and learning along the way can catalyze building a brand
  • What teaching, livestock, Peloton, and Crossfit have to do with brand building
