| He's Gone! | 28 Oct 2025 | 00:53:08 | |
Ross Hall and me recorded a podcast this evening about the Hearts game that morphed into a discussion about recruitment and where it may have gone wrong (and that pod will be up for Subcribers this week). We finish the pod. Ross goes off to read badtime stories and I go to make a cup tea. Then what starts as a trickle of whatsapps from informed friends soon turns into an avalanche and at 9:44pm Celtic release a statement confirming the departure of Brendan. Then at 9:59pm we have the personal statement of our 34% shareholder and goodness gracious me!!!! Anyway, after stories and a cuppa, Ross and I jumped back on for this emergency podcast. Brendan’s gone. Wow! Enjoy… This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit thecelticunderground.substack.com/subscribe

| Andrew H in conversation with...Alan Rough | 09 Oct 2025 | 00:50:28 | |
Alan Rough - where do we start. For younger listeners he’s the light hearted pundit. For older listeners he’s the afro’d keeper of the ill-faited Argentina 78 World Cup campaign and for many he’s just Thistle’s keeper. Some will have that memory of his brief time in goals for Celtic but did you know it could have been a much longer spell between the Celtic sticks is Jock Stein had got his way and Roughie would have loved that. Roughie wanted to play for Celtic. Here’s Andrew and Alan Rough in conversation. Enjoy… This is a public episode. | Well, Well Well - everyone loves a last minute winner | 06 Oct 2025 | 00:20:11
After arriving late because I was watching my mate come 4th for over 55s in the Glasgow Half Marathon, I made my own mad dash across the city to watch our beloved hoops and good ness I wasn’t expecting that! A goal in the first half of a game. Conceeding 2 goals to go behind and then coming from behind to score including an injury time winner. Gotta love football. Also, there was the unusual sight of an anti-board banner in the main stand. It was facing out towards the main stand and not the board who would have been around 6 ft away. We won. Magic. There’s a lot going on at Celtic and for those asking “where’s your fan protest podcast?” like Christmas it’s coming. | Brendan Presser 12th Sept 2025 | 12 Sep 2025 | 00:37:01
Brendan Rodgers Presser Box office Brendan. There’s no other way to describe today’s press conference. If you get the chance there’s the wee nods and winks. He know what he’s doing and this is explosive. The coub should do better in transfer windows. After the window he wasn’t angry, he just felt empty. The story in The Sun last Saturday was cowardly. He know who did it. He works closely with Michael, Dermot & Chris. Michael & Chris are great guys who work every day for the betterment of Celtic. He knows who wrote the story. Michael & Dermot are good guys who he works closely with….are you getting the picture. I (Harry) got to ask the final question. | To the car park? | 02 Sep 2025 | 01:20:05
Nothing happened at Ibrox. It was a nothing game. Nothing happened in the window. We signed one player of Celtic quality. And yet out of this nothingness the bhoys manage to create a 1-hour podcast. Numbed by inaction, the bhoys sound more resigned than angry. Ross sets out why he believes the Head of Football Operations should take responsibility and Harry points the finger at the largest shareholder behaving like the owner and making executive decisions. | The Celtic Underground - Huddlebreakdown Collab (Pt1) | 05 Jul 2025 | 00:58:41
Many, many, many… (enough) moons ago, when Eddie presented and Harry was just an occassional guest the Celtic podcast world had few places to get your fan chat but like the famous Christmas truce of 1914, Eddie & The Homebhoys took their ball out onto no-mans land and provided a CU/Homebhoys crossover. These bevy filled pods slipped off into distant memories and were replaced by the siloed listening habits of the Celtic faithful through the explosion of fan podcasts more numerous than managers of other Glasgow clubs. Would we see the likes of the Homebhoys/CU collabs? Could we once again see two pods extend a hand of frienship across the wire? Yes we bloody well can! Hurrahh you all shout! The Huddlebreakdown extended that hand of friendship and we yanked (I said YANKED) them out of the trench, slapped down the jumpers for goalposts, sifted through our sack of cliches to say “come on over to our place, we’re having a party!” This is part 1 of a two our podcast special with Alan, Juco James, Eddie Pearson, Ross Hall, Harry Brady (and guest starring Andrew H) to discuss ALL the hot topics of the moment. From Brendan’s future, through to Tony Bloom’s Hearts, a past it guy’s book selling to an old rocker’s Glastonbury set this is everything you need. It’s like the Beano Summer Special merging with 200AD. It’s that good! Once you’ve listened to Part 1, jump over to (How the f’k did that big banner arrive on the page?) | Paradise - The Celtic origin movie | 14 May 2025 | 00:59:49
You may not know Peter Broughan but you will be familiar with his work. The producer of Rob Roy, The Flying Scotsman and Your Cheatin’ Heart (among others) has turned his attention to his great passion for Celtic and has set in motion the production of Paradise - the film that tells the story for the formation of our club. Please listen to or watch the podcast and if interested go to: https://gofund.me/aa8c6ba9 Paradise is a compelling narrative that dramatises one strand of the tragically eternal immigrant experience. The film is centred on the foundation of Celtic Football Club by the post-famine Irish community in Glasgow in 1888. The lead character is the Marist teacher Brother Walfrid, who had survived "the great hunger" as a child in Sligo. The club's founding mission statement encapsulated his charitable vision. "A football club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and the unemployed" If you want to know more about the film you can watch on youtube You can fund it by clicking here This is a public episode.
