Business Lessons from Taylor Swift09 Nov 202300:36:34

I think it’s important to keep an open mind and look in some unconventional places for business insights and inspiration at times — and right now there is no better place to look than at Taylor Swift. How to Feel More Confident with Stiva Sinanan12 Oct 202300:46:03

When you feel stuck in a career that isn’t serving you, you need to have the courage to think about what you REALLY want to do – even when no one else around you is taking that step.

In this inspirational episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I sit down with Stiva Sinanan, a fitness trainer and coach whom you may recognize as a member of the Team Teal on CBC’s reality competition Canada's Ultimate Challenge (and a repeat MamaCon speaker!). While his team may have lost the big prize to Team Black, Stiva is no stranger to determination. He once cycled from Toronto to Montreal to raise money for charity – a ride that took over six days to complete!

Stiva has been just as determined when it comes to his business. When he decided to leave his six-figure career to follow his passion, his colleagues thought he was crazy, but he wasn’t deterred and took the plunge! Now, he’s doing the work that lights him up — and helping others live better, healthier lives!

During our conversation, we dig into the links between body confidence and business confidence, and explore the importance of seeking joy in all areas of your life. Get ready to learn the simple exercises that will help you to increase your body confidence, the mindset trick that will lead you to be more courageous in your decision-making, and why the doubts of those around us may reflect their own fears, rather than their belief in our capabilities.

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

·        The decision that helped Stiva overcome his low confidence and build a thriving business that brings him joy

·        The toxicity of the comparison game – and how to break free for good

·        Two powerful questions that you should be asking yourself every day

What I Would Do Differently28 Sep 202300:23:02

This episode of The Business of Thinking Big was inspired by a thought-provoking conversation I had during a strategy call with a member of the Mamas & Co. community. During this call, Courtney Martin, founder of the amazing mamapreneur-focused Quadrant Bookkeeping, asked me:

“If you were to look back on your first year of business, what would you do (or what would you do differently) now that you’ve had all this experience?”

That’s a GREAT question!

Over the last decade of my entrepreneurial journey (including the six years since quitting my day job), I’ve learned a lot… and much of what I’ve learned could have helped me to build my business far more quickly, joyfully, and easefully during those early years. This is why I love coaching — I love sharing my hard-won knowledge in order to help other women entrepreneurs avoid common pitfalls, understand their best next steps, access the resources they need, and make the powerful mindset shifts that will allow them to grow and scale their businesses with more confidence!

In this episode, I share the top five things that I would DEFINITELY do differently if I were able to redo the first few years of building my business, knowing what I know now. Whether you’re in your first year of business or your fifth, you’ll find some valuable golden nuggets in this episode!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • The biggest mistake I made when it came to my marketing — and what YOU should be prioritizing
  • Why I wasn’t taking full advantage of the social media tools available (and how to maximize your own impact today!)
  • How to find the right balance when it comes to paying yourself and investing back into your business

Finding the Right Support with Chris McMartin21 Sep 202300:35:39

One of the most challenging parts of entrepreneurship is the feeling of isolation. As entrepreneurs (and especially as women and mompreneurs!), we may often feel as though no one understands us. While well-meaning loved ones may be on the sidelines cheering us on, we can still feel alone in our day-to-day decision-making. Having a community and network that really gets where you’re coming from, what you’re struggling with, and how to support you is absolutely priceless!

In other words, Chris is the PERFECT guest to talk about this episode’s topic!

In this conversation, Chris and I take a DEEP dive into the different types of support that can smooth the path of entrepreneurship and help you confidently grow as a leader. We chat about mentorship, money, and MamaCon — you won’t want to miss it!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌

  • The underappreciated benefits of mentorship and the unique approach of the Scotiabank Women Initiative® Mentor Program
  • Why peer support is important on a practical and an emotional level
  • A valuable resource that can help you find access to capital to fund your growth

Top Social Media Trends14 Sep 202300:28:21

It’s really easy to spend time scrolling Instagram or Facebook, watching Reels or TikToks, and reading captions. It can be a lot harder to create content — and even more challenging to create content that truly connects with your dream clients!

In order to make real impact, your content needs to do a few things. It needs to stand out from the noise, it needs to be relevant to your audience (by entertaining, inspiring, or offering valuable info), and it needs to guide people to take the next step toward working with you. If you’ve been struggling to upgrade your social media strategy, this episode of The Business of Thinking Big is for you!

I share the current best practices for social strategy, what I’m doing for my own brand, and what I’m consuming in order to find inspiration. Listen now to learn how to keep your audience watching, reading, clicking, liking, sharing, and swiping!

In this episode, you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • How to keep your social media visuals fresh and impactful and inspire action
  • Which information should go in your images — and what belongs in your captions, instead!

Levelling-Up your Mind & Business with Jaime Gennaro07 Sep 202300:46:39

Sometimes the business that you’ve built is no longer the business that you want to run — and in order to regain your passion, drive, and joy, you may need to make some changes. This could look like updating your ideal client avatar, retooling your offers, or shifting to an entirely new business model… or it might just mean recognizing the ways in which you’re already closer to your dream business than you may think!

My amazing guest Jaime Gennaro is a business coach and consultant who is on a mission to take the pain away from entrepreneurship and business ownership! Jaime teaches her clients the tactics that help them connect to their own unique way of running their business and lead their teams with joy, rather than just following the crowd and relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

When I met Jaime, she was already running a VERY successful business, but she didn’t feel that it allowed her to truly work in her zone of genius, use her strongest skill set, or experience the thrill of a challenge. During this conversation, Jaime and I discuss her business transformation, how she shifted from playing small to thinking BIGGER, and the small changes she made that allowed her to not only serve her dream clients effectively, but to continue to stretch outside of her comfort zone and feel challenged and fulfilled!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • What happened when Jaime turned off her sales funnel — and how she gently guided prospects onto her new path!
  • How to infuse your work days with more confidence and joy (even when you dislike sales calls!)
  • Jaime’s biggest wins and transformations from the last six months

Guest bio: Jaime Gennaro is a business growth consultant, executive coach, and host of the Business for Humans podcast. She helps CEOs and their teams elevate to new heights through mindset work, clear tactics, and a recalibration of their purpose and passion.

Did you know that over 90% of all seven-figure business owners are working with coaches? As a matter of fact, you can count me among that number!

Hiring a business coach can definitely help you take your business from start-up to scale-up with more ease, confidence, and joy, but it’s also a BIG investment — and I’m not just talking about money! When you’re working with the right coach at the right time, this can lead to incredible ROI that you will benefit from for years to come. On the other hand, when you’re working with a coach that isn’t a good fit for you or your business, you may not see those same amazing benefits as quickly.

So, how do you choose the right coach? And how do you know when it’s time to get started? In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I reveal my top tips and tricks for growing your business more quickly with your best-fit business coach. MM: Visualization Tips28 Aug 202300:10:17

If you want to achieve your goals with more ease, then I highly recommend taking the same advice that you give your kids: use your imagination! A big part of how I’ve achieved many of my dreams, from building a 7-figure business to spending a summer in France with a family, is through visualization.

Part of the amazing power of visualization is that your brain cannot tell the difference between a vividly imagined scenario and the real thing — it can’t differentiate between reality and your detailed mental “rehearsal.” When you are visualizing, you are essentially priming your brain to experience that specific event in the future. This is why so many top athletes, speakers, and executives swear by visualization as a preparation tool or a daily practice.

In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to use visualization to achieve your own goals with more ease!

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • Why visualization is such an effective tool
  • 6 tips for creating your most impactful and effective visualization practice
  • A real-life example of how my visualization practice helped me to find my dream partner

Scaling with Group Coaching with Kaely Harrod24 Aug 202300:37:48

Have you ever considered adding coaching to your offers… but weren’t sure how to get started or whether your dream clients really want your expertise? If so, then you won’t want to miss this episode of The Business of Thinking Big!

My guest Kaely Harrod is a doula, educator, coach, and host of the Doula Tips and Tits podcast. Through her doula business, she ensures that families are educated to meet their desired goals for their births to the best of their ability (while also leaving space for the unknowns)! More recently, Kaely has begun to offer coaching to other doulas, and actually revamped her entire podcast to cater to this new market!

In this episode, Kaely and I discuss how she “accidentally” became a six-figure business, the finer points of successfully layering an entirely new business model into an existing business, and how being an A Player has helped her build a thriving and joyful business — one that has allowed her change some of the outdated narratives in and around her industry!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • The surprising social media experiment that convinced her to shift her podcast to a new audience
  • How she pushed through her doubts to implement a new revenue stream into her business — and her brilliant win/win approach to market research!
  • An overview of the launch strategy she used to give her coaching business a strong start

Guest bio: Kaely has supported hundreds of families in the perinatal space for over 12 years. She now has a thriving doula business supporting and educating families and coaching doulas. She is passionate about equity and education in the birth space and is further those by providing coaching for newer doulas who are just branching into this field. She is also a podcast host of the popular Doula Tips and Tits podcast!

MM: New Approach to Goals21 Aug 202300:10:29

Over the years that I’ve spent coaching entrepreneurs, I’ve seen far too many fall into the trap of becoming obsessed with their goals. Becoming overly fixated on achieving one specific outcome makes it harder to maintain the flexibility that is needed to pivot or shift your goals when necessary. When this rigidity and singlemindedness leads you to try to force a particular result, chances are you will not even come close to the finish line — and this can discourage you from trying again in the future.

What we need to do as a collective is shift the way that we approach our goals.

In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to cultivate a healthier mindset around goal-setting — one that feels better each and every step of the way!

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • The difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset
  • How working toward your goals can fit more comfortably (and joyfully) into your daily or weekly schedule
  • How practicing the Law of Detachment will help you better enjoy the journey to your goal — even when it takes some unexpected turns!

Manifesting your Dreams with Rebecca Lane17 Aug 202300:56:44

Can manifestation really help you build a life that you love? My guest for this episode of The Business of Thinking Big is Rebecca Lane, a violinist who has blended her love of music with her entrepreneurial spirit to create something incredible… and she credits manifestation with helping her reach her biggest goals!

Rebecca is the founder of the Lane School of Music. As a musician, she entered the business world with a scarcity mindset, which she needed to shed in order to dream bigger. While she launched the school out of a spare room in her house, the school now offers lessons to over 700 students through its multiple locations! Rebecca now coaches other music school owners to shift from a ‘starving artist’ mindset to one of abundance.

During our conversation, Rebecca and I explore the concept of manifestation: what it is (and isn’t!), how it actually works, and how it can work for YOU. MM: Why You're Not Living Your Dreams14 Aug 202300:10:16

“Living the dream.” That’s what we’re all working toward, but why does it seem to fall just out of reach for so many people? Why aren’t more of us living the dream right now?

Now, if your version of living the dream is owning your own island, that’s one thing! But for most of us, living the dream shouldn’t be so elusive. Quite often, our dream lives can be attained through smaller shifts, rather than dramatic changes. Whether it’s travelling more, having more time to spend with your family, or enjoying a creative outlet, our dreams are often closer to reality than we might think.

In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover three major reasons why so many women are not living their dreams right now — and how you can get off the hamster wheel and start building the life that you want and deserve!

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • Why you need to cultivate space to focus on your dreams — and give yourself permission to do so!
  • Why you might not be dreaming big enough
  • How the saying “you’ve got to see it to believe it” gets it wrong

The Brand Experience10 Aug 202300:24:09

We’ve all had the experience of walking into a store or buying a service online, and knowing almost immediately that it would be the first and only time. We’ve also had the experience of revisiting a shop or a website again and again (sometimes when we aren’t even looking to buy anything!).

What sets these experiences apart? It’s the way that each particular business makes you feel.

Brand experience goes FAR beyond just the delivery of a product or service. It includes your marketing, your communication, your positioning, your customer service, your aesthetic — even your physical store layout, if you’re a brick-and-mortar business. And when it comes to brand experience, small details can make a big impact!

What does your business look like through the eyes of your customers? What is it like to engage with your brand — and how do you keep people coming back for more?

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I explore a case study of a business that offers a brand experience so fantastic that it actually had me revisiting their shop multiple times a week and spending money each time. Listen now to discover actionable tips that will help any type of business create an irresistible brand experience!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll learn:‌ ‌

  • How to create a welcoming and appealing environment in your business
  • How to avoid stifling visitors to your website or store and let them explore your offers comfortably
  • How to effectively communicate what you offer in a way that people can instantly understand

MM: Money Mindset Hack07 Aug 202300:11:03

Money mindset is something that comes up in my work with women entrepreneurs quite frequently — maybe more than any other topic relating to mindset!

There are a few reasons why so many women struggle with their money mindset. Women often feel as though they’ve fallen into the business world by accident, and their lack of business background leaves them feeling unconfident and overwhelmed by the financial side of their business. Not only that, but as women we’re largely conditioned by society to believe that we are “frivolous” or “bad with money,” and these limiting beliefs can be deeply ingrained in us even before we reach our teen years! We also tend to struggle with pricing our offers, and can be held back by imposter syndrome or the fear of seeming “greedy.”

In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to rehabilitate your money mindset, build a healthier and more productive relationship with your own professional ambition, and start earning what you are worth!

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • The #1 thing you need to believe in order to build a profitable business
  • What to consider when setting your pricing
  • A shortcut that will help you identify your most emotionally fulfilling goals and create more positive feelings about money

MM: Belief in Self31 Jul 202300:11:43

Getting the life of your dreams very, very rarely comes down to luck alone! There is a lot of inner work that must be done in order to build the life and business of your dreams.

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours coaching people at different stages of success on how to set their goals, how to build their businesses, and how to shift their mindsets. One thing that has stood out to me is this: the people that seem to have the life and business of their dreams didn’t always have it all figured out! The big difference between these people and others who were still wishing and hoping is that they took the time to do the INNER work.

Through this inner work, they were able to truly believe in their goals and dreams (well before it was even rational to do so!). They were able to truly believe in their own ability to bring them to fruition… and then they did exactly that! In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to shift your mindset regarding your biggest goals from “That feels impossible” to “I’ve got this!”

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • A simple exercise that will help you recognize your amazing ability to turn thoughts into successful actions
  • The difference between reciting affirmations and cultivating authentic belief in yourself
  • How to recognize when your brain shifts into ‘research mode’ — the first step to believing that something is possible!

Living the Dream20 Jul 202300:31:50

When you are your own boss, you get to set your own rules and do things differently. But would you say that you are living the dream?

There are as many different versions of “the dream” as there are entrepreneurs. For some, it might mean spending part of the year working in another country (or on the beach!). For others, it could mean structuring your week so that you can spend more time with your family. And some might consider the dream to be shifting to a new business model altogether.

Your version of the dream may not necessarily be easy, simple, neat, or convenient. It may require more time, more planning, more flexibility, or more buy-in from your team. But your dream is waiting to be claimed… and there is always a way to make it happen!

In this episode, I share my own version of the dream and how I have made it a reality for myself and my family. Tune in to learn how I got clear on what my dream really was, what we did to make it happen, and what YOU can learn from my journey!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • Why I’ve decided to take my family on a trip to the south of France this summer — and why NOW was the perfect time
  • Why you should give yourself permission to dream beyond what is merely “possible” and embrace your authentic desires
  • Why there will always be reasons NOT to do something — and why the reasons to do something are more important

MM: Further Than You Think17 Jul 202300:15:06

One thing that I’ve noticed during my many years of coaching high-achieving, brilliant, and ambitious women is that we have a tendency to be VERY hard on ourselves. Having big goals and aspirations is wonderful, but we can wind up feeling disappointed and being overly critical of ourselves when things don’t go according to plan or happen on our desired or expected schedule. You’re not going to grow a successful, thriving, and joyful business when you’re focused on being hard on yourself! This is a long journey, not a quick sprint, and you need to show yourself grace and celebrate the wins that you’ve already achieved.

In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, I share why you must remember that you are further ahead than you think you are — and how focusing on your success can help to multiply it!

Listen now to learn:‌ ‌

  • The importance of cultivating trust in yourself and in your ability to reach your goals
  • Why the feeling of “don’t have” can create a block that prevents you from achieving future success
  • How the obstacles you’ve faced on your journey can help you build stronger connections with your audience

Navigating Burnout with Natacha Pennycooke06 Jul 202300:49:20

Have you found yourself feeling more tired, frustrated, apathetic, or stressed out over the last few months? If so, you’re in good company. Recently, many of my clients have been feeling unmotivated, overwhelmed, and disconnected from their businesses. In other words, they’re experiencing the first signs of burnout — and you may be, too.

Burnout is much more than just periodically feeling overworked. It’s a serious psychological issue that can have a major impact on your health. Severe cases may require months of recovery (or even up to a year!). By recognizing the early signs and proactively making changes in your life, you can protect yourself and your business from its worst effects.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I sit down with the amazing Natacha Pennycooke, a registered psychotherapist and the CEO of Natacha Pennycooke Psychotherapy, to talk about burnout: what it means, what it looks like, and what you can do to prevent it. During our conversation, we explore how the experience and causes of burnout have shifted over the years, why burnout is so prevalent in female entrepreneurs, and how we have dealt with our own bouts of burnout.

This is a vitally important episode for all entrepreneurs, so you’ll want to be ready to take notes!

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • How to identify your capacity to take things on — and how to recognize your ‘trigger emotion’ when you take on too much
  • How to find a balance between your desire to grow your business and the need to honour your own capacity
  • The 4 Ds of burnout prevention and how to heal when you hit rock bottom

Guest bio: Not only is Natacha a mom, wife, and lover of popcorn, but she is also an award-winning psychotherapist, keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and corporate consultant. She is the clinical director of Natacha Pennycooke Psychotherapy (NPP), where her team of expert psychotherapists are changing the face of therapy and mental health on a global scale.

Front-of-the-Class Mentality15 Jun 202300:20:27

When you enter a classroom, yoga studio, or a seminar, where do you sit? Do you make a beeline for the front row, or tuck yourself away at the back of the room? Your answer to this question may reveal something about your relationship to risk!

Front-of-the-class mentality means being comfortable with being seen. Back-of-the-class mentality, on the other hand, means protecting yourself from risk and judgment. Sitting in the back of the room gives you an easy way out and lets you avoid attracting too much attention. Often, we wind up in the back because we believe that we just aren’t READY to move forward.

The difference between sitting in the back and sitting in the front can be like night and day, in terms of the quality of your experience and the benefits you may receive. We can start off with a back-of-the-class mentality and then shift to a front-of-the-class mentality as we grow more confident in our skills and knowledge.

In your own business, there may be areas where you have a back-of-the-class mentality and consider yourself to be a beginner in need of a safe exit strategy. This can lead to you playing smaller and missing out on powerful opportunities for growth! By shifting into a front-of-the-class mindset, you open yourself up to learning new things, gaining new skills, making mistakes, and learning from them.

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • How to recognize where you’re stuck in a back-of-the-class mentality in your life and business
  • The hidden benefits of stepping up and moving into a front-of-the-class position
  • A real-life illustration of my shift from the back-of-the-class to the front — and what I learned!

Master your Messaging01 Jun 202300:24:36

Is the energy that you’re putting out into the world attracting the clients that you truly want to work with? This episode of The Business of Thinking Big was inspired by conversations I’ve been having lately with women entrepreneurs who are struggling with their lead generation — either they’re not getting enough leads into their businesses, or they’re not getting that higher caliber of client that they’d love to be serving.

Both of these issues can be traced back to one thing: their marketing efforts.

Your marketing is a magnet. The right marketing will attract the RIGHT people to your business. The wrong marketing will repel them, and leave you with leads that are less than desirable... or even no leads at all!

In order to be effective (and get the results that you crave!), your marketing needs to connect with the people who need EXACTLY what you offer, communicate your value, and get them excited to experience what it’s like to work with YOU!

In this episode, I break down the biggest and most common mistakes that I see people make when putting their offer out into the world, and share my best tips for mastering your messaging and perfecting your positioning.

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • The #1 rookie mistake when it comes to proving your credibility — and how it can lessen your impact
  • How to put out the type of energy that will attract your dream client
  • Why discovery calls are a VITAL piece of your business and how to get the most out of them!

Playing Bigger in your Business18 May 202300:23:08

Once you’ve made it past the first year or two in your business, you may be feeling comfortable. You have loyal customers, you have steady revenue, and you’re confident that you’re delivering value and creating impact. But deep down, you may be feeling stuck, or stagnant, or wondering “what now?”. You may be starting to realize that you have a LOT more to offer.

It’s probably time that you start playing a bigger game in your business — even if you don’t quite feel ready for it!

Playing bigger means stepping outside of your comfort zone and making moves that can almost feel TOO big. It could look like starting a podcast, expanding into a new market, building out a new product line, revamping your offers, or changing your ideal client avatar. It can feel daunting, but making these bigger, scarier moves will help you see bigger returns, feel more aligned in your business, and make more of an impact for your customers and audience… and can even lead to unexpected opportunities further down the line.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I dig into what it really means to play bigger in your business, why it’s so important to take the plunge, and what can happen when you fully embrace this concept and make those next-level moves!

Listen now to discover:‌ ‌

  • What it looks like when you’re called to something higher than what you’re currently doing
  • Why we talk ourselves out of playing bigger — and how to override those fears
  • Why the secret to successfully playing bigger is to think big, but start small

Doing the Hard Things11 May 202300:47:03

As any business owner knows, the road to successful entrepreneurship isn’t always smooth or easy — it definitely comes with its share of speed bumps, potholes, and traffic jams! Often, we know what we need to do in order to grow, but resist taking our best next steps because we worry that it’s going to be hard.

The problem with avoiding these difficult steps? When we back away from challenges, we cut ourselves off from the opportunity to learn, grow, and take ourselves and our businesses to the next level.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I interview three amazing A-Players whose willingness to embrace doing the hard things has helped them to successfully build and grow three completely different businesses (while in the middle of a pandemic, no less!).

In this honest, no-holds-barred discussion, we talk about the importance of trusting the process, setting realistic goals, and starting new life phases after experiencing hardship.

Listen now to discover:‌ ‌

  • The challenges that each A-Player faced in order to build their thought leadership, reshape their offerings, or serve a new audience
  • The actions that they’ve taken and the strategies that they’ve implemented to order to play a bigger game

Building a 6-Figure Empire with Fran Murray04 May 202300:51:39

Over the last few years, Fran Murray has been on a powerful journey… and she isn’t slowing down!

Fran is the CEO and founder of Fran Murray Co, a boutique gifting agency that helps mission-driven businesses nurture their key relationships while reducing the revenue gap that exists in the minority- and women-owned small business space. But before she launched Fran Murray Co, she turned her passion for baking into a brand called Chez Fran Desserts.

While this first business saw real growth, Fran felt overwhelmed and unfulfilled, and she struggled with finding her identity as an entrepreneur. Through her experience in my A-Players Rapid Impact Business Coaching, she became open to new ways of generating revenue and scaling her business — and shifted into a business model that fits her like a glove!

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, Fran shares the incredible insights and innovative strategies that have helped her build a sustainable, six-figure gift basket empire that is strongly aligned with her values.

You’ll discover:‌

·         The ‘A-ha!’ moment that helped Fran realize what WASN’T working in her business and discover her sweet spot

·         How she leveraged her existing customer relationships to grow her new brand (and generated over $30k within four weeks!)

·         Why Fran’s first strategic hire probably wasn’t what you would expect — and why it was the right choice for her business

Guest bio: Fran Murray is a baker, queen of flavour, and Food Network competitor. She wields her bougie baking skills and 20+ years of experience to spread love and encouragement through her artistry and her new Boxed 'n Bougie line of Luxury Trifles. Fran's made-from-scratch gourmet cakes and treats have adorned many print and online media sources, including Huffington Post, Wedding Chicks, and Bride & Groom Magazine.

Leadership Mindset with Rasholeen Nakra27 Apr 202300:35:13

Working with a business coach can help established business owners uplevel their sales strategies, finetune their messaging, and better organize their offers, so that they can grow with more ease — but it can also help first-time business owners make the shift from corporate life to successful entrepreneurship.

My guest for this episode is Rasholeen Nakra, the Director of North York’s Angelic Treasures Christian Daycare, which provides children with a “learn through play” environment and the space and guidance to explore, create, learn, and grow.

Prior to shifting into the childcare field, Rasholeen worked as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. After realizing that there was a lack of high-quality childcare available in her area, she decided to fill that gap herself. She discovered the Angelic Treasures franchise, and her daycare now provides childcare and French learning services to 89 children of all faiths.

While she’s turned a struggling business into a success, the road wasn’t always smooth. As a first-time business owner, Rasholeen needed to learn entrepreneurship from A-Z —operations, team management, and more. In this episode, she shares the incredible insights that have helped her expand her business, why she has shifted her business goals, and how she developed her leadership role despite being a reluctant leader.

In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

·        How Rasholeen discovered her personal leadership style and cultivated a learning culture in her business

·        How she ensures that her team members have clarity when it comes to her vision

·        How she managed to grow her daycare during the pandemic period, when parents were increasingly working from home

Guest bio: Rasholeen is the Director of Angelic Treasures Christian Daycare, North York. She is a mompreneur who has the vision to create daycare learning centers where children will blossom and parents will rest easy, knowing that their child is in good hands.

You have a wide range of tools at your fingertips when it comes to growing your business. You’re probably already using social media, paid ads, and your mailing list, but you may not be taking full advantage of one of the most powerful tools available: the webinar.

Webinars are an amazing way to grow your audience, build your credibility as a thought leader, and, of course, sell your offers. But they can also be very intimidating, especially when you’re creating and promoting a webinar for the first time. If you’re able to move through your resistance and take the plunge, you may be surprised by your results!
