The hidden features of LinkedIn: How to power-up your content’s impact with Stacey Meadwell and Ayo Abbas23 Feb 202400:41:09

Is your built environment firm making the most out of LinkedIn?

It's the social platform for business and has so many hidden features that you may not know exist.

The latest episode of The Built Environment Marketing show hosted by me Ayo Abbas is taken from a LinkedIn Live event that I did last week with property writer Stacey Meadwell.

LinkedIn has a brilliant range of content creation tools, but not all of them are immediately obvious or are underused as they don’t really shout about the fact that they exist.

Many of these features and tools can increase your range of content, boost engagement and propel your reach. They can help you stand out from the crowd and build stronger connections.

We did a deep dive into: Creator mode, LinkedIn Events, LinkedIn Audio and LinkedIn video and tons more.

Introducing AI: get smarter with your built environment marketing09 Feb 202400:37:49

2023 was the year where AI dominated the news with the introduction of ChatGPT from OpenAI and also became mainstream a tad overwhelming.

So for the first 2024 season episode of The Built Environment Marketing Show, I'm joined by Amy Walters and Jessica Barrett to give built environment firms a quick intro to AI so you can get on and get started.

It’s a case of not being fooled as AI wasn’t really the new kid on the block but has been around for quite some time. And it’s already in many of the day-to-day marketing tools you may already use.

We talked about how built environment firms can harness AI in their marketing and provide practical ways of application from marketing, content creation /communications and graphic design perspectives so there’ll be something that will apply to us all.

Key takeaways:

- A quick rundown on what AI is

- AI tools that we’ve used

- Practical ways you can get started using AI in your marketing workflows

The Built Environment Marketing Show is hosted by marketing consultant and content creator Ayo Abbas. It is unashamedly about marketing for architects and engineers. And I'm happy that we tend to go deep and real conversations with real marketers out in the open. I want you to be so inspired that you come away wanting to try new things.

Articles, blogs, videos, podcasts, carousels, panels…the B2B content options are many and varied, as are the platforms and outlets on which to publish.

Time is always short, and overwhelm is understandable. So:

  • How do you decide what type of content to create?
  • Is it OK to stick to one type of content?
  • Which content channels should you use, and how many?

Welcome to the Built Environment Marketing show hosted by me,  Ayo Abbas from Abbas Marketing.

Today’s episode is with Andy Matthews who is a co-founder of an architectural practice called Roach Matthews. It was great to catch up now to see how his practice has evolved over the past two years and what systems and processes he’s looking to get in place.

Anyway, do take a listen to this short solo episode and do let me know what you think.

The report that I talked about in the episode that was released at COP27 designed to as a framework to stop greenwashing is Integrity matters, from the UN High Level Expert Group on Net Zero Emissions Commitments of Non-State Entities

Smart Cities, Branding & Digital [REPLAY] with Rick Robinson, Jacobs22 Apr 202200:36:33

Today I'm replaying my most downloaded episode with one of my most fascinating conversations with Rick Robinson who leads the global smart places team at Jacobs.  This was recorded during lockdown one in August 2020 so it's interesting to look back on what was going on then and how much is still very much relevant today.

He touches on some of the major issues such as climate change including the Pivot Projects initiative that he's been taking part in , net zero and digital poverty that society and our industry must look to address.

Key Takeaways

  • The importance of personal brand and how that can help companies and build trust
  • The role of smart cities and digital infrastructure in a post covid world
  • Potential areas of opportunity for built environment practitioners as we reimagine our cities Tips for those looking to start their journey on social media.

As always, if you enjoy this podcast please do consider leaving a review on Apple podcasts or Spotify. And I'll see you again in two weeks' time with a new episode.

Ep 30: Marketing models: Groups/online programmes with Nikita Morell and Sara Kolata11 Mar 202200:41:12

Hello and welcome to Marketing In Times of Recovery, the bi-weekly built environment marketing podcast. And I’m your host Ayo Abbas, founder and director of Abbas Marketing.

Welcome to the first of my very special three-part series that will look at Marketing Models: Different Ways To Get Your Marketing Done.  In this first episode we take a look at group and online programme by interviewing Nikita Morell and Sara Kolata who share why they think this is the marketing model for the future.

The idea for this mini-series came from the fact that many built environment practices think the only way to get your marketing done is via someone in-house or an expensive agency.

This episode is the trailer for a special mini-series I'm running over the next three weeks which will look at Marketing Models: Different Ways To Get Your Marketing Done.

The idea for this mini-series came from the fact that many built environment practices think the only way to get your marketing done is via someone in-house or an expensive agency.  In this series of episodes, we look at three other ways which are group/online programmes, consultants/freelancers and collectives.

The episodes will go live weekly from next Friday.  Then we'll be back to our usual bi-weekly interview format.
