Episode 12: Disney Days Part I (The Sword in the Stone, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Robin Hood)
Saison 1 · Épisode 12
jeudi 5 mars 2020 • Durée 02:12:50
On this episode of The Bluth, the Whole Bluth, and Nothing But the Bluth, we're going back in time to Don Bluth's Disney Days with our guests, Chris Bramante and Matt Schiavone! We discuss The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, and a little of Pooh's many adventures. Plus we might even learn the difference between an animation director and a director of animation. So oo-de-lally, hockety pockety, and other such whimsical exclamations!
Songs from The Sword in the Stone and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh by the Sherman Brothers. Songs from Robin Hood by Roger Miller, Floyd Huddleston, George Bruns, and Johnny Mercer. Score from The Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood by George Bruns. Score from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh by Buddy Baker.

Non-Bluth: Balto
Saison 1
samedi 8 février 2020 • Durée 02:15:52
It's another NON-BLUTH, and we're finishing up the Amblimation trilogy by talking all things Balto. Somehow, we also spend a good chunk of time talking about Super Mario Brothers, Harry Potter, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Tarzan, and Cats (2019), but trust us, it all comes back to Balto. From the epic true story it's based on to the voice cast, live-action bookends, and disturbingly hot animals, we discuss this film and all its tangents like you've never heard before.
It's time for a festive Non-Bluth, and there's no better way to celebrate Christmas than with Mickey's Christmas Carol! We have a lot to say about this classic childhood favorite, as well as two other Disney shorts: Pluto's something or other, and that Santa one. Whether you're spending Christmas with your family, your cats, or the various ghosts of Christmas, we hope you enjoy our trip down memory lane with these cartoon staples of the holiday season.
On this very special Christmas episode of The Bluth, the Whole Bluth, and Nothing But the Bluth, we go all the way back to Don Bluth's time at Disney to discuss his directorial debut, The Small One. If a film about selling your beloved pet doesn't get you into the holiday spirit, hopefully our discussion of it will! Disclaimer: if we got any Biblical stuff wrong, don't @ us.
Non-Bluth: The Hobbit (1977), The Lord of the Rings (1978), and The Return of the King (1980)
Saison 1
jeudi 12 décembre 2019 • Durée 02:27:56
Sam wouldn't let Frodo go into Mordor without him, so why would we venture into this Tolkien-themed Non-Bluth without an entire Fellowship? On this episode, we're joined by Steven Ray Morris, Grayson Kent, A.E. Fletcher, JSalvador, Evan Koehne, Omar Najam, Andulka Wilkes, and Rachele Russello to discuss the original animated Tolkien films: The Hobbit (1977), The Lord of the Rings (1978), and The Return of the King (1980). Outside. Enjoy!

Episode 9: A Troll in Central Park
Saison 1 · Épisode 9
dimanche 17 novembre 2019 • Durée 01:38:22
It's another episode of The Bluth, the Whole Bluth, and Nothing But the Bluth, and this time we think we may have watched A Troll in Central Park. It's all sort of a blur. What did we talk about? Who can say? Probably a little about Dom DeLuise, a little about magic shape-shifting dream boats, and there may have been a witch involved. Talking flowers? You'll just have to listen and find out!
It's our tiniest episode yet! On this week's episode of The Bluth, the Whole Bluth, and Nothing But the Bluth, we discuss the musical fairy tale Thumbelina. Did you know about all the Disney connections? Or that this film is an award-winner? Or maybe you're just curious about our thoughts on those frogs. Take a listen! We're sure you'll fall in love with this episode faster than Thumbelina falls in love with Prince Cornelius.
Welcome to another installment in our NON-BLUTH series! This week we're joined by musician and podcaster Analise Nelson (Popular Music: The Podcast) to discuss a film too few have ever seen: Rock & Rule. We talk about why this film is a cult classic, the cast that’s packed full of famous pop stars, and which mouse-person is hottest. Oh yeah, and the music, of course. If we could release this episode on cassette tape, we would, but we can't, so just imagine we did!
Happy Life Day, Everyone! And what better way to celebrate Life Day than with a new Non-Bluth episode talking about Nelvana, the studio responsible for underground Sci-Fi animation such as A Cosmic Christmas, Romie-0 and Julie-8, Rock & Rule, Intergalactic Thanksgiving, Star Wars: Droids, Star Wars: Ewoks, and yes, even the animated segment from The Star Wars Holiday Special. Joining us is special guest Avery, who, having a unique history with the studio, kindly shares his experiences of visiting Nelvana in its earlier days. We also talk at length about the various shows that Avery and ourselves grew up with from this extremely unique Canadian production house that rarely gets the recognition it deserves in the history of animation.
On episode seven of The Bluth, the Whole Bluth, and Nothing But the Bluth, we’re going back to the farm, but also to the city, and then back to the farm again, when we discuss the most rollicking Don Bluth film, Rock-A-Doodle! We’re joined by performer Chris Bramante (Robot Teammate) to talk about the story, songs, and “Sun Do Shine” of it all. Does it hold up? Grab your flashlight, tie your shoes, and Chanticleer your schedule for our most rollicking episode yet!
