At this point in time…BBQ TV was at its highest level. In this segment we talk about the, then, 2nd season of BBQ Pitmasters…this was the year that the show went from “reality show” to “game show”...and it never switched back after that. We talked about the comments he was seeing on social media…how that pays into future iterations of the show and all that stuff.I would like to say this…first…John is a beauty…one of my favorite BBQ people ever…PERIOD…and for a myriad of reasons…not the least of which is…he is just a great human man…I have been very critical of shows that are “game show style” shows…but it has taken this long for me to realize…that it’s easier to continue to do a show in that format…then it is doing any other format…and it took Michael Symon to tell me that for me to finalize realize and accept it…so I do now. 10:14pm - Leading off the 2nd hour is our pal and favorite YouTube food guy, Sam The Cooking Guy. It feels like it has been forever since Sam has been on...and, frankly, it has been! So tonight we will catch up on a number of topics to include cast iron skillets, Jollibee spaghetti and a number of questions when it comes to eating out a restaurants.



10:35pm - Closing the show tonight is my long time pal and show favorite, Steve Ray from Owl's Nest BBQ Supply. Steve and I have a shared interest in competitive food sport...mainly eating. Steve has covered this part of the industry extensively this year and tonight we break down the event that took place on Netflix yesterday afternoon. Billed as "Unfinished Beef", Netflix got Joey Chestnut and Kobayashi together in one room for 10 minutes to see who is the best hot dog eater in all the land. I don't want to spoil the results for you here, so if you didn't watch yesterday and you plan on catching it at some point in the next few days or week...don't listen to this segment...we will ruin it all for you!

Mike Luce joins me to talk about why he got into it, what business has been like and what you want to consider if this is something you want to get into.

9:35pm - After Mike, I will be joined by 3rd Tuesday of the month regular guest, Wes Wright, from Cookout News (dot com). Plenty of new items have popped up over the past 4 weeks and we will get all the insight with Wes. Perhaps one of the most important items we will cover tonight is if ALL major grill/BBQ makers should be looking to go to CES first before any other industry/trade convention during the year going forward. CES happened last week, NBBQA happens between 1/31/2024-2/3/2024 (San Antonio) and HPBExpo happens 2/13/2024-2/15/2024 (Nashville). Which one really bring "the heat" for your dollar?
