The things you do everyday that are making you less productive (& tips on how to stop!)14 Dec 202200:21:51

If you have 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey, it would be INCREDIBLY appreciated + really helps us plan relevant and needed content. Click here to have your say!

Today's episode:

You are going to be so surprised how many things you do out of habit EVERY day that make you less productive. I know because I do them too! BUT as we know, awareness is key and I never leave you hanging with just the items, but also tips on how to actually stop doing them and change your day to day behaviour to get the most out of your work & time. I would highly recommend selecting one habit at a time to work on, before adopting them all at once. Bear this in mind as you listen in - maybe rank them from most important to least important and work backwards so (a) you actually stick to the changes and (b) you don't get overwhelmed doing so.

The reason winners quit & how to know when you need to07 Dec 202200:10:55

It's your chance to have an impact on the podcast! We are currently taking feedback and input from every single one of you to help shape our vision and direction for 2023. If you have 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey, it would be INCREDIBLY appreciated + really helps us plan relevant and needed content. Click here to have your say!

Today's episode:

“If you quit on the process, you are quitting on the result” ... “Never Give Up” ... “Only Quitters Quit”.... There are so many sayings with the same basic idea, that quitting is a bad thing. This idea is instilled in us from the youngest age and even as we grow up, considered common place. To me however, winners do not quit or give up because the task is difficult or because they’re lazy, they quit because they are mature enough or self aware enough to acknowledge that something is no longer worth their time or energy.

So today I'm going to reframe quitting to "letting go" and offer you some perspective shifts so you can finally let go of whatever is no longer serving you, that maybe you've been clinging on to out of fear of judgement.

Soooo many of you have popped into my DMs being like 'hey, we always hear you and the guests mention TYPE A personality, what's that all about'? I figured an episode dedicated to explaining this + the other 4 types (B, C, D & X) would be extremely useful. Knowing what type you are is important for increased self awareness plus once you wrap your head around the types, it really increases your interpersonal skills because you can understand others better too!

BTS Rules for having balance with your job23 Nov 202200:16:37

Today's episode:

Work is one of those things we need for a sense of fulfilment, either personal/growth or financial, yet it can often be the things that destroys our overall sense of being ... that is, if we don't know how to manage and have a balanced relationship with it. Today I have dedicated the last of our Balance Rules series to this area because I feel there is SO much potential in our capabilities when we have a healthy and well defined relationship with work.

Does this mean you won't work any overtime? No. Does this mean you won't work hard? No! It's about getting to the core of what you require from a job and knowing when it is taking you away from the other areas of your life. A key skill which I feel, is the make or break for our sense of balance.

He in fact, accomplishes this reset on a daily basis and teaches us just how to do this today!

Dr. Don Davis is an author, coach and consultant who joins us from the US today for a very insightful chat. You can learn more about him on his website or access the book on Amazon here.

BTS My 3 step process for dealing with negative thoughts 19 Oct 202200:09:41

Today I share a 3 step process that has recently helped me deal with and work through negative thoughts. The aim is never to completely stop them (I feel that's impossible), but rather change how we respond to them.

This episode has been inspired by the work of Mo Gawdat, author of Solve for Happy.

BTS 10 bad habits you need to stop to protect your long term balance12 Oct 202200:25:29

Today I want to share some of the worst habits a lot of us have, some I still slip into, that are detrimental to our life balance. Some of these are going to sound basic, but if it’s so simple, why do we still keep doing them? The first half relate to our physical health and the second half relate to our mental health. Woven in these are some that also cross over with relationships and work life which is always always underpinned by our health.

Ready to see how many you’re currently engaging in? Make sure you keep a tally of which ones are In your life at the moment as I am going to set you a challenge at the end.

BTS The sacrifices that come with change & how to embrace them05 Oct 202200:17:25

Today’s episode is inspired by a conversation I’ve had with one of you Balancers. Their painpoint? Dealing with the inevitable sacrifices that come with change. Even when we know and feel a change is necessary, the fall out or collateral damage from change, can be really hard to work through. Having undertaken a LOT of change this year myself, sacrificing my identity, career trajectory, money and so on, are all things I have felt.

Today I share my thoughts on what these sacrifices mean on our journey and path and how to deal with them PLUS a cool morning activity you can do every day (under 1 min) to keep your why/purpose front and centre.

To check out our dedicated episode on Comparison you can find it here. Do share this episode with someone that comes to mind when I say change and sacrifice!

BTS Things everyone on their self growth journey needs to know 28 Sep 202200:11:51

Lately I’ve been speaking with a lot of people who are either quite new on the self growth journey OR are constantly looking for ways to do better for themselves. I have been on my self discovery journey for I’d say around 3 years now and there are somethings I originally thought would “improve” or “get better” which I’ve now learned are just a part of the self growth journey.

I think it’s a really useful discussion to flag these things especially for those of you navigating this for the first time and really feeling quite alone.

BTS If you thrive in busyness but feel guilty for it, this one's for you14 Sep 202200:16:33

This is the literal dilemma I had that prompted me to start this podcast... that is, thriving in busyness and loving being busy, but also feeling guilty for it. So I sat down and reframed what being busy meant, how it made me feel and how to ensure I didn't get swept up in the "busyness" to a point where I neglected my wellness, my wellbeing. And today, I take you exactly through the process I undertook to arrive in a place where I feel confident defending my time & forgetting feeling guilty for how I'm spending it.

At times we need to go deeper in our health, or our work, and we don't need to feel guilty or let others make us feel guilty for it. So get ready to OWN it! Let's Balance together.

Marlo Grover on finding joyful movement and proactive self care11 Sep 202200:51:50

Today I am joined by Marlo Grover, the founder of G Pump and woman on a mission to spread joyful vibes into our exercise regimes! Among some of the incredible topics we dive into today, my favourites include why exercise shouldn't be a chore and how to fix a 'meh' relationship with it, how to enjoy the process and take the pressure of the results, and importantly why something doesn't have to be hard for it to be effective.

We also chat about the meaning of self care everyday, rather than using it as a go-to when sh*t hits the fan. Another personal fav of both of ours is using Disney movies as a self care activity but you'll need to tune in to hear our favourites!

BTS Why failing is an essential part of any journey07 Sep 202200:15:41

Today I share a replay of a very early episode that I have recently listened back to to help me reframe my feelings with failure. In this episode, I share my thoughts on "beginnings" and their close but common link to "failing". I think the fear of failing, and the emotions associated with 'new beginnings' often prevent people from getting started A LOT more than they should. I share some insights into how we can reframe our understanding and connection to these feelings, and kick beginnings in the butt!

So, today you’re going to hear 3 reasons why feeling lost is not a bad place to be and how it can truly be a special and eye opening moment in your life.

BTS How to use negative feedback as an opportunity for self growth10 Aug 202200:12:53

Negative feedback is something we’re all familiar with - whether it be in a professional capacity or via a personal relationship. It can come as constructive criticism or abrupt commentary, either way, it impacts us. I don’t know about you, but in the moment when receiving negative feedback, I usually plunge into emotions like embarrassed, shy, disappointed, guilty or any other yucky type of emotion.

And so, today I want to empower you with some insights into this reaction and how we can look at feedback objectively, remove the emotion, and in the process understand something deeper about ourselves!

BTS Why you need to be able to identify good and bad expectations03 Aug 202200:20:48

If you're anything like me and feel like you're a bit of a perfectionist, then you're probably not foreign to the idea of having expectations on yourself across multiple areas of your life (especially work/career ones)! Today I want to chat about where these come from and explore when they can be good, and motivate us, but also when they can be bad and steer us away from what we genuinely want.

I'll also dive deep into how to work out what success means to you so that you can make sure your expectations are aligned to what you value.
