In this episode, I talk to Serafima Serafimova, a London-based film director who has chosen a child-free life. We discuss the importance of making choices for ourselves rather than to please others and how creative agencies can support diverse lifestyles in the workplace.

After studying Fine Art at Camberwell College of Art, Serafima became a film editor at London-based creative agency Nice and Serious. Fifteen years later, she is still at the agency – now a film director – working with some of the world's biggest brands and charities. Serafima is also a rotoscope artist and a programmer and writer for online film and animation festivals Short of the Week and Directors Notes.

Angie shares her experience of navigating freelance life as a new mom, how motherhood has influenced her creativity, and the things she misses the most.

She shares her experience of switching careers from corporate communications to creative copywriting after the birth of her first child, how she and her partner managed life in lockdown with two young children, and the challenges they faced in balancing the diverse needs of their family.

Negli ultimi anni, si è specializzata nella creazione di titoli di apertura per film e serie TV, lavorando principalmente nella pubblicità. Nel 2017 è stata nominata agli Emmy Awards per le sequenze animate dei titoli di coda della serie Feud: Bette and Joan (Ryan Murphy)
