| Astrology Forecast for September 2024 | 01 Sep 2024 | 02:46:22 | |
In episode 460 astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock look ahead at the astrological forecast for September 2024.
We cover news and events in the first hour, and then at 01:03:00 we start looking at September's astrology.
The astrology of September features the beginning of eclipse season, with a lunar eclipse in Pisces taking place in the middle of the month, followed by a solar eclipse in Libra in early October.
Early in the month Mars moves into the sign of Cancer, which is important because it will return to this sign after turning retrograde in early November, and thus September marks the beginning of an extremely long Mars transit that will last until the middle of next year.
Also notable this month is Pluto returning to Capricorn for its final transit through this sign, with it eventually departing for Aquarius for good in November.
The most positive alignment this month is a Venus-Jupiter trine in Libra and Gemini that goes exact around September 14

| Astrology Forecast for June 2024 | 30 May 2024 | ||
In episode 450 astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock discuss the June 2024 astrology forecast, covering major transits like a stellium of planets moving through Gemini, Jupiter trine Pluto, Venus cazimi, Mars square Pluto, and Saturn stationing with Neptune.
In June a stellium of 4 planets transit through Gemini in the first half of the month, and Jupiter trines Pluto in Aquarius, which should expand and accelerate technological developments related to communications, artificial intelligence, and travel.
Venus plunges into the heart of the Sun around the same time early in the month, which marks the end of one synodic cycle for Venus and the beginning of another, marking a new epoch for relationships, equality, and the position of women in society in general.
Mars moves into Taurus mid-month, where it immediately forms a tense square with Pluto in Aquarius, raising issues related to the use and abuse of power, going overboard to achieve one’s ends, and dealing with dangers.
Late in the month Saturn slows down and stations retrograde in Pisces while conjoining Neptune, which will on the one hand in Pisces intensify ongoing themes surrounding dangers and fears that arise in connection with water, while with Neptune we will an intensification of the blurring between what is real versus what is not and the struggle to distinguish between the two.
The lunations this month are a new Moon in Gemini on June 6, followed by a full Moon in Capricorn on June 21.

In episode 360 astrologer Nick Dagan Best joins Chris Brennan in the studio in Denver to talk about his work in astrology, including research on the Uranus return of the United States, Venus retrograde cycles, and more.
Nick flew out to Denver from July 7-11, 2022, and this was the first in a series of episodes we recorded. A lot of the episode ended up being biographical, talking about Nick's life and career in astrology.
We ended up spending a good chunk of the episode talking about the upcoming Uranus return of the United States when Uranus moves into Gemini in 2025 through 2033, and how that connects to the two previous Uranus returns that coincided with the Civil War and World War II.
Later in the episode we also ended up talking about some important new research Nick has done in tracking Venus retrograde cycles, and creating a new model for classifying different sequences.

| Transiting Eclipses in Astrology | 03 Jun 2022 | 02:01:02 | |
Episode 355 astrologer Chris Brennan leads a workshop on how to understand the meaning of transiting solar and lunar eclipses based on where they fall in your birth chart, with a group of astrologers sharing stories of their past experiences.
This is a recording of a meeting of the Denver Astrology Group that took place on May 14, 2022 at the Mercury Cafe, a couple of weeks after a solar eclipse in Taurus, and the day before a lunar eclipse in Scorpio.
It was a followup to another meeting we did in 2019 that was released as episode 215 titled Interpreting Eclipses in Your Birth Chart, where we demonstrated how to interpret eclipses based on which houses they fall in your birth chart, and then attendees shared stories of eclipses in their lives.
For this meeting attendees were instructed to go back and watch the recording of that last meeting, and then come to this one prepared to share stories of how eclipses had worked out for them in the past.
Here is a handout that shows what signs the eclipses fell in from 2004 through 2025:

Morin was an astrologer from France who lived around the same time as William Lilly, and he wrote a massive tome on astrology titled Astrologia Gallica, which means French Astrology.
Penelope just translated book 21 of Morin’s work from Latin, which is the most important book of Astrologia Gallica, where he outlines his unique approach to chart synthesis.
Penelope became so excited about Morin's work after being exposed to it in the 2000's through the work of Robert Corre that she actually learned Latin specifically in order to translate Morin's text.
During the course of the episode we talk about Morin's life and work, and then we also get into his techniques and discuss what makes his approach interesting and different when compared to some of his contemporaries.
Along the way we talk about his birth chart and personality, and use his chart a few times to demonstrate his technical approach, which he does several times in his work.
It ended up being a fascinating discussion, introducing an important but often overlooked astrologer who was the last great court astrologer in France before the decline of astrology in the 17th century.

| Sharing Astrology Transit Stories | 06 May 2022 | 01:46:39 | |
Episode 350 is a recording of a meeting of the Denver Astrology Group where attendees shared stories about transits they experienced over the past two years since our last meeting in early 2020, hosted by astrologer Chris Brennan.
The Denver Astrology Group was started in May of 2008, and held a meeting at the Mercury Cafe on the second Saturday of every month for 12 years, until the pandemic hit in March of 2020.
This meeting was held on April 16, 2022 at the Mercury Cafe in downtown Denver, and it was our first meeting back in two years since the pandemic started.
Because a lot has happened since that time, we thought it would be good to hold a discussion or workshop style meeting where members could share some of their stories about important transits and notable events that have happened in their lives over the past two years since we last met.
Chris led the meeting and opened by talking about the inception charts of the Denver Astrology Group and the Mercury Cafe, and sharing a personal story about his own transits, and then opened it up for audience members to come up to the mic and share their story about a positive or negative transit that they experienced over the past couple of years and how it was reflected in their life.
It ended up being a pretty great demonstration about how different types of transits work, what astrologers look for, as well as how to talk to people about their birth chart.
We plan to resume meetings of the Denver Astrology Group on the second Saturday of each month at the Mercury Cafe.

| May 2022 Astrology Forecast | 30 Apr 2022 | 02:11:02 | |
In episode 349 astrologers Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, and special guest co-host Steph Koyfman look ahead at the astrology of May 2022.
The astrology of May features the first part of Mercury retrograde, beginning in Gemini on May 10 and entering Taurus almost two weeks later.
There is also a solar eclipse in Taurus on April 30 and a lunar eclipse in Scorpio on May 16, starting the new eclipse season with the nodes on the Taurus/Scorpio axis until 2023.
There's a tonal change as Venus, Mars, and Jupiter all move into Aries over the course of May, away from the mutable energy of Pisces.
Late in the month, there is a New Moon in Gemini, although since it occurs on the second to last day of the month we are going to save most of that discussion for the next forecast.
We open the episode by talking about recent world events and how the astrology has played over the past four weeks since our last forecast.

In episode 348, astrologer Demetra George discusses her new book, Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice, Volume Two.
This is the second of two volumes where Demetra delivers a comprehensive look at the practical use of Hellenistic astrology, bringing to completion a cycle that started in 1993 when she became the very first subscriber of the Project Hindsight translation project.
In volume two Demetra takes a closer look at the houses and their role in interpreting a birth chart, taking special care to look at the significations of the houses throughout history, and tracing the common themes that run throughout the 2000 year long tradition.
In our discussion we focused mainly on talking about the significations of the houses, and how some of the significations changed over the course of the tradition, while other stayed the same.

| Aries in Astrology: Meaning and Traits | 14 Apr 2022 | 02:26:19 | |
In episode 347 astrologer Rick Levine joins the podcast to talk about the meaning of the zodiac sign Aries in astrology, and some of the traits and characteristics of people born with that sign prominent in their birth chart.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and it is a masculine or diurnal sign, cardinal, fiery, and ruled by the planet Mars.
This is the first in a new series of episodes where we do a deep-dive into each of the signs of the zodiac, one per episode, in order to really understand their core meaning and significations.
Part of Rick's credentials for this episode is that he was born with a stellium or cluster of planets in Aries, including the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the North Node.
During the course of the episode we talk about various keywords and traits associated with Aries, and also look at some birth charts of famous people who were born with different planets in that sign.
Some of the keywords we discussed were drawn from a Twitter survey:

A consultation chart is an astrological chart that is cast for the moment that a meeting between an astrologer and client begins.

During the course of the episode we discuss how in the context of medical astrology consultation charts can be used as an additional tool for diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction.
Along the way we also talk about horary astrology, decumbiture charts, and the nature of divination.

| The Future Trajectory of Astrology | 26 Mar 2022 | 01:27:37 | |
Episode 344 features a discussion between astrologers Rick Levine and Chris Brennan about the future of astrology and whether it will become more or less poplar in the world.
This talk was recorded on March 19, 2022 for a webinar hosted by the International Society for Astrological Research to celebrate International Astrology Day.
The theme of the two day series of webinars was predicting general trends in the world over the next decade, and so we decided to take a unique approach by trying to talk about and predict the future of astrology itself.
The premise of the discussion is that astrology has seen a rapid explosion in popularity in the west over the past 5 years, especially among younger people, which has not happened since the late 1960s.
The main question we focused on was whether astrology would continue to increase in popularity and eventually reach new heights of acceptance, or whether it had reached a high water mark or plateaued in some way and we are due for a decline.
From a long term historical perspective the popularity of astrology has waxed and waned over the centuries, sometimes going up and other times going down, but it never stays in one state permanently.
During the course of the episode we try to frame and understand the important historical moment that we are in now, anticipate what is coming up so that we can understand better what we need to work on now, and then finally also celebrate where astrology is at now by reflecting on how far it has come.

Agrippa published his Three Books of Occult Philosophy in 1533, and it is a compilation of astrology, magic, and philosophy.
After its publication Agrippa's work developed a very large influence and reach in the western esoteric tradition, as an important Renaissance compilation on occult lore.
The last time it was translated into English was in 1551, and Eric's translation improves on the previous one in a number of scholarly and stylistic ways.

| Planetary Stations in Secondary Progressions | 11 Mar 2022 | 02:20:36 | |
In episode 342 astrologers Catherine Urban and Nick Dagan Best join the show to discuss what happens when planets station retrograde or direct by secondary progression, and how this can be used as an important timing technique in astrology.
In secondary progressions each day after a person is born represents an entire year of their life, and the planetary alignments on a specific day will correspond to events and experiences in a given year of life.
In this episode we focus in particular on what happens in a native's life in the years that correspond with planets stationing retrograde or direct by secondary progression, and how this can help to identify some of the most important years in a person's life.
During the course of the show we use a bunch of celebrity and personal charts as examples in order to demonstrate how the technique works in practice.

| Astrologer or Astrologist: What is the Preferred Designation? | 23 Feb 2022 | 01:02:31 | |
In episode 340 astrologers Chris Brennan and Leisa Schaim discuss whether the preferred designation for a practitioner of astrology is "astrologer" or "astrologist", and why it is important.
The motivation for this discussion is that there seems to be some confusion among non-astrologers about what the preferred word is to use.
In general, the preferred designation is "astrologer", and this is the word that is used and often strongly preferred by the vast majority of practitioners today.
During the course of the episode we review three informal polls that were done on social media that indicate that between 90–99% of astrologers prefer the term "astrologer" over "astrologist".
Despite the overwhelming preference for the term astrologer, some social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and more recently Twitter have made it so that practitioners can only select the term "astrologist" when listing their profession.
Thus, part of the purpose of this discussion is to raise awareness about this issue among the general public.
While there are occasionally some astrologers who do use the term astrologist, and that is ok, the purpose of this discussion is to clarify that since the vast majority of practitioners prefer the term astrologer, that is the word that should probably be used by non-astrologers when referring to the profession.
This discussion is partially based on an article Chris wrote in 2014 titled Is it Astrologer or Astrologist?

| Hermeticism and Ancient Astrology | 16 Feb 2022 | 03:12:50 | |
In episode 339 Sam Block joins the show to talk about the ancient philosophy of Hermeticism and its relationship to Hellenistic astrology.
Hermeticism is a religious, philosophical, and mystical movement that arose in Hellenistic Egypt around the first century, and is attributed to the teachings and practices of Hermes Trismegistus.
It represents a popular synthesis of a number of philosophical and religious trends that were popular during the Hellenistic period, including Stoicism, Platonism, native Egyptian religion, and astrology.
The majority of what is known about this philosophical or religious school survives in the Corpus Hermeticum and a handful of other writings from that time period.
During the course of the episode we talk about what is known about the Hermetic philosophical tradition, and how it relates to the technical tradition of astrology that arose during the same time period.
Sam is the author of a series on Hermeticism on his website, which I would recommend checking out for more information on this topic:

| Changing of the Gods: An Astrology Documentary Series | 02 Feb 2022 | 01:38:37 | |
Episode 338 features an interview with Kenny Ausubel, director of a new astrology documentary series called Changing of the Gods.
Changing of the Gods is a 10-part series on astrology that is being released later this month, starting on February 22, 2022.
The series is based on the work of the astrologer Richard Tarnas, and his 2006 book Cosmos and Psyche.
The focus of the series is the cycle of Uranus and Pluto, and how the alignments of these two planets coincide with major world events and changes.
The series draws on Tarnas' work in order to show how Uranus-Pluto alignments have coincided with historical events in the past, and then compares them with the most recent alignment, which was a square between 2007 and 2020.
Each episode focuses on different facets of how these alignments have manifested in different levels of society and culture.
During the course of the interview we talk about the production of the series, some of the topics covered, and what the overall vision and message of the series is.

| Pluto in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 20 Jan 2022 | 03:42:45 | |
In episode 336 astrologer Richard Tarnas joins the show to talk about the meaning of the planet Pluto in astrology.
In astrology Pluto is generally associated with power, control, manipulation, intensity, the underworld, taboos, transformations, destruction and regeneration, death and rebirth, making big things small and small things big.
Richard is the author of the 2006 book Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View, and he previously appeared on episode 84 of The Astrology Podcast in 2016 to talk about the book on its 10 year anniversary.
At the beginning of the episode we talked a bit about the recent conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in 2020, how it coincided with the beginning of the pandemic, and how Richard felt about having discussed that cycle in Cosmos and Psyche in retrospect. Some of this was tied into a discussion in episode 254 titled Misconceptions About Mundane Astrology in the Media.
Later we get into the discovery of Pluto, discuss how astrologers establish the meaning of new planets, and then read through some passages from different astrologers that talk about the meaning of Pluto.
Later in the episode we also touch on how to deal with skeptics of astrology, and how to demonstrate the validity of astrology in general.
We also discuss a new astrology documentary series based on Richard's work titled Changing of the Gods, which will be released next month.

| Artificial Intelligence and Astrology | 12 Jan 2022 | 02:39:14 | |
In episode 335 astrologer Kent Bye joins Chris in the studio in Denver to talk about artificial intelligence and consciousness through the lens of astrology.
Kent is the former host of the Voices of AI Podcast, and has conducted hundreds of interviews with different specialists in AI over the years.
During the course of the episode we cover topics such as whether it will ever be possible to replicate human consciousness with artificial intelligence, what planetary alignments in the future might coincide with this if it was possible, and whether astrology itself could be used as a model for consciousness.
This conversation was recorded the day after our previous episode on virtual reality and astrology, and was originally intended to be more of a casual discussion about artificial intelligence only available to patrons of the podcast, but the discussion went so well that I decided to release it as a full episode of The Astrology Podcast.

| 2022 Yearly Horoscopes for All 12 Zodiac Signs | 08 Jan 2022 | 05:31:06 | |
In episode 334 astrologer Chris Brennan presents a set of year ahead horoscope forecasts for each sign of the zodiac for the entire year ahead of 2022.
This is meant to take some of the general transits that we talked about in our year ahead astrology forecast for 2022 and personalize them, by talking about them in the context of what houses the planets are moving through for each of the rising signs.
I would recommend listening to the zodiac sign that matches your Ascendant or rising sign, although you can also listen to the your Sun sign, especially if you were born during the day, or your Moon sign, especially if you were born at night.
Video Versions of the Horoscopes
I originally recorded these as video horoscopes for my YouTube channel, and there are some fancy visual elements that you may miss if you only listen to the audio version, so I would recommend watching them on my channel here:

| Virtual Reality and Astrology, with Kent Bye | 30 Dec 2021 | 04:56:08 | |
In episode 333 Kent Bye of the Voices of VR Podcast joins me in the studio to talk about virtual reality and its relevance to astrology, as well as the ways in which astrologers will use and incorporate virtual worlds in the future.
During the course of the episode we talk about the history of technology, and how important turning points have historically lined up with major outer planet alignments in the past.
We also spend a bit of time talking about the future, and about some upcoming outer planet trends, and expectations about astrology and virtual reality that are coming up.
Kent wrote an article on astrology and virtual reality in 2017 for the Archai journal titled The Archetypal Cycles of Virtual Reality.
This episode was partially motivated by some of the recent discussion about the Metaverse over the past year, as well as Facebook's announcement that it was changing its name to Meta in October when Jupiter and Saturn stationed direct in Aquarius.
Kent flew out to Denver for a couple of days to record this conversation, as well as another on artificial intelligence that will be released as an episode of The Astrology Podcast next month, and this episode ended up being a sweeping 5-hour discussion where we covered a lot of areas related to astrology and technology.
There are timestamps below so you can see all the different topics we covered.

| Prophecy and Power, with Patrick Curry and Nicholas Campion | 07 May 2024 | 02:10:06 | |
In episode 447 historians Patrick Curry and Nicholas Campion join me to discuss the recent republication of Patrick's groundbreaking book Prophecy and Power: Astrology in Early Modern England, which documents the rise and fall of astrology in the 17th century.
Originally published in 1989, the book offers a detailed analysis of the role and perception of astrology in 17th-century England, a period that saw both the peak and the subsequent decline of astrology in the public sphere.
Patrick shares insights from his PhD research at University College London, which formed the basis of his book. He discussed the socio-political dynamics of the era, particularly how the English Civil War influenced astrological practices and the lives of astrologers like William Lilly.
Nicholas Campion, known for his comprehensive two-volume "A History of Western Astrology," contributed to the conversation by discussing the academic and historical context in which Patrick's book was first published and its impact on the field.
We also delved into the broader implications of the historical treatment of astrology, discussing how historical narratives have shifted from outright dismissal of astrology to a more nuanced understanding of its role in historical contexts.
Both Patrick and Nick emphasize the importance of viewing astrology through the lens of the cultural and political milieu of its time, rather than simply through modern scientific critiques.
The episode also touches on the challenges faced by astrologers during politically turbulent times, and how part of what contributed to the decline of astrology in the 17th century was that it became associated with political views that fell out of favor.
Patrick's book was recently republished by the Sophia Centre Press, and you can order it here:

| Minor Aspects in Astrology, with Rick Levine | 22 Nov 2021 | 03:25:32 | |
In episode 328 astrologer Rick Levine joins the show to talk about minor aspects in astrology, and whether they should be regarded as "minor".
Minor aspects are generally categorized as any aspects besides the five classical "major" aspects that were originally introduced in western astrology around the 1st century BCE, which are the conjunction, opposition, trine, square, and sextile.
The minor aspects include the semi-sextile, quincunx, semi-square, sesqui-square, quintile, bi-quintile, septile, novile, and others.
Several of the minor aspects used today were first introduced by the German astronomer and astrologer Johannes Kepler in the 17th century CE, although their adoption in the astrological community has been uneven, with some astrologers using them and others not.
During the course of the episode we discuss the history of minor aspects and some of the debates surrounding them, and then later look at some charts where Rick demonstrates how he uses minor aspects in practice.

| Neptune in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 03 Nov 2021 | 02:15:49 | |
In episode 326 astrologer Laura Nalbandian joins the show to talk about the meaning of the planet Neptune in astrology, and what it signifies in a birth chart.
In astrology Neptune is generally said to signify illusions, mysticism, escapism, spiritualism, confusion, romanticism, the blurring of boundaries, extreme sensitivity, compassion, and transcendent experiences.
Neptune is one of the more recently discovered outer planets, having only been discovered in 1846, although astrologers have figured out its meanings pretty well after nearly two centuries of working with it.
This is part of a series of episodes where we do a deep-dive into the meanings of each of the planets in astrology, by reading some excerpts from different astrologers to see how they have talked about the planet in the past, and then using that as a jumping off point for discussion.
Laura is organizing two astrology conferences happening in Seattle and Denver in May and August of 2022, and you can find out more information here:

In episode 324 astrologer Luís Ribeiro joins me to talk about the life and work of his partner Helena Avelar, who passed away earlier this year.
Helena was a respected practitioner and teacher of traditional astrology from Portugal, and had influenced many astrologers through works she co-authored with Luís, such as their 2010 book On the Heavenly Spheres: A Treatise on Traditional Astrology.
She was also a scholar of the history of astrology, and obtained PhD from the Warburg Institute in 2018, with a thesis titled "The Making of an Astrologer in Fifteenth-century France. The Notebooks of S. Belle: Lisbon, MS 1711 and Paris, NAL 398."
Her PhD dissertation was recently published by the academic publisher Brill, and the book came out just a few months after she died, under the title An Astrologer at Work in Late Medieval France The Notebooks of S. Belle.
In the first half of this podcast episode we focus on giving a biographical overview of Helena's life and talking about her work and accomplishments, while in the second half we talk about her new book.

| Aspects in Astrology: The Five Major Configurations | 16 Oct 2021 | 02:31:21 | |
In episode 323 astrologers Chris Brennan and Claire Moon discuss the five major aspects in astrology, and explain what they mean in a birth chart.
Aspects are geometrical configurations which denote different types of relationships between planets, and they are the primary means through which planets interact with each other in a chart.
The five major aspects, also sometimes known as the Ptolemaic aspects, are the conjunction, opposition, trine, square, and sextile.
During the course of the episode we give an introduction to the topic of aspects and then get into what each of the them mean symbolically.

| Saturn in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 08 Oct 2021 | 03:25:30 | |
In episode 322 astrologer Diana Rose Harper joins the show to talk about the meaning of the planet Saturn in astrology, and what it signifies in a birth chart.
Saturn is the furthest planet that is visible to the naked eye, and so it is the last of the traditional planetary bodies in our ongoing series on the planets.
In astrology Saturn is generally said to signify contraction, constraints, rejection, exclusion, time, tradition, age, that which is old, confinement, depression, structure, seriousness, authority, concrete reality, and that which is cold and slow.
During the course of the episode we read through a variety of passages from ancient and modern astrologers in order to understand how astrologers have conceptualized Saturn in the past, and then we used that as a jumping off point for discussing what it means today.

| Uranus in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 23 Sep 2021 | 03:23:28 | |
In episode 320 astrologer Rick Levine joins Chris in the studio to talk about the meaning of the planet Uranus in astrology, and what it signifies in a birth chart.
In general, Uranus is said to signify sudden and unexpected events, revolutions, innovation, eccentricity, erraticness, disruption, unpredictability, sudden breakthroughs, quirkiness, rebelliousness, electricity, advancement through technology, rapid growth, and uncommon pursuits.
Uranus was first discovered on March 13, 1781, and within a century or so astrologers had worked out most of its meanings and incorporated it into astrology.
Since Uranus is the first outer planet in our series, we spend a bit of time in the beginning of the episode talking about how astrologers figured out the meaning of newly discovered planets.
One access point was understanding some of the events that happened around the same time as the discovery, such as the American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, and the culmination of the Enlightenment period.
Our first attempt to record this episode was cut short when the power went out about a minute into the recording. We released a separate outtake of that power outage on YouTube, and also included a brief clip from it at the end of this episode.

| Jupiter in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 13 Sep 2021 | 01:34:49 | |
In episode 319 astrologer Samuel F. Reynolds joins the podcast to talk about the meaning of Jupiter in astrology, as part of our ongoing series on the significations of the planets in a birth chart.
In astrology Jupiter is generally said to signify growth, expansion, wisdom, abundance, justice, freedom, religion, philosophy, faith, righteousness, success, fecundity, and aggrandizement.
Jupiter is said to rule the signs of Sagittarius in Pisces, have its detriment in the opposite signs of Gemini and Virgo, and to have its exaltation in Cancer and fall in Capricorn.
During the course of the episode we read through some passages from different ancient and modern astrologers in order to understand how Jupiter has been conceptualized in the astrological tradition, and use that as a jumping off point for further discussions.
Some of the different astrologers we read through during the course of the episode are Vettius Valens, Abu Ma'shar, William Lilly, Reinhold Ebertin, Steven Forrest, and Richard Tarnas.

| Mars in Astrology: Meaning and Significations | 09 Sep 2021 | 03:37:40 | |
Episode 318 features a discussion with astrologer Sylvi Osland about what Mars means in astrology, where we talk about the significations of the planet and especially what it means in a birth chart.
Mars is generally said to signify things like action, impulsiveness, forcefulness, assertiveness, fighting, anger, war, severing, separation, inflammation, intercourse, fires, discord, robbery, and courage.
This is the fifth episode in our series on the planets in astrology, where we do a deep dive into the meaning of each of the planets, by reading through some passages from ancient and modern astrologers to anchor the discussion.
The passages we read through this time included astrologers such as Porphyry of Tyre, Vettius Valens, Abu Ma’shar, William Lilly, Reinhold Ebertin, Steven Forrest, and Richard Tarnas.
