Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage joins The Art of Kindness with Robert Peterpaul for our season four premiere! Welcome back and happy World Kindness Week, friends! The actor discusses the curiosity of kindness onset and in life, the legacy of Young Sheldon, working with legends like Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, and much more in this delightful episode. IAIN ARMITAGE is most recognized for his role as the title character in the hit CBS comedy YOUNG SHELDON, the prequel to THE BIG BANG THEORY which wrapped its 7th and final season in May 2024. He was nominated for a Critic’s Choice Award for Lead in a Comedy Series and in 2018 he received a Teen Choice Award nomination for his portrayal in the Breakout TV Star category. Iain first burst onto the scene appearing as Shailene Woodley's son, Ziggy Chapman, in the HBO series and cultural phenomenon, BIG LITTLE LIES. He reprised his role in the second season and was nominated at the SAG awards with the cast for Best Ensemble in 2019.   On film, he has appeared with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in OUR SOULS AT NIGHT for Netflix, in THE GLASS CASTLE for Lionsgate with Woody Harrelson and opposite JK Simmons and Mandy Moore in independent film IM NOT HERE. Iain can also be heard as the voice of Young Shaggy in Scooby Doo animated feature origin story, SCOOB!, and can be heard as the voice of lead pup Chase in Paramount’s animated PAW PATROL feature. Everybody's Talking About Jamie screenwriter and playwright Tom MacRae joins host Robert Peterpaul to discuss adapting the musical into an Amazon film with his friends, advice for aspiring writers, and much more. Tom MacRae is a BAFTA and Olivier award-nominated screenwriter, playwright, lyricist, producer and author Tom MacRae. Born in Northampton, Tom relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 to work as a writer and producer on the US TV show The Librarians. On British television he is the creator, writer and producer of the Comedy Central sit-com Threesome, as well as contributing to many other TV shows, including Doctor Who. Tom adapted his stage play and lyrics for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie into the Amazon Prime movie version released in 2021, reuniting with his friends Jonathan Butterell and Dan Gillespie Sells to bring Jamie’s story to the big screen, and writing a few new songs in the process. Tom is now working on a variety of exciting secret projects for stage, screen and television which I wish we could’ve talked about. He lives in Los Angeles with two cats and one husband. Happy Thanksgiving (and birthday to my mom)! We're grateful for actress Haskiri Velazquez, who talks her hit Peacock show Saved by the Bell, self-care and kindness on set, the importance of having a routine and more. Growing up in a low-income area of Washington Heights, NY, Haskiri found her passion for entertaining at a young age. Though she had no connection or resources to follow those dreams, she had a strong belief in herself and support from a local nonprofit. Haskiri is now a working actress recently seen in Netflix's award-winning film The 40-Year-Old Version, which premiered at Sundance to rave reviews. She's most known for currently starring as Daisy in Peacock's hit reboot of Saved by the Bell, which is back for season two this week. Sherz, which is pronounced like “more than one Cher,” is an Iranian American actor, singer, and vocal coach. Originally from Southern California, Sherz is based in Manhattan and is currently appearing in the hit Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Merrily We Roll Along alongside Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, and Lindsay Mendez. She has been seen on stage at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Ars Nova, as Lalume in Kismet (directed by Lonny Price for the Santa Barbara Symphony), Aldonza in Man of La Mancha (Triad Stage), in Archetypes (Prospect Theater Company), Spring Alive (Dixon Place, cast album available) and the 2022 Off Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along (NYTW).
