18: Reflecting on the words of wise women 16 Jul 202100:25:01
Acknowledging what has been built here.
During this one-off, finale episode, Kate reflects on the imparted wisdom of her guests from season three of The Ambitious Mum Podcast.

Kate talks about everything from our long-standing and limiting beliefs to recognising when we’re out of alignment and how this shows up in our bodies.

Hear as she shares how these conversations have shifted her view during the pandemic and what increased self-awareness has gifted her during this time. She also acknowledges how making space, choosing more rest and creating time out, actually helps us create the lives we want and not what we think we should be doing or being.

Kate also shares her gratitude for the community surrounding The Ambitious Mum and what the podcast has become.

Kate Moryoussef is a Wellbeing/EFT coach and mum to four children, also newly diagnosed with ADHD (an explanation and NOT a label she's keen to point out!) who is passionate about helping women to improve their emotional and physical wellbeing, rediscover their inner voice and spirituality, tap into their expansive potential, fulfil their desires and realise themselves outside of the overwhelm, inner pressure and family dynamic.

9: Making Mindful Choices Everyday 01 Jun 202100:51:16
“All you have is time - it's what you do with your time...you're as busy as you want to be.”

In this week's Ambitious Mum powerful episode, Roberta Brown aka The Mindful Mum of London gives us a huge reminder:  “All we have is now, there’s no more rehearsing, we are nobody in the grand scheme of life, just live, live, live!”
After several family traumas, including a lifelong fear of death and health anxiety, Roberta had a breakdown from which she had a big road of recovery ahead. Therapy then led Roberta to find mindfulness and this particular practice just clicked with her, living in awareness became the new meaning to her life - so much so she felt called to teach this to others, giving them the tools to be aware of their own strength, autonomy and choice over how they live their life. Roberta, through mindfulness, now "teaches people to be present".   Kate and Roberta also talk about:   ✨ Understanding the basics of mindful meditation
✨ 'Waking up', being aware of our power within a huge universe
✨ Your right to rest and care for yourself
✨ Guilt around taking time for yourself
✨ Mirroring our family conditioning
✨ Using self-compassion in daily life and becoming a self-healer
✨ Understanding that our parents did the best they could, with what they knew
✨ How to reparent ourselves ✨ Growing your self-care toolkit
✨ Grounding and regaining control through our breath ✨ Knowing when to stop, pause, say no and practising boundaries without constant       explanation
✨ Understanding being here right now
✨ Being grateful for every minute and being content with all the small things

If you would like to work with Roberta, head to her website to find her incredible free offerings, as well as her eight-week mindfulness course.

8: How to receive and recognise your spiritual guidance25 May 202100:52:07
"Or intuition is not in our head, our head is the one that talks us out of everything and wants to keep us safe."

In her 40s, today's guest, Isobel Gatherer took a brave leap by leaving her corporate job and going freelance as a PA. Through this work, she began to attract clients that resonated with her, one of which completely changed her life when she was introduced to angel work.    It was through this angel work that Isobel found her gift of clairaudience and psychic abilities. She began by charging £10 for a card reading and after years of growing and taking guidance from her own angels, Isobel is now a full-time intuitive reader, psychic and energy healer.

In this episode hear Kate and Isobel talk about:   ✨How Isobel leaned into her own guidance to begin her new career ✨Accessing our angels and how to communicate with them
✨Guardian angels and how they can help us ✨Being open to what our body is trying to tell us
✨Learning to listen to our intuition and inner knowing
✨Recognising fear
✨Normalising asking for help and guidance, making it feel accessible and practical
✨Understanding our soul and gut ✨How to receive and recognise our guidance    They also talk about how to hold space for your child's experiences with their angels and encourage them to stay open and receive comfort from guidance and messages they may receive as they get older and go into the world.

7: Nothing changes until we do the work on ourselves18 May 202100:45:54
This week, Kate sits down with author, podcast host and relationship coach, Laura-Jane Hand.

Laura-Jane's high-pressure, high-stress corporate job was bringing her a good amount of money but left her with an empty feeling.
She speaks to how you can be aware of projecting your problems and looking outwardly to find answers, searching for something to give you connection and she reminds you to stop, turn your attention inwards and move forward from a place of authenticity.
The pair also talk about "A Course In Miracles"  and the change it brought about in both of their lives and how it became the catalyst for Laura-jane's new book: More Than A Mindset.
We also talk about:

  • The impact A Course in Miracles had on both Laura and Kate
  • What the Course in Miracles lessons are about and what they can teach us
  • How Laura's marriage problems helped her to recognise that she wanted to help others with their relationships
  • How blame and putting our problems on others isn't the answer
  • When we begin working on ourselves, others seem to naturally grow alongside with us
  • Training our mind to not dwell on fear but to start by reaching for the next best thought
  • How forgiveness is one of the most powerful choices we can make and why forgiveness alone can help heal our relationships
  • Using new awareness in our relationship to prevent us from reacting from a state of fear
  • How Laura was inspired to write her book - More than a Mindset to help others
  • Spirituality doesn't need to be too serious or time-consuming  - it's more about the intention we go with

Now, as a relationship coach, Laura-Jane is bringing a deeper sense of healing to couples allowing them to look beyond blaming one another or external situations and helping them to create more meaningful connections.

6: How to be a strong and empowered empath11 May 202100:49:59
This week's guest has lived experience of the messages she now teaches. Psychotherapist, Keeley Tavner made a choice to release aspects of the life she grew up in - letting go of friends, her job at Ikea, as well as her toxic relationship when she began studying as a mature student while being a single mother.

During an epiphany moment, while watching an episode of Oprah, Keely decided then she wanted to become a different person and better herself and her life. After many years of studying, while also working, she is now sharing her incredible knowledge, experience and insights with other women.

It was while Keeley was working in the prison service, she had a stark realisation about narcissistic individuals and the toxic relationships they create. From a personal perspective, this helped her in her own relationship but now she helps empathic people to understand how they contribute to unhealthy relationships and helps them take more responsibility, ownership and empowerment from having awareness around their own behaviour and the expectations they are projecting on to others.
In this week's episode, Kate and Keeley cover:

  • conserving and protecting energy if you're an empath
  • being patient with ourselves while in a place of self-discovery
  • chunking down our goals to prevent overwhelm
  • how narcissists can take advantage of an empath energy
  • looking at our own energy and the expectations we may hold
  • how ego holds you back
  • making conscious choices around giving and boundaries
  • managing and being aware of our expectations
  • the chasm of change
  • moving on from resentment and anger.

Keeley Taverner is a British-Jamaican psychotherapist that started adulthood as a mother of two working as a cashier at Ikea while feeling trapped in an abusive relationship with a narcissist partner. Raised by her single mother on a London council estate where “schools housed us rather than engineer our minds for success”, she left school with no qualifications, prospects, ambition or self-belief.

Self-help books were solace, and one day, as she sorted through abandoned stock at the checkout, she experienced what her ‘yellow bag’ epiphany when she heard her inner voice speaking to her loud and clear. “Surely you can do better than this, Keeley?” She listened, hard, and step by step, brick by brick, she began rebuilding her life.

From women’s refuge to fighting for a place at a university to coaching prisoners, to running her own practice, Key For Change, Keeley has boldly, passionately and courageously defied the odds -- and now she's on a mission to help others do the same.

Keeley offers life coaching, counseling and psychotherapy to enable you to achieve positive, lasting change and provide you with a confidence toolkit you can rely on for life.

5: Nourishing and rediscovering yourself through creative writing04 May 202100:52:20
When we become mothers, our creativity often gets sapped in place of exhaustion and our children's needs. Because of this, mothers need to nourish themselves even more, by releasing their suppressed imagination and getting creative again. Today’s guest, Dr Georgina Green, is helping and guiding time-poor women to do exactly this through their writing.
During this Ambitious Mum podcast episode, Kate and Georgina cover the importance of expressing yourself creatively, how it helps you to feel like your authentic self and gives you another reason for being other than your duties as a mother. They also discuss why it's so vital to carve out time for your own outlets and accept how valid this is for our mental and emotional wellbeing.
Dr Georgina Green - everyone calls her George! - is a recovering long-term academic, a mother of two boys, and a book coach for mothers who want to make time, space and energy for writing. Just as her youngest son was about to start school and she was patiently waiting to restart her career, the pandemic turned her to homeschool rather than having more time to focus on writing.

Knowing she had to make time for herself, George created Calliope's Writers - a writing community of women carving out time each week to keep each other accountable and inspire creative energy to write. The group has grown wildly over the past year and she has coached several now published and acclaimed debut authors.   Follow Dr Georgina on Instagram, visit her website to work with her, or to join her writing group follow the below links: www.georginagreen.co.uk Instagram  www.calliopeswriters.com

4: Could 'shadow work' be the most important healing you do?27 Apr 202100:54:07
How can you live a more soul-driven, authentic life, and could shadow work be the first step?

Kate dives into this form of healing with clinical psychologist, Dr Rathika Marsh.
Kate and Dr Rathika aka "The Spiritual Psychologist", uncover how unresolved trauma and emotions such as fear, anger, guilt and shame can continue to show up in our life if we don't acknowledge our childhood issues and decide to heal from our past wounds.

The pair discuss the power of using inner child work to allow ourselves to heal from painful childhood traumas which can continue to show up in our life way beyond the point at which we thought we “were over it”. They also talk about:

- conditional love
- societal conditioning
- not using our authentic voices
- validation of trauma

Rathika supports people to explore, heal and expand by combining the trauma-informed science of psychology and her own experiences of spiritual healing and shadow work, with her one-to-one packages, group healing experiences and courses.
You can follow Dr Rathika on Instagram and find out more information on her one to one work, courses and retreats via her website: thespiritualpsychologist.co.uk

12: How building a community through art can change lives.03 Dec 202000:44:35
"When women get together we can change the world."  How to create community through art.

Joining Kate this week is Adrienne Konviser, founder of Art Hub London. Hear how Adi has developed a community of women and children growing together through art sessions and how, during the pandemic, she has now taken it all online, making her art sessions available to anyone.

During the episode, Adrienne tells Kate how she suffered from post-natal depression after having her first child - something she wasn't prepared for. Despite loving her past career, she chose to leave her fast-paced all-consuming job in fashion PR and set out to carve a new career that worked for her mental health, family, while accessing her buried creative flair. Adi says that art is the missing piece in her life that she was searching for many years.

Kate and Adi talk about perfectionism and how women, in particular, often feel the need to be perfect in everything and how art is a wonderful circuit breaker to this mentality. The pair discuss how and why you should do things purely for personal enjoyment and embrace the inner joy it brings.

This week, Kate is joined by Lara Besbrode, who has worked the majority of her career in PR before her U-turn into matchmaking! Lara, going as far as she felt she could in the PR industry, began to feel bored and started craving something new and fulfilling. And when she allowed her mind to wonder as to what she would love to do next, it was in a 3 am menopausal moment when The Matchmaker UK came to fruition.
Lara admits to always having an interest in sociology, psychology and a fascination as to why we're attracted to certain people. By adopting these interests, Lara set up The Matchmaker UK by combining her strong communication and relationship skills developed through 30 years in PR.

A career shift can be a big challenge at any time but, in February 2020 just as Lara had the idea to set up this new business, she had no idea of the year that lay ahead. The following months saw Lara quickly reshift her whole business online and she soon became well-versed in how to make the best out of virtual and socially-distanced dates.

Kate and Lara talk about how popular apps have made dating just as disposable as cheap clothes, as well as new trends to revert back to discovering love in a more invested, well-rounded and deeper manner.

10: From juggling to delegating - asking for help is vital for our wellbeing19 Nov 202000:15:29
Are you the capable one, the one people come to for help?

Great at giving assistance but not so good at receiving it?

Some times you need someone else to tell you - you NEED help! Kate explains how she learnt the hard way that nobody can juggle it all and receiving help could be one of the kindest things you do for yourself.

This week Kate gives you some much-needed advice on asking for help, sharing the weight of day-to-day tasks and delegating as a means of self-care.

As mothers, the roles that we take on often go far beyond the call of duty, however as Kate explains it's ok to admit what you can't do and work out means to bring some help into your life - every woman deserves to share the load.

9: Stepping into your authentic voice and purpose is the best PR you could wish for.13 Nov 202000:45:52
Where is the line between being an ambitious career person and losing yourself in the high-pressure of a work-focused life? And when does the balance have to be re-addressed? Kate and her guest this week, PR wiz, Sarah Lloyd dive into it all.
Sarah has been in the media and PR business for over  23 years, after working in a fast-paced, high-energy PR environment for the first portion of her career. It wasn't until after having her children, that Sarah felt she needed to re-align her priorities, trust her intution and step back into alignment with her values.
During the episode, Kate and Sarah discuss how the environment they found themselves in within the busy PR world and despite being full of women, didn't lend itself to having children and well-balanced family life.

Sarah quit her global PR corporate role in 2017, in a bid to be a master of her own career and to bring a better balance to her life, which led her to set up her own PR and Brand Consultancy – IndigoSoulPR.
An intuitive and Reiki Energy Master herself, she now specialises in working in ‘flow’ so has thrown the rule book out the window. Her mission is to teach and guide others to share their stories, without fear, on their terms. Specialising in her own brand of magic-based, conscious PR and communications – her Alchemy strategy sessions help to ignite the fire within, acknowledge blocks, and help to transmute all that has held clients back from stepping up and sharing their mission and purpose.
Ambitions manifest differently for everyone and in this podcast series, Kate will be hearing about the different journeys and challenges her guests have faced whilst balancing their wellbeing & spiritual aspirations, career goals, family lives and the often-forgotten self-care.

8: Accessing our own power is fundamentally the most important thing we can do RIGHT now05 Nov 202000:37:48
How do we deconstruct our old conditionings and unlearn our ingrained beliefs? Kate and her guest Caroline Britton dive into this on this week's Ambitious Mum Podcast.

Caroline Britton is a spiritual coach and energy healer, leading women into a higher frequency energetic space and allowing them to re-write their limiting beliefs and live abundant lives.

She is an intuitive and transformational coach and an expert in helping people fulfil their potential - whether that is at a soul level or developing the tools they need to transition through mindset blocks to become a successful business founder.

Alongside a background of 14 years in a global consultancy, Caroline also has an incredibly strong intuition for helping people with an ability to be able to tune into what they feel. Caroline is able to get an extremely strong gut feel on someone beyond the words, actions and confusion they present her with and understand the true essence of them. This clairsentient gift means she is able to get truly transformational changes in people's lives.

Caroline is a mother to two small children, a successful multiple six-figure business owner, runs numerous business & life-changing programs, is a speaker and has been published in The Telegraph, Red Magazine, Forbes and featured on numerous podcasts. Caroline has recently been a speaker for Red Magazine's Smart Women's Week in London and is the newest columnist for Balance Magazine.

After her second child, Caroline really craved change, seeking something outside of her work life, as she puts “I had this niggle that I wasn’t living a full life.” And so after 14 years in the corporate world, Caroline tuned fully into her spiritual gifts with complete surrender and found this is when she started to find fulfilment, however, this journey was not without its challenges, hear as Caroline explains how she overcame them.
Kate and Caroline discuss the conditionings that we receive at all stages of our life that embed fear into how we operate and the stories that we create for our own lives that could be holding us back.

7: How to bring in more energy and wellbeing when all we feel is exhausted and overwhelmed.22 Oct 202000:58:45
We're often told to go with our gut feelings or use our intuition. But what's the science behind it and how can we actually improve our mental health by what we put into our bodies?

Joining Kate on the podcast this week is Annie Breen.

Annie is a Nutritional Therapist, NLP Practitioner and wellness and energy coach for mums.

As a cheerleader for mothers, she helps exhausted mothers who are done with quick-fix solutions that don't work, to mother themselves from the inside out so they can restore their vitality and feel good in their own skin.

Annie supports mothers in a holistic whole-body approach:  mind, body and soul.

She is also a gut-brain expert and we talk about this a lot - there is a reason why the gut is called the second brain and we delve into this in-depth during our conversation. If you've ever doubted the connection between our brains and bodies, you won't after this conversation. We talk about how stress is one of our biggest health crises right now, and we have to empower ourselves to take back control of our own lives in order to feel healthier.

We also discuss how we can improve our immune system through what we put in our bodies, as well as how we look after our emotional health.

And as forgiveness is such a big topic for me at the moment, we delve into how healing our past pain and resolving resentment, can have a hugely positive impact on both our mental and physical health. In short: by holding onto our emotional pain, we can make ourselves sicker.

During this episode, Annie explains with such depth and simplicity how we can all take some small and practical steps to improve our gut health, immune system and mental wellbeing.

5: How you can emerge from divorce feeling more empowered and positive than ever.08 Oct 202000:46:10
If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that life can throw us into a world of unexpected situations and if you're going through a separation during this time, it is something that can delve us into the darkest depths. Kate's guest this week, Helen Slater, has lived through a divorce herself, found her own power and is now helping other women dealing with separation, to process the guilt and emotions to emerge more empowered and positive.

Helen Slater is divorce and life coach who is helping women to navigate what can be the most heartbreaking, confusing and vulnerable time in their life.

Helen says that her life is completely un-recognisable compared to what it was before her own separation. Her message to women is that everything will be ok and that there is hope. She conducts her coaching from an empowering place, enabling women to take a step back and consider what it is they really want and need.   Ambitions manifest differently for everyone and in this podcast series, Kate will be hearing about the different journeys and challenges her guests have faced whilst balancing their wellbeing & spiritual aspirations, career goals, family lives and the often-forgotten self-care.

4: Discovering the healing powers of swimming wild01 Oct 202000:59:07
Anna Deacon, a photographer based in Scotland, discovered that after taking up wild swimming she found improved body confidence, new friendships, inner solace and some incredible personal stories she turned into a best-selling book.

In fact, her book, Taking The Plunge came out of a collaboration with a fellow outdoor swim enthusiast, Vicky Allan and together with Anna's incredible photography, they began collecting inspiring stories of women they met in the rivers and lakes of the UK. As well as providing helpful and encouraging advice for wild swimming, the book tells stories of mental health and life struggles that were aided by the uptake of wild swimming.

16: Creating the lives we want, one small step at a time09 Jul 202100:57:40
If you feel creatively blocked or deprived, this episode may inspire you to take stock and chase your creative desires. Choosing to leave your lucrative banking career to follow your dream at drama school, alongside having two small children, seems pretty crazy but for Esther Wane it was the best thing she ever did.
Creativity can be hard to identify with, or at times feel way out of reach. Today's guest, creative coach and storyteller, Esther Wane helps to unlock that sense of creation and purpose within people.

Esther's soul searching began following a difficult emotional time after having her children and leaving her corporate job. She then began following her own purpose and training as an actor after leaving her corporate career gave Esther what her daughter described as a "glow-up".

During this episode, Kate and Esther talk more about:

🔑 It's about those small choices you make to reach your purpose
🔑 Ask what do I want to do next?
🔑 Giving up self-doubt for over a year - and how that led her to a successful blog
🔑 The harder and darker experiences of motherhood
🔑 The concept of "The Creative Hero’s Journey"
🔑 Living life as your heroic self and moving past obstacles that prevent you from      living a life more aligned to a purpose
🔑 How we grow and learn as humans in small yet monumental ways
🔑 Allowing creativity to flow in all areas of your life - not just through art
🔑 How creativity pops in when we have quieter minds, such as driving or in the shower - notice these moments
🔑 If we stop for long enough, we do know more than we think - we don't need to know the whole journey, just the next step
🔑 The joy is in the process and making conscious choices along the way
🔑 Living authentically can make the process fun, without always focussing on the outcome
🔑 Learning on the job, honing in on the joy and the 'why' and trying not to focus on the how
🔑 Notice who and what inspires you
🔑 Gratitude and what genuinely matters to us
🔑 Use your vision board with intent, but without specifics
🔑 Using meditation, however that looks like to you

In these unique times, checking in with each other has never been more important and this week, Kate offers some moments of gratitude from her week. She talks about how as a family they've begun settling into a routine and that by easing the pressure off a little this week, she's recognised that right now acceptance is crucial - whether that's accepting everyone's different frustrations or just the new sense of normal that's beginning to form, as well as the grief we're feeling for the past that may never be the same again.

13: Ep 13: Eve Rodsky - Invest In Your Relationship Like You Invest In Toilet Paper02 Apr 202001:02:55
Kate’s guest this week is author and mediator, Eve Rodsky and her book, the New York Times bestseller, “Fair Play” is helping women all around the world gain more domestic re-balance and reclaim their life outside of their identity as a mother and partner.
As we hear on this week’s episode, there is no right way to do a pandemic, however despite this, Eve and Kate discuss some of the best tips to help create more harmony within your family unit during this time.
Eve explains to Kate what “she-fault” means and how women find themselves picking up the slack in their relationships without it ever really being discussed. They discuss how society seems to lean on women by default, or, as Eve puts it “as a society, we value men's time as finite like diamonds and women’s infinite like sand.”    Eve says that aiming for a 50/50 share of duties will set unrealistic expectations on your household unit but shares some great tips and advice that will help readjust the balance in these unprecedented times, starting within your own home and family.
Ambitions manifest differently for everyone and in this podcast series, Kate will be hearing about the different journeys and challenges her guests have faced whilst balancing their career goals, family lives and the often-forgotten self-care.

Using our breath to move from fight or flight mode towards a more grounded and centred place of being.
Jess Harrod is Kate's guest today, a breathwork specialist and coach helping people transform their mental health through the power of breath. Jess was introduced  to breathwork at the beginning of the pandemic and the day after Jess' first breathwork session, she booked her teaching course, knowing that this was something special.

🗣 How breathwork needs fine-tuning to ensure we are using our breath to our full advantage
🗣 Awareness of the connection between our inhale/exhale breath and the nervous system
🗣 How mouth breathing activates our fight or flight mode
🗣 Incremental small moments of breathwork can be so beneficial

Ep 11: Dr Orlena Kerek - How To Stay Calm When The World Has Changed.26 Mar 202000:49:44
Health coach and paediatric doctor, offers sage advice on homeschooling and caring for each other and ourselves during these tumultuous times.
In these strange times full of uncertainty and worry, Kate invites Dr Orlena Kerek, also a health coach and mother of four kids, on to the podcast to offer some advice on how best to care for yourself so that you can be there for your family.
Dr Orlena trained as a paediatric doctor in the UK. In 2011 she moved to Spain with her husband and 2 young kids. Cutting a long story short, she "accidentally lost" her medical career after having her twins and turned to the internet to keep herself busy. In the last few years, she has pivoted to teaching frustrated professional mothers to lose weight by leading a healthy life so they can feel fit and fabulous. The 4 pillars of self care that she teaches are nutrition, exercise, sleep and emotional wellness. She draws from her own experiences (still walking the trenches of parenting!) as well as the latest scientific research and thinking.
Kate and Orlena discuss the reality of the “new normal” facing us, homeschooling and the complete change in our daily routines. Together they give some reassurance at this time and hope for the future.
Ambitions manifest differently for everyone and in this podcast, Kate will be hearing about the different journeys and challenges her guests have faced whilst balancing their career goals, family lives and the often forgotten self-care.

Teenagers are growing up in the often overwhelming world of social media and this week's podcast guest has set up a business providing a place for teens to detox, feel healthier and more empowered.

Sarah Goldstone started her career in the world of fashion and then gradually made the change to being a make-up artist working at weddings and special events. However, after watching her children and friends' teenagers, Sarah saw a gap in the market for more teenage wellbeing. With teenagers living in the age of Snapchat and looking at over-polished influencers, Sarah felt she needed to provide a place for teens to learn about make-up and wellness in a healthy and well-rounded way, this being the birth of “Smudge”.

Sarah says: “It’s not just about looking pretty, it’s about what’s inside, I want you to feel good.” Smudge is all about educating teens and giving them lots of different skills, from yoga and boxing to nutrition and wellness.

Natalie Kenton is a mother of three girls, who started her career in TV and after a slight foray into running a cooking business, it was a chance meeting in the school playground that really changed things for Natalie. Eight years and over 400 kids later, Natalie runs many after-school netball clubs, each week.

2: Ep 2: Suzy Reading - Self Care Is Health Care 23 Jan 202000:49:14
Self-care that will aid your life and save you from burn-out, not give you another task to tick off.
Suzy Reading is a mother of two, an author, Chartered Psychologist and Coach. She specialises in self-care, helping people manage their stress, emotions, and energetic bank balance. It was her life experience of motherhood colliding with the terminal illness of her father that sparked her passion for self-care which she now teaches to her clients, young and old, to cope during periods of stress, loss and change.
Kate and Suzy talk meaningful self-care habits that can positively add to our lives and schedules rather than creating another thing “to-do”  as Suzy understands the often hectic and busy life of a mother doesn’t always allow an hour spare for a full yoga class, however she advocates for how useful it can be for centring ourselves. Even just committing to just one pose when our bodies and minds are crying out for a little love.

Ambitions manifest differently for everyone and in this podcast host, Kate will be hearing about the different journeys and challenges her guests have faced whilst balancing their career goals, family lives and the often forgotten and elusive self-care.

The Ambitious Mum podcast trailer18 Dec 201900:00:52
Launching in January 2020, here's the trailer for The Ambitious Mum podcast, with Kate Moryoussef. Each week, Kate speaks to a different woman about her relationship with motherhood and ambition and how that's evolved over time. The conversations, as well as the women, the careers and their choices, are suitably diverse yet many have a common thread. If you're a parent - currently working or not - this podcast will most certainly resonate with you, offering wisdom, compassion, insight and support - but mostly emphasise that there is no right or wrong path as a mum.
13: Healing our mother wound and ancestral lineage 29 Jun 202100:51:01
“If I couldn't fail and I was living without this limiting belief, what would life look like?”
Could your procrastination and anxiety be caused by ancestral trauma? Kate's guest this week is Heather Sharples, a spiritual coach who helps mothers to break the cycle of inherited beliefs.

Hear Kate and Heather discuss how ancestral trauma can manifest as depression, anxiety, self-sabotage and generally "playing small". And learn how you can move beyond limiting beliefs.

The pair also delve into the huge topic of the mother wound, honouring the strength our mothers gave us and Heather gives practical modes of inner work that can allow you to heal the mother wound for your own children and family.

Heather and Kate also talk about:

→Collective mother wound - patriarchal beliefs that have been passed on
→Planetary mother wound - what is happening across the world as women
→Personal mother wound - generation to generation of self-sabotage or feelings of not feeling enough or worth enough
→ Suppressed inherited trauma being passed on over seven generations, the notion of epigenetics
→ Fear of abandonment and rejection, with this leading to abandoning our authentic selves
→ People pleasing
→ Breaking cycles of self-sabotage and the power that gives the next generation
→ Healing by resting
→Judging ourselves and how our children watch us all the time
→ Can we choose to see what strengths we have inherited from our mothers?
→ Where are our needs not being met?
→ How to allow our frustration to rise to show us where we need to change
→ How can we delegate to free ourselves from the pressure?
→ Are you a martyr to motherhood, full of resentment?
→ How the need for ancestral healing can be masked as depression and anxiety
→ How the notion of life 'happening to us' needs to be flipped
→ How internalised trauma can manifest in physical illness and by healing our ancestral pain

12: Aligning with your heart over your head22 Jun 202101:08:55
This week's episode is a special one as Kate chats to her good friend and former boss, Suzy Glaskie.  After knowing each other for 16 years, this conversation is all about their shared experience of starting afresh when your previous career doesn't align with your heart anymore.

Despite her lifelong interest in holistic practices, after graduating from university Suzy became sidetracked from this with a long career in PR, which on the surface went from strength to strength. After having her children, Suzy even started her own PR company, alongside her husband, which grew rapidly and successfully yet when she looked around the office she knew this wasn't what she wanted forever.

This is where Suzy's holistic awakening took shape and after doing a reiki session with her very poorly father, she hit a turning point where she decided to leave her business - the very next day.

Kate and Suzy's talk about her long-time interest in wellbeing which then led her to retrain as a functional medicine lifestyle coach and launch her business, Peppermint Wellness, where she is now helping people from all walks of life in preventive health and emotional wellness.

Together Suzy and Kate talk about:

  • How health coaching is all about connection, gentle steps and hand-holding
  • The power of a daily gratitude practice
  • Creating a journal practice and using the writing to solidify our gratitude and desires
  • The importance of incorporating lifestyle prevention and wellness into our daily lives
  • The beauty of spending time in nature, however that looks like to you
  • Feeling misaligned with work and using this knowledge to leverage a new chapter in your life
  • Subtly imparting health knowledge and wisdom to children without turning them away.
