21: I Want to be Black as Hell (feat. The African Diaspora Alliance)07 Mar 202001:02:05

In this week's episode,  I sit down with Jasmine and Michael of The African Diaspora Alliance (ADA). ADA holistically connects descendants of Africa to the global African community through their international excursions, youth programs and workshops. In a world where we as a people are oppressed and killed based on our mere existence, it is more important now than ever to connect to our brothers and sisters of the diaspora. After really exploring where our roots and foundation really comes from, I think you'll be surprised to learn we are not as different as we appear.

20: How to Make Vegetable-Based Meat Substitutes28 Feb 202000:16:53

In this week's episode, we discuss how to replace meat without relying on processed meat substitutes. With the surge of new "fake" meats hitting the market we need to take a step back and connect to the land with what we know to be true. Regardless of what you eat, plants are the foundation for a healthy and nutritious human experience.  Getting creative with vegetables really does change our food landscape for the better, and creates a new standard for what good food is.

19: Cape Verde Dinner Table (feat. cattsmeowww)22 Feb 202000:34:53

In this episode, I look back at the inaugural podcast segment Soul Food Sunday. A segment where I interview a guest from the African Diaspora and talk food. To me true soul food is a dish with a story and culture. My guess Cat and I talk about the brief history of the different Cape Verde islands, growing up in America racially ambiguous and how Cape Verdians throw down in the kitchen during celebrations.

18: Building Plant-Based Environments (feat. Thee Plant Daddy)14 Feb 202000:34:26

Thee Plant Daddy's fascination with nature dates back to his childhood where he would build naturalistic enclosures for amphibians/reptiles and spend the majority of his time in nature learning as much as I could about the world around him. In a world where concrete jungles are increasingly prevalent, his aim is to assist in stimulating the instinctive desire that humans have for nature.  Tune in on this incredible throwback interview from the Edible Activist podcast hosted by Melissa L. Jones.
