529: Letting Go of the "I've Got This" Mask | Laura Dionisio24 Sep 202600:44:16

Episode Summary:

In this episode, I'm joined by Laura Dionisio, one of our Certified Adult Chair® Master Coaches, for a powerful and vulnerable conversation about what happens when we stop living from our protective masks and begin listening to what our body is trying to tell us.

Laura shares her journey from an engineering, high-achieving mindset into a more heart-open life led from within. She talks about the "badass" or "I've got this" mask she wore for years, how it protected her inner child, and what it looked like to finally begin letting that mask go.

We also talk about shame, inner child healing, and why so many of us keep running around the very feelings that are asking to be felt, metabolized, and released. Laura shares how The Adult Chair® framework helped her work with her adolescent parts instead of fighting them, and how she learned to reconnect with her body after years of living mostly from her head.

This episode is such a beautiful reminder that healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about softening the masks, turning toward the parts of us that feel afraid or ashamed, and learning how to live from the truth of who we really are.

Key Takeaways:

  • Protective masks often form when parts of us feel afraid, unsafe, ashamed, or unsupported
  • Laura's "tough" persona helped her feel protected, but eventually became something she was ready to release
  • Shame, unworthiness, and fear do not transform when we avoid them. We have to turn toward them with compassion
  • Feeling emotions in the body can feel confusing at first, especially if you have spent years living in your head
  • A body scan is a simple practice that helps you notice physical sensations without trying to change them
  • "Reverse bedtime procrastination" can be a sign that your needs, joy, or truth are being ignored during the day
  • Creating space between a realization and an action can help you own your truth without panicking
  • Fear and doubt do not always mean you are making the wrong decision. Sometimes they are protective parts trying to keep you safe

528: How Inner Child Work Can Transform Relationships | Tracy Brown17 Sep 202600:43:51
Episode Summary

Have you ever wanted to change a relationship with someone you love, but had no idea where to begin?

In this episode, I'm joined by Tracy Brown, one of my Adult Chair coaches, for a vulnerable conversation about how inner child work, parts work, and speaking from the heart helped her transform her relationship with her father.

Tracy shares how she moved through old hurt, resentment, and the story that her dad did not really want to be with her. After working with the younger parts of herself that felt forgotten and not special, she was able to speak her truth without blame, open her heart, and create a completely different outcome than her ego could have imagined.

Key Takeaways
  • The ego creates stories when we feel hurt, rejected, forgotten, or not prioritized
  • Stories can make us believe there is only one way someone can prove they love us
  • Parts work helps us identify the younger parts that are carrying old pain
  • Tracy discovered a three-year-old part of herself that felt lonely, sad, forgotten, and not special
  • Emotional release can create more space, softness, and compassion in the body
  • Speaking from the heart is different than speaking from the head or ego
  • Vulnerability invites a different kind of response from the other person
  • When we speak our truth without blame, we create space for deeper connection
  • The ego bases the future on what has happened in the past
  • Staying present allows the outcome to be better than we could have imagined
  • Journaling after inner work helps with integration and deeper understanding
  • Inner child work is ongoing, and younger parts may still need love and attention after a breakthrough

527: Self-Worth is an Inside Job10 Sep 202600:34:49
Episode Summary

Self-worth is an inside job, but so many of us were taught to look outside of ourselves to feel valuable. In this episode, I'm talking about what self-worth really is, where it comes from, and how appearance, performance, perfectionism, people-pleasing, codependency, and outside validation can shape the way we see ourselves.

I also share part of my own story of growing up with my worth tied to beauty and appearance, and how that eventually led me on a deeper journey of building real self-worth from within.

You'll learn how to come back to fact and truth when comparison or self-judgment starts to spiral, how to practice self-validation in small everyday moments, and how to help children build healthy self-worth by validating who they are, not just what they do.

Key Takeaways
  • Self-worth is not something you have to earn
  • Looking outside of yourself for your worth leads to unhealthy patterns and relationships
  • Appearance, performance, helping, perfectionism, and people-pleasing can all become ways we try to feel worthy
  • Codependency can make our identity and self-worth feel tied to helping others
  • Children build self-worth through what is modeled and reflected back to them
  • Validating children for who they are is more powerful than only praising what they do
  • Comparison is not always the problem. The problem is when comparison turns into self-judgment
  • Stories are not fact and truth, and they can send us into anxiety, overwhelm, and awfulizing
  • You have the power to choose which thoughts you latch onto
  • Changing your physical state can help interrupt a negative emotional spiral
  • Small daily validations matter, even if no one else sees them
  • Healthy self-worth is built from the inside out

526: Empty Nest, New Chapter: Who You Become When the Kids Leave03 Sep 202600:21:55
Episode Summary

In this episode, I'm talking about empty nest syndrome and what it really feels like when one or more of your children leave the nest.

So many people talk about this season of life, but nothing can fully prepare you for the grief, quiet, sadness, and identity shift that can come when your child moves out, goes to college, or begins building a life outside your home.

Today, I'm sharing seven ways to navigate empty nest syndrome from your Adult Chair. We talk about allowing yourself to feel the grief instead of numbing or avoiding it, validating yourself for the job you did as a parent, trusting your children to figure life out, and learning how to let them make mistakes without rushing in to save them.

I also talk about why this season can become the beginning of your "act three." After years of raising children, driving carpool, making meals, showing up at practices, helping with school, and focusing so much energy on your family, the focus begins to shift back to you. This can feel uncomfortable at first, but it can also become a beautiful opportunity to rediscover who you are now.

This episode is a reminder that empty nest grief is real, but it does not last forever. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. When we allow our emotions to move through, trust our children, honor the wisdom we have earned, and create space to reconnect with ourselves, this new chapter can become a powerful season of healing, freedom, and rediscovery.

Key Takeaways
  • Grief is a healthy part of the empty nest process
  • From the Adult Chair, we do not avoid grief. We feel it, journal it, walk with it, cry it out, and allow it to move through
  • Grief may come in waves, especially when you think about your child or notice the quiet in the house
  • You do not have to be a perfect parent to acknowledge that you did a good job
  • Trusting your child means allowing them to make mistakes, figure things out, and learn resilience
  • When we constantly save or fix things for our children, they do not learn how to trust themselves
  • Empty nest can be the beginning of "act three," a new season where wisdom catches up with freedom
  • Boredom can be powerful because it creates space for inspiration, intuition, and new ideas
  • Getting quiet allows you to hear the deeper nudges and downloads that can guide your next chapter

525: Remove Money Blocks and Become Abundant | Shanna Stevens27 Aug 202600:32:41

Episode Summary

We're talking about money and abundance today, and this is such a powerful topic because the word "money" alone can bring up so much contraction, fear, shame, and emotion for people.

In this episode, I'm joined by Shanna Stevens, a holistic master life coach through The Adult Chair, for a vulnerable and transformational conversation about money blocks, receiving abundance, and the unconscious beliefs that can keep us stuck.

So many people are doing all the "right" things. They are visualizing, affirming, meditating, making vision boards, taking wealth consciousness courses, and trying to manifest abundance. But sometimes, no matter how much we consciously desire something, there is an unconscious belief underneath that is blocking us from receiving it.

Shanna shares that she had been doing all the things to call in more money and abundance, but instead of money flowing in, she was feeling scarcity, fear, embarrassment, and stress around paying bills, buying food, and finding income. During one of our coaching calls, she vulnerably raised her hand and asked for help, and we began listening for the patterns and keywords underneath what she was saying.

As we worked together, we traced her money block back to a childhood memory of being five years old and watching her mother cry as boxes of donated food and clothing were being dropped off for their family. As a child, Shanna took on the embarrassment she felt from her mother and unconsciously formed the belief that receiving abundance was embarrassing.

Once we found that taproot, we were able to work with her inner child, update the old belief, and help her see the truth: her family was actually receiving abundance. It may not have looked the way the ego thought it should, but support, food, clothing, and care were coming in.

After that shift, Shanna felt lighter, softer, more open, and more able to receive. Within days, money and opportunities began flowing in, including refunded fees, new clients, paid-in-full sessions, an invitation to present, and more ease in her body and energy.

Key Takeaways:

  • The word "money" can bring up contraction, fear, shame, and triggers for many people
  • Abundance blocks are often connected to unconscious beliefs formed in childhood
  • Manifesting, affirmations, gratitude, and vision boards can be helpful, but they may not work if an opposite core belief is running underneath
  • Our unconscious beliefs often create the reality we are living in now
  • Triggers can reveal the hidden beliefs that are blocking what we want to create
  • Owning your current reality is the first step to transformation
  • Shanna's money block was connected to embarrassment, worthiness, and receiving
  • As a child, Shanna took on her mother's embarrassment around receiving donated food and clothing
  • The old belief that emerged was: "To receive abundance is embarrassing"
  • Inner child work helps us update old programs and release beliefs that are no longer true
  • Receiving abundance can include money, support, opportunities, love, friendship, care, and ease
  • When an old belief shifts, the body and energy field can feel lighter, softer, and more open
  • Money and opportunities can begin to flow more easily when the energetic block is removed
  • Abundance does not have to feel forced or heavy. It can feel easy, aligned, and natural

524: The Hidden Pattern Keeping You Stuck20 Aug 202600:25:19
Episode Summary

Feeling stuck can feel overwhelming, hopeless, and frustrating, but you are more powerful than you think.

I'm sharing six simple tools to help you get unstuck and begin creating real movement in your life. Whether you feel stuck in a relationship, a job, a friendship, a pattern, or the way you feel about yourself, these steps can help you shift your energy, change your thoughts, and start moving toward the life you truly want.

I talk about the importance of accepting where you are right now, not because you like it or want it to stay that way, but because acceptance creates movement. When we stop avoiding what is right in front of us, we can begin to make new choices.

I also share how to get clear on where you want to go, how to stop giving energy to what you do not want, and why your thoughts and spoken words are so powerful. We talk about gratitude, journaling, emotional release, and the choice we all have between staying in the victim seat or stepping into empowerment.

Key Takeaways
  • Accepting your current reality does not mean you like it, approve of it, or want it to stay the same
  • Avoiding what is happening in your life takes a lot of energy
  • Getting clear on what you want helps you move toward a new reality
  • Visualization and feeling into your future self can help you create change
  • Your thoughts are powerful, but your spoken words are even more powerful
  • Talking constantly about what is wrong can keep you anchored in the reality you want to change
  • Gratitude helps shift your energy and move you from stuckness toward possibility
  • Journaling is a powerful way to purge thoughts, emotions, and energy from the body
  • You can choose the victim path or the empowered path
  • Intentional thoughts and conscious choices help you reclaim your power

523: Are You an Empath or Highly Sensitive Person? Here's the Difference13 Aug 202600:25:46

Have you ever wondered if you are an empath, a highly sensitive person, or both?

I'm breaking down the difference between an empath and an HSP, which stands for highly sensitive person. I explain what empathy is, what makes someone an empath, and how empaths often absorb the emotions and energy of people, groups, and places. When we do not understand this about ourselves, it can lead to overwhelm, fatigue, anxiety, depression, mood swings, and the feeling that something is wrong with us when really, we are picking up on energy that may not even belong to us.

I also share common traits of empaths, including sensitivity to light, sound, crowds, other people's emotions, nature, animals, and authenticity. Then, I explain how highly sensitive people are similar to empaths, but with one key difference: HSPs may sense and feel deeply, but they do not absorb other people's emotions in the same way an empath does.

Key Takeaways
  • Empathy is the ability to feel with another person, but being an empath takes this sensitivity to another level
  • Empaths are deeply attuned to the energy and emotions of people, groups, and places
  • Many empaths do not realize they are absorbing emotions that are not their own
  • Unaware empaths may experience overwhelm, fatigue, anxiety, depression, or mood instability
  • Empaths often feel deeply connected to nature and animals
  • Crowds, noise, bright lights, television, news, and chaotic environments can feel overwhelming to an empath's nervous system
  • People are often naturally drawn to empaths and may share deeply personal things with them
  • Empaths can often sense when someone is being inauthentic or hiding behind a mask
  • Alone time, or "cave time," helps empaths recharge
  • Self-care, nature, grounding, boundaries, and micro moments of peace are essential for empaths
  • Highly sensitive people and empaths share many traits, but HSPs do not absorb other people's emotions in the same way
  • You can be both an empath and a highly sensitive person

522: What Healthy Relationships Actually Look Like06 Aug 202600:27:48

In this episode, I'm talking about what a healthy relationship actually looks like.

After hearing from so many people about narcissism, gaslighting, and unhealthy relationship patterns, I wanted to talk about the other side: how do we know when a relationship is healthy? Whether it is with a partner, parent, sibling, friend, child, or anyone else in your life, healthy relationships have certain qualities that help us feel safe, respected, heard, and connected.

I share eight qualities of healthy relationships, including mutual respect, healthy apologies, enjoying each other's company, respecting boundaries, thoughtfulness, honoring each other's needs, listening with presence, and having open, honest communication.

I also talk about why communication is one of the most important parts of a healthy relationship. So many of us expect others to know what we feel or need, but it is our job to share our reality. When we speak from "I," express what is happening inside of us, and ask for what we need without blame or shame, relationships can begin to change.

Key Takeaways
  • Healthy relationships are built on mutual respect, even when two people do not agree
  • A healthy apology means owning the hurt we caused, even if it was unintentional
  • Enjoying someone's company, feeling relaxed around them, and looking forward to seeing them are signs of a healthy connection
  • Respectful boundaries are essential in healthy relationships
  • Thoughtfulness does not have to be complicated. It can be as simple as checking in, offering kind words, or remembering what someone needs
  • People in healthy relationships want to know and honor each other's needs
  • Listening with presence helps the other person feel seen, heard, and valued
  • Open and honest communication is one of the most important qualities of a healthy relationship
  • Using "I" statements helps us share our reality without blaming or putting the other person on defense
  • Healthy relationships require regular check-ins, intentional connection, and a willingness to talk about what is really going on

521: What Your Anxiety is Trying to Tell You30 Jul 202600:20:41

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but when we understand what is really underneath it, we can begin to take our power back.

In this episode, I'm talking about how to end anxiety and become empowered. In The Adult Chair®, I define anxiety as the physical manifestation of unfelt emotions. Anxiety often shows up in the body through symptoms like shortness of breath, tightness in the throat, knots in the stomach, racing thoughts, or a rattled nervous system. But underneath those physical symptoms, there are usually emotions that need our attention.

When we are anxious, the ego often tells us to do more, fix more, think more, or keep pushing. But that only keeps us on the treadmill. The way out is to slow down, turn inward, and begin noticing what is happening emotionally and physically inside of us.

I walk you through two simple steps and five tools to help calm anxiety and bring you back into your Adult Chair®. These tools include mindfulness, deep belly breathing, time in nature, meditation, and journaling. Each one helps regulate the nervous system, move emotions through the body, and reconnect you with your power.

Key Takeaways
  • In The Adult Chair®, anxiety is defined as the physical manifestation of unfelt emotions
  • Anxiety often shows up through physical symptoms in the body
  • Thoughts can direct us into the past or future, which can create emotions that rattle the nervous system
  • Becoming aware of what anxiety really is helps us step back into our power
  • Feeling emotions is one of the most important steps in calming anxiety
  • The ego often tells us to do more, but the real healing begins when we slow down
  • Mindfulness helps bring us into the present moment and back into the Adult Chair
  • Slow belly breathing helps regulate the nervous system and activate the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Nature can help calm the body, mind, and energy field
  • Meditation teaches us to observe thoughts without reacting to them
  • Journaling helps move stuck thoughts and emotions out of the body and onto paper
  • Taking action is what helps us feel empowered

520: 5 Ways to Stop People-Pleasing and Be Your Authentic Self23 Jul 202600:19:10

Your true self is the authentic, pure essence of who you were before the world taught you to become someone else.

Today, I'm talking about what the true self really is and how we can begin reconnecting with it. When we are born, we come in with our true essence. But as we grow up, we begin adapting, changing, and creating a false self so we can feel loved, accepted, safe, and like we belong.

Over time, this false self can cover up the truth of who we really are. We may lose touch with what we feel, what we need, what nourishes us, and what helps us feel connected to ourselves. But the good news is that anyone can begin to rediscover and live from their true self.

In this episode, I'm sharing five simple ways to reconnect with your true self: getting in touch with your emotions, tuning into your needs, practicing self-care, using breathwork, and journaling. These practices help us slow down, listen inward, and begin claiming the parts of ourselves we may have hidden, forgotten, or pushed away.

Key Takeaways
  • The true self is your authentic self, the pure essence of who you were born as
  • The false self develops as we adapt to feel safe, loved, accepted, and like we belong
  • Many of us disconnect from our emotions because we were never taught how to feel them
  • Reconnecting with your emotions helps you access deeper parts of yourself
  • Your needs are different from your wants, and learning to identify them is essential
  • Asking for what you need is part of living from your true self
  • Self-care is not selfish. It is self-loving
  • Practicing self-care supports self-worth and helps you reconnect with who you really are
  • Breathwork can help release stuck emotions and take you deeper into yourself
  • Journaling helps you access your unconscious mind, higher self, and deeper inner wisdom
  • Rediscovering your true self happens through awareness, validation, and small daily practices

519: How to Process Negative Emotions Without Getting Stuck16 Jul 202600:23:07

In this episode, I'm talking about one of the questions I hear all the time: What do we do with negative emotions?

So many of us have been taught to push away, numb, judge, or "get rid of" emotions like anger, grief, sadness, fear, rage, and frustration. But the truth is, emotions are not bad. They are part of being human, and they are meant to move through us.

I talk about why we develop resistance to certain emotions, especially when we grew up receiving messages that our feelings were too much, wrong, annoying, or unsafe. When we are not taught how to process emotions, we often reach for ways to numb out, distract, avoid, or blame others for what we are feeling.

Key Takeaways
  • Emotions are part of being human, and we are meant to feel a full range of them
  • Many of us learned to block, judge, or numb our emotions because of messages we received growing up
  • "Negative emotions" are not bad. They are simply emotions on the fear end of the emotional spectrum
  • Fear can protect us, anger can help us access power, and sadness can give us important information about our inner world
  • Emotions are energy, and when we allow them to move through the body, they can shift and transform
  • The 90-second rule reminds us that intense emotions can move through us quickly when we do not block them or attach a story to them
  • Journaling helps us witness our inner world, process emotions, and gain clarity

518: The Missing Piece to Manifesting Your Reality09 Jul 202600:39:08

In this episode, I'm talking about the art of manifesting and how we can begin creating the reality we truly want.

Manifesting is not just about thinking positive thoughts or saying an affirmation once and hoping something appears. The law of attraction is always working, just like gravity, but many of us have subconscious beliefs that block the very things we are trying to create. These beliefs may sound like, "I'm not good enough," "I don't deserve that," "money is hard to make," or "people will judge me if I have too much." When those beliefs are running underneath the surface, they can cancel out the conscious desires we are trying to manifest.

I walk you through a powerful process for discovering and clearing the inner blocks that may be keeping you from receiving what you want. I also share how to get clear on your desire, notice what happens in your body when you imagine having it, shift your mindset, align your energy, and act as if your creation is already on its way.

Key Takeaways
  • Manifesting is always happening because we are always creating with our thoughts, beliefs, words, and energy
  • The law of attraction is always on, just like the law of gravity
  • Subconscious beliefs can block the things we consciously want to create
  • Many people are more comfortable talking about what they do not want than clearly naming what they do want
  • Guilt, shame, overwhelm, unworthiness, or tightness in the body can reveal a subconscious block
  • The body can show us where our energy is contracted around a desire
  • Parts work can help us communicate with the part of us that is blocking a creation
  • Alignment means tuning your energy to the same frequency as the thing you want to create
  • Your mindset, words, and daily focus matter when manifesting
  • It is important to protect a new creation from other people's doubts, projections, or fears
  • Acting as if your creation is already coming helps you stay aligned with it
  • Patience and consistency are key when creating something new

517: Emotions Are Our Superpower… Here's Why02 Jul 202600:27:29

Today I'm talking about one of my favorite topics and one of the most important parts of becoming a healthy adult: learning how to feel your feelings.

So many of us were never taught how to tune into what is happening inside of us. We learned to think, perform, push through, numb out, fix others, or disconnect from our feelings altogether. But when we do not know how to feel, we also lose connection with our intuition, empathy, self-trust, and the inner parts of us that need our attention.

In this episode, I break down why feeling your feelings matters, how it helps us become whole, and why it is such an important part of healing codependency, connecting with the inner child, and becoming more emotionally intelligent. I also share practical ways to begin, including body scans, journaling, inner child work, and gently working with the parts of you that may feel blocked or resistant.

Key Takeaways
  • Feeling your feelings helps you become a more whole and connected human
  • Many of us learned to numb, suppress, or avoid our feelings because we were never taught what to do with them
  • Emotional intelligence is just as important as intellectual intelligence
  • Feeling your feelings helps strengthen intuition and inner guidance
  • Empathy grows when we are able to feel and understand our own internal experience
  • Codependency begins to heal when we redirect our energy back to ourselves instead of constantly focusing on others
  • Feelings only stay stuck when we attach stories, assumptions, or meaning to them
  • Journaling can help move feelings out of the body and onto the page
  • Inner child work is a powerful way to reconnect with your feelings
  • Resistance to feeling is often a protective part that needs compassion, not judgment

516: What Your Birth Chart Reveals About Your Soul's Path25 Jun 202600:53:06

If you've ever wondered what your birth chart says about your life purpose, relationships, karma, or soul path, this episode is for you.

I'm joined by evolutionary astrologer Jill Brown for a fascinating conversation about astrology, soul purpose, karma, past lives, and the deeper blueprint we each carry into this lifetime.

We talk about how astrology is so much more than your sun sign. Jill explains that evolutionary astrology is not about predicting every detail of your life or giving your power away. Instead, it is a tool for self-understanding, helping us see our soul's blueprint, karmic patterns, life lessons, relationship dynamics, parenting insights, career themes, and the places where we may be invited to grow.

Jill also shares what she sees in the astrology of 2026, including why this year may feel like the beginning of a new era. We talk about nervous system regulation, discernment, technology, AI, Uranus in Gemini, and how we can stay grounded during seasons of collective change.

Key Takeaways
  • A birth chart can be used as a tool for self-understanding, healing, and personal growth
  • Evolutionary astrology looks at the "chart behind the chart" to explore karmic memory, soul lessons, and life purpose
  • Jill's journey into astrology began through personal healing, motherhood, family patterns, and a powerful chart reading
  • Karma can be understood as memory, imprint, or an invitation to make new choices
  • Saturn returns can bring major life transitions, identity shifts, and deeper questions about purpose
  • Understanding a child's birth chart can help parents better support their unique needs, communication style, and life path
  • Your chart can offer insight into your work, relationships, balance, purpose, and what feels aligned for you
  • Nervous system regulation can help us respond instead of react during uncertain times

515: How to Build Solid Confidence | Nicole Kalil18 Jun 202600:41:21

In this episode, I'm joined by Nicole Kalil for a powerful and practical conversation about confidence.

Nicole has spent years studying, researching, and teaching confidence, and she breaks it down in such a grounded way. Instead of seeing confidence as something we fake, perform, or get from the outside world, Nicole defines confidence as firm and bold trust in self.

We talk about how confidence is something many of us are born with, but begin to lose as we absorb expectations, criticism, people-pleasing, perfectionism, comparison, and what Nicole calls "head trash." She shares the five confidence builders that help us rebuild trust with ourselves, including taking action, moving through fear and failure, giving ourselves grace, choosing confidence, and building internal trust one step at a time.

This conversation is such a beautiful reminder that confidence is not about looking perfect or never feeling afraid. It is about knowing who you are, owning who you are not, and choosing to trust yourself as you take the next right step.

Key Takeaways
  • Confidence is not about looking confident. It is about building firm and bold trust in yourself
  • Many of us are born trusting ourselves, but life, expectations, criticism, and social conditioning can disconnect us from that trust
  • Confidence is built through action, especially small, consistent steps toward what matters most
  • Failure, fear, mistakes, and doubt can build deeper confidence when we learn to move through them instead of avoid them
  • Giving yourself grace and practicing self-compassion are essential parts of building confidence
  • Confidence is a choice we can practice moment by moment until the feeling begins to catch up
  • "Head trash" is the unkind and often untrue inner dialogue that chips away at our self-trust
  • Perfectionism, comparison, overthinking, and seeking confidence externally can derail confidence
  • Keeping commitments to yourself helps build internal trust
  • Real confidence comes from knowing who you are, owning who you are not, and embracing all of it

514: Moving On After Hurt11 Jun 202600:29:17

Today I'm talking about how to move on after you have been hurt.

Whether it is heartbreak, betrayal, disappointment, family pain, friendship breakups, or someone not showing up the way you hoped they would, hurt is part of the human experience. But moving on is not always as simple as forgiving, forgetting, or pretending it did not matter. When we are hurt, the pain can linger, and if we do not know how to work with it, we can start living from the wound instead of from our healthy adult self.

In this episode, I break down why we get stuck in pain, how the ego mind tries to loop, ruminate, and figure everything out, and why old wounds can make present-day hurt feel even more intense. I also walk you through how to move through hurt in a whole-body way by feeling your emotions, stopping the wait for an apology, getting honest about what the experience is teaching you, and letting the pain transform you instead of define you.

Key Takeaways
  • Moving on after hurt does not mean pretending it did not happen
  • Hurt can change us, our relationships, and the way we see ourselves if we do not process it
  • The mind often revisits what the heart has not yet resolved
  • Rumination is the ego's attempt to figure out, fix, or control emotional pain
  • Present-day hurt can activate older wounds, including childhood abandonment, betrayal, or shame
  • If the pain feels disproportionate to what happened, there may be a deeper taproot wound underneath it
  • Waiting for an apology can keep us stuck in pain, anger, and victim energy
  • Feeling emotions fully allows the energy of the emotion to move through the body
  • Healing requires getting radically honest about what the experience is teaching us
  • Pain can transform us when we use it for growth instead of allowing it to define us

513: BioEmotional Healing and Rewiring the Nervous System | Ashleigh DiLello04 Jun 202600:54:08

In this episode, I'm joined by Ashleigh DiLello, the founder and creator of BioEmotional Healing, for a powerful conversation about the brain, body, nervous system, chronic pain, trauma, and what it really takes to heal.

Ashleigh shares her incredible story of becoming severely ill at just 13 years old, living between life and death for years, and eventually finding her way back to health, dance, and life. After building a successful career as a professional dancer, TV and Broadway performer, wife, and mother, she faced another life-altering health crisis after a failed hip surgery launched her body into chronic pain.

We talk about how the nervous system stores our life experiences, why stress responses can show up as anxiety, perfectionism, chronic pain, autoimmune issues, gut issues, and other symptoms, and why regulating the nervous system is only part of the healing process.

Key Takeaways
  • The brain-body connection plays a major role in chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, and healing
  • Long-term survival mode can become familiar to the nervous system, even after the original threat is gone
  • Stress responses can show up in many ways, including pain, anxiety, perfectionism, depression, OCD behaviors, autoimmune symptoms, gut issues, and more
  • Regulation helps calm the nervous system in the moment, but rewiring changes the deeper patterns that keep the stress response active
  • Self-compassion is essential for nervous system rewiring because harsh self-criticism keeps the brain in a protective state
  • Healing requires rebuilding trust with yourself, your body, and your ability to create a new identity
  • We can honor what we have been through without allowing it to define the rest of our lives

512: Narcissism Explained28 May 202600:37:38

Today, I'm breaking down a topic that comes up all the time: narcissism.

This is a word we hear everywhere now, especially online and on social media, but it is often misunderstood and overused. In this episode, I explain what narcissism really is, what narcissistic traits can look like, where they come from, and how to know the difference between narcissistic tendencies and narcissistic personality disorder.

I also answer some of the biggest questions I receive around this topic: Can someone heal from narcissism? How do you know if you are a narcissist? Why do you keep attracting narcissistic relationships? Can you change a narcissistic partner? And how do you navigate a relationship with a narcissistic parent?

This episode is not about labeling or blaming. It is about understanding the deeper shame, wounding, and identity patterns underneath narcissism, while also learning how to protect your energy, build your self-worth, and create healthier relationships from your Adult Chair.

Key Takeaways
  • Narcissism is a term that is often overused, especially online and on social media
  • Narcissistic traits can include needing to be the center of attention, lacking empathy, deflecting criticism, and struggling to take responsibility
  • Underneath narcissistic behavior is often deep shame and a false identity built around being seen as special, perfect, or superior
  • Narcissism can develop when a child is placed on a pedestal or when a child is neglected and creates a false self to survive
  • Narcissistic traits exist on a spectrum, and narcissistic personality disorder is at the far end of that spectrum
  • If someone is genuinely worried they may be a narcissist, that awareness is often a hopeful sign
  • You cannot change a narcissistic partner unless they truly want to do their own inner work
  • Repeatedly attracting narcissistic relationships often points to old wounds, beliefs, and patterns that need to be updated
  • When a parent is narcissistic, healing often requires grief, boundaries, self-worth work, and sometimes no contact

511: How Focused Life-Force Energy Supports Consciousness and Healing21 May 202601:02:15

In this episode, I'm joined by Jeffrey Stegman and Clayten Stedmann, the co-founders of FLFE, which stands for Focused Life Force Energy.

This is such a fascinating conversation about consciousness, energy, EMFs, and what happens when we create a higher-consciousness environment in our homes, businesses, and everyday lives. Jeffrey and Clayten share the story of how FLFE began, how they came together through business coaching and consciousness work, and how this technology is designed to support a field of unconditional love in a specific location.

We talk about the Hawkins Scale of Consciousness, how environments can affect our nervous system, why EMFs may be impacting us more than we realize, and how high-consciousness fields can support calm, sleep, forgiveness, emotional regulation, and a greater sense of well-being.

This conversation is a beautiful reminder that we are energy first, and the spaces we live in matter more than we often realize.

Key Takeaways
  • FLFE is designed to support a high-consciousness field in a home, business, or around a cell phone
  • Jeffrey and Clayten describe FLFE as a technology that associates focused life force energy with a specific location or identifier
  • Our environments can deeply influence our nervous systems, emotions, sleep, focus, and overall well-being
  • EMFs from Wi-Fi, cell phones, smart meters, appliances, and other modern technology may contribute to dysregulation for some people
  • A high-consciousness environment can help support peace, calm, emotional regulation, and a greater ability to shift negative thoughts
  • The Hawkins Scale of Consciousness offers a way to understand different emotional and energetic states, from shame and fear to love, peace, and enlightenment
  • Michelle shares her personal experience using FLFE after living near power lines and noticing a major shift in her energy
  • Consciousness work invites us to become more curious about the energy around us and how it affects our lives

510: I Had to Leave to Come Back: Why Every Relationship Starts with You14 May 202600:25:04

In this solo episode, I'm sharing a very personal update about the evolution of the podcast, the deeper meaning behind its new name, and what this next chapter means for all of us. I talk about why I had to step away in order to see more clearly, what I discovered about my relationship with The Adult Chair, and how coming back to it from a new place of clarity and wholeness changed everything.

I also explore two powerful teachings that are at the heart of this work: the illuminated path and the importance of feeling your emotions. I share how learning to stay grounded, present, and connected to yourself can transform every relationship in your life, because the most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.

Key Takeaways
  • Growth is ongoing, and we are always evolving into new versions of ourselves.
  • Peace is a more sustainable goal than chasing temporary moments of happiness.
  • Every relationship reflects something about our relationship with ourselves.
  • The illuminated path is the path of the higher self, where each next step becomes clear when we stay present and grounded.
  • The ego wants certainty about the future, but real alignment comes from trusting the next step.
  • Feeling your emotions requires being in the body, not just living in the mind.
  • Grounding, body awareness, and curiosity are essential tools for emotional healing and inner clarity.

Harmony shares her personal journey through yoga, mysticism, energy work, and healing from autoimmune symptoms and chronic fatigue. We also explore the mind-body connection, the role of the nervous system, and how unconscious beliefs, emotional patterns, and old wounds can shape the way we show up in our lives. 507: Sadness, Anger, Fear: What Do We Do With Our Emotions?23 Apr 202600:56:55

In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Liz Burkholder for a real, unscripted conversation about emotions, what they're here to teach us, and how to move through them in a healthy way. We talk about anger, grief, sadness, fear, anxiety, and what happens when we keep pushing our emotions down instead of allowing them to move through us.

Liz and I also explore what it means to truly hold space for ourselves and for other people, why so many of us were never taught how to feel our emotions, and how emotional repression can show up in the body, in relationships, and in everyday life. This is a powerful conversation about learning to stay present with what you feel instead of bypassing it, fixing it, or trying to make it go away.

In this episode, you'll hear:

  • Why anger is a healthy emotion and how it can help you set boundaries
  • The difference between feeling anger and projecting it onto other people
  • How emotions like sadness and anger can sometimes cover for each other
  • Why grief needs space, presence, and support instead of being rushed away
  • What anxiety and depression can reveal about unfelt emotions
  • How emotional repression can impact the body, relationships, and nervous system
  • What it looks like to let emotions move through you instead of storing them inside
  • Why so many of us were never taught how to process emotions in a healthy way

Liz Burkholder is the founder of Go Within Institute. She helps people heal through breathwork, subconscious work, nervous system regulation, and deep emotional processing. Her work supports clients, clinicians, and coaches in learning how to move through life with greater presence, connection, and self-trust.

505: How Small Changes Create Real Transformation | Eric Zimmer09 Apr 202600:49:57

In this episode, I'm joined by Eric Zimmer for a grounded and honest conversation about what real change actually looks like and why lasting transformation usually doesn't happen all at once. Eric shares his powerful recovery story, what finally helped him create lasting change, and why the smallest daily choices often matter more than the big breakthrough moments we tend to chase.

We talk about how to work with the parts of ourselves we'd rather avoid, what to do when we shut down, shrink, or feel overwhelmed, and why true growth comes from learning how to relate to ourselves differently over time. Eric also shares practical tools for changing the meaning we assign to situations, building wise habits, and taking small steps that add up to a meaningful life.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why overnight transformation is a myth, and what actually creates lasting change
  • How small, consistent actions can build real momentum over time
  • What it means to befriend the parts of yourself you want to avoid
  • How awareness helps you catch patterns like shutting down, shrinking, or going blank in real time
  • Practical ways to regulate your nervous system and stay connected to yourself in difficult moments
  • Why having a simple phrase prepared can help when emotions take over
  • How to rethink overwhelm and shift out of the feeling that life is happening to you

504: When a Physicist Met God: Seeing Reality Through the Heart | Dr. David Clements02 Apr 202601:08:28

In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. David Clements for a deep, mind-expanding conversation about consciousness, intuition, and what happens when we learn to perceive life through the heart, not just the mind. David has an extraordinary background, with advanced degrees in mathematics and theoretical physics (including work in string theory), and he shares the awakening that shifted everything for him.

We talk about remote viewing, out-of-body experiences, and why David believes human beings have far more perceptual capacity than most of us have been taught to access. We also explore his perspective on the sacred heart, the "infinity point gateway," and what he calls Infinite Source Intelligence as a direct inner connection available to all of us.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • How David's journey moved from left-brain physics into a lived experience of consciousness and energetic perception
  • What remote viewing is, how it works, and why his first experience changed his entire worldview
  • Why I believe children naturally have access to expanded perception, and how we often "train" it out of ourselves as we grow up
  • The difference between mind-centered living and heart-centered intelligence, and why the heart is a unifying, harmonizing intelligence
  • Why so many people feel like their identity is dissolving right now
  • David's perspective on why painful things happen in the world, how free will fits in, and why he sees "love" as an intelligence, not a fluffy concept

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • What it really means to live in your Adult Chair
  • How chronic stress and emotional suppression can build over time and eventually show up in the body

In this episode, I'm joined by my dear friend Dr. Liz Burkholder, a holistic nurse practitioner and the founder of Go Within Institute. Liz opens up about her cancer diagnosis and shares the very conscious, guided approach she's taken, rooted in deep inner work, intuition, and mind-body healing.

We explore what Liz calls "the consciousness of cancer," how the body can hold repressed emotions, and why healing requires both practical support and emotional release. Liz also shares jaw-dropping updates from her imaging, including lesions disappearing and a primary lesion shrinking significantly, even without conventional treatment.

In this episode, you'll hear:

  • What it means to meet the "consciousness" of an illness, and why Liz sees cancer as information, not just pathology
  • Why trusting your intuition can be one of the most important factors in healing
  • The 10 common factors behind unexpected healing
  • The role of repressed emotions
  • How boundaries and nervous system support matter when other people's fear is loud

499: Why Willpower Fails: Emotional Eating Explained with Matty Lansdown26 Feb 202600:58:31

Today, I'm joined by scientist, nutritionist, and emotional eating and self-sabotage coach Matty Lansdown for a real conversation about health and weight that goes way deeper than food rules. Matty shares why most of us already know what to do, but still feel stuck, and how the real shift happens when you understand the patterns underneath your choices.

We talk about emotional eating, trauma and self-protection, dopamine loops, and the unsexy truth that sustainable change usually comes from building awareness first, then making small tweaks consistently, without triggering rebellion.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Why it's "not about calories or kale," it's mindset and behavior change
  • Two common roots behind emotional eating: trauma and dopamine-driven self-soothing
  • A simple awareness practice: track what you eat, where you eat, and what you feel
  • "One tweak a week" and why slow change is often the only change that sticks
  • How rebellion gets triggered by rigid plans, and how self-guided empowerment helps
  • Why naming the emotion can quiet a craving (Michelle shares her own "potato chips" moment)
  • Fermented foods, gut health, and how the microbiome can influence your body's set
  • Obesogens, plastics, and common chemicals that may disrupt metabolism and hormones

498: Dating Yourself: The Ultimate Self Worth Reset19 Feb 202600:55:01

Today, I'm joined by Sonia Flores, someone I've known and worked with for years, and after a team meeting where she dropped a phrase that stopped us all in our tracks, I knew we had to bring it to the podcast. The term is "Mantourage Dating," and it's a powerful way to date from self-worth, boundaries, and grounded confidence.

This conversation is about dating, but it's also about so much more. If you're not dating, don't skip this episode. What Sonia shares applies to long-term partnerships, marriages, and every relationship you have, because the real shift happens when you stop making it about them and start making it about you.

In this episode, we explore:

  • How "Mantourage Dating" works and why it helps you stay grounded
  • Why dating gets easier when you stop chasing outcomes and focus on your own experience
  • The mindset shift that changed everything for Sonia
  • How to date with clear standards, boundaries, and self-respect
  • Why having a list of what you want (places, experiences, energy) keeps you out of people-pleasing
  • How self-worth changes what you tolerate, what you attract, and what you choose
  • Why this concept applies even if you're already in a committed relationship

497: Michelle's Mom Joins the Podcast: A Surprise Mini-Session That Stops Negative Self-Talk12 Feb 202600:21:04

Today's episode is a true "sneak attack" mini-session I recorded on the spot because the shift happened so fast, I wanted you to hear it in real time.

At first, I introduced my guest "JoJo" as a code name. Then we reveal the big moment: "JoJo" is actually my mom, Nancy Brindisi, and this is her first-ever time on the podcast!

My mom is in that brave space of considering dating again after years, and the negative self-talk started spiraling. So I walked her through one simple practice that stopped the mental loop within minutes, and the calm that followed was unmistakable.

In this episode, I share:

  • Why negative self-talk often spikes when you're stepping into something new, especially dating again
  • How I work with "parts" as energetic parts work (working with the energy of the judging, doubting part)
  • A practical way to borrow supportive energy when you can't access your Adult Chair in the moment
  • How this practice can come through as words, images, or a felt sense, and why your way is the right way

Today, I'm joined by Emmy-winning journalist and menopause advocate Tamsen Fadal, whose own unexpected journey through perimenopause and menopause led her to create a global movement of education, support, and empowerment for women. After years of brain fog, exhaustion, misdiagnosis, and silence from the medical system, Tamsen began using her voice and platform to help women understand what is happening in their bodies and how to advocate for real care.

In this episode, we talk honestly about symptoms, hormones, relationships, sex, confidence, and why so many women feel blindsided by this transition. Tamsen brings clarity, humor, and compassion to a life stage that has been ignored for far too long, and she offers real guidance for women who want to feel informed, supported, and empowered.

In this episode, we explore:

  • The symptoms most women miss in early perimenopause
  • Why brain fog and sleep issues are among the most debilitating changes
  • The impact of hormonal shifts on mood, libido, skin, hair, and body composition
  • Misconceptions about estrogen, the WHI study, and hormone therapy

494: Shift From Victim to Empowered with One Simple Question22 Jan 202600:25:14

What does it really mean to live a soul aligned life, and why does it often feel so hard, even when I know it leads to more peace, joy, and freedom?

In this episode, I break down what a soul aligned life actually is (beyond spiritual buzzwords), why it can feel like everything is "falling apart" when you are actually waking up, and how to start consciously partnering with the part of you that is 99.99% Source instead of the 0.01% that is ego.

I share practical, grounded tools for navigating big life transitions, sitting with uncomfortable emotions without getting swallowed by them, and working with your triggers so they become portals to growth instead of proof that you are broken.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • What a soul aligned life really is
  • How to shift from "life happens to me" to "life happens for me"
  • How challenges and transitions can deepen your alignment
  • Simple practices to sit with emotions and use presence to calm anxiety
  • How your outer life mirrors your beliefs and how trigger work realigns you

In this episode, I'm joined by Elizabeth April, author of Your Anxiety Is Giving Me Anxiety. We explore a powerful reframe of anxiety, not as something to fix or eliminate, but as an intelligent signal from the nervous system pointing toward healing and deeper self-awareness.

Elizabeth shares her framework for identifying whether anxiety is rooted in the past, present, or future, why high-functioning tendencies often come from overstimulation, and how her Renew Technique helps move out of survival mode and into lasting nervous system regulation, trust, and conscious awareness aligned with living from your Adult Chair.

  • Why anxiety can feel contagious and how we absorb the emotional states of others

  • How to identify whether your anxiety is driven by past experiences, present overwhelm, or future fear

492: Human Design Made Simple with Emma Dunwoody08 Jan 202600:49:18

In this episode, I'm joined by behavioral coach and human design expert Emma Dunwoody, author of Human Design Made Simple. Emma and I explore what human design really is (beyond the "woo"), how it maps your unique energetic blueprint and why understanding your type can feel like a deep exhale of self-permission.

This conversation is both practical and inspiring. We talk about why so many of us are exhausted and burned out, how women's energy cycles differ from the 24-hour "hustle" model, and how human design can guide the way you work, parent and build relationships. Emma shares powerful stories from her own life and business, and I share what I discovered in my own chart. Together, we explore how human design can help you shift out of shame and "shoulds" and move into a more aligned, authentic way of living, very much in sync with what it means to live from your Adult Chair.

In this episode, you'll hear:

  • What human design is and how it combines ancient wisdom and modern science into an "energetic blueprint"

  • A simple breakdown of the 5 human design types and what each is here to do

  • Why so many Generators and Manifesting Generators end up burned out

  • How women's ~28-day energetic cycle clashes with the push-to-produce 24/7 model

  • How understanding design can transform your relationships and parenting

  • What I learned about my own chart and why it felt so validating

491: A New Year Requires a New You01 Jan 202600:24:01

As we step into 2026, I've been reflecting on why so many New Year resolutions fall apart and why real change can feel so elusive, even when we want it deeply. After a year of shedding old patterns and facing familiar triggers, many of us are ready for something that truly feels different.

I explore lasting change is not about trying harder or setting better goals but about creating an identity shift from the inside out. When who you are begins to change, your life naturally follows, and this year no longer has to repeat the last.

In this episode, I share:

  • Why New Year resolutions rarely stick and what actually works

  • How triggers point us toward the deeper work that creates real change

  • What it means to make an identity shift rather than a surface level goal

  • A simple four step process to help you embody the version of yourself you are becoming

  • How to lead yourself from your Adult Chair in everyday life

We talk about how tuning into the body can guide us back to our truth, how to break free from people-pleasing, and why learning to say no, without needing to explain, can be so life-changing. 489: Rewiring PTSD and Healing Trauma with Mike Zeller18 Dec 202500:52:14

Trigger Warning: This episode includes discussion of suicide, PTSD, and trauma. Please listen with care and step away if needed.

Today, I'm sitting down with someone I've known for years and whose story moved me deeply. Mike Zeller joins me for a powerful, raw, and eye opening conversation about trauma, healing, nervous system regulation, and the life changing breakthroughs that helped save his wife, his marriage, and his family.

Mike opens up about the traumatic season that began when his daughter was born. His wife, a three time suicide survivor with complex childhood trauma, spiraled into severe PTSD and depression triggered by pregnancy and early motherhood. For nearly two years, Mike lived in constant fight or flight trying to support her while feeling completely lost about how to help.

This episode takes you inside their journey, the tools that finally created real change, and the multimodal healing approach Mike now uses to support others through trauma, depression, and burnout.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Mike and his wife's powerful story and what was really happening beneath the surface

  • How trauma hijacks the nervous system and why traditional tools weren't enough

  • What Mike learned about somatic therapy, PTSD, and the subconscious mind

  • How NAD therapy works and why so many people are deficient without realizing it

  • The role psychedelics played in opening the nervous system for deep healing

Today, I'm diving into a topic that has touched so many of you and continues to show up in my own life in the most surprising, beautiful ways. We're exploring the signs, synchronicities, and gentle nudges from the universe that remind us we're never walking this path alone. From repeating numbers to feathers, birds, coins, and even unexpected phrases from strangers, signs are everywhere when we slow down enough to notice them.

Whether you've been seeing 11:11 on the clock, finding pennies in random places, or simply sensing that something bigger is guiding you, this episode will help you understand how your angels, guides, and loved ones communicate with you and how to trust the messages already showing up around you.

In this episode, I share:

  • How to recognize the signs that your angels and guides are sending you

  • Why nothing in your life is random and why coincidences don't really exist

  • What the "illuminated path" is and how to know your very next step

  • How to ask for your own personal, specific sign (and what happens when you do!)

485: How to Listen to Your Heart20 Nov 202500:20:56

Today, I dive into one of my favorite topics and one of the most powerful tools we have for navigating life, parenting, relationships, and our inner world. I am talking about the wisdom of the heart. 483: How to Stop Seeking Approval from Others06 Nov 202500:17:30

If you've ever caught yourself wondering, "Am I good enough? Lovable enough? Worthy enough?"... this episode is for you.

Today, I'm diving into the powerful difference between external and internal validation, and how learning to validate yourself is the key to breaking free from codependency, people-pleasing, and enmeshment.

When we rely on others to tell us who we are, we lose touch with our true selves. But when we start building that validation from within, everything changes: our confidence, our sense of worth, and the way we move through the world.

In this episode, I share:

  • How codependency develops when we seek our worth outside of ourselves

  • Simple ways to practice self-validation every day

  • Why internal validation becomes even more essential as we age

  • How celebrating your small wins rewires your brain and boosts self-worth

This episode is all about bringing it home. Finding your value from within and learning to celebrate the beautifully unique human you already are.
