Have you ever felt like something that once fit… no longer does?

Like you’ve grown, your vision has expanded, and you know you can’t keep doing things the same way—even if they were good?

That’s exactly what this episode is about.

After much reflection, I’m sharing a personal update and closing this chapter of the Academic Revolution Podcast.

This podcast has been about helping academic physicians build meaningful, successful careers without sacrificing their personal lives—and that mission hasn’t changed.

But over time, I’ve felt increasingly led to integrate faith and medicine more intentionally into these conversations. Because many of the challenges we face in medicine aren’t just strategic… they’re deeper—touching identity, purpose, and what truly sustains us.

And there’s very little space in medicine to explore that in a meaningful, grounded way.

So rather than splitting these conversations across different spaces, I’m going all in on my other podcast:

👉 The Christian Physician Podcast

Over there, we’ll continue talking about leadership, career growth, and sustainable success, while also exploring how faith, purpose, and spiritual growth shape the way we practice medicine and care for our patients as whole persons.

If that resonates with you, I’d love for you to join me there.

And if it doesn’t—that’s okay too. I’m truly grateful you’ve been part of this journey.

Still Want Support in Your Academic Career?

I continue to work closely with academic physicians in a high-touch, high-support coaching environment focused on:

  • Career clarity and direction
  • Leadership development
  • Sustainable performance without burnout
  • Creating a career aligned with your life

82. How Academic Physicians Can Start the Week with Intention—Not Stress14 Aug 202500:22:31

Send us Fan Mail

Are you an academic physician who starts Monday with big plans—only to end Friday wondering where the time went? If your week keeps running you instead of the other way around, it’s time for a simple reset strategy that actually works.

In this episode of The Academic Revolution Podcast, I’m showing you how to start your week with intention—so you can lead it instead of just surviving it.

You’ll discover the 4-step reset strategy I teach my coaching clients to shift from reaction mode to purposeful progress:

  1. Make a clear plan – Block time for professional goals, personal priorities, and non-negotiable boundaries.
  2. Preview your week – Anticipate challenges so nothing blindsides you.
  3. Set your weekly intention – Anchor your energy on what excites you and visualize your Friday wins.
  4. Identify cautions & triggers – Stay ahead of distractions, emotional drama, and unexpected roadblocks.

When you lead your week with clarity, you protect your mental energy, move your most important projects forward, and finish Fridays feeling accomplished.

Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever asked yourself what determines your results?

It’s your decisions, your actions, and your behaviors.

But what drives those decisions and behaviors? The answer might shock you.

It’s FEAR!

Fear drives our decisions and behavior and has a direct impact on our careers, relationships, and personal success and fulfillment.

We take a look at what fear really is, and how it shows up in our daily decision-making and even in our personal life. The good news is that you can make changes. Fear doesn’t have to cripple you. We will discuss strategies how to overcome fear-based decision-making and overthinking.

This lesson is from Pillar #3 Mental Mastery from my unique Physician Success DNA Method.

36. Know Your Value(s)14 Feb 202300:18:32

Do You know Your Value (s)?

In this episode, you’ll discover the key difference and how it applies to the success of your academic career and life! This topic is straight from Pillar #2 Leadership Identify from my Physician Success DNA Method.

A lot of people talk about knowing your value these days. If you truly know your value and can communicate that to your organization then you can negotiate a higher salary or support.

To some extent that is true.

However, have you ever noticed that a salary increase (if and when it happens), academic promotion, or some practical support, never really gives you long-term joy and fulfillment? Soon enough whatever extra we might get is not enough.

This is where knowing your values comes in. Values are the real driver of more fulfillment and less stress in an academic career. Knowing your values is a North Star that defines everything else.

The real question is do you know YOUR values?

Take a listen to this episode as we unpack the difference

34. What Determines Your Level of Success24 Jan 202300:24:41

Send us Fan Mail

What determines your level of success in academic medicine? What does success look like in your professional and personal life?

Most of us determine our level of success by traditional academic achievements—the number of grants, publications, and presentations at meetings. Publish or perish, right?

Are these external factors REALLY the factors that determine YOUR success in life? What are the dangers of focusing on these external variables?

In this episode, you’ll discover the importance of APTITUDE to your academic and personal success and how operating from your strength zone will increase your productivity and decrease your level of stress.

Take a listen and don’t forget to share, subscribe and provide a review. I gratefully appreciate it.
