117. Finding Rest in a Busy Season: Embracing Sabbath, Silence, and the Savior04 Dec 202400:21:55

117. Finding Rest in a Busy Season: Embracing Sabbath, Silence, and the Savior

As the holiday season approaches, many of us feel the relentless pull of busyness and the pressure to stay connected online. But what if this year, we chose something different?

In this final episode before my sabbatical, I invite you to reflect on the beauty of rest—true rest that nourishes the soul.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to step away from the noise, embrace Sabbath rhythms, and draw closer to Jesus during this sacred time.

We’ll unpack scriptures that remind us of God’s gift of rest, like Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus invites the weary to find rest in Him, and Exodus 20:8-11, where God calls us to honor the Sabbath. I’ll also share practical tips on pulling back from social media, cultivating quiet moments with God, and living in alignment with His peace during this holiday season.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life or simply yearning for deeper intimacy with Jesus, this episode is for you. Let’s learn how to pause, breathe, and be still in the presence of the One who came to bring us peace.

Scriptures Mentioned:

  • Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
  • Exodus 20:8-11: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy...”
  • Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God...”
  • Isaiah 40:31: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength...”

Key Takeaways:

  1. Why Rest Matters: Rest is a spiritual discipline that renews us and reflects God’s heart for His people.
  2. The Role of Sabbath: How honoring the Sabbath allows us to set aside time to connect with God and recalibrate our hearts.
  3. Jesus as Our Rest: Practical ways to let go of burdens and find refreshment in Him.

Tune in for this heartfelt conversation, and may it inspire you to embrace the rest your soul truly needs this season.

Hey friends,

In this conversation, Jenny Randle and I discuss our experiences with the Holy Spirit and how He interacts with believers. We explore topics such as encountering the Holy Spirit, the role of the Holy Spirit in sanctification, and the gifts of the Spirit. We also emphasize the importance of understanding the Holy Spirit's role in our lives and how He empowers us to live out our faith. .

Jenny Randle went from a career in the heart of Hollywood to a faith-based author, national speaker, and chart-topping podcaster. Her search for meaning in the everyday moments of life has led her to write her newest book Flash Theology, where readers go deeper into biblical truth without drowning.

96. The Good Shepherd's Promise: Finding Rest in the Chaos of Motherhood08 May 202400:20:26

96. The Good Shepherd's Promise: Finding Rest in the Chaos of Motherhood

Hey friends! In honor of Mother's Day, I decided to have a little fun and bring on my oldest daughter, Grace for a quick interview. Listen to some of her sweet answers in this episode.

After our interview, we explore the sacred calling of motherhood and the profound ways in which God's care sustains and strengthens mothers through every season of life. Through candid conversations and heartfelt reflections, I encourage Christian mothers to find rest and comfort in the loving embrace of the Good Shepherd, who tenderly cares for His flock.

Through scriptural insights and personal anecdotes, we unpack the profound truth of Isaiah 40:11, reminding listeners of the shepherd's promise to tend His flock, gather the lambs in His arms, and gently lead those who are with young. As we reflect on the symbolism of the shepherd's care and provision,  there is a message of hope and encouragement to weary mothers, inviting them to find solace and renewal in the restorative love of God.

Whether you're navigating the challenges of motherhood, seeking encouragement in your faith journey, or simply longing for a moment of rest in the midst of life's chaos, this episode offers a beacon of hope and inspiration.

Until next time,

Sam

It emphasizes the importance of confidently approaching God and highlights three characteristics of God that give us the assurance to do so: He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and He is love.

I hope this conversation encourages you to come to God with boldness and surrender your hearts (and all the things going on inside of your heart) to Him.

Takeaways:

  • Our identity is found in God and the relationship we have with Him.
  • There may be barriers that prevent us from fully coming to God, but He encourages us to confidently approach Him.
  • God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and love, which gives us the assurance to come to Him.
  • Coming to God with boldness and surrendering our hearts to Him allows Him to do a good work in us.

91. From Prophecy to Promise: Unpacking Jesus' Fulfillment in Scripture20 Mar 202400:30:20

From Prophecy to Promise: Unpacking Jesus' Fulfillment in Scripture

Hey friend!

It's almost one of my favorite weeks of the year, Holy Week. It's the week where every single day we celebrate something significant happening that leads up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

In today's episode, we are digging into some scriptures from the Old Testament and some from the New testament that show us Jesus fulfilling prophecies perfectly. Why does any of this matter?

- Jesus fulfilling prophecies validates His identity as the promised Messiah. It confirms His divine nature and establishes His authority as the Son of God.

- The fulfillment of prophecies provides a bridge between the Old and New Testaments, showing the continuity of God's plan throughout history.

- Seeing prophecies fulfilled in Jesus reassures believers of God's faithfulness to His promises. It demonstrates that God can be trusted to fulfill His word, bringing comfort and confidence to those who follow Him.

- Understanding these prophecies helps individuals grasp the depth of God's plan for redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ.

If He did it before, He will do it again. His promises are true and He keeps His Word

Until next time,

Sam

90. Feeling Burnout? 3 Ways To Overcome Overwhelm & Strengthen Your Faith06 Mar 202400:22:33

Feeling Burnout? Overwhelmed? Tired? 3 Ways To Overcome Overwhelm & Strengthen Your Faith.

In today's episode, we break down some of the root cause of burnout and overwhelm while lining it up with scripture. I share some of my personal experiences with burnout and the cultural pressure to work harder. Emphasizing the importance of relying on God for strength and finding a better way to do life.

Friend, burnout is not your birthright.

You do not have to live a life that is stressful, too much, overwhelming, isolating. It's not who you were called to be. God has MUCH BETTER in store for you!

Takeaways

  • Burnout is a common experience, and it is important to recognize the signs and take steps to prevent it.
  • Cultural messages often promote the idea that working harder and doing more leads to success, but scripture reminds us to rely on God's strength.
  • Prioritizing spiritual boundaries and practices, seeking God's guidance, and finding rest in Him can help avoid burnout and deepen our relationship with the Lord.

114. 4 Keys to Confidently Share Biblical Truth in a Divided World31 Oct 202400:31:37

114.  4 Keys to Confidently Share Biblical Truth in a Divided World

In today’s episode, we tackle the challenge of confidently sharing biblical truth in a divided culture. Join us as we explore four strategies to help you speak God’s Word with conviction, clarity, and love. We dive deep into how getting rooted in scripture, cultivating a humble heart, communicating with compassion, and living a life that reflects faith can transform the way you share your beliefs.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Get in God’s Word Daily: Building a foundation in scripture equips you to share truth with authority and confidence. Devotionals and sermons are wonderful supplements, but direct, daily Bible reading is essential.
  2. Cultivate Humility and a Teachable Spirit: Confidence should be paired with humility. Approach conversations and scripture with a willingness to learn and admit when you don’t know all the answers.
  3. Communicate with Love and Compassion: Biblical truth is powerful, but speaking with empathy and understanding helps you connect meaningfully with others, inviting them to engage.
  4. Live Out Your Faith: Actions speak louder than words. When we live what we believe, it builds trust and shows others that we’re committed to living by the gospel.

Scripture References:

  • Psalm 119:105 – "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – "All scripture is breathed out by God..."
  • Proverbs 11:2 – "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom."
  • Ephesians 4:15 – "Speaking the truth in love..."
  • Romans 8:28 – "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..."

Join Us: Tune in to learn how these four strategies can empower you to share your faith confidently. Let’s grow together as women who boldly and lovingly proclaim God’s Word. Listen now and share with a friend! If you share on social, be sure to tag us! @abundantwomanco

83. Unlocking Your Unique Voice: Sharing Stories of Faith, Impact, and Transformation on Podcasts With Sabrina Hammond13 Dec 202300:35:12

Hey friends!

Do you know that you have a story to tell? That you can use the good, bad, and ugly things in life for His glory and for a bigger purpose?

Whether it is social media or a chat with a next door neighbor, authentic/real conversations are a powerful way to connect with each other, bring each other hope, and help to point women to Jesus.

This is a core value for us here at The Abundant Woman Collective and I am so excited for today’s conversation with Sabrina Hammond.

Sabrina Hammonds is passionate about the stories, testimonies, and transformations of others.  It’s no wonder why God called her into the business of helping women share their message.  Our stories and transformations were never meant just for ourselves.  They are gifts and treasures to be given away to those that need them.

Kingdom Connections Podcast & Media Agency was founded on a key principle that the Lord gave Sabrina: Quality vs Quantity.  It is all about creating strategic connections between clients and podcast hosts so Kingdom collaboration can happen.  It’s more than just interviews and numbers, it’s about bringing people together as one body and leveraging each other’s gifts for God’s glory.  As a result, women are coming together like never before and elevating each other, supporting one another, and utilizing each other’s strengths to serve others.

In today’s episode, we discuss the transformative power of personal stories and testimonies. I recount my own unexpected entry into podcasting and the impact stories can have on both the speakers and listeners. They emphasize the importance of overcoming self-doubt and sharing stories, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Sabrina then delves into the work she does to connect Christian women, particularly coaches, authors, and speakers, with podcast opportunities. She emphasizes the significance of understanding each individual's message and story holistically, not just focusing on their professional endeavors. Sabrina also shares how God has moved in her business and she is now sharing her own story.

Inside this episode, we also discuss practical ways to encourage others through social media or real-life interactions, emphasizing the need for vulnerability and authenticity. You won’t just hear our stories, but we are charging you to start sharing yours as well. Start sharing bits and pieces of your story in conversations or with friends.

Our stories and testimonies are not just for ourselves; they are meant to be shared to inspire and encourage others. Sabrina encourages women to seek help, connect with supportive communities, and embrace their unique gifts and stories as valuable contributions to the Kingdom.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about this episode. Be sure to share this online and tag us! And share your thoughts inside of the Facebook group!

Until next time,

Sam

Tune in to the episode as I share a season of my life where I wrestled with Jesus loving me without me having to earn it, we talk about 3 common reasons we sometimes don't truly believe this, and then we talk about our girl- the woman at the well.

Jesus radically shows up and pursues this woman! In this story, we talk about four things we get to recognize in this story and how it can even apply to us here today. The episode concludes with the Samaritan woman's transformation – running back to her community, leaving her water jar behind, and boldly sharing her testimony.

78. Feeling Overwhelmed in Faith & Life? 3 Tips to Prevent Burnout With Jen Rogers13 Nov 202300:36:45

Hey friends,

Meet Jen Rogers. Wife, mom, stepmom, Professional Life Coach, Pickleball lover, Habit Stacking Guru, and Chief Encourager. When she first remarried, she was shocked at how quickly her excitement for her starry-eyed love affair got sucked into a very dark black hole of chaos. Confusion reigned. On the brink of a failing marriage, she knew she had to choose: Jen's way or God's way. Now, Jen's on a mission to coach Stepmoms to choose God's way for their own stepfamilies so they can co-parent confidently, prevent Stepmom Burnout, and end generational re-divorce.

In this episode, Jen and Samantha dive deep into the challenges of overwhelm and how it can affect our identity and daily lives. Jen shares her personal experience of feeling like an alien in her own home, and Samantha relates her current overwhelm to issues of identity. Together, they explore the concept of Abide as an action word and discuss how understanding one's identity in God can be a powerful tool in overcoming overwhelm.

Jen shares lots of amazing encouragement and 3 practical steps in this episode. I think it is the perfect listen right before we enter into the holiday season, a notorious season of overwhelm. As we navigate the challenges of overwhelm, may we find strength in embracing grace, curiosity, and the overwhelming love of God.

Until next time,

Sam

72. Choosing Faith Over Fear, Worry, Or Anxiety11 Oct 202300:22:49

Hey friends!

Do you deal with fear?

Have you dealt with fear, worry or anxiety?

In the month of all things scary, this topic is one that is worth talking about again and again. But we are not just talking about halloween or the boo scared- we are also talking about actual fear. Panic. Late at night worrying, can’t sleep, anxiety, the never to do list, the afraid to do the thing because of the unknown, the medical diagnosis, the list goes on.

Fear manifests itself in so many different ways but today we are talking about ways to combat and overcome fear.

We are going to chat about 4 questions to ask ourselves when fear or worry or anxiety knocks on the front door and discuss four ways to beat fear every single time.

When you walk around with a spirit of fear you take space away from the victorious joy-filled life God intends for you.

A spirit of fear robs you of life; fear is a distraction and an all-consuming force. But with Christ, overcoming the spirit of fear is possible!

Join Sam for a 20 minute training and leave prepared for battle.

71. From Striving To Thriving, How Vivian Cumins Broke Free From Perfectionism04 Oct 202300:35:07

Hey friends,

In this episode of the Abundant Woman Collective Podcast, Vivian Cummins shares her personal journey of battling perfectionism and striving for control. Vivian, a federal employee with over 24 years of civilian service, talks about how her need for perfection and control led to an unbalanced life filled with stress, burnout, depression, and anxiety.

In 2020, she rededicated her life to the Lord and vowed to relinquish control and submit to God's will.

However, in 2021, her life took a challenging turn when she was diagnosed with stage three melanoma. Despite the fear and difficulty of this season, Vivian claims it set her free from captivity and taught her to embrace imperfection, recognize unbalance, and trust God.

Today, Vivian not only shares her testimony with other busy women but also provides valuable lessons and helpful tips for actively seeking balance. She emphasizes the importance of recognizing when you're feeling unbalanced, being intentional about self-care, and relying on the power of Scripture and prayer to combat perfectionism.

Vivian's story serves as a powerful reminder that you're not alone in your struggles, and God is always there to provide guidance and healing. Embracing vulnerability and seeking His help can lead to a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Until Next Time,

Sam
