Week 2 of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry dives into the real cost of a rushed life. Hurry drains us physically, emotionally, and spiritually—it steals our joy, dries up our love, and drowns out God’s still, small voice. Scripture reminds us to slow down, to rest, and to trust that God’s plan for us includes peace, margin, and Sabbath (Ecclesiastes 4:6, Psalms 23, Mark 2:27).

We hurry because of fear—fear of missing out, falling behind, or not mattering. But Jesus calls us to lay down fear and live with faith: not the absence of doubt, but obedience in the middle of it. When we slow our pace and seek first the Kingdom (Matthew 6:33), we discover that God’s rest is exactly what our souls have been longing for.

The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry reminds us that a hurried life is not a Christlike life. Jesus calls us to lay down our obsession with stuff, time, and priorities that distract us, and instead find rest and joy in Him alone (Matthew 11:28–30). When we make Him greater, the things that once consumed us grow smaller in light of His presence.

True joy is not the same as fleeting happiness—it’s a fruit of the Spirit that comes from aligning our lives with God’s desires. At the end of the day, Jesus + nothing = everything, and everything – Jesus = nothing.

From Eden to the wilderness, the devil’s favorite tactic has always been the same: make you quietly question whether God is really good. But Jesus shows us a different way. While Adam and Eve gave in to doubt in paradise, Jesus stood firm in the wilderness. He didn’t rely on comfort, strength, or even visible results — He trusted the Word of God.

The truth is, the enemy doesn’t need you to rebel loudly. He just wants you to doubt subtly. Don’t fall for the half-truth. Know the real one.

The foundation of Christianity is not a set of rules or rituals. It is the resurrection of Jesus.

John 20 tells us the tomb was empty. Romans 8:11 reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. So why do we still feel empty sometimes?

We cannot fill a spiritual void with earthly things. Success, possessions, pleasure, even trying to be a better person will always fall short. The truth is, every one of us has a gap between us and God that we cannot cross on our own. But Jesus can.

He came to give us life to the fullest, and through His death and resurrection, He made the way. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just be willing to turn to Him.

Jesus already came all the way to meet you. Now is the moment to respond.

We examined the difference between sins of commission—things we do that we shouldn't (Romans 6:1)—and sins of omission—things we should do but don’t (James 4:17). Living within God’s will isn’t about following a checklist but about making wise choices: staying in a right relationship with Him (Matthew 6:33), seeking His Word (Psalm 1:1-2), and listening to godly counsel (Proverbs 11:14).

No matter where we are, God cares more about how we live than where we live. Let’s pursue wisdom and walk in His will together.
