Sharon Rose. " The Woman Behind The Headlines"
26 Oct 2026
01:32:14
Sharon Rose is a longtime broadcast journalist and familiar face to generations of Mainers. With nearly four decades in television news, including 30 years anchoring the morning news at NEWS CENTER Maine, she’s built a career around storytelling, connecting with people, and being a trusted voice in her community.
But Sharon’s story is also one of reinvention. In her 50s, she began challenging the notion that success has to follow a straight line, or that there’s an age when we’re supposed to stop dreaming bigger. That mindset led her to entrepreneurship and the travel industry, where she’s building a second career centered on helping others experience more of the world while creating new opportunities for themselves.
Passionate about personal growth, embracing change, and refusing to let age define what’s possible, Sharon believes some of life’s most exciting chapters are the ones we never saw coming.

Morgan & Rob Harper "Dirigo Ranch" "Dirigo Ranch Feed & Seed"
19 Oct 2026
01:24:51
Morgan and Rob Harper are building something special in Berwick, Maine. As the owners of Dirigo Ranch and Dirigo Ranch Feed & Seed, they’ve turned a passion for the country lifestyle into a growing family business rooted in hard work, self reliance, and a love for the land. Their journey started with a flock of laying hens and plenty to learn. Since then, they’ve grown their homestead into a family run ranch raising beef cattle, horses, and other livestock, working alongside their children and Morgan’s parents to build a lasting legacy. Inspired by Western-style ranching and their Maine roots, the Harpers chose the name Dirigo meaning “I lead,” Maine’s state motto as a reflection of the path they’re creating for their family. Through their Feed & Seed business, they’re also supporting the people who raise livestock, ride, hunt, and live the agricultural lifestyle. In this episode, we sit down with Morgan and Rob to talk about starting from scratch, learning through experience, growing a family business, and having the grit to pursue a different kind of life. Their story is a reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started—you just have to be willing to put in the work.
Keith Scott’s story is proof that sometimes the best way to deal with life’s hardest moments is to find a reason to laugh. Growing up socially awkward, facing bullying, and overcoming early physical challenges, Keith learned at a young age that humor could be more powerful than throwing a punch. After losing his father at just 10 years old, laughter became a way for his family to navigate grief and keep moving forward.
Keith’s journey into comedy started as a way to work through life’s challenges, following a suggestion from his therapist. With encouragement from a mentor and inspiration from Steve Martin’s MasterClass, he began developing his voice and learning the craft of performing. Since 2016, Keith has been putting in the work as a stand-up comedian, performing at different venues and sometimes taking on as many as four sets in a single night. That’s a lot of time on stage, plenty of opportunities to sharpen his craft, and no shortage of chances to turn life into material.
But for Keith, comedy is about more than getting a laugh. It’s about taking the hard stuff, finding perspective, and connecting with people through shared experiences. He knows that behind some of our funniest stories are moments that once hurt like hell. Today, he uses humor to remind people that it's okay to talk about what we've been through, that laughter and healing can go hand in hand, and that sometimes our toughest experiences become the stories that bring us together.
Devin Morrisette is back on the 207 Collective Podcast almost two years after we first sat down. The last time Devin was on the show, he was working full-time while grinding away building Fix A View on the side. Window cleaning, gutters, solar panels whatever the customer needed, Devin was willing to get after it. Fast forward two years and he’s taken the leap. Fix A View is now his full-time gig. No shortcut, no overnight success just showing up, doing good work, communicating with people, and building it one customer at a time. And because apparently one business wasn’t enough, Devin has also started Light Your View, specializing in permanent outdoor lighting and taking the headache out of holiday lights hanging them, maintaining them, and taking them down when the season is over. We talk about what’s changed, what he’s learned, the reality of turning a side hustle into a full-time business, and why Devin believes that if you keep showing up and doing things the right way, eventually people notice.

Jen Sellick is the owner of Perfect Day Travel & Cruise Boutique, a boutique travel and lifestyle business based in Southern Maine. With a lifelong passion for travel- rooted in childhood road trips, cruises, and international adventures- Jen built her business from the ground up after one of the most difficult seasons of her life. Following the loss of her daughter to overdose, her husband's heart transplant, and the financial and emotional devastation that followed, she found herself needing not just a new career, but a new beginning. She made the leap into the travel industry with no prior experience and left her 9-to-5 behind in just 11 months.
Today, Jen specializes in crafting deeply personalized travel experiences- from multigenerational cruises to bucket-list international itineraries- with the kind of attention to detail that only comes from someone who genuinely cares about getting it right. Her supplier relationships, preferred partner access, and hands-on client approach set her apart in an industry increasingly dominated by algorithms and automation.
Beyond her travel clients, Jen mentors a growing team of professionals, helping others build flexible, purpose-driven businesses of their own. She is a passionate voice in the conversation about the future of the travel industry- particularly around what AI can and cannot replace- and believes that the best travel advisors aren't threatened by technology; they're made more valuable by it. Troy Fields is a lifelong Maine woodsman and waterman, and the owner of Traditions Guide Service. Raised in the era of wool hunting clothes and L.L.Bean boots, Troy grew up learning the woods and waters of Maine alongside his father — lessons that shaped both his skills and his “old school” code of doing things right the first time. From the Rangeley Lakes and Baxter State Park regions — where he fly fishes remote ponds for native brook trout — to battling stripers in the currents of the Saco River and bluefish on Saco Bay, Troy has spent decades building a life outdoors. He’s completed his own New England turkey slam, tagged a 907-pound bull moose in 2013, chased whitetails through southern Maine swamps, and followed the musical cry of his beagles trailing snowshoe hare through fresh snow. Duck hunting became a calling in his mid-20s. What started with small boats, jump shooting brooks, and homemade sea duck long lines made from bleach bottles has evolved into a refined, traditional operation. Since 2004, Troy has held both a Master Maine Guide License and a USCG 100-Ton Master Captain’s License. Today, his spreads feature handcrafted New England decoys, classic L.L.Bean cork rigs, and his retriever Quill aboard the Duckwater — ready to greet clients and go to work. Proudly blue collar, Troy understands the value of hard-earned money and hard-earned opportunity. His approach is simple: respect the tradition, respect the resource, and give every client an authentic Maine experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

Steve Becker began his career 23 years ago at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a crane mechanic, a trade that taught him precision, discipline, and the value of hard work. Fifteen years ago, what started as a simple hobby—cooking barbecue—quickly became a passion. Thirteen years ago, Steve took that passion a step further by building his own smoker, laying the foundation for what would become much more than just backyard cooking. Influenced early on by his Grandma Jo, Steve believes food has a unique power to bring people together. That belief still drives everything he does. For Steve, barbecue isn’t just about flavor—it’s about dedication, patience, and putting real heart into the craft. Most recently, Steve teamed up with fabricator Scott Brouillard to build a rat-rod–themed food truck from an old Penske truck—despite neither of them having ever set foot inside a food truck before. The entire build process is documented on the Flipping Customized YouTube channel, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving, and relentless work ethic. Steve Becker’s journey blends blue-collar grit, family tradition, and a deep passion for barbecue—proof that when skill and heart come together, something special is built.
