Arsenal Comeback, City Drop Points, Liverpool Beat Newcastle, and Rashford Keeps Scoring19 Feb 202301:11:48

Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle react to Match Round 24 of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

  • (1:00) Arsenal came from behind to beat Aston Villa 4-2. The win sends Arsenal back to the top of the table by 2 points and Jorginho scored the goal ahead goal which was enough to earn him Robbie Earle's Underappreciated Performer of the Week.
  • (12:47) Manchester City drop points and give up the lead at the top of the table, as they drew 1-1 to Nottingham Forest. Erling Haaland missed a sitter and it would come back to haunt City as they gave up a goal late. 
  • (19:19) Manchester United beat Leicester City 3-0 behind two Marcus Rashford goals as the striker keeps up his red hot form. With the win, United go just three points behind Manchester City for second place.
  • (32:15) Liverpool got a much needed win, beating Newcastle United 2-0 behind goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo. Nick Pope was shown a straight red card for a handball outside the box, and he will miss the EFL Cup final against Manchester United, as will backup goalkeeper Martin Dubravka who is cup tied. 
  • (37:59) Tottenham beat West Ham 2-0 to get back into top 4 in the Premier League. Hueng Min-Son came off the bench to score for Spurs. The loss keeps the Hammers in the bottom three in the prem, sitting on 18th place with 20 points.  Emerson Royal scored, and that was enough to earn him Robbie Mustoe's Underappreciated Performer of the Week.
  • (51:19) Chelsea continue to struggle under Graham Potter, losing to bottom of the table Southampton 1-0 at home. Chelsea still find themselves in tenth, and questions remain about Potter in charge. Southampton interim manager Ruben Selles got his first win in charge, as he looks to bring Southampton out of the relegation zone
  • (58:50) In maybe the most important game of the so far for the bottom of the table, Everton beat Leeds 1-0. The win sees Everton get out of the relegation zone and into 16th place, while Leeds remain in the bottom three in 19th.
  • (1:04:39) Another important match for the relegation threatened squads, Bournemouth beat Wolves 1-0 to also stay above the relegation zone
  • (1:06:52) Brighton took on Fulham in a matchup of teams fighting for European places. With Fulham edging out Brighton 1-0. Fulham find themselves in 6th place in the Premier League on 38 points.
  • (1:08:52) Brentford came from 1-0 down to grab a late equalizer to draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace, the Bees continue their impressive run in the league, currently sitting in 9th.

  • (10:41) Manchester City beat Aston Villa 3-1 at home to pull within 3 points of league leaders Arsenal. Robbie and Stephen also look ahead to the biggest game of the season when Man City head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal Wednesday 
  • (15:36) Manchester United kept up their hot form, beating Leeds United 2-0. Marcus Rashford scored again, as well as Alejandro Garnacho to bring United up to 3rd place
  • (21:30) Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp got a much needed win over rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby, winning 2-0. Liverpool are now in 9th place while Everton still sit in the relegation zone in 18th 
  • (29:46) Bournemouth spoil Eddie Howe's return to the Vitality Stadium, drawing with Newcastle 1-1
  • (36:08) Leicester City beat Tottenham 4-1 , to keep Spurs outside the top 4. The win was enough to earn Brendan Rodgers Robbie Earle's Underappreciated Performer of the week
  • (41:21) Chelsea continue their struggles, drawing with West Ham 1-1. The Blues took the lead through a Joao Felix opener but couldn't hold the lead, and find themselves in 10th place. West Ham remain just above the relegation zone in 16th place
  • (45:26) Southampton couldn't hold on to a crucial lead to Wolves, losing 2-1 even though Wolves were down to 10 men. Nathan Jones lost his job after the match for Southampton who still sit bottom of the league. The win for Wolves, however, earned Julen Lopetegui Stephen Warnock's Underappreciated Performer of the Week
  • (47:44) Brighton drew with Crystal Palace 1-1 in another game that was marked with VAR issues, but Brighton still sit impressively in 6th place in the league
  • (48:55) Another impressive win for Fulham, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0. Fulham are level on points with Brighton and sit 7th in the league

  • (23:20) Manchester United came back from a goal down to win the Manchester Derby, beating Man City 2-1. Bruno Fernandes scored a controversial goal as Marcus Rashford was offside but was deemed to not have interfered with the play, and then Rashford got the winner himself.  Aaron Wan-Bissaka also earned Robbie Earle's Underappreciated Performer of the Week.
  • (39:19) Brighton continued to impress, beating Liverpool 3-0 at home. Liverpool now find themselves 9th in the league table and Brighton sit 7th. Kaoru Mitoma also did enough to earn Robbie Mustoe's Underappreciated Performer of the Week.
  • (50:14) Newcastle took all three points late, beating Fulham 1-0 to send them back into 3rd in the Premier League table 
  • (53:43) Chelsea got back to winning, beating Crystal Palace 1-0 behind a Kai Havertz goal. Chelsea currently sit 10th in the table.

  • (13:53) Arsenal will be top of the table at  Christmas, as they ease past Wolves 2-0. Martin Odegaard scored both goals for the Gunners and they extend their lead atop the table to 5 points 
  • (24:23) Newcastle United faced off against Chelsea in perhaps the marquee match of the weekend, with the Magpies defeating the Blues 1-0 behind a Joe Willock goal. Newcastle now sit 3rd in the league standings, and it was Kieran Trippier who earns Robbie Mustoe's Underappreciated Performer of the Week
  • (39:22) Tottenham beat Leeds 4-3 in a 7 goal thriller in which Spurs came from behind 3 times in the match to win. Rodrigo Bentancur scored 2 goals including the winner 
  • (48:10) Manchester United took all three points at Craven Cottage, beating Fulham 2-1. Christian Eriksen scored his first goal for the club, and Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench and scored the winner in the 93rd minute

  • (31:27) Manchester City go to the King Power Stadium and beat Leicester City 1-0 behind a beautiful Kevin De Bruyne free kick. Leicester City fell back into 18th place and the relegation zone after the weekend results 
  • (35:12) Manchester United  beat West Ham 1-0 at Old Trafford to pick up their 7th win of the season. Marcus Rashford scored the lone goal, his 100th for the club
  • (50:27) Roberto De Zerbi gets his first win as Brighton manager, beating former manager Graham Potter and Chelsea 4-1 to bring the Seagulls up to eighth in the league. This was Potter's first game against Brighton since leaving to become Chelsea manager earlier this season
  • (57:11) Tottenham come back to beat Bournemouth 3-2 after falling behind 2-0. Rodrigo Bentancur grabbed the 92' minute winner for Spurs
  • (1:00:45) Newcastle United ease past Aston Villa 4-0 behind goals from Callum Wilson, Joelinton, and Miguel Almiron. Newcastle climed into 4th place after the win, and look a real threat to stay in the top 4 race all season
