In this episode we’re joined by gun fisho, Sam Colvin

Sam is a Perth born & bread fisherman and has fished all over WA’s 12889km of coastline. The pursuit of angry, hard fighting fish that started Sam’s fishing addiction in WA, has also taken him on some epic international fishing trips to places like Oman, Seychelles & New-Zealand.

Sam’s passion for fishing lead him into a career in the fishing industry, most recently with Austral Fisheries, who are Australia’s largest commercial wild caught fishing operation, where he works in Sales & Marketing. Austral is home to some of the world’s most premium seafood brands including Glacier51 Toothfish & Skull Island Prawns.

Robbie is best known for being the former Owner/Operator of “Perth Fishing Safaris”, who were the only land based fishing guides operating out of the southern half of WA at the time. 

Robbie & his team successfully guided hundreds of clients onto trophy fish such as Spanish Mackerel off the rocks at Quobba Station, Monster Mulloway from the Midwest beaches, as well as being early adopters of the drone fishing craze which saw clients travel from all over the country to come fishing with PFS for a high chance at catching Snapper while still having the sand between their toes.

Curt is the Marketing Manager at WA's own household lure company, Halco Tackle, and gets to see & fish plenty of different ares as part of his Job. He recently took out Champion Angler at the 2025 Abrolhos Islands Game Fishing Tournament, writes for Western Angler & is a regular speaker at The Perth Boat Show & 4WD Adventure Show every year.

Mick grew up chasing Barra up in Broome with his old man’s charter biz, then moved to Perth where he swapped Barra for Bream in the Swan River. He’s now a Marlin addict, keen spear-fisherman and last year’s  Champion Angler at the WA Open in Jurien Bay.
