This interview is from Father's Day Weekend 2022. We never intended for this episode to be released on our audio network as it was a live interview on YouTube but with our guest having such a great football season, we thought we’d release it today. Jason Candle is the coach of the University of Toledo football team and this year they won the Mid-American Conference Championship and defeated Liberty in the Boca Raton Bowl. We ran into Coach Candle back in June at the Fatherhood Festival at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He had brought his leadership council to help out with the event. The interview took place outside with a lot of other things going on around us but the insights are still good and I think you’ll get a sense as to one of the reasons Toledo football had the season that they did. Hugh Freeze is the head football coach at Liberty University. He has won an astounding 18 games in his first two years at Liberty. Prior to his time at Liberty University, he was the head coach at Ole Miss in the SEC. During his time at Ole Miss, they were the only team to beat Alabama in the regular season in both 2014 and 2015. His teams finished with a winning record in four of his five years. On Saturday, the greatest college football rivalry continues when #3 Michigan visits #2 Ohio State. In honor of the big game, we wanted to re-release an episode from 2017 that we did with Shemy Schembechler, the son of Hall of Fame Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler. He has a bunch of good stories to share, especially since he now lives in Columbus, Ohio. This was one of Jamy's first interviews but the insights and entertainment value still hold up today. Enjoy! Original show notes are below ... Glenn “Shemy” Schembechler serves as the President of GES Advisory Company. Shemy has spent the majority of his life and professional career in the football industry, growing up as the son of legendary coach Glenn E. “Bo” Schembechler. He has evaluated talent for such high-level programs as the University of Michigan, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears, the Washington Redskins, and the Seattle Seahawks. In addition to his father, Shemy has studied under accomplished coaches Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Marty Schottenheimer, and Joe Gibbs. They have all had an indelible impact on his career, and his ability to scout and recommend prospects. Shemy has been a part of many championship and playoff teams, and has been able to evaluate or recommend players that have gone on to Pro Bowl careers (Charles Woodson, Ian Gold and Tom Brady, respectively), as well as inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, and Derrick Thomas, respectively). Yesterday (November 16th) was Jaylen Bechler's 13th birthday. He is the son of Jamy & Tabitha Bechler. The Bechler's adopted Jamy at birth when they were living in the Chattanooga area back in 2009. Jamy Bechler appeared on the "Everyday Leaders" show hosted by Melahni Ake in the Spring of 2021. This was a live show and is one of Jamy's favorites that he has appeared on. Melahni and Jamy covered a wide array of topics. As a side note, within 15 minutes of the live show ending, Jamy was contacted by a teacher from a public school in South Central L.A. asking him to speak with her students. He had mentioned that he sometimes speaks to groups for free if there is a bigger mission and they don't have the resources. Jamy eventually was able to make time for the students before the end of their school year. We hope you enjoy the conversation and some of the insights.

He has won an astounding 18 games in his first two years at Liberty. Prior to his time at Liberty University, he was the head coach at Ole Miss in the SEC. During his time at Ole Miss, they were the only team to beat Alabama in the regular season in both 2014 and 2015. His teams finished with a winning record in four of his five years.
