Mizer & Moore, Lili Haydn, Ben Bromfield: The Musical Episode
mercredi 7 juin 2023 • Durée 59:59
Our dublab DJs have united for a nonstop marathon of mixes and shows to carry you through the end of our 2023 membership drive.
This is a special episode by Chandler Poling, who hosts Studio Soundtracks every 1st Tuesday of the month, 9-10am.
This very special episode of Studio Soundtracks sashays its way into the theme of musicals – specially musicals in television. For years, TV programs often surprise their audiences by having an episode explore the musical genre and have their characters belt out tunes and change up the pace. From Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Scrubs, this has been a trick of the trade, however this show is dedicated to the challenge of embedding musical numbers into the reality of their shows. THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL explores a 60’s Industrial Musical inside the 5th episode of the final season – written by Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore – and GINNY & GEORGIA had the task of writing a full high school musical – written by Lili Haydn and Ben Bromfield – set within the drama of the show.
