| How To Batch Your Content Creation | 25 May 2024 | 00:32:17 | |
I had an investor on my mailing list for 3 years before he ever reached out for business. That long? Yes, it was. For me, what's intriguing is not the number of years he took him to try out our staging services. What is, is that if there had been radio silence from me through those years, that's a prospective client (or even more) lost. However, since daily creating content for 3 years is something I did not do nor will recommend, batch content creation is the way to staying in the face of your ideal clients consistently and without getting burnt out. In today's workshop style episode, we'll explore how batching can help you maximize your limited marketing time, keep your name top of mind, and nurture relationships with prospective clients. From here, you can start to create a content library for keeping in touch where you need it most.

While talking about the simple marketing essentials for your home staging business, I had mentioned "keeping in touch" as one of the core steps to attracting new clients. However, if you are a bit like me, the first few steps of this queasy but productive journey can be impeded by limiting beliefs, the fear of judgment, or the desire to not come across as desperate. How then do you stay on top of the mind of the people you want to serve while maintaining professionalism, authenticity and consistency? You'll find out in this episode.

I've been taken down by the flu, so today we're running one of our Most Valuable Podcasts Enjoy!
I don't think I have ever said this, but this is one masterclass session that you want to grab a journal and pen for. As we prepare to tackle our marketing issues in the upcoming episodes, it is my concern to ensure that all the wheels of your business are properly functioning. Why? Because a staging business or any other is not worth running on a broken process, defunct pricing model or a debt you cannot get a hang of. Drawing from real numbers in my own business, we'll dive into the concept of growth (strategic and non strategic) and capacity. We then go in depth into time tracking, the cost of executing the different aspects of your staging business, and how that influences other decisions like pricing, hiring a new team member, or even working with a new real estate agent. While there are several factors beyond your control in the staging business, it is essential to master those that you can for optimal growth.. Enjoy!

| How to Handle Negative Business Comparison | 17 Aug 2024 | 00:27:45 | |
On the beats of the soundtrack added by the lawn mower next door, we're tackling a biggie: comparison. Right! A sneaky little monster that can mess with our minds and our business growth. I've seen it come up in my coaching sessions and even experienced it myself—just this morning at the gym! Seeing someone do something different that I perceived as higher than mine made me doubt my own routine. But then I had to remind myself why I was doing what I did, while considering my own fitness journey. And here's the deal: we're all on different stages of our own journeys. In life and in running a staging business. To help you navigate comparison, I'm breaking down the four stages of competence and how they apply to your staging business. Rather than feel little, understanding this can help focus your attention on what time, energy and expertise it took them to get there, consequently extending grace to yourself for where you are and want to be. So, what do you do when comparison hits? Listen in to learn the strategies to navigate this downer and how to use it to propel your business forward. Remember, everyone's journey is unique, and it's all about progress, not perfection.

Welcome to the beginning of our exciting episodes for 2024! It's raining "goals" at this time of the year, everywhere. "How to set goals", "Things to keep in mind when setting your goals" etc. But that's not where it ends, right? In fact, setting goals is just the beginning. As a geeky neuroscientist, I attribute that to their understanding of the intricacies of the human brain and how it plays a pivotal role in setting and executing goals. Simply put, they are just the minute percentage of people who fully understand and maximize the brain-hacking secret sauce of success - which I'm here to spill the beans on today! Have you just newly set goals for your staging business this year? Grab your favorite beverage, get comfortable, and join me on this brain-blowing adventure into the world of goal achievement. | How To Make Your Business Systems More Memorable | 10 Aug 2024 | 00:19:06
If there's one thing that stuck with me from my undergrad classes, it is the application of FORMULAs. They are the cheat code for solving equations and they also function for simplifying business operations. I know my team is not more magical than anybody else's team, but we have, over the years, done a pretty good job of implementing systems. How? By making the process as seamless as possible with memorable formulas, acronyms, and quirky nicknames. This unconventional method has not just helped us stay organized, but it has significantly cut down on decision fatigue, making up for when our brains are tired and consequently boosting our efficiency. I have seen how useful a creative and memorable approach to streamlining business operations is. By applying this strategy, I hope you'll be able to say the same.

| How A Project Management Tool Is Amazing For Your Staging Business | 18 Nov 2023 | 00:26:04 | |
I have seen several business owners (not only in the staging industry) who are overwhelmed with the countless tasks and processes involved in running their businesses. But that is not only what lacking a system does to your business. For example, in mine, I made my first five-figure as a one-man team the month I started to implement a standard operating procedure. With a team, you have more to do. You have to work with multiple people on different projects with different end goals, but with the same steps. In that case, rather than be confused or always spend time figuring out what to do, establishing a workflow cadence for every process in your business is one way to stay on top of your games and be organized. I will be sharing what our workflow is like for several processes at Rethink Home Interiors, as well as how my chosen project management tool works for us. But remember - Whether you seek new ways to use your project management tool or are just about to choose one, finding the perfect tool is all about what works best for you and your specific needs.

As a business owner, the expression "you are the bottleneck of your business" should ring a bell. A good thing it can be. But if you are in the Accelerate phase where your time is needed to serve more clients, being a bottleneck can hinder your staging business progress. How then do you successfully shed this status? The solution lies in creating a training library. This library becomes a hub of knowledge, providing valuable training and tutorials for team members to learn about your business and its processes. In this episode, I walk you through how to create a team training library using Google Drive. | How To Use Google Calendar For Your Staging Business | 28 Oct 2023 | 00:18:59
Let's explore the world of systems and processes again with my secret weapon: Google Calendar! Cloud-based services, built-in encryption, secure storage, custom emails and flexible pricing plans tailored to one's business needs are not even the major benefits that my staging business enjoys in using Google Workspace. Perhaps you think you already know what this particular product is for: Scheduling. For a staging business owner, it goes beyond that. There is a lot of team collaboration and coordination for you. Having a system for everything and everyone, yet bringing them under an umbrella to see what appointments you have, where each team member is at, and what booking times are available for your clients, all at a glance requires a superpower that only Google Calendar offers. As staging business owners, we have processes and systems that frequently occur. One for me is recording this podcast. It was my design assistant's wedding day at the time of recording this episode. Whether you are in the Growth or Accelerate phase, there are varying ranges of tasks for you in your staging business, and only implementing a well-defined cadence is what can help you create a structured and productive workflow that drives growth and success. If you have been operating without boundaries (which I did for two years), a lack of organization and efficiency, a weekly cadence is here to save! Listen in to find out how I came about establishing a weekly cadence even before hiring a team, why you should, how you can start yours, and the resources you need (all found in Rethink You Accelerate). It could be a low level, but I am absolutely sure that as you strategically market and grow your business, you graduate into a high level experienced employee who takes on less technical roles. But the hierarchy is not one to be jumped. To transition into the hands off ownership status and lifestyle, understanding the evolution of leadership roles within your staging business is very important. Using the case study from my private coaching client who was feeling burnt out and stuck in the Technician role, I explain what the four levels of business ownership are, how to recognize when it's time to ascend to the next level, and strategies for transitioning to the highest leadership role. | 4 Ways To Create A Successful (and fun!) Home Staging Consultation | 06 May 2023 | 00:29:21
After more than a decade in business, one of my favorite things to hear is that our clients think our home staging consultation is fun! I love hearing this because I specifically designed our home staging consultation (we call our home staging consultation a Styling Evaluation) process to create fun and empowerment. And I did this intentionally.
When I first started my home staging business, staging was still new in my area. Most people had no idea what staging was or what the process looked like. This was great because I could carve my own path and I quickly learned that I wanted my home staging consultation to be a feel-good process for my clients. I wrote about the childhood experience that informs how my team and I talk to our clients here and here.
The reason I place so much importance on having a great consultation is all about energy. So much of what we do involves putting positive energy and momentum into the world. If we don't leave our clients feeling positive, they will be less likely to be successful. Just a fact. They will resist implementing their staging. So I cannot stress enough how important it is to protect our seller's energy and keep as focused as possible on bringing joy into the staging process. So let's dive into 4 ways our team accomplishes this! WHAT YOU'LL LEARN FROM THIS EPISODE:

| What's A Lead Magnet? And 11 Ways To Use One To Grow An Amazing Home Staging Business | 15 Apr 2023 | 00:25:31 | |
08Having a lead magnet is an important part of your marketing strategy.
One of the unexpected surprises I had, when I was growing my staging business, is that I actually had to be the Chief Marketing Officer even ahead of being the Lead Stager in my business. And as you grow your business, the scale will be tipped for a period of time in the direction of spending way more time marketing than staging.
In the beginning, I really resented the amount of time I spent marketing because it never felt like there was a direct return on that time. I had no idea that clients don't start calling right away after a marketing encounter. But what I have learned is that there is typically a delay between our marketing efforts and getting new clients and that delay is totally normal in a business. Totally. Flipping. Normal.
That means you really need to embrace digital marketing because it takes time and consistency to nurture the seeds that turn into clients. Lucky for us, with the internet, we don't have to do all of the heavy lifting ourselves.
You can rely on one of my favorite digital marketing strategies–the Lead Magnet. It may not sound sexy, but listen in and it just might become your new favorite marketing buddy too!

| How To Change Course When Systems Aren't Working in Your Business | 01 Apr 2023 | 00:22:09 | |
Are the systems in your business not working the way you want them to? Systems in business are the equivalent of habits in life. If you think of systems in this way, they automatically begin to make more sense. The beautiful thing is you can tackle creating and maintaining systems the same way you would in creating and maintaining a habit—start with improving the smallest thing, repeat it over and over, get back on track quickly when you lapse. But inside a business, there's one more piece of the equation. In order to improve systems that aren't working, you need to create organizational habits and alignment. That's a little different skillset. This podcast episode will guide you through that process. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN FROM THIS EPISODE:
