They said Maharashtra cricketers cannot succeed while putting in the hard yards on Mumbai maidans. He did. They said Maharashtra batters couldn't score away from Nehru Stadium. He did. They said Maharashtra as a team can rarely deliver consistently. He was instrumental in shaping the golden generation of Maharashtra's Ranji Trophy team that fared consistently for a decade starting the mid-80s. Milind Gunjal proved virtually everyone wrong with his stellar batting at all the levels he got an opportunity at. Still, the only thing he couldn't change was to earn the India cap and end up as one of the top names on the long list of "Maharashtra's unfortunate cricketers to have not represented India" in international cricket. Opening match will take place on 5th October between defending champions England and New Zealand. Final will be played on 19th November. Arch Rivals India-pakistan match will be played on 15 th October. All three important matches are scheduled to be played in Ahemdabad’s Narendra Modi cricket stadium. Main matches will be played across 10 cities and 2 cities will host practice matches. Table tennis made its Olympic debut at the 1988 Seoul Games. Kamlesh Mehta, Sujay Ghorpade and Niyati Roy represented India in TT in Seoul. In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Kamlesh scripted a famous win over China’s Lu Lin. He then went to the 2004 Olympics in Athens as a coach of the team and in 2024, he is the General Secretary of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI).
