What if your home has a story?

What if the land you live on, the buildings you spend your time in, and even the objects inside them carry energetic imprints from what has happened there before?

That’s the world Heather Colterman explores through Earthly Owl, her home and land healing business.

Heather is an earth energy worker and intuitive empath who works with the unseen energetic layers of homes, land and other spaces. Through remote property readings, she connects with what she describes as the “spirit of place” and explores things like earth energies, energetic imprints from past events, geopathic stress, earthbound spirits and other influences that may be affecting a space. She then provides insights and healing strategies to help restore a greater sense of harmony.

Her own journey into this work began after moving with her husband to a rural homestead in the B.C. mountains. After experiencing unsettling energy within their home and surrounding property, Heather sought out energetic healing for the space. That experience became a major turning point and eventually led her into her own path of psychic development and home and land healing.

And let me tell you... this conversation goes some fascinating places.

Heather and I talk about what it’s like to have a presence online as a spiritual entrepreneur and the sometimes strange experience of putting this kind of work out into the world.

And then things get wonderfully weird. 😂

We talk about mermaids in the mountains, tree portals, and an energetic vortex that Heather discovered around a mirror at her mom’s house.

She also shares an incredible story about reading the energy of a home and picking up on the history of ballroom dancing that had taken place within its walls. It’s such a fascinating example of how the energy of a space can sometimes seem to hold echoes of what has happened there before.

A Magical Evening of Sound and Energy I attended a beautiful event at a wellness centre called Solidago. The space is incredible and the energy there is something special. The founder left a long career in education to build a spiritual wellness community and it shows in every detail of the space.

The evening included a powerful sound experience that went far beyond a typical sound bath. The throat singer who performed created a deeply moving experience and I’ll actually be featuring him on an upcoming episode of the podcast.

Upcoming Speaking Event I’ll be speaking at the Modern Medium Social in Pitt Meadows, BC on May 30th. I’m really excited to be part of this event and connect with the spiritual community there.

Energy Update for March January and February felt strange energetically, but March feels different. There is a rising energy right now. Many people are feeling activated, like a fire has been lit under them.

Another wave of spiritual awakening is happening. Some people are experiencing their first awakening, while others who woke up years ago are feeling another layer of activation. With awakening can come shock, anger, or frustration as people begin seeing corruption or dysfunction in systems they once trusted. That reaction is part of the process.

What I’m really loving right now is the activation energy. People are waking up, stepping into awareness, and feeling called to move.

Coming Soon: The Spirit Circle I’m currently developing something I’m incredibly excited about called the Spirit Circle. It will be a space where people can practice and develop their spiritual abilities together in a supportive environment. Collective Card Pull For this episode I pulled Shape Shifter from the Angels and Ancestors deck by Kyle Gray. This card may actually be becoming a “stalker card” for the Spirit Talk collective. Its message is about transformation, adaptability, and the ability to move between energetic states as you evolve.

Old Soul Wisdom We end the episode by talking about the idea of “old souls.”

The term can easily be misunderstood. Being an old soul doesn’t necessarily mean someone who has lived the most lifetimes. It really refers more to spiritual advancement and depth of experience.

Some souls develop wisdom gradually across many lives. Others may gain profound growth in fewer incarnations through intense or accelerated experiences. Neither path is better than the other. Every soul has its own journey.

Souls grow “old” through experience, not time.

Before incarnating, souls often plan experiences that will help them learn what they still need to learn. Sometimes a soul may want to take on an extremely difficult life to grow quickly. Guides may caution them, but ultimately the journey belongs to the soul.

In this episode of Spirit Talk, I share a personal story that happened on November 30th, well before the holidays, and the reflections that followed in the weeks after.

While attending my son’s lacrosse game, I ignored a clear gut feeling about a situation that didn’t feel safe. Moments later, I was bitten by a dog. The injury itself healed, but what stayed with me was the realization that I had noticed the risk and chose to override myself anyway.

This episode isn’t about blame, fear, or dramatizing the event. It’s about something many of us do without realizing it: pushing past our internal signals in order to be polite, avoid discomfort, or not make a scene.

I talk through what happened that night, how my body responded in the days afterward, and why the emotional processing that followed mattered more than the physical injury.

The second half of the episode looks at why intuition is so often dismissed or mislabeled as anxiety, overthinking, or fear and how social conditioning teaches many of us to second-guess what we already know.

I also introduce the idea of the “witch wound,” not as a diagnosis or belief system, but as a useful way to describe the learned habit of suppressing inner knowing in order to stay safe, agreeable, or accepted.

Not necessarily a literal nun, but an energy with the same vibration — devotion, service, and religious dedication. A spiritual anchor with a clear connection to God.

3. The Man Upstairs

The densest energy in the home.

At the top of the stairs, Brandee walked into a shockwave of:

• Anger

• Addiction

• Dark, unsettling thoughts

• A lingering emotional imprint

• The words “helter skelter” — not hers, but his

Standing between a bedroom, a closet, and an attic hatch, the energy hit an intense peak. This was the part of the house she couldn’t wait to leave.

🌿 The Contradictions

Some areas felt genuinely lovely:

• One spot near the fireplace held the imprint of a kind, good-hearted man who spent peaceful time in his favorite chair.

And the plants? They Thrived. Always a good sign and likely thanks to the caretaker’s lingering presence.

This home held both dark and light spirits, flipping dramatically from one room to the next.

😨 The Paranormal Moments

Even in under an hour, strange things happened:

• A sudden thump coming from under the stairs

• A bathroom lock incident that… did not feel normal

• Random door moments throughout the home

These weren’t imagined. They happened to everyone present.

📜 The House’s History

Meet Charlotte “Lottie” Northcote Kraemer, born in England in 1855.

• Moved to Mission and settled into the house in 1908

• Lived in the home built by her son

• Ran a small maternity hospital out of the house

• Handled nursing, cooking, cleaning, and laundry

• Known for her good will, work ethic, and sense of humour

Everything about her matches the caretaker energy Brandee felt.

Today I have an incredible guest.  Sarah joins me to talk about energy healing.  Sarah was someone who didn't trust her own experiences more than the teachings of her church.  She had the calling of being a healer and tried to answer that call through massage therapy. That had gotten her sick.  Something still wasn't quite clicking for Sarah. 

One day, she decided to take up genealogy as a project (something that her church accepted).  What she didnt know at the time, was this new hobby would be how Spirit finally connected with her and really get through.  Sarah started studying energy and meditation and was walking down a path that ultimately led her away from her church.  She began to practice energy healing.  Over a few years of working on people's energy, she was healed herself.  Sarah's chronic illness was gone!  All the while, she was strengthening her intuitive abilities.  Seeing colours, hearing spirit, seeing energy blocks, and helping people while not absorbing other's ailments was all something Sarah found herself doing.

GHOSTS!  In this part 2 episode, I continue talking ghosts.  Full disclosure the podcast ghost was back.  I had a slight interruption in recording though it was quite easy to fix.  It is no coincidence that the subject matter is ghosts - they like to mess around at times.  I do not have ghosts in my home though they do know that I can tune in and sometimes follow me around.  It makes sense to me that just talking about ghosts sort of called them in.  I have never experienced the type of recording disruption before until the topic was ghosts.  

In this episode, I answer a few quick questions.  A listener story is shared.  Deeper philosophy around ghosts is explained.  Over the last two years I have been learning about ghosts as it has been a topic of interest for me.  Spirit has provided insight in various ways.

Spring is in the air!  I am here for it. 

Ever been tested by the Universe?  It could be a sign that you need to get more specific and clear about your aspirations and goals.  Maybe the energy behind what you want has been lack luster and the Universe is asking, "do you really want this?"  So if you are getting tested, you might be very close to what you want, its just your sign to get more specific.  Dare to DREAM is what spirit is telling us this Spring.  Ya'll might be pleasantly surprise by what the Universe provides when you really put your heart behind your wishes.  

Winter is over but here's the thing...not enough of us got the rest and recuperation we needed.  Spirit tells us we need to work on calming our nervous systems this spring.  Especially since there is a LOT of energy coming down the pipe.  Be mindful of what you are consuming and taking in - is it only adding to energetic overload?  

For this spring I also channel through:  

1. A crystal.
2. An animal messanger.
3. Three colours. 
4. An activity.

Have you ever seen people roll their eyes when "woo-woo" is mentioned?  I have.  To me the word is fun, mystical, light hearted, and powerful.  But did you know, that is a far cry from the dictionary definition?  

In this episode, I break down the modern take on woo-woo.  Are "they" (whoever they are...that's a whole other topic) dividing us spiritually speaking when they devalue words like woo-woo?  Probably.
