#18: The 50% Rule: Diet & Nutrition with Sally Fallon Morell13 Jun 202300:38:52

One of the most confusing and polarizing topics is “diet.”

What we are supposed to eat has as many different extreme views as politics and religion. I’ve been on a mission to understand from a viewpoint of simple cause and effect, trying to overcome the prejudice and indoctrination of standard societal norms.

My agenda is solely focused on feeding my children the best possible diet to succeed. What will make them healthy, strong and successful? My drive comes from spending so much time in pediatric oncology with my son. From seeing the ravages of chronic disease working in an ambulance. I’m after solutions that help and work, without unquestioned dogma.

Sally Fallon Morell, the best-selling author of "Nourishing Traditions," is a key figure in sharing the work of Weston A. Price. Who is one of the most important health experts in history.

Dr. Price was more than just a dentist. Starting in the 1930s, he traveled the world, not to fix teeth but to learn about the eating habits of different groups of people. What he found can teach us a lot about how to stay healthy today.

Born in Canada in 1870, Price led research at a major dental organization now called the American Dental Association. He was interested in how food, dental health, and health are all connected. Because of this, he wrote "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration." This book shares his journey around the world, exploring what people eat and how it affects their health.

Dr. Price went to many places, from the mountains in Switzerland to Eskimo communities in Northern Canada, tribal groups in Africa, native tribes in North America, and more. Even though these groups were very different, they all had one thing in common: vigours health and strong teeth. Dr. Price noticed that a big reason for this was their food, which was full of good stuff like seafood, dairy, meat, veggies, and grains.

But Dr. Price also saw something troubling. When these groups started eating more Western-style foods like processed grains, sugar, and canned goods, their health got worse quickly.

This is an essential lesson for everyone who cares about our family's health. Dr. Price's research shows how important it is to eat foods that are full of nutrients. This is often forgotten because modern food is so easy and plentiful. Dr. Price's significant research has influenced many people who care about nutrition. It has even led to groups like the Weston A. Price Foundation, which encourages people to eat diets full of nutrients. Sally Fallon Morell started and is the president of the foundation. She wants to help people learn about and take control of their health.

Morell has also done a lot of work in this area, including her book "Nourishing Diets." This book goes into great detail about how traditional people lived and what they ate. Morell's research is beneficial for anyone who wants to use old wisdom to stay healthy today.

We invite you to listen to our podcast interview with Sally to learn more. In our candid conversation, she shares her wisdom on applying these traditional ways of nurturing health in the modern world. Her insights and practical advice can serve as a valuable guide in your journey toward optimal health.

#75 Using Keto to Climb Mt Everest | Deuterium-Lowering Diet and Glyphosate Connection | Dr. Seneff08 Apr 202400:47:56

Boost Performance with Low Deuterium Foods | Deuterium-Lowering Diet | Health Optimization Dr. Stephanie Seneff and Dr. Laszlo Boros collaborated on a study exploring the effects of deuterium in a ketogenic diet. Deuterium, a heavy form of hydrogen, can disrupt mitochondrial function and lead to various health issues. The study focused on extreme endurance activities, such as climbing Mount Everest, and found that a deuterium-lowering diet improved performance. The researchers also discussed the role of fats, peroxisomes, collagen, and gut microbes in deuterium regulation. They highlighted the importance of consuming low deuterium foods and the potential implications for cancer and free diving. Additionally, they discussed the impact of deuterium on depression and shared personal experiences with deuterium-lowering water. In this conversation, Stephanie Seneff discusses the impact of deuterium and glyphosate on health. The conversation covers topics such as water contamination and purification methods, the connection between deuterium and various health conditions, the relationship between glyphosate and deuterium, the pH of the gut and its impact on deuterium levels, the role of sulfur in the body and its deficiency caused by glyphosate, and the effect of glyphosate on collagen and sulfur. The conversation concludes with a summary of the main points discussed and gratitude for the opportunity to share knowledge. Takeaways Deuterium can disrupt mitochondrial function and lead to various health issues. A deuterium-lowering diet can improve performance in extreme endurance activities. Consuming low deuterium foods, such as animal-based fats, can help regulate deuterium levels. Deuterium-lowering water may have potential benefits for depression and overall health. Water contamination is a significant issue, and it is important to purify water to remove harmful substances. Deuterium depletion may play a role in the effectiveness of ketogenic and carnivore diets. Glyphosate disrupts the body's ability to manage deuterium and can lead to various health problems. The pH of the gut is affected by glyphosate and can impact the production of short-chain fatty acids and the health of the gut microbiome. Sulfur deficiency, caused by glyphosate, can lead to sensitivity to sulfur-containing foods. Glyphosate disrupts collagen and impairs its ability to trap deuterium, leading to deuterium accumulation in the body. Glyphosate also disrupts enzymes involved in sulfate metabolism, leading to sulfate deficiency. Stephanie Seneff's book 'Toxic Legacy' provides more in-depth information on the impact of glyphosate on health.

#16: A Visit with Will Harris of White Oak Pastures28 Apr 202300:20:16

I’ve been aware of White Oak Pastures for a while. They are a farming outfit out of Bluffton, Georgia. I didn’t pay a lot of attention at first, as we aren’t in a position to work with them directly at Me & McGee Market. But after I recently listened to a Herd Quitter podcast interviewing the owner, Will Harris, I became blown away.

As I dug in, the principles that can be applied elsewhere stood out. Being from a small town in Arkansas, I witnessed the impact of the primary industry at the time, The Pickle Plant, leaving and the hardships associated with that. Will Harris has found an early niche that is becoming more and more popular (and for a good reason).

Pastured meats are a superior health food by a vast margin. What makes me beyond impressed, is how the group has used a method of farming that improves the environment in a way to build the local economy.

#08: Sourcing From Regenerative Farms: Adam Hiner22 Feb 202300:21:52

I recently had the opportunity to interview Adam Hiner, the owner of Pacha, a company that specializes in making buckwheat bread using regenerative agriculture practices.

At Pacha, they believe in using a rotational crop system to protect the health of the soil and create more sustainable farming practices. As a cover crop, it can improve soil health and fertility, suppress weeds, provide habitat for pollinators, control erosion, cycle nutrients, and sequester carbon in the soil. This approach is key to their mission of creating a better product than what is currently available on the market.

Their sprouted buckwheat flour bread is packed with nutrients and flavor, while many other gluten-free options are loaded with binders, gums, and fillers.

Pacha's bread is also organic, non-GMO, and free of the top eight allergens, including grains, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, wheat, and peanuts. It is sprouted, fermented, and easy to digest.

Adam believes there is a great need to bring chefs and farmers together to create a more sustainable food system. However, they face challenges with time constraints and a lack of distribution. This is an opportunity we at Me & McGee Market are trying to solve.

They also avoid seed oils in their products and believe that animals are necessary for healthy farms.

Pacha is committed to using regenerative agriculture practices and creating a sustainable food system. They believe that consumers have the power to drive demand for more sustainable food products by choosing to buy from companies that prioritize regenerative agriculture and sustainable farming practices. All of Pacha's bread is baked fresh at their bakery in sunny San Diego, California.

#158 The Deuterium Experts: How Light, Water & Mitochondria Shape Cancer | Gábor Somlyai17 Apr 202500:58:30

In this episode, Gábor Somlyai — a leading voice in deuterium biology and author on metabolic water — joins Petra and Logan for a multi-dimensional exploration of cancer through the lens of energy, through both light and water. The conversation moves beyond conventional frameworks to investigate how deuterium, mitochondrial function, and the structure of water inside the body influence cellular health and disease expression.

A key focus is the role of deuterium levels in the body: how this heavier isotope of hydrogen impacts mitochondrial efficiency, and why elevated levels may correlate with cancer and other chronic conditions. Gábor outlines clinical approaches to measuring deuterium in breath, saliva, and body fluids, and explains how lowering these levels through deuterium-depleted water and lifestyle strategies may support cellular repair and systemic coherence.

Together, they reveal how cancer may emerge not from a single cause, but from a breakdown in the body’s energetic and environmental coherence — shaped by hydration, circadian rhythm, mitochondrial function, and the often-overlooked emotional landscape.
