Episode 125: Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass or I Don't Make The Rules, Just The Lies28 Feb 202601:26:23

The Super Bowl may be long past but Cori picked an episode with a football title that actually had little to do about football. Surprisingly enough it was oddly relevant to this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show. Who knew? This one takes two seemingly unrelated stories and smashes them together while making sure to get a ton of sports celebrity appearances crammed in as well, for good measure. Go give it a listen, because hey what else are you doing?

We also discuss:

- New and creative ways to greet our fellow Rad Panthers on the street.

- New nicknames that no one asked for.

- Pleas to straight edgers and vegetarians.

- Revealing Comic Book Guy's actual name.

- Shocking viewing statistics.

- Super Bowl Halftime Show thoughts.

- New sponsorships.

- Scary guarantees.

- Happy Birthday greetings.

All of this and so much more!

Our Recommendations:

- Cori: The film Deliver Me from Nowhere, Killer Stories podcast, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Wuthering Heights the film

Cori was inspired by seeing the recent Lady Gaga performance at Coachella, so much so that she chose this episode featuring the Mother Monster herself. Give it a listen to see what Patrick and Bryan thought and to see if Cori can take of the rose colored glasses and look at this one critically. This is a fun one and we hope you join us for the ride.

The episode pretty much speaks for itself so listen up an enjoy!

Episode 25: Mountain of Madness or Nancy Drew Schmancy Who26 Sep 202001:33:13

Cori gets a little too close to some of the members of the Mickey Mouse Club, while giving us her take on what makes a children's book. Brenden feels alienated from some more "timely" references but shares his excitement over the upcoming release of the Playstation 5. Bryan tries his best to keep things on track but alas this train goes off the rails, once again. If you love the New Mickey Mouse Club (from the 90's) you'll love this episode! If you didn't like it, well listen anyways because you like The Simpsons, after all. If you don't like The Simpsons well that's ok listen to an entertaining and fun discussion! Episode 24: Lisa the Skeptic or Facts Schmacks05 Sep 202001:51:06

In this episode the Budnik/Scarupa family takes a look at the decades old battle of science vs. religion when they breakdown Lisa the Skeptic. Brenden takes one side in the discussion while Cori takes the other, and shares some experiences she has had with the spiritual world. Cailin sits this one out and it is too bad she did as there are many fantastic Moe lines in this one. Bryan leads the discussion on the status of certain outdated characters and if they should be retired or not. The family also mentions how this episode holds a mirror (and no not Cori's Romper Room Mirror) up to society and how it still holds true today. It may be 2020 but there is talk about Smashmouth and how the Heavenly Hills Mall looks oddly familiar. If you like what you hear tell a friend and don't forget to rate and subscribe. Thank you for the support!

Episode 23: Summer of 4 ft 223 Aug 202001:34:52

Along the way they discuss a little bit of controversy in regards to some comments by Simpsons voice actor Harry Shearer as well as their feeling on cancel culture. Brenden wants our Inbox to be filled with middle finger emojis and Cailin tells of a story of tricking a substitute teacher. Bryan and Cori talk about stories of previous vacations and Cori teaches us that if you are going to try to reinvent yourself make sure that it is no more than a week. Bryan switches up the format a bit to try to get everyone more involved in the conversation, so feel free to tell us how we did! Thank you for your support and for checking us out!

Episode 22: Mayored to the Mob or Bad Decisions and Peppermint Schnapps01 Aug 202001:42:16

In this episode the whole family is back together again after some brief time away. Just in time (well a week late) for Comic Con they bring you a great one from Season 10 guest starring Mark Hamill. We answer some forgotten listener emails and Bryan talks about Mark Hamill's feelings on being asked to be on The Simpsons as well as a recap of the Simpsons panel from Comic Con at Home. Cori gets emotional saying goodbye to Regis but balances it out with some hilarious talk about Weekend at Bernies. Listen in as Cailin and Brenden are alienated from some conversation as Bryan and Cori talk about references from way before they were born. Cailin also tries to justify her love for Moe, once again. We really enjoyed recording this one for you and we hope you enjoy listening to it! Thank you for the support!

Episode 21: Homer at the Bat10 Jul 202001:46:48

It's summertime and what goes well with summer? Baseball of course! In this episode the gang decides to dive into this baseball themed episode from Season 3, Homer at the Bat. Cailin sits this one out so no Useless Weather Update, how will we survive without a pollen count? Bryan brings us a ton of behind the scenes information as well as how the creators were able to land all of these baseball greats in this classic episode. See if you can count how many times Jose Cancesco is mentioned, hint it's a lot! Find out what unexpected, real life place, Homer Simpson landed in, years after the creation of this episode. Listen in as Cori brings us another therapy session, with a baseball theme. Brenden does some more research for us and as always keeps us on our toes. So throw back some Nerve Tonic, throw on your cleats and don't forget to shave those side burns while you join us for this super sized episode. Don't forget to subscribe, write us a review and if you like the show, please tell a friend. As always thank you for the support!

Episode 20: Flaming Moe's25 Jun 202001:43:17

Brenden sits this episode out but Cori tries to pinch hit in his absence.  The rest of the family reminisces about spending time at Moe's Tavern and drinking Flaming Moe's at Universal Studios. Cori calls her therapist again, at Cailin's request, and they discuss if Moe has any redeeming characteristics.  Bryan provides an depth look at the creation of the episode including how Aerosmith got involved. Episode 19: Homer's Phobia12 Jun 202001:44:15

PLEASE NOTE: This episode was recorded right as the reaction to the death of George Floyd was starting so yes his death was discussed, briefly, but not to the level that this subject deserves as it was all still unfolding at the time.

Episode 18: King Size Homer29 May 202001:29:34

In this episode the Budnik/Scarupa clan is back to tackle this episode from Season 7.  Cori continues to wonder about Gigi Hadid and uses this episode to deal with some childhood trauma  ("Hello therapist?").  Cailin tells an inadvertent Haiku during the Useless Weather Update and can't stop laughing at Cori.  Bryan tries to hold everything together and mentions how Simpsons creator Bill Oakley finally admits that the show can tell the future.  Brenden continues to question everything and is very excited to talk about the terrible idea of having children on a reality show.  So grab your best rag on a stick and set up the drinking bird because it is time for a new episode!

Episode 13: A Star is Burns07 Mar 202001:47:26

Our previous episodes have some great moments but this one has a football in the groin.  In this episode we welcome in our close family friend and fellow Simpsons aficionado Mr. Patrick Goatseay for a discussion about his pick from Season 6: A Star is Burns.  Patrick comes in very well prepared to discuss this controversial  episode, that Matt Groening refused to be associated with.  Bryan discusses if The Simpsons may have predicted the future again and talks about misheard lyrics.  Cori discusses a crooner that will be performing in front of gorillas as well as a celebrity that recently crashed a wedding.  Brenden leads us through our Act 4 discussion as we discuss what we are excited about this week.  Cailin brings us another Useless Weather Update with the all important pollen update and mentions a Con she is interested in going to, as long as she can figure out where it is.  Stick around as the group has a great time listing off the many quotable lines, a deep dive on the making of the episode as well as the connection to the under appreciated animated show, The Critic, starring Jon Lovitz.  We hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did recording it!  As always thank you for your support!

Episode 9: Brother from Another Series09 Jan 202001:20:59

The drudgery that is Season 1 is now OVER!!  In this episode the gang changes up the format and Cori chooses a doozey, Episode 16 from Season 8, A Brother from Another Series.  Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce do what they do best, playing brothers, not as the Cranes but this time as the Terwilligers, Sideshow Bob and Cecil.  Listen to our group as they breakdown yet another Sideshow Bob, diabolical scheme, but this time perhaps, Bob is innocent.  The gang discusses their experiences over the holidays and Brenden mentions how things are, not quite the same as they used to be.  Cori gives some shout outs to some celebrity listeners, while Cailin stays fairly quiet, but still reminds us that, "We're going to get sued!"  Bryan brings us another Tapped out update, to the delight of everyone else, and even London makes another brief appearance (even it if was off mic).  Listen in as Bryan and Cori toss up some salad and make some scrambled eggs through their discussion and feelings about Frasier and how it relates to this episode.  Cori upped the ante and did her research for this one.  She brought in some great behind the scenes tidbits and interesting facts about this episode from what many would call the heyday of The Simpsons.  You don't want to miss this one!  Thank you, as always, to our sponsor Anchor, and of course you for listening!

Episode 8: Krusty Gets Busted28 Dec 201901:32:56

In this episode the gang welcomes a very special guest,  the family's oldest child, London.  She's back from college and she makes her triumphant debut on the podcast.  We learn about London's feelings on The Simpsons and she brings her unique perspective to the episode Krusty Gets Busted.  We cut out the discussion about The Simpson's Tapped out in order to, FINALLY address some listener mail.  Be a fly on the wall as we draw the curtain back on some of the inner workings of this wacky family.  Hear the horror as they discuss the origins of Krusty the Clown and the joy of the addition of Kelsey Grammer to the show, and a surprise when it is revealed who was originally tapped to play Sideshow Bob.  This will be the last episode from Season 1 as we switch the format after this one.  This is a lengthy one, but we had a ton of fun recording, and hope that you'll have fun listening to it as well.  Thank you, as always, for listening!

Episode 114: The Front or The One With All the Alibies16 May 202502:05:35

Annoyed by boring and predictable Itchy & Scratchy episodes Bart and Lisa recruit Grandpa to help them get noticed for the scripts that they write. We also see Homer on a bit of a quest to earn his High School diploma once and for all. This one is a favorite but we admit that it doesn't hold up as well as we remembered. We also discuss the following:

- Problematic weeknight recordings

- Welcome new friends of the pod Glen Howerton and Bobby Lee

- Jelly beans and podcasting just don't mix

- Help us pick our next episode

- Imaginary Friends

- Stories of aliases

- The problem with decorative soaps

- Live fact checking while we record

- Cori's childhood experiences

- Escalator trauma

Meet the Budnik/Scarupa Family.  The Dad, Bryan, tells you where the idea for this podcast came from and how he first came to hear of this little show called The Simpsons way back in 1990.  The Mom, Cori, tells you about her love of nonsense and one ups Bryan as her interest goes all the way back to the Tracy Ulman Shorts.  The Son, Brenden (16 years old), or the "Crazy One" as he refers to himself, tells us how his love of The Simpsons goes back to The Simpsons Video Game on the PS2.  The Daughter, Cailin (12 years old), tells us that she is "kinda all over the place" and that she has been watching the show for as long as she can remember.

Listen as they set the tone and the structure for the podcast going forward.  We learn more about this family unit and they discuss their favorite characters.  Hear how they enthusiastically start this path towards viewing and analyzing The Simpson's episodes, starting with episode 1.  There are over 700 episodes to look at so they hope to be at this for a while!

Episode 112: Detroit Rock Diddily or The Children Would Say It's Cringe01 Apr 202501:32:05

On this episode we take you back to a long forgotten episode that the Simpson's team has been trying to remove from existence for it's questionable content and the involvement of Edward Furlong. It's hard to find but we found it and we're bringing it to you.

Edward Furlong comes to town and puts one over on the town of Springfield in an attempt for him to make it big again. Looking at the episode through a 2025 lens we can see why it only aired once (never in syndication) and is not available on Disney+. Give it a listen to hear how we feel about it.

We also discuss:

- Confusion around a new approach to watch the Simpsons on Disney+

- Patting ourselves on the back

- The many trials and tribulations of Edward Furlong

- Crazy stuff Cori's Grandma loved

- Does Mini Kiss have to play the actual Kiss

- Questionable jokes

- Awareness of verb usage
