Moose Meals and Mullets01 Jun 202200:44:49

Brady and Eric interview Sarah Kupec of Moose Meals while Annie fights with the updates on her computer after re-booting -- haven't we all been there?  She joins the duo just in time to allow Eric to say he was incorrect about the Brewing Market's opening date in Longmont.  It opened back in 1999! Guess Eric owes Annie $5 for losing that bet.  Other tidbits include a choice between a bowl cut and mullet, Heil Valley Ranch re-opening, Friday night concerts and First Wednesday happy hours.  Lots of technical mayhem here on today's SideDish.

Spanish Immersion and a Little Bit of Rick Steves11 May 202200:45:56

Annie and Eric are without Brady (he's the funny one) this week so they resort to talking about lots of stuff -Rick Steves, travel, honey and gardening.  Thank goodness they are joined by Ethel Lazarte Gonzales who discusses her company, Peruvian Immersion.  Ethel tells us about how her father's values played an integral role in showing others her passion for Peru and its culture.  This Spanish immersion program not only helps those learn the language but is a bridge to understanding, compassion, and culture sharing. Peruvian Immersion received a top prize from EforAll at a recent pitch contest.

Mr Money Mustache on Longmont20 Apr 202200:56:29

The trio is joined by Pete Adeney who gives his perspective on Longmont, downtown noise, bicycling, thrift, and excessive car washing.

More about Pete from his Wikipedia page
Adeney retired from his job as a software engineer in 2005 at age 30 by spending only a small percentage of his annual salary and consistently investing the remainder, primarily in stock market index funds. Adeney lives in Longmont, Colorado, and contends that most middle-class individuals can and should spend less money and own fewer physical possessions. He argues that by doing this, they can live with increased financial freedom and happiness, reducing their environmental footprint in the process. He has described the typical middle-class lifestyle as "an exploding volcano of wastefulness," particularly citing the overuse of and overspending on new cars as an example.

In the final moments of the show the gang discusses what's needed downtown  and discuss some suggestions from listener Nicholas.

Longmont Locals: Nikki Hughes/David Gunsallus (& Korben, too) of SandΨ’s Coffee and Tea 20 Mar 202500:43:00

So there’s a new coffee place up on Mountain View near Hover, Sandy’s (SandΨ’s). Some people call it “cute” or “vibey,” others call it “magical,” or “witchy.” (OK, those last two descriptions came from the owners, David and Nikki). After talking with them, I’d use the words “thoughtfully eclectic.” Listen to the show, and check the place out. Then, write to tell us your words for the place.

In addition to SandΨ’s, they also talk about renovating a duplex, owning part of a canning operation, and raising a son… all at the same time.

Salute the SideDishers08 Sep 202100:36:31

Sorry to our listeners to this late drop of our weekly podcast.  Brady and Eric catch up on happenings in the restaurant scene in Longmont.  Tiger and Wife are now at the Times Collective building and offering curb side pickup.  Farow restaurant is getting close to opening.   There's a great auction of goods from the Ralph's Castle gas station.  Check it out at Pacific Auction.

Finally, the guys wonder (actually Eric wonders more) what to name listeners of the podcast.  Let us know your name for our loyal listeners.  SideDishers? Sidelisteners?
