Many of the musicians had grave misgivings upon its release. They were under the assumption these were demo-quality recordings. As a result, the artists disowned the project and the album sold poorly. It also seriously damaged Sutch's reputation with the musicians involved. "I just went down to have a laugh, playing some old rock 'n' roll, a bit of a send-up. The whole joke sort of reversed itself and became ugly," Jimmy Page said of the record.
A reviewer in Rolling Stone called Sutch "absolutely terrible" and lamented that the celebrated musicians involved were made to sound "like a fouled parody of themselves". - Wikipedia

#6 | Dave brings in a highly influential electronic album FROM 1983, THE CRACKDOWN by English group CABARET VOLTAIRE
Dave brings in THE CRACKDOWN by CARBARET VOLTAIRE, and English electronic group that made really cool and experimental electronic music and were a very early pioneer in ELECTRONIC, DANCE, INDUSTRIAL, POST-PUNK, ACID HOUSE, & TECHNO. Additionally, we discuss how it features some parallels to some of the emerging hip-hop artists coming up across the pond at the same time, that we assume is coincidental.
This album was released in 1983 and is the first album that followed CHRIS WATSON's departure from the group, which results in an album that was somewhat more conventional that their past released, but still cold, disturbing, and alienating.

EP5 | MOLLY HATCHET in all but name, any heavy rock fan needs to hear this album. Southern Rock sleeper DANNY JOE BROWN and the DANNY JOE BROWN BAND, SELF TITLED 1981
This album I had heard about but was never really able to listen to because I couldn't find a CD copy at the time. As a MOLLY HATCHET fan I was very interested in hearing this album, but I wasn't expecting much but instead I got the best MOLLY HATCHET album that MOLLY HATCHET didn't make. Join us as I show Dave and give him his first full South Rock album experience.
Danny Joe Brown and the Danny Joe Brown Band is the only studio album by American Southern rock band The Danny Joe Brown Band, released in 1981. The track "Edge of Sundown" peaked at No. 12 on US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, on July 4, 1981.
The first line-up of the band, besides Danny Joe Brown, consisted of Bobby Ingram (guitar/slide guitar/vocals), Kenny McVay (guitar), Steve Wheeler (guitar/s

Dave brings in the 1977 UK version of THE CLASH by THE CLASH and enjoyment is had. While we discuss what we like about the album, we also discuss funny stories involving drummer TERRY CHIMES aka TORY CRIMES' brief stint in BLACK SABBATH during their controversial visit to apartheid South Africa, along with the story of LEMMY KILMISTER of MOTORHEAD who didn't care for the band.

EP3: Steve brings ex-IRON MAIDEN singer PAUL DI’ANNO’s 1984 Bon Jovi-esque soft rock album and we giggle at some of the silly songwriting
In 1984 ex-IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno embarked on a brief, interesting, and cheesy keyboard laden solo project that resulted in an eponymous self titled album and a live VHS. We examine this odd anamoly of Paul Di'Anno's career together.
Di’Anno is the 1984 self-titled album of the band of the same name. The lead singer Paul Di'Anno had been the frontman of the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden for three years, before being dismissed for his erratic behaviour. The band bearing his name and playing very commercial heavy rock was his first and short-lived solo project
This album was actually released in Japan first with strange album title Two Swimmers & a Bag of Jocki

EP2: Dave shows Steve TALKING HEAD's then career-spanning 1982 double live album, THE NAME OF THIS BAND IS TALKING HEADS
Dave decides to go right into the arty 2 album live album set & brings in The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads by Talking Heads. This 1982 live album features a diverse showing of genres that include new wave, art punk, and funk. Each side features a different era of the band, and we believe serves as a decent introduction for new fans.

Pere Ubu: The Modern Dance (1978), Dave shows his metalhead & new age bandmates this experimental, arty album of weird post-punk tunes
Dave sits down his Lucid Fugue bandmates Steve & Dan to show them an album that seriously influenced the playing and songwriting he brings into the group.
The Modern Dance is the debut album by American post-punk, art rock band Pere Ubu. It was released in January 1978 by record label Blank.
Their debut album, The Modern Dance (1978), sold poorly, but has proven influential.[11] Musicians of many types, including progressive rock, punk rock, post punk and new wave, were influenced by the dark, abstract record. With the song "Sentimental Journey," the debut also introduced the practice of re-appropriating titles from well-known popular songs: Pere Ubu's "Sentimental Journey" has no obvious relation to the Doris Dayhit song of the same name; "Drinking Wine Spodyody" has no apparent connection to the Sticks McGhee song (later revived by Jerry Lee Lewis).

The art of knotting, Steve shows two guys who know nothing about SLIPKNOT their first demo released in 1996, MATE. FEED. KILL. REPEAT. which features not only death metal and nu metal, but also jazz and funk influences
This is Slipknot's technically first album, now considered a demo by the band, that does NOT feature Corey Taylor, Mick Thompson, or Jim Root, and the only member of the band that remains is percussionist Clown aka Shawn Chahan. This album does feature the same rhythm section that consisted of Joey Jordison & Paul Gray (R.I.P.) and features OG vocalist Anders Colsefni. Also on guitar is Donnie Steele, who went on to fill in on bass in their later years, and Josh "Gnar" Brainard who recorded a bulk of their first major label release before departing the band.
Listen along with us as I show my bandmates, two non-Slipknot fans who are more into punk & post-punk and not so much heavy metal and their reactions to the jazz, funk, and hip hop influences on this album
Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. is the first album recorded by American heavy metal band Slipknot, and their only release with original lead vocalist Anders Colsefni. The album was limited to 1,000 copies, with distribution beginning on October 31, 1996. The band sold the last 386 units through ‑ismist Recordings in 1997. The album has become sought after by fans since Slipknot's rise to fame, and original copies have sold for up to $1,000.
Despite originally being deemed Slipknot's debut album, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. was later considered a demo by the band, The record was recorded in Des Moines, Iowa over a period of four months and features many musical influences including funk, jazz, and disco which are not apparent in later material. Many of the lyrics are inspired by the role-playing game Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

We boogie and we woogie to ELF by ELF (1972), the band that got the late, great RONNIE JAMES DIO discovered by RITCHIE BLACKMORE and started RAINBOW!

Elf was an American rock band founded in 1967 by singer and bassist Ronnie James Dio, keyboardist Doug Thaler, drummer Gary Driscoll, and guitarists Nick Pantas, and David Feinstein (Dio's cousin). The band was originally called the Electric Elves, but was shortened to the Elves in 1968 and finally Elf in 1972. Elf disbanded in 1975 after recording three albums and after most of the lineup had been absorbed into the newly formed Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. -Wikipedia
Elf is the first studio album by Ronnie James Dio's blues rock band called Elf. Produced by Ian Paice and Roger Glover of Deep Purple, the record was released in 1972.
On this album, Dio is credited by his birth name, Ronald Padavona. Though Dio had used "Padavona" for songwriting credits on earlier singles, Dio explained in an interview in 1994 that he used his birth name on this album as a tribute to his parents so that they could see their family name on an album at least once.
After this album, Steve Edwards replaced David Feinstein on guitar, and Craig Gruber took over bass duties, leaving Dio solely as the lead singer. This future lineup, minus Edwards, became the first incarnation of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow when guitarist Ritchie Blackmore formed it after leaving Deep Purple. -Wikipedia

12 | A rocker guy & a metal guy hear the album with ROCK LOBSTER on it for the first time, we listen to THE B-52'S by THE B-52'S!
The B-52's is the debut album by American New wave band the B-52's. The kitschy lyrics and mood, and the hook-laden harmonies helped establish a fanbase for the band, who went on to release several chart-topping singles. The album cover was designed by Tony Wright.
The B-52's peaked at number 59 on the Billboard 200, and "Rock Lobster" reached number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2003, the television network VH1 named The B-52's the 99th greatest album of all time. Shortly before his death, John Lennon said he enjoyed the album. - Wikipedia Steve's Website

Shock Tactics is the third studio album by British heavy metal band Samson, released in 1981. It was vocalist Bruce Dickinson's final album with the band before joining Iron Maiden (who were coincidentally recording Killers, their last album with Paul Di'Anno, in the same studio at the same time as Samson) -Wikipedia

TEN: Dave & Andrew show metal dude Steve SPARKS | No. 1 in Heaven, a DISCO album produced by GIORGIO MORODER
Dave and Andrew show metal dude Steve SPARKS | No. 1 in Heaven, a DISCO, ROCK, ELECTRONICA, SYNTH-POP album released in 1979 and produced by legendary electronic producer GIORGIO MORODER.
Nº 1 in Heaven is the eighth studio album by American rock band Sparks. Recorded with Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder, the album marked a change of musical direction for the group and became influential on later synth-pop bands.[citation needed]
Released in March 1979 by Virgin Records (with initial copies on colored vinyl) and later licensed to Elektra Records in the US, Nº 1 in Heaven renewed interest in the band after disappointing sales of the preceding albums Big Beat (1976) and Introducing Sparks (1977). It is the band's only album on Elektra, the fourth label that the band was signed to in the US. - Wikipedia
