"This is the story of the hare who lost his spectacles" this week our guest Dan brings in an album that is disliked by the band that created it! We're looking at A PASSION PLAY (1973) by English prog rock group JETHRO TULL! 25 Jun 202601:41:36

Check out Dan's project October Owl

A Passion Play is the sixth studio album by British progressive rock band Jethro Tull, released in July 1973 on Chrysalis Records.

Following in the same style as the band's previous album Thick as a Brick (1972), A Passion Play is a concept album comprising individual songs arranged into a single continuous piece of music (which was split into two parts across the original vinyl release's two sides). The album's concept follows the spiritual journey of a recently deceased man in the afterlife, exploring themes of morality, religion and good and evil. The album's accompanying tour was considered the high water mark of Jethro Tull's elaborate stage productions, involving a full performance of the album accompanied by physical props, sketches and projected video.[3]

A Passion Play was negatively received by critics upon its initial release. However the album was a commercial success, becoming Jethro Tull's second number one album in the United States. The album has since received a more positive critical reassessment, and has become a cult favorite among some fans of the band.

"Men of good fortune often cause empires to fall, while men of poor beginnings often can't do anything at all" this week Sean brings in an album with a very sad story. We're looking at BERLIN (1973) by LOU REED18 Jun 202601:38:06

Send us Fan Mail

Berlin is the third solo studio album by American rock musician Lou Reed, released in October 1973 by RCA Records. A concept album, Berlin tells the story of a couple's struggle with abuse and drug addiction. Initially, critical reception was mixed but appraisals of the album have warmed over the years: in 1973 Rolling Stone declared the album "a disaster", but by 2012 the album was ranked No. 344 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

"In the end you will submit, it's got to hurt you a little bit." this week Dave brings in LOW-LIFE (1985) by English post-punk group NEW ORDER! Joining us is JACOB DUNCAN!09 Apr 202601:34:37

Send us Fan Mail

Low-Life is the third studio album by English rock band New Order, released on 13 May 1985 by Factory Records. It is considered to be among the band's strongest work, displaying the moment they completed their transformation from post-punk to dance-rock. The album shows New Order's increased incorporation of synthesisers and samplers, while still preserving the rock elements of their earlier work. The original Factory CD issues of the album were mastered with pre-emphasis.

The songs on this album formed the basis of the band's live concert video Pumped Full of Drugs, filmed in Tokyo shortly before the album's release. The music video for "The Perfect Kiss" was directed by Jonathan Demme.

Heaven and Hell is the ninth studio album by the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released on 18 April 1980. It is the first Black Sabbath album to feature vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who replaced original vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in 1979.

Produced by Martin Birch, the album was a commercial success, particularly in the United States, where it reached number 28 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum for one million sales.[3] In the UK, it sold well enough to be certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry in April 1982.

"Bad, bad, bad boys and dangerous girls." this week Sean's wife brings in an album from HEART! BAD ANIMALS (1987)27 Mar 202601:31:44

Send us Fan Mail

Bad Animals is the ninth studio album by American rock band Heart, released on May 15, 1987, by Capitol Records.[6] A continuation of the mainstream hard rock style the band adopted for its 1985 self-titled release, it enjoyed similar commercial success, peaking at number two on the US Billboard 200 in August 1987.

The album features a few cover songs: "Alone" was originally recorded by the duo i-Ten on their 1983 album Taking a Cold Look, while "Wait for an Answer" was originally recorded by Dalbello on her 1984 album Whomanfoursays.

The album's title refers to the band members themselves: they would call themselves the bad animals due to the way they looked in hotel lobbies, disheveled with sunglasses, exhausted from touring.[9]

"Check to see that nobody is escaping to Desolation Row" this week Sean brings in a classic BOB DYLAN album HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED (1965) 20 Mar 202601:49:48

Send us Fan Mail

Highway 61 Revisited is the sixth studio album by the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on August 30, 1965, by Columbia Records. Dylan continued the musical approach of his previous album Bringing It All Back Home (1965), using rock musicians as his backing band on every track of the album in a further departure from his primarily acoustic folk sound, except for the closing track, the 11-minute ballad"Desolation Row". Critics have focused on the innovative way Dylan combined driving, blues-based music with the subtlety of poetry to create songs that captured the political and cultural climate of contemporary America. Author Michael Gray argued that, in an important sense, the 1960s "started" with this album.[2]

Mudcrutch is the first studio album by American rock band Mudcrutch, released on April 29, 2008. The album was recorded during a two-week period in August 2007. Mudcrutch had originally been formed in 1970; the band recorded several demos and singles but never released a full album. Mudcrutch was disbanded by the record company in 1975 and did not play together again until recording this album 32 years later. After the initial break-up, band members Tom Petty, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench went on to form Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

"Let's get together build a neutron bomb!" this week's guest Pete brings in SELF ENTITLED (2012) by skate punk band NOFX26 Feb 202602:01:54

Send us Fan Mail

Self Entitled is the twelfth studio album by the American punk rock band NOFX. It was released on September 11, 2012 through Fat Wreck Chords.

The album took more than a year to materialize. Vocalist and bassist Fat Mike revealed to The Daily Times in January 2011 that a follow-up to Coaster was in production, explaining "There are some really good songs on Coaster, but after having written 300 songs, I feel lucky I came up with them. That's why there are songs on there about Iron Maiden and Tegan and Sara. I'm reaching, man. Sometimes I grab stuff just to grab stuff, and I'm going in a lot of different directions."[6] In December of that year, Fat Mike revealed to Phoenix New Times that he had begun work on a new NOFX album and a soundtrack to a "fetish film" called Rubber Bordello.

"We've been through mass destruction once, but once was not enough" this week Sean brings in ZEN ARCADE (1984) by Minnesota hardcore punk band HÜSKER DÜ18 Feb 202601:40:07

Send us Fan Mail

The cold open was previously aired during the Pixies Surfer Rosa rerun since I thought it was topical, and now again since it bled into this episode's introduction. In case anyone was confused!

Zen Arcade is the second studio album by American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in July 1984 on SST Records. Originally released as a double album on two vinyl LPs, Zen Arcade tells the story of a young boy who runs away from an unfulfilling home life, only to find the world outside is even worse.[7] Zen Arcade and subsequent Hüsker Dü albums were instrumental in the creation of the alternative rock genre,[8][9]and it is considered by some to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time.

Hüsker Dü had gained notice in the American indie music scene of the early 1980s as a fast, aggressive hardcore punk band. They were the first non-West Coast group signed to the California independent record label SST Records, which at the time specialized in releases by hardcore bands, most notably Black Flag. However, the trio's music was becoming more melodic and nuanced with each album

"They're glad to be your friend, they hate the public they defend, they call the shots from start to end, shots from start to end" this week we're looking at STRAWBERRIES (1982) by English goth band THE DAMNED11 Feb 202601:08:15

Send us Fan Mail

Strawberries is the fifth studio album by the English rock band the Damned. It was released in October 1982 by record label Bronze. Limited editions included a strawberry-scented lyric insert. The album reached No. 15 in the UK charts,[7] the band's first to reach the Top 20.[8]

The record was released as the Damned were enjoying a higher public profile, thanks to the solo success of Captain Sensible. Sensible performed lead vocals on "Life Goes On" and "Don't Bother Me". He also introduced new instruments to the band, including sitar, and cello played by his then-girlfriend, Rachael Bor of the pop group Dolly Mixture.

While Strawberries was generally praised for its positive, upbeat melodies, the album marked a time of conflict and division within the band. During the recording, bassist Paul Gray fought with drummer Rat Scabies over management and songwriting responsibilities.[9]

Send us Fan Mail

Bee Thousand is the seventh album by American indie rock band Guided by Voices, released on June 21, 1994, on Scat Records. After its release the band became one of the more prominent groups associated with the "lo-fi" genre, a movement defined by the relatively low fidelity of audio releases. Musically, the album draws inspiration from British Invasion-era rock music and punk rock. Following the release of Bee Thousand, the band began to attract interest from other record labels, eventually signing with Matador for their next album.

"We're all in a melting ship, heading for planet Venus" this week our good friend Clayton brings in a live record from Zamrock band WITCH (We Intend To Cause Havoc)!28 Jan 202601:33:21

I wasn't able to find this album for streaming anywhere so I compiled the studio versions of these songs into this playlist. If you'd like to pick this one up for yourself, check out Discogs!

Witch (often stylized as WITCH or W.I.T.C.H.) are a Zamrock band formed in the 1970s. Widely seen as the most popular Zambian band of the 1970s, WITCH (a backronym for "We Intend To Cause Havoc"), was headed by lead vocalist Emanuel "Jagari" Chanda. The band formed during Zambia's post-independence golden days, but by the late 1970s, economic collapse and increasing government authoritarianism saw WITCH, like most Zamrock bands, fading away.[1] The band was revived in 2012 after reissues of their records became popular abroad.

The Velvet Underground & Nico is the debut studio album by the American rock band the Velvet Underground and the German singer Nico, released by Verve Records in March 1967. The album was recorded in 1966 on Ludlow Street, New York while the band were featured on Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable tour. Warhol, who designed the album's record sleeve, served as co-producer alongside Tom Wilson

The Velvet Underground & Nico features elements of avant-garde music incorporated into brash, minimal and groove-driven rock music. Lead singer and songwriter Lou Reed delivers explicit lyrics spanning themes of drug abuse, prostitution, sadomasochism and urban life. Due to its abrasive, unconventional sound and controversial lyrical content, the album underperformed commercially and polarized critics upon release. Various record stores banned the album, many radio stations refused to play it, and magazines refused to carry advertisements for it.

SEASON 3 DOUBLE FEATURE SPECTACULAR! TONIGHT WE'RE GONNA ROCK YOU TONIGHT! This week we're taking a look at the movie and soundtrack for THIS IS SPINAL TAP! (1984) 07 Jan 202601:59:18

Send us Fan Mail

In memory of Rob and Michele Reiner, rest in peace

This Is Spinal Tap is a 1984 American mockumentary comedy film directed by Rob Reiner in his feature directorial debut. Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer play members of the fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap.[3][4]Reiner plays Martin "Marty" Di Bergi, a documentary filmmaker following the band's American tour.

The film satirizes the behavior and musical pretensions of rock bands and the hagiographic tendencies of rock documentaries such as The Song Remains the Same (1976) and The Last Waltz (1978), similarly to what All You Need Is Cash(1978) by the Rutles did for the Beatles.[5] Reiner, Guest, McKean, and Shearer wrote the screenplay, though most of the dialogue was improvised and dozens of hours were filmed.

"Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball!" This week we rerun a season 1 episode on THE PIXIES SURFER ROSA (1988), the first album Sean brought into the podcast [additional content recorded for the intro]22 Dec 202501:30:21

Send us Fan Mail

Surfer Rosa is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band Pixies, released in March 1988 on the British label 4AD.[5] It was produced by Steve Albini. Surfer Rosa contains many of the elements of Pixies' earlier output, including Spanish lyrics and references to Puerto Rico. It includes references to mutilation and voyeurism alongside experimental recording techniques and a distinctive drum sound.

As 4AD was an independent label, distribution in the United States was handled by British label Rough Trade Records; however, it failed to chart in either country. Only one single was released, a rerecorded version of "Gigantic", and reached number 93 on the UK Singles Chart. Surfer Rosa was rereleased in the US by Elektra Records in 1992, and in 2005 was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Surfer Rosa is often included on critics' lists of the best rock albums. Alternative rock artists including Billy Corgan and PJ Harvey have cited it as an inspiration; it was an influence on Nirvana's 1993 album In Utero, which Albini also produced.

"This is the number one song in heaven, Why are you hearing it now, you ask?" This week we are rerunning a Season 1 episode where we took a look at the synth pop group SPARKS, NO. 1 IN HEAVEN (1979) [new content recorded for intro!]09 Dec 202500:48:32

Nº 1 in Heaven is the eighth studio album by American pop and rock duo Sparks. Recorded with Italian disco record producer Giorgio Moroder, the album marked a change of musical direction for the group and became influential on later synth-popbands.

Released on March 1, 1979 by Virgin Records (with initial copies on colored vinyl) and later licensed to Elektra Records in the US, Nº 1 in Heaven renewed interest in the band after disappointing sales of their preceding studio albums Big Beat (1976) and Introducing Sparks (1977). It is the band's only album on Elektra, the fourth label that the band was signed to in the US.

"People never read the airwaves, Do we only feed the airwaves, Or stamp them out at street level?" between seasons we look at an EP from THOMAS DOLBY, BLINDED BY SCIENCE (1983), which features the single versions of songs from THE GOLDEN AGE OF WIRELESS05 Nov 202500:38:00

Send us Fan Mail

Blinded by Science is an EP by new wave/synthpop artist Thomas Dolby, comprising extended 12-inch single versions of songs from the 1982 album The Golden Age of Wireless. It was released in 1983.[2][3]

Four of the recordings had previously been released as two separate 12-inch remix singles in the UK: "She Blinded Me with Science" backed with "One of Our Submarines"; and "Windpower" backed with "Flying North". (These two singles were also released in 7-inch format, containing their shorter versions.) "Airwaves" is the full-length UK album version, since the US version of The Golden Age of Wirelesscontained the shorter UK single version.

Check out our review of the Mudcrutch album from 2008

Mudcrutch was an American rock band from Gainesville, Florida, whose sound touched on southern rock and country rock. They were first active in the 1970s and reformed in 2007, and are best known for being the band which launched Tom Petty to fame.[1][2]

Mudcrutch formed in Gainesville in 1970 and soon became a popular act across Florida. The band moved to Los Angeles in 1974 to attract the attention of a record company. Though they signed a contract with Shelter Records, they released only one poor-selling single before breaking up in 1975. The following year, former Mudcrutch members Petty, Mike Campbell, and Benmont Tench formed the core of a new band, the Heartbreakers.

"SPEEDING BACK TO MY BABY!" to keep the lights on between seasons join us as we dig up the episode from season one on ACE FREHLEY and his 1978 solo album released simultaneously with the other members of KISS. [20 mins of new content for the intro]15 Oct 202501:08:19

Send us Fan Mail

Update: Ace Frehley has passed away on October 16th, 2025 at the age of 74. RIP Ace, we didn't mean to dig this episode up the same week you passed.

Ace Frehley is the first solo album by American guitarist and former Kiss member Ace Frehley, released on September 18, 1978, by Casablanca Records.[1] It was one of four albums released by each separate Kiss member as a solo act, but yet still under the Kiss label, coming out alongside Peter Criss, Paul Stanley, and Gene Simmons.

Ace Frehley contains the cover hit single "New York Groove", which was originally written by Russ Ballard and recorded by Hello in 1975. The song would prove to be a major hit for Frehley and boosted sales for its parent album. The album would also prove to be the most successful of the four Kiss solo albums.

The album's cover art was created by Cicierega's wife, comic book artist Ming Doyle. The song "Sweet Bod" features a guitar solo by Dave Kitsberg of Time Lord rock group Time Crash. The album received generally positive reception and was largely successful, with the track "Touch-Tone Telephone" once being Lemon Demon's most streamed track with over 80 million streams on Spotify. Between seasons we take a look at an EP from San Diego hardcore punk band STRUGGLE, formerly known as PROLETARIAN STRUGGLE. The themes on this self titled EP from 1994 lead us to believe they have opinions about current events.01 Oct 202500:42:55

Side Two of this album is the EP we are reviewing today if you want to check it out here. https://struggle31g.bandcamp.com/album/one-settler-one-bullet

At the turn of a decade, 1990, aligned a group of angry, disenfranchised teenagers from San Diego who connected in that they all had something similar to say about the city around them– one afflicted with racism, consumerism, abuse, animal cruelty, sexism etc. (much like any other). The message, in essence, was to say “fuck all of these things”, and the result was some of the members’ first “official” forays with fast-paced, aggressive music in a hardcore band. Struggle (Initially called Proletariat Struggle, but later shortened due to the fact that it was a bit of a stretch to say that the members were all “working class” at that point in their young lives, or that the main focus was merely classism) would turn out to be the seed for what would later splinter off into various but equally important and beloved artistic avenues for the six members.

On their first album session musicians Ron Edgar played drums and Jim Gordon played drums, percussion, and piano. "Wir fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n auf der Autobahn!" for the penultimate episode of the season we take a record out of Steve's dad's collection in memorial, we're looking at a release from German electronic pioneers KRAFTWERK and their 1974 album AUTOBAHN16 Sep 202501:06:09

Send us Fan Mail

Autobahn is the fourth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released in November 1974 by Philips Records. The album marked several personnel changes in the band, which was initially a duo consisting of Florian Schneider and Ralf Hütter; later, the group added Klaus Röder on guitar and flute, and Wolfgang Flür on percussion. The album also completed the group's transition from the experimental krautrock style of their earlier work to an electronic pop sound consisting mostly of synthesizers and drum machines. Recording started at the group's own Kling Klangfacility, but was predominantly made at Conny Plank's studio. Autobahn also includes lyrics and a new look for the group that was suggested by Emil Schult, an associate of Schneider and Hütter.

"You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I Won't Back Down" in memorial to Steve's father who recently passed away, we are reviewing a cassette from his collection that was formative to his musical upbringing, FULL MOON FEVER (1989) by TOM PETTY08 Sep 202501:43:42

Send us Fan Mail

Full Moon Fever is the debut solo studio album by American musician Tom Petty, released on April 24, 1989, by MCA Records. It features contributions from members of his band the Heartbreakers, notably Mike Campbell, as well as Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison(who died prior to its release), and George Harrison, Petty's bandmates in the Traveling Wilburys.[3][2] The record showcases Petty exploring his musical roots with nods to his influences.[4] The songwriting primarily consists of collaborations between Petty and Lynne, who was also a producer on the album. MCA Records under Irving Azoff originally refused to issue the album, believing it did not contain any hits. Azoff resigned within a few months and, with new label management reviewing the album positively, they decided to release it.

Violent Femmes is the debut album by Violent Femmes. Mostly recorded in July 1982, the album was released by Slash Records on vinyl and on cassette in April 1983, and on CD in 1987 with two extra tracks, "Ugly" and "Gimme the Car".

Most of the songs on Violent Femmes and its follow-up were written when songwriter Gordon Gano was an 18-year-old high-school student in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[9]

The album was recorded at Castle Recording Studios in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in July 1982. It was self-funded before they had signed with their record label, Slash. Gano said, "It was a strange situation because we hadn't met anyone from Slash or been to Los Angeles when we signed with them. The good thing was because we recorded the album first, it was exactly the way we wanted. There was no executive influence."[10]

"Sprouting clumps of mushrooms like a world surreal, this dream won't ever, ever end, and time seems like it'll never begin" this week we look at a compilation from PERE UBU called Terminal Tower: An Archival Collection (1985)29 Jul 202501:46:54

Send us Fan Mail

Terminal Tower: An Archival Collection is a compilation album by American rockband Pere Ubu. Released in 1985, the album compiles several of the band's early singles and B-sides, including the Hearthan singles recorded with founder Peter Laughner that were initially compiled on the Datapanik in Year Zero EP, and continuing through later sides recorded with Mayo Thompson.

The original Rough Trade UK LP was fine, but the American Twin Tone LP and CD both played at slightly slow speed (about a half-tone flat) throughout, had the left and right channels reversed and suffered from generally poor sound compared to the UK LP or the US singles. Most of the compilation was properly remastered for the Datapanik in the Year Zero box set, and all subsequent individual reissues of the compilation have used that corrected master.

Unknown Pleasures is the debut studio album by the English rock band Joy Division. It was released on 15 June 1979 through Factory Records.[4] The album was recorded and mixed over three successive weekends at Stockport's Strawberry Studios in April 1979, with producer Martin Hannett contributing a number of unconventional recording techniques to the group's sound. The cover artwork was designed by artist Peter Saville, using a data plot of signals from a radio pulsar.[5] It is the only Joy Division album released during lead singer Ian Curtis's lifetime.

"DISTORTED FIGURES WALK THE STREETS, IT'S 1999!" we bring back Pete to experience this speed metal album that was sandwiched between two classics in their discography, MEGADETH, SO FAR... SO GOOD... SO WHAT! (1988)09 Jul 202501:18:28

So Far, So Good... So What! is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on January 19, 1988, by Capitol Records.[1] It was the band's only album recorded with drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young, both of whom were fired from the band in early 1989, several months after the completion of the album's world tour. So Far, So Good... So What! features music performed at fast tempos with technical ability; lyrically, frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine addresses a variety of topics, including nuclear holocaust and freedom of speech.

John, we're only podcasting AGAIN! Following up from last season, we bring back Colby to listen to a sequel compilation of DAVID BOWIE songs, CHANGESTWOBOWIE (1981)01 Jul 202501:12:56

Send us Fan Mail

Changestwobowie is a compilation album by English rock musician David Bowie, issued in November 1981 through RCA Records.[5] It is a companion volume to the 1976 compilation Changesonebowie, and its title and artwork follow the format of that album.

In addition to selected post-1976 singles, the album collected five songs from earlier in Bowie's career that had not appeared on Changesonebowie, including "Wild Is the Wind" from Station to Station, which was released as a single to promote the album, along with a newly filmed video for the track.[6] However, the album did not repeat the chart success of the earlier compilation, reaching No. 24[7] on the UK Album Chart and No. 68 in the United States.

Point Blank is the only studio album by heavy metal band Nailbomb, released on March 8, 1994, by Roadrunner Records. The side project was started by Max Cavalera and Alex Newport in the mid-1990s. Part of the first track, "Wasting Away", plays in the 1995 film To Die For.

The album cover is a photo of female Vietnamese civilian with a U.S. soldier's gun to her head, which Max Cavalera and Alex Newport retrieved from the Alternative Associated Press. Cavalera stated that they wanted to create a similar cover to Rage Against the Machine's self titled album, an image of the self immolation of Thích Quảng Đức. According to Cavalera, the woman in the cover lived after the photo was taken.[6]

System of a Down is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band System of a Down, released on June 30, 1998, by American Recordings and Columbia Records. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 2000. After the success of the band's following album, Toxicity (2001), System of a Down was certified platinum and has since gone double platinum.

The album is generally considered nu metal and alternative metal, both of which would become staples for the band. Lyrical themes throughout the album vary, with many songs following a theme of being anti-war, but also has topics of genocide, religion, and brainwashing

Throb Throb is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Naked Raygun, released on Homestead Records in 1985.[4] It was the first of the band's releases to feature the musicianship of John Haggerty whose guitar playing distinguished the band's sound during the 1980s. Quarterstick Records reissued the album in 1999, and added an early version of "Libido" as bonus material, which originally appeared on the Flammable Solid 7".

"Touched by the toil and plunged into his arm, cursed thru the night through eyes of alarm." this week Pete joins us and we take a look at LOVE IT TO DEATH (1971) by the ALICE COOPER band!14 May 202601:19:25

Send us Fan Mail

Love It to Death is the third studio album by American rock band Alice Cooper, released on March 9, 1971. It was the band's first commercially successful album and the first album that consolidated the band's aggressive hard-rocking sound, instead of the psychedelic and experimental rock style of their first two albums. The album's best-known track, "I'm Eighteen", was released as a single to test the band's commercial viability before the album was recorded.

The original album cover featured the singer Cooper posed with his thumb protruding so it appeared to be his penis; Warner Bros. soon replaced it with a censored version. Ezrin and the Coopers continued to work together for a string of hit albums until the band's breakup in 1974. The album has come to be seen as a foundational influence on hard rock, punk, and heavy metal; several tracks have become live Alice Cooper standards and are frequently covered by other bands.

"Yesterday, seems a lifetime now." we bring back Sean and Clayton to finish Volume 2 of DEGREDATION TRIP (2002) by JERRY CANTRELL. Join us as we ponder if ROADRUNNER was correct in initially releasing this as a single disc.13 May 202501:18:31

Send us Fan Mail

Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2 is a double album by Jerry Cantrell, released on November 26, 2002, through Roadrunner Records.[1] It is an expanded limited edition of Cantrell's Degradation Trip album, which was released five months earlier. All the songs were written long prior to the first release of Degradation Trip.[7] The title was taken from the song "Solitude", the fifth track from the album.[8] Roadrunner Records, uneasy toward the idea of a double album release, made Cantrell condense it,[9] but promised to eventually release all of his material.[7]

Spirit Phone is the seventh studio album by Lemon Demon, a musical project created by American musician Neil Cicierega. The album was released digitally through Bandcamp on February 29, 2016, marking his first full-length album in eight years. All tracks were written, performed, and recorded by Neil Cicierega.

On July 10, 2018, independent label Needlejuice Records announced vinyl, CD, and cassette releases of Spirit Phone.

The track order of the expanded version, which differs from the first, is also presented in Cantrell's originally planned order.[10] Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin and then-Ozzy Osbourne/Black Label Society bassist Robert Trujillo contributed to Degradation Trip,[8] and would tour with Cantrell in support of it in 2001, before the album was released.

"Your alter-ego is a moron!" today Jake Duncan joins us and we take a look at a live album from PUBLIC IMAGE LTD., PARIS AU PRINTEMPS (1980) featuring vocals from former SEX PISTOLS frontman and butter salesman JOHN LYDON22 Apr 202502:02:30

Send us Fan Mail

Paris au Printemps is a live album recorded by Public Image Ltd (given as 'Image Publique S.A.' on the cover) in 1980 on two consecutive dates in January in Paris, and released in November the same year. The title of the album is French for 'Paris in the Spring', with French names also given to the band itself and songs in the track listing. It is notable as the band's last full-length release featuring founding bass player Jah Wobble, as well as the Paris concerts being drummer Martin Atkins' first gigs with Public Image Ltd. The album reached number 61 on the UK album charts.

John Lydon has stressed that the album was made and submitted to Virgin Records to cover the band's expenses for the Metal Box album. During a BBC radio interview in 1992 he said:

We had to do that to finance the making of Metal Box. Because money was very, very tight. I did explain that in every interview I ever did. Don't buy this live record, because it's not very good.[5]
