[SGC-39] Hire A Virtual Assistant To Unlock Peaceful Productivity with Guest Anne Rajoo21 Mar 202400:35:49

Anne Rajoo lives in an idyllic island setting in the Indian Ocean. But business has not always been so carefree for this multi-talented, multi-skilled, multi-passionate, entrepreneur mom.

Anne turned things around for her peace of mind and productivity after realizing she needed to get help--she couldn't do it all by herself without risking repeated burnout. Peaceful Productivity was how she has been able to do more, have more, and stress less.

One of Anne's business ventures grew out of this desire to get help for herself. Her virtual assistance agency now helps others find just the right people to help them complete the tasks on their to-do lists so they can focus more on their zone of genius; the income-producing areas of their business.

I talked with Anne about how coaches and content creators can get started with the process of hiring help. She also shared what she sees as some of the biggest mistakes to avoid in getting help for your business.

Don’t Miss Inside This Episode:
  • Discover Peaceful Productivity and how you, too, can achieve it! (Yes, you!)
  • The myth of the do-it-all virtual assistant.
  • The two questions you must ask yourself before you hire your first or next VA to save yourself time, stress, and misunderstandings.
  • The mind-shift you must make to get the best ROI with each new team member you add. Hint--it has to do with everyone working in their zone of genius.
  • Busting the myth that only you can do it all and why that mindset is actually harmful to your business.
  • And don't miss the golden nugget that Anne shares towards the end of the interview. Mic drop moment. 😉

[SGC-5] Mine Your Memory For Stories19 Oct 202200:25:06
You can connect more deeply through personal stories.

The human brain takes in information and makes sense of our world by thinking in terms of pictures and stories--much like a video storyboard. We then take that information--the sense that we make of our world and relate it to other humans by sharing our stories.

So it makes sense then, to connect more deeply with your right-fit client, use your own personal stories to show you're human, you're relatable, and not perfect! Just like your right-fit clients--they're not perfect either.

Remember your stories and collect them.

Everyone has stories--slice-of-life moments happen to everyone. Remembering them is sometimes the tricky part.

Start collecting your stories, so you've always got a story to tell in a piece of content you're working on--blog posts, podcasts, videos, speeches, social media.

You'll want to set the mood. A quiet, non-distracting environment will set the ambiance for you to remember past stories. Candles, incense, or essential oils, and the right kind of music for you can help set the mood too.

Choose some type of container to keep all your stories, so you can retrieve these remembered gems when you need a story for a piece of content you're creating.

A journal or notebook, software like Evernote or Google docs, or Google sheets will help keep your stories accessible. It doesn't matter what type of storage container you use; just use something so those stories can be saved for later.

6 Prompts to remember your stories.
  1. Think about school--all the years you were a student. Remember the good and the bad times when you were in school. What stories come up around school?
  2. Stories that have to do with relationships. Friends, relatives, roommates, camp friends. What are some stories you can remember about relationships?
  3. Scary moments make for great stories. When were you frightened by something or someone? What stories can you remember about this topic?
  4. Vacations often set the stage for great stories. The good, bad, and ugly vacation times you've had--what stories can you remember about those times?
  5. What are some life-changing moments that have a story or two (or more) attached? This type of story will help motivate and inspire others.
  6. Last but not least are stories that illustrate wins, losses, successes and failures. Tap into memories about stand-out moments when you won something or when you were disappointed because you missed out on winning.

More resources for you.

For even more ways to remember great stories in your past, read my blog post to find out how you can use your sense of smell to unlock more stories.

[SGC-4]The Importance of Showing Up Consistently With Your Message and Your Content with Deb Coman.12 Oct 202200:29:17
Tune In To This Episode To Discover These Answers:

• What's the biggest roadblock to getting your content consistently created and published?

• What's the one question you need to answer to find the fuel that will propel you to complete the things you think you can’t do in your business?

•. How can you use free content found on the internet to create some of your content? (Psst. . . . you don’t always have to be creating all the content yourself. )

My Favorite Takeaways From This Episode

Think of content as a conversation--whether it's a blog post, an email, or a social post--you're having a conversation with another person on the other end through your content. That person is out there struggling with an issue that you solve, that you have strategies for, and you need to get this content to them to help them get past their struggles.

Content is the vehicle that allows us to reach those people out there, wherever they are, and pull them into our world.

Message consistency—remain on brand with your message across all platforms and different media. If you’re sharing something that’s ‘off-brand’ connect the dots for your audience—give your audience context. Don’t leave it up to your readers or listeners to fill in the blanks.

Niche down to blow up with your content and your followers. By niching down, you'll actually be able to create more content and attract specific people to that content. Be a specialist instead of a generalist.

Don’t assume everyone sees all your content, especially social media. Keep reminding people what it is you do.

There is no perfect schedule for consistency. What works for your audience and what works for you is the best schedule to follow.

Instead of pivoting, be flexible and monitor and adjust.

[SGC-3] Bust Through Blocks and Kick-Start Your Creativity with Rosie Battista05 Oct 202200:26:30
What do you do when your creativity battery is running low?

Some may call it writer’s block, feeling stuck, in a rut, or any other number of terms.

Serial entrepreneur, Rosie Battista, The Queen of Card Decks, teaches people how to take their expertise--their content, and channel it into a physical product, like a deck of cards.

When your content is turned into a physical deck of cards, your clients can always have your wisdom and support at their fingertips—even when you can’t be there with them.

But what if you sometimes don’t feel creative?

And what if you don’t even believe you’re a creative person? Or believe the creative genes skipped over you?

Rosie believes we are all talented and creative—creativity is the divine looking to express through us. We are each creative with our own unique set of gifts.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

•          the biggest cause of creativity block

•          why a shower can be one of the best places to allow creativity to flourish (!)

•          what happens when you hold back from sharing your gifts, your creativity

•          creative ideas to get unstuck, tap into your creative zone, and unleash your creative genius—no matter what you’re creating

•          ways to capture your creative ideas when the creation sparks do hit and you don’t want to lose those genius thoughts

•          why it’s never too late to discover your gifts and talents

•          learn what expansive creativity is and discover a beautiful example

[SGC-2] What’s Your Content Creation Mindset? With Kelly McCausey29 Sep 202200:38:14

My guest today, Kelly McCausey, is a blogger, podcaster and business coach with a focus on Content Marketing and Community Building. She knows you want to publish content you're proud of for a community you love.

Kelly talks about mindset and content creation in today's episode.

Here are the highlights of this show:

• There is a plague that affects many content marketers--it's the plague that stops you from sharing your message because you believe that someone else has already [been there/done what you want to do/teach what you want to teach].

• There are people who need to hear from you--and only you are able to help them. When you hold back from sharing your gifts out into the world, you're leaving these people without a life preserver.

• Every negative thought about your content marketing can be flipped with some intentionality and mindfulness.

• Pretend like there are 1000 people already on your email list even if you're just starting out. You wouldn't want to disappoint 1000 people who are eagerly awaiting hearing from you. If there's at least 1 person on your email list, start building the habit of consistently sending an email to share your content.

• Content attracts and serves a community.

• The impact of comparison is up to you--you get to choose how something makes you feel. You can choose to feel puny by comparing yourself to someone else and what they've created or you can be inspired by that comparison to stretch and grow.

Kelly's favorite book: The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

[SGC-1] How To Leverage Everything Especially When It Comes To Content Marketing, With Nicole Dean29 Sep 202200:32:31
Nicole Dean Bio:

Author, Business Consultant / Mentor, and All Around Awesome Human, Nicole Dean educates and empowers entrepreneurs to create kick-ass businesses so they can live life with no regrets. And maybe even make the world a better place in the process.

Nicole helps online business owners like you LEVERAGE your business. LEVERAGE your life. And change the world.

Nicole believes . . .

"Leverage is everything!

Leverage your business for greater profits (with more freedom).

Leverage shortcuts that others have figured out for you.

Leverage your time. It's our most valuable resource.

Leverage your energy so you can have adventures and live your dream.

Leverage travel so you can see the world now, and not someday.

Leverage so you can do those things on your bucket list now and also when you’re older.

Life Is So Precious and Full of Miracles. Don’t Wait To Live It Like You Really Want To."

Notes from the show:

Definition of Leveraging: to use something to maximum advantage.

Spelunker—someone who loves exploring caves, especially as a hobby

Blog Takeover (sometimes called a blog tour): A blog takeover is a form of influencer marketing. A blog owner or brand lets someone temporarily "take over" and post content on the brand's blog. This person can be an influencer, a fellow team member, or an industry expert. They “take over” the account and post content they've created.

Blinknow.org—The non-profit organization helping orphaned and impoverished children in Nepal.

Nicole's Gift on her Coach Glue site--Done-for-you content for coaches.

If you're a coach, you can also get this FREE Coaches New Client Kit from Coach Glue.

Nicole's other websites:

nicoleonthenet.com Nicole's blog and coaching site.

contentdrafts.com Nicole's done-for-you content site for personal growth and development content.

My key takeaways from Nicole’s talk:

Work smarter, not harder.

Leverage your time—get more done at the same time. Do like tasks together.

Batching is a great way to leverage your time when you create content.

You can leverage your relationships to benefit everyone.

Know your peak creative times and energetic times of the day/month/year and adjust your expectations for those peak and trough times.

Leverage your skills—what are you best at?

Writing? Create a blog.

Speaking? Maybe a podcast is for you.

And if you’re great in front of the camera, create a video channel or do live streaming.

Leverage what you love.

There are a million ways to drive traffic. Do the thing you’re going to do. Not the thing someone tells you you have to do.

You don’t have to be an expert in everything.

An affiliate program may be a genius way to leverage your affiliates’ expert skills at a social media platform that you don’t have a desire to master.

You don’t get momentum by trying to be all over the place. Remember the car analogy—you can’t push 5 cars at once but you might be able to get one car to move with the same effort.

If you’ve got something that’s working, grow that first. Maybe add different or more strategies later.

Leverage a team to help you get unstuck and/or move you forward.

If you have a roadblock standing between you and cash, outsource it. If you’ve spent more than 3 minutes trying to Google how to...

About Mindi Trimble:

Described as “the bubble wrap of life & college coaching,” Mindi Trimble encourages college-bound students to POP with fun, stress-relieving ideas for navigating their educational journeys using the Majorly Determined method inside her multi-year Accepted Academy program.

She then makes sure her students don’t POP under pressure by coaching them through carefully chosen coursework and self-directed experiences—all culminating in personality-filled applications that get put in the ‘yes’ pile.

Besides increasing acceptance rates, working with Mindi has been known to yield college financial offers ranging from five to thirty times her students’ investment in her programs. When not singing her students’ praises, Mindi is flexing her Phi Beta Kappa-from-UC Berkeley skills at trivia nights, hiking with her family and German Sheagle, or using her formal opera training to make up silly versions of soprano arias.

[SGC 31] Quiz Lead Magnets for Coaches; A Case Study with Guest Celia Varghese25 Aug 202300:28:08

How does a Board-certified psychiatrist become a business mindset coach for Christian mompreneurs? Celia Varghese listened to that inner voice that whispered to her that she had finally found the place where she was called to serve.

And once she said yes to this special calling -- this niche where she felt right at home, she has consistently put together the pieces of her coaching business to serve a community of her just-right people.

One of the first things she quickly discovered is to serve her audience with resources that mompreneurs can consume in the nooks and crannies of their busy day. A compelling lead magnet quiz has been the answer to building Celia's email list. This tool serves her audience by helping them identify their specific entrepreneurial God-given gifts.

Listen to Episode 31 of The She's Got Content podcast where Celia describes her journey of finding her niche and developing her lead magnet quiz for her mompreneur audience.

Don’t Miss Inside This Episode:
  • Learn about the importance of listening to your inner voice and the impact it has on the success of your business. If there's a voice inside you that's telling you something's not right--listen to it. Likewise, that voice can tell you when you're on the path to your life's purpose.
  • Why coaches will want to consider creating a lead magnet quiz instead of the usual PDFs, eBooks, or worksheets. The conversion rate that Celia is experiencing with her quiz is well above the industry standard for other forms of lead magnets.
  • The most important thing you'll want to nail down with clarity before you begin creating your quiz. Once you have this information solidly down, the rest of the quiz-creating process falls into place.
  • Learn what type of quizzes perform the best for coaches. Also, discover how to easily segment your audience through your quiz results and how this helps you write more effective emails tailored to each specific segment.
