Her articles and essays have been published or are forthcoming in the Harvard Law Review, NYU Law Review, Northwestern Law Review, Georgetown Law Journal, Cornell Law Review Online, and Utah Law Review. Her first book, Policing Bodies: Law, Sex Work, and Desire in Johannesburg is forthcoming with Stanford University Press. Thusi earned a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in New York, and Ph.D. in Social Anthropology and Law & Society from University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Thusi's research is inextricably connected to her previous legal experience at organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union, Human Rights Watch, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and—most recently—The Opportunity Agenda, a social justice communication lab that collaborates to effect lasting policy and culture change. She has clerked for two federal judges, and for a justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, the country's highest court. Thusi's many acknowledgements have marked her as a rising star investigating the intersection of race, gender, and law. Thusi received a W.E.B. Dubois Fellowship at Harvard University, the Andrew W. Mellon Doctoral Fellowship in the Humanities, was named a Next Generation African Scholar by the Social Science Research Council, and most recently was selected as a Fulbright U.S. Global Scholar for 2020-2022. JORDAN BAYNE is an award-winning writer, director, actor and NFT film pioneer. Her career began acting with Golden Globe winner Martin Sheen in A STRANGER IN THE KINGDOM and includes Showtime's Poltergeist The Legacy, Law & Order and more. Her first role in the theatre landed her onstage with Golden Globe winner James Gandolfini and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei in the Naked Angels production of "Summerwinds". Bayne had an award nominated turn in the film UNDER HELLGATE BRIDGE with Dominick Chianesemand Vincent Pastore where one critic noted, "Jordan Bayne proves that true strength lies in vulnerability." Bayne's writing and directorial debut was the short film ARGO, starring Jordana Spiro [Ozark, Good Wife]. Being a mom, motherhood, and demystifying the stigma of being a working mom in Entertainment. Born and raised in Northern California, I started acting at the age of 8 years old in community theatre and then was accepted into a performing arts high school where my love and skills grew. I graduated from CSU Northridge with a BA in theatre, was introduced to voiceover, and joined an LA-based theatre company called independent Shakespeare Co. I've worked with a number of theatre companies in Los Angeles, but primarily the Independent Shakespeare Co. performing Free Shakespeare in Griffith Park for 7 years. Emily Lazar is a creative force who has achieved success in various artistic outlets. She is a multi- disciplinary artist fronting the rock band September Mourning which is based on a comic book series that she created and is published through Image/ Top Cow Comics. She designed the costuming and fashion of the world which she brings to life on stage… and has also recently extended the storyline through music/ animation/ art/ storytelling NFT's she released which are now sold out on Open Sea. She made history as being the first female metal/ rock musician to mint and sell an NFT online. The music tells an epic tale of "heartbreak, loss, pain, joy, love, redemption, but most of all, courage…" while the comic books chronicle the first two chapters of her story. September Mourning revives the concept of rock star meets superhero. If Marilyn Manson and X-Men's Storm had a kid, it would be September Mourning, who also cites influences as varied as Rob Zombie, Disturbed, and Muse. "For me, the project is a story, a theatrical art piece," Lazar explains. "Music is the backbone, but for this to work, it has to include the imagery and the narrative all symbiotically linked into the live performance, videos, art, nft's etc. Music taps into your innermost being. There's something very intimate and personal about it." The character of September Mourning is a human-reaper hybrid, who feels the need to give some human souls a second chance, and thus starts an epic battle between the living and the dead. To expound on this narrative, Lazar created, wrote and published the graphic novel (four books in one) entitled "September Mourning: The Complete Collection" through Image/ Top Cow Comics in partnership with iconic comic book artist Marc Silvestri, who is working on Batman comics and is owner of Top Cow Productions (Witchblade, The Darkness). and partner in Image Comics.Together, they pulled together the story of September Mourning in graphic form, to accompany, and enhance the musical message. Having performed at large festivals like Rock on the Range and Download Festival and shared the stage with acts like Rob Zombie, Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch among others, September Mourning has already built up an impressive fan base, which she calls her "Children of Fate," constantly encouraging them to have "the courage to embrace their passion… to allow yourself to follow your heart and not be a slave to your fears. To know that the only boundaries that exist in our lives are the ones we allow." Lazar's creative talents extend into visual art/ modeling, as well. She has been the face of many alternative fashion companies' campaigns over the years such as Manic Panic NYC, Draven Shoes, Leg Avenue and the Japanese line Komachi Dark Lolita to name a few.... often styling the campaigns herself.

Life brings Luke Wolf, a war veteran, back to his hometown, where his sister is, who has Down Syndrome. Things are different, or maybe it's just that now he's different. After years of running from his problems, Luke must face his monsters. MONSTERS WITHIN was written, directed, produced, and stars Devin Montgomery (Worm). The film was executive produced by Curtis Gardner and also stars Kendall Cavener (The Last Rodeo), Skeeta Jenkins (Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, Jakob's Wife, Satanic Panic), Daniella Montgomery, Brandon Stewart (Sovereign) who was also the DP, and Samuel French (Killers of the Flower Moon, Fear The Walking Dead) in his final starring role before his tragic death. French has won several Best Supporting Actor awards for his intense performance in MONSTERS WITHIN, and the film is dedicated to him. The character of "Elle," who is the main character's sister and the heart and soul of the movie, is played by Devin Montgomery's actual sister, Daniella Montgomery. She has performed at several events for the Down Syndrome Associations and Special Needs choir in Oklahoma. The story of the bond between a brother and sister, with one having special needs, being portrayed as authentically and real as possible, was very important to both Devin and Daniella Montgomery. This award-winning film has screened at numerous film festivals including WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival - WON BRONZE for BEST FIRST FEATURE FILM, Edinburgh Independent Film Festival - WON BEST LEAD ACTOR (Devin Montgomery), Stockholm City International Film Festival - WON BEST ACTOR (Devin Montgomery), Cowpokes International Film Festival - WON BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Samuel French), Bare Bones International Film Festival - WON AUDIENCE CHOICE FOR BEST FEATURE FILM and BEST ACTOR (Devin Montgomery), Red Dirt International Film Festival - WON BEST FEATURE FILM, Indie Vegas Film Festival - WON BEST HORROR/THRILLER FEATURE FILM, Massachusetts Independent Film Festival - awarded an OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FOR FIRST FEATURE FILM, among many other festivals. MONSTERS WITHIN has a running time of 100 minutes and will not be rated by the MPAA. Buffalo 8 will release the film on digital platforms on October 3, 2025.
