| Exploring Embodied Intimacy with Andre Lazarus | 12 mars 2026 | 00:47:02 | |
Exploring Embodied Intimacy: Why Pleasure, Safety, and Consent are Medicine with Andre Lazarus Sexual pleasure can be medicine, but only when woven with safety & consent. Unlike mainstream, porn-inspired sex, Embodied Intimacy is a somatic, relational, and healing practice, not a performance or technique. Present, connected, and embodied intimacy restores safety in the nervous system, dismantles shame around desire, and supports deeper connection in relationships. The conversation reframes sex as a form of medicine rooted in presence, consent, and self-awareness, rather than typical, goal-oriented sex.
Learn More About Andre Lazarus: Andre Lazarus is a Somatic Intimacy Guide and media-recognised voice on relationships, sexuality, and embodied connection. His career has followed an unconventional path: from serving in the U.S. Marines to guiding people through the complexities of intimacy and desire. That breadth of experience gives him a distinctive perspective on courage, vulnerability, and human connection. He is best known for his role on the UK television series Virgin Island, where he appeared as a professional surrogate partner helping participants confront intimacy challenges alongside licensed therapists. The program drew national Attention, and Andre’s presence on screen highlighted how intimacy work is not about performance but about safety, consent, and the courage to connect. Through his practice, Coming Closer, Andre supports individuals and couples across a wide range of needs: men facing midlife performance concerns, survivors of trauma seeking safety, long-term partners wanting to revive passion, and those exploring alternatives such as ethical non-monogamy. Equally, he works with couples committed to monogamy who want to strengthen trust and rediscover each other. His approach, rooted in the Somatica® Method of sex and intimacy coaching, emphasises learning through the body and replacing shame with curiosity. While Andre has also taught workshops introducing kink and alternative practices, he situates them within a broader conversation: how people of all backgrounds can embrace intimacy as part of their wellbeing. His message consistently comes back to honesty, communication, and self-awareness as the foundations for connection. 2025 Tantra Talks Throwback! If you followed spiritual communities online in 2025, you likely noticed this topic: Polyamory, Aubrey Marcus, and “Radical Nonmonogamy”, etc., etc. But are all these radical liberating concepts simply code words for “Poly f*ckery” i.e. f*ck around without consequence? | Abortion+Reproductive Justice:An Essential Guide for Resistance | 04 déc. 2025 | 01:03:42
It's not often we get the opportunity to speak to living legends! Join us for a conversation about Reproductive Justice with Loretta J Ross and Marlene Gerber -two prominent leaders in the social justice movement. ABORTION AND REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE: An Essential Guide for Resistance, by Marlene Gerber Fried and Loretta J. Ross, emphasizes that the right to have and raise children is as essential for reproductive choice as the right not to. This critical approach—originating in Black feminism—provides grounding for radical abortion advocacy. Calling on us to join in, the book highlights abortion stories from individuals and organizations who are putting this analysis into action on the front lines, in the United States and beyond. By linking abortion rights to broader social justice initiatives, including Black Lives Matter, immigrant and refugee rights, disability justice, and LGBTQ+ rights, the authors expand the conversation at a critical moment. In this episode of Sex Is Medicine, we discuss:
About Our Guests Marlene Gerber Fried is Professor Emerita of Philosophy at Hampshire College and cofounder of the National Network of Abortion Funds. Loretta J. Ross is a MacArthur Fellow, Associate Professor of Women and Gender at Smith 1111 FRANKLIN ST OAKLAND, CA 94607 • UCPRESS.EDU College, and cofounder of SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective. They are coauthors, with Jael Silliman and Elena Gutiérrez, of Undivided Rights: Women of Color Organize for Reproductive Justice. Abortion and Reproductive Justice: An Essential Guide for Resistance (University of California Press, 9/9/25). By weaving together personal stories, historical analysis, and movement strategy, they expand the conversation and show how abortion rights are deeply connected to racial, economic, LGBTQ+, and immigrant Justice. | Beyond The Clitoris: A Dissertation On Female Pleasure Zones | 27 nov. 2025 | 01:01:53
Beyond The Clitoris: A Dissertation On Female Pleasure Zones There is a concerning phenomenon in the field of sexology involving the emergence of a nearly militant insistence that the clitoris is the ONLY source of female orgasm. This viewpoint not only dismisses the lived experiences of millions of women but is also simply anatomically incorrect. While the clitoris and its surrounding structures are indeed extraordinary, they are not the only sources of orgasm. Orgasms can vary significantly and can originate from various parts of the body, the brain, and even the energy body. After over a decade of teaching people how to expand their orgasmic capacity, we've discovered that orgasms come in many variations, influenced by a broad range of factors—physical, psychological, emotional, intellectual, and energetic. In this episode of Sex Is Medicine, Devi and Alaina explore the many types of orgasmic pleasure that do not originate from the CUV complex, such as:

| The Perils of Compulsory Monogamy (And Why Polyamory Won't Fix This!) with Mel Cassidy | 06 nov. 2025 | 01:09:22 | |
The topic of polyamory seems to be everywhere these days. From articles in The Atlantic describing it as the ruling class's latest fad, to the controversy surrounding Aubrey Marcus and “radical monogamy” (essentially polygamy), polyamory is highly present in the media right now. But is polyamory really a new trend? Is it even new at all? Or is it a way of relating that predates colonialism and recalls a time when humans were less isolated and more communal? In this week’s episode of Sex Is Medicine, Devi and Alaina speak with somatic relationship coach Mel Cassidy about their new book, Radical Relating: A Queer and Polyamory-Informed Guide to Love Beyond the Myth of Monogamy Described as a provocative, trauma-informed guide to post-monogamy, this book helps readers build liberated relationships rooted in empowerment, equity, and authenticity. In this episode, we will: - Deconstruct myths and misrepresentations surrounding polyamory - Explore the difference between polyamory and polyfuckery - Learn how and why the nuclear family was created (and how it does NOT reflect our human history) - Uncover how and why the nuclear family model creates suffering for families and communities - Highlight toxic approaches to non-monogamy that perpetuate patriarchy and white supremacy culture - Understand the role of queerness in non-monogamy And so much more! | Can You Have Breast Orgasms? How and Why It's Possible.... | 30 oct. 2025 | 00:57:20
Is it possible for women to have orgasms from breast and/or nipple stimulation? The short answer is yes! And here's why... Studies have determined that there is, in fact, a neural link between the nipple and the clitoris. Stimulation of the nipples activates the same sensory area of the brain associated with the genitals. Stimulation of the nipples activates: Your Brain -Stimulating the nipples activates both the chest area and the genital sensory cortex in the brain. Your Hormones - Nipple stimulation also triggers the release of oxytocin, a hormone that can cause uterine contractions, which may contribute to sensations in the genital area. Your Pleasure - Research involving women who have undergone a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) suggests a direct neural link, as the genital sensory cortex is still activated during nipple stimulation, even without the uterus being involved. This neural connection provides a neurological basis for why nipple stimulation can enhance sexual arousal, lubrication, and orgasm for many women. | Cervical O's 101 - Your Questions Answered | 16 oct. 2025 | 01:01:40
Your cervix is PORTAL into ENLIGHTENMENT! In Tantric Buddhism, the cervix is the bottom end of the Uma Channel (aka Shushumna Nadi, aka Central Channel). In the genital reflexology system associated with Taoist sexual teachings, the cervix is the “heart point,” and stimulation of this zone can catalyze deep emotional release and opening. Your cervix is one of the few organs of the body to boast triple innervation, with the hypogastric, pelvic, and vagus nerves all contributing pressure-sensitive pathways to this 3rogenous zone. In fact, your cervix is even MORE densely innervated than your clitoris! Directly stimulating the cervix allows you to “hack” into the vagal pathway, inducing all the vagal benefits of increased immune system function, improved physical and emotional health, greater resilience to stressors and triggers, and deep feelings of relaxation and well-being. Your pleasure is a gateway to health, wealth, and longevity, and you DESERVE to know, understand, and explore this! In this episode of Sex Is Medicine Reboot, Devi and Alaina answer questions about pain and pleasure in the cervix. Find out the answers to:

| Coming Too Soon? Here's How To Last Longer... | 09 oct. 2025 | 01:02:34 | |
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a sexual issue that affects approximately 1 in 3 men aged 18 to 59 in North America. It occurs when ejaculation happens sooner than desired during sexual activity. PE is considered the most common sexual disorder among men and can lead to depression, low self-confidence, erectile dysfunction, and relationship problems. Conventional definitions describe premature ejaculation as a sexual dysfunction characterized by ejaculation that "always or nearly always occurs before or within 1 minute of penetration" and the inability to delay ejaculation in nearly all instances of intercourse. This often results in stress, frustration, and sometimes avoidance of sexual intimacy. Many men and their partners believe they have PE if they cannot last more than a few minutes, and we agree with this perspective! We define premature ejaculation as having little to no control over when or if one ejaculates. In short, if you consistently ejaculate before you want to, it becomes an issue for both you and your partner. Fortunately, PE is one of the more straightforward sexual dysfunctions to address, provided you understand the underlying causes and have effective methods to tackle it. This episode of Sex Is Medicine outlines:

| Tantra For Same Sex Couples | 18 sept. 2025 | 00:58:56 | |
Welcome back to Sex Is Medicine, your number #1 resource for holistic sex education. In this episode, Alaina and Devi draw on their combined 27 years of expertise to answer a listener's question: "Can you practice tantra as a same-sex couple?" The answer is "Of course!", and here are a few things to consider:
Authentic, lineage-based Tantra for same-sex couples can incorporate all of the same methods and practices as used for heterosexual couples. Same-sex couples can use meditation, yogic breathwork, communication, and pleasure methods to enrich, balance, and heal the energy and physical. For queer men, women, and non-binary folks, heart-centered tantric practices can help improve relationships by healing wounds inflicted by Patriarchy, allowing individuals to foster loving relationships with themselves, their partners, and their environment. | The Impact of Racism on BIPOC Mental Health with Chioma Janelle | 20 août 2021 | 00:51:53
Our ability to give, receive, and respond to pleasure is largely dictated by our sense of emotional and physical well-being. From a very basic physiological perspective, if you don’t feel safe – physically, emotionally, or psychologically – your sexual function simply doesn’t function. Or, certainly not as well as it could/should. There are a LOT of stressors in our Western lifestyle that can impact our sexual experience, many of which go unnoticed because they are so common and normalized. One ongoing and all pervasive stressor for POC that often gets overlooked is that of racism, and the impact of racism on the physical, mental, emotional, and sexual well-being of POC. Join Devi Ward Erickson and Mental health professional, Chioma Janelle, as they discuss the impact of racism on BIPOC mental health and how that can affect our sexual experience. Find out about: *How intergenerational trauma manifests and replicates itself. *The effects of colonization in fostering Trauma *How Trauma affects our nervous system, relationships and how we relate and connect to one another *Healing from “The superwoman syndrome” *The power of Black resilience *How POC ACTUALLY find healing vs what’s currently offered in the available systems of “healing” *How Black bodies are misdiagnosed due to racism and overwhelm *Using Black Feminist approach as a way of healing- using community and collective space, creativity, and PLEASURE Join us for this AASECT Award winning show. | How to Heal Body Shame and Feel More “Body-Love” | 02 juil. 2021 | 00:59:23
According to recent studies, approximately 91% of cis-gender women are unhappy with their bodies. I too have spent most of my life at war with my physical body, attempting to starve and “cleanse” it into an idealized concept of beauty that only 5% of the population represents. But all that has changed for me recently. I no longer feel a need to punish my body for not conforming to Hollywood’s standards of beauty. I no longer need to starve, cleanse, or raw food my body into submission. I have jiggles, and cellulite, and stretch marks, and a big, giant, juicy butt that doesn’t fit into a size 6 pair of jeans anymore, and for the first time in my life, I DON’T HATE MYSELF because of this. Now I look in the mirror and see beauty in the swells and curves. The ROUNDNESS of my belly, my hips, my thighs has become a thing to admire, as opposed to a source of self-recrimination and disgust. So, I wanted to talk about this new found inner peace and body acceptance. How did I go from feeling tortured by and hating my body, to feeling peace, ease, and body -love? Join me and my friend and colleague, Rosie Bitts as we discuss how to free yourself from the shackles of body shame that this society imposes upon us, and her upcoming book project “Body-Love”. We discuss: *The origins of body shame and how society conditions us for self-hatred *The role that trauma plays in body shame *How the “wellness” industry reinforces body shame *Healing your brain with diversity *How our partner’s influence body shame and acceptance * How 5 Element Tantra has helped heal our body shame Tune in to this AASECT award winning show!
