Mary Phillips is the owner of Phillips Window Workroom, a custom drapery and soft home furnishings workroom in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Mary has been in the industry for over 40 years, first starting with upholstery with her Sister-In-Law, creating relationships with clients and vendors and then going off on her own out of the house. In 2003, Mary found a location in Chadds Ford and moved out of the house and the rest has been history! Mary has three children with her husband, Mike, a sweet dog Ruby and a huge loving family that loves spending time together and going on vacations to the beach or hanging by the pool.    Callye is 26 years old and is Mary's daughter. She grew up in and out of the workroom. When Callye was 6, Mary moved out of the house. Through the years, Callye always appreciated that her Mom was able to come to all her sporting events, and could be there when she needed her since her Mom was her own boss. After going to West Chester University, and finishing right in the pandemic in May 2020, Callye didn't quite have a game plan. She spent a year and a half nannying before deciding to join the PWW team, and just celebrated three years with them. Callye enjoys the creative process, working with customers and designers and seeing their beautiful custom work come to life. Outside of the workroom, Callye coaches volleyball and still plays, (has a boyfriend), and loves spending time with family & friends and her three beautiful nephews! Jonathan Camp is from Canton, Ohio and for 21 years has worked at Ohio Workroom where he now manages nine employees.  While he can confidently rework any piece of furniture, his specialty is tufting.  A bench of his can be found in the Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens historic house museum in Akron, OH.  Other work has appeared in marketing materials for St. Frank Fabric and Wallpaper.  In his spare time he owns and manages a 300 acre lamb and purebred sheep farm.

Cathy Cuddington is the owner of Dogwood Designs, a wholesale workroom located in Apex,
North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh. Her earliest sewing memory is making clothes for her Barbie dolls. She moved on to sewing her clothes through high school, even learning some tailoring techniques.
Cathy spent her first career in the IT industry, during its infancy (i.e. card punch machines).
During those 26 years, she would occasionally help out her friends with various window treatment requests, usually following a pattern in the pattern books. One personal project (a slipcover) took her onto the internet to find a how-to video. That one event opened her eyes to
the possibilities of owning her own business in the custom soft furnishings marketplace.
Dogwood Designs was born as a 50th birthday gift to herself. She has attended available trade schools and conferences, eventually gaining enough experience and confidence to offer her services exclusively to interior designers. She's an active member of the Triangle chapter of the
WCAA.
Cathy lives with her husband of nearly 40 years. She has two grown sons, and one grandson.
She and Terry enjoy traveling (when they can) and taking rides in their little convertible when the weather is nice.

Born and raised in Marietta Ohio. Enjoyed making and creating as a kid and did a lot of cross stitch with her mom. Sewed a pair of shorts as a class project in 4th grade and didn't pick up sewing again until after college. As a social worker, in Cincinnati, creating became a great outlet so she took an upholstery class and learned the basics. Life had plans and her first daughter was born, a month early and only 4lbs. So most creative ventures took a back seat. 2 more daughters came along and then her mother-in-law decided as a break from mom life a sewing basics class could be fun. Once a week for 6 weeks Elizabeth got out and realized how much she loved sewing! Over the years she has made costumes for plays, altered prom dresses, wedding dresses, and dance costumes! For a brief stint even had a storefront for her alterations business. Life again threw a curveball and her husband got a job in Asheville North Carolina and they needed to move. In Asheville, she found out about workroom tech through a grandmother at her daughter's school and during covid, she took several online classes and found enjoyment in creating soft furnishings. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. As a professional member of the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA), she is active in the promotion of window treatment design and fabrication as a business. In 2007 she completed certification to become a Certified Workroom Professional and was also featured in the prestigious Window Covering Association of America (WCAA) 2007 Elegance Showcase. Her solid educational background and experience, coupled with her love for sewing and design, have given Lisa a unique view into the window of interior fashions. Peg Wagner owns and operates Above and Beyond Window Design out of her home, working with mostly designers. She fabricates window treatments, pillows, cushions, and roman shades, as well as sells hard treatments. Peg has a bachelor's degree in education with a major in Home Ec. (Back in the day when they called it that.) Sewing was in her background. In 2008, while working part-time in a design store she was introduced to CHF academy. It was near Charlotte NC and her next-door neighbors had just moved to Charlotte. Peg took the opportunity to go and take 3 classes while staying in the evening with her former neighbors. She was hooked from day one and her only regret is that she didn't know about this industry sooner. Peg has met the most amazing, dynamic, generous women at the CWC conferences and classes. Before that, she was a "stay-at-home" mom of 2, while helping with her husband's business as a sales rep in the ski and outdoor industry. His office was at home and he traveled to the states of MI, IN, and Ohio. Peg was able to manage the office while kids were in school and then take them to sporting practices and events when school was out. Peg and her husband live in Traverse City, MI and have 2 grown children and 6 grandchildren, 4 of which live one house away from us. Peg knows that is most grandparents' dream come true and does not take that for granted. In her free time, she likes to mountain bike, road bike, ski, and hike. Rachel and Bryan Short own and operate The Sewing Loft of Avon, a custom soft furnishings workroom located in Connecticut.  It is a full-service workroom serving both interior designers and homeowners.  Rachel has had a passion for sewing her entire life and made her first item in her sixth grade HomeEc class, a small football-shaped pillow.   She turned her passion into a business when she started The Sewing Loft in their home in July 2010 after spending most of her professional life as a paralegal at a major law firm and at a wind energy company.  Bryan came on board in 2013 after a career as a litigation attorney and both he and Rachel started working on growing The Sewing Loft full-time. Carol Dykhouse, owner of Creations by Carol, has been in business for 40 years. She started out doing custom sewing and alterations and bridal gowns.  When weddings were slow, she would do window treatments for friends. Her excellent work soon garnered other customers. After 5 years she exclusively did consulting and fabrication of window treatments and home decor. As her business grew, she became the go-to person for area designers to supply both hard and soft treatments.   Carol's workroom started out in a bedroom, using a 3x8 table and canned cherries for weights. Her current workroom encompasses the entire lower level, with 2 work tables and 4 commercial machines and 2 Bernina home machines, and other necessities.  One of her mantras is to put efficiency in everything she does.   Carol won 1st place in Top Treatments in 1993 for the WFCP.  That resulted in a full-page article in the Sunday Home Section of the Grand Rapids Press. They are custom fitting inspiration and design - one stitch at a time, since 1984. For the better part of the 38 years, they operated in commercial locations. Antoinette was born and raised in Cape Town South Africa. She studied at the University of Stellenbosch where she obtained an Honours Degree in Drama and Theatre Arts as well as a Teaching Diploma. Her 20+ year career in the Film and Television Industry gave her the opportunity to live and work in Africa, Europe, China, the USA and finally Canada where she settled with her family in 2000.  Sewing has always been her hobby. Antoinette remembers sewing her first apron under her mother's watchful eye at age three.
Sewing clothes for fellow students helped Antoinette pay her way through university. She began sewing home furnishings as soon as she moved into her first apartment.
Blinds, Drapes & Bedding began in 2001, it is an exclusive Window Treatment consulting service and design/production studio supplying primarily, but not exclusively, to the trade. Each and every item is sewn and constructed by Antoinette personally or under her supervision. With a reputation for doing precise and neat work paying special attention to detail, she takes pride in continually upgrading her knowledge of new developments in the Window Treatment industry and doing industry-directed Webinars throughout the year. She is a WFCP Specialist (Window Fashion Certified Professionals). After sewing for years as a hobby for herself and friends, she decided to officially open shop as Useful Stitches, LLC eleven years ago.  She sews mainly to the trade with some retail jobs.  Her husband of 38 years is her installer, accountant, and consultant.

Greer Woollcott lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with her partner Tobin.  She comes from a family of creative and skilled women where she learned she could make anything if she set her mind to it.  She studied fine arts and art history for 2 years at Concordia University and then changed programs and attended the Ontario College of Art and Design and pursued a degree in Environmental Design.  She started her career as a kitchen designer, went into commercial interior design then material sales for the design industry as a rep for architectural panels. Almost 20 years ago Leigh Anne was looking for fabric to reupholster her sofa.  She found fabrics that were sophisticated, but not environmentally friendly; or "green" (mostly recycled polyester – actually a poor green choice), but not stylish.  Even the fabrics claiming to be "organic" were processed with chemicals that were harmful to people and the planet - and many of those chemicals remain in the fabric.

Since Leigh couldn't find a company that was creating entirely safe but gorgeous  fabrics using organic or sustainable methods and using zero plastic (polyester, nylon, etc), she enlisted her sister, Patty, and together they formed Two Sisters Ecotextiles, to "change the way textiles are being made."

He caught the sewing bug from his great grandmother at a young age.

He moved to Richmond, VA on a whim in August of 1989 and earned a BFA in Fashion Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Directly after graduation, Jonathan taught in the Fashion Design department as an adjunct professor for 13 years.

He started his first workroom job in 1997, learned how to make various types of window treatments, cushions, pillows, and more;  since then, he has done freelance workroom client projects in his home for over 25 years.

Jonathan opened Unsprung Upholstery LLC in August 2019 and will continue this beautiful journey for the rest of his life!

Debbie DiFrancesco, who has been sewing since the age of 7, founded Creative Hands in 1990 to supplement the family income.  Initially, Debbie provided general sewing and bridal alteration services while working a second job as an assistant manager/Craft Department Manager at House of Fabrics/So-Fro Fabrics until 1991.  Two years later, Creative Hands transitioned from alterations to exclusively fabricating window treatments and selling hard treatments.  Soon after, in 1997, Debbie attended courses at the Professional Drapery Workroom School, later known as the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in Swannanoa, NC under Cheryl Strickland.  Since then, she has participated in the Custom Home Furnishings Conferences and International Window Coverings Expos as both an attendee and window treatment fabrication instructor.

With an extensive skill set Debbie has, over the years, moved Creative Hands from the attic of her home to a commercial building.  In 2009 she purchased a larger commercial building, which allowed for the expansion of the workroom and the transition from a Hunter Douglas Showcase Dealership to a Hunter Douglas Gallery.  Additionally, Debbie is a Certified Hunter Douglas consultant, a Hunter Douglas Certified Master Installer and the current President of the Western NY Chapter of WCAA.

She went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC after finishing high school. She was petrified to be going to school in the big city, but she got used to it and loved the whole atmosphere of being in the fashion world. Susan landed a job as an assistant designer in a children's wear firm in the garment center. She had no idea what her future held for her. Susan went on vacation to Bermuda and that is where she met my future husband. She got married and moved to Bermuda. When she got there thought "what am I supposed to do now – there weren't any jobs to be had in fashion design." Susan made all of her own clothes which included making the patterns. Years later she found myself working in an insurance company as a Facilities Administrator and I really missed being creative. A few years ago Susan found Workroom Tech online and thought it would be fun to take a few classes – something different. It took her a while before she actually decided to follow through with making pillows, cushions, and window treatments. Susan's knowledge of patternmaking has come in handy with drafting some of the window treatments. For now, she is working two jobs and will eventually have to make a decision on which one she wants to continue with.
