In her gripping memoir Reason to Sing, Kelita Haverland pulls back the curtain on shocking truths behind her vibrant public persona. Known for her country music hits and unforgettable comedic characters, Kelita's life has been a rollercoaster of heartbreak, resilience, and redemption. "It's taken me over twenty years to get this thing right," Kelita confesses. With raw honesty, she exposes scandalous family secrets and the emotional turmoil that shaped her life. From incest and suicideto drug addiction, betrayal, and the tragic loss of three siblings, Kelita's story is a testament to the power of survival. | Our Asian Voice - Response to the Rise of Anti-Asian Racism | 26 Apr 2021 | 01:05:50 | |
With the rise in verbal abuse, online harassment and physical attacks against Asian Canadians and Asian Americans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic .. our See Hear Love Team thought it was important for myself as a Filipino-Canadian and Host of this show, to use my voice and platform to speak up and against the anti-Asian racism that has been increasing this year. We also thought it would be important to listen to other Asian-Canadians share their truth and experiences and action steps.
Here are our special guests:
Alyssa Esparaz is Chinese-Filipino-Canadian and the daughter of immigrants to Canada who has spent much of her youth wrestling with, and more recently, embracing her Asian-Canadian identity.
Frances Kim is a second-generation Korean-Canadian born and currently lives in a multi-generational home shared with her husband, 2 young children, dad and step-mom.
Timothy Li-Hui Tang is a second-generation Chinese Canadian whose parents came as international students from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Rev. Lisa Pak is a second-generation Korean-Canadian, her parents are from Korea, immigrating in the late 1970s.
Dr. Merry C. Lin - Born in Taipei, Taiwan (both parents were also born there), immigrated to Canada when she was 1 ½ years old in 1967.
THIS webinar-turned-show is a moment TOGETHER TO LISTEN, LEARN, LEAN IN .. and to ACT.
TO HEAR OUR ASIAN VOICE.

| Deconstruction to Reconstruction | 19 Apr 2021 | 00:37:01 | |
Remember that moment in elementary school when you discovered that your teacher didn't live in the classroom? Or that the magical work of the tooth fairy was actually your mother's doing? Deconstruction is a part of life, learning and growing and asking why! But what happens when we deconstruct our faith? When we have doubts? What happens when we discover things about our lived reality and the world that doesn't fully coincide with the things we believed about God or faith?
Today one of our 'Takeover Melinda's Hosting Chair' Winners, Blessing Oluloto, will be discussing the complex subject of deconstruction. Guests Josh de Keijzer (theologian, lecturer) and Addison Bevere (author, speaker) will help us understand what deconstruction is and why it happens. Guest Eunice Slanwa will share her lived experience and personal story. Author A. J. Swoboda will explain why we might be adverse to deconstruction as Christians and what we can do as the body of Christ to support and move forward towards reconstruction.

| Part 2: Our Present Suffering & What It Means To Be A Resurrection People | 05 Apr 2021 | 00:39:19 | |
This week on See Hear Love, we conclude our series, 'Our Present Suffering & What It Means To Be A Resurrection People.'
In Part 1, we focused on Jesus's suffering and how our suffering identifies us as children of God and that we are more like Christ in our moments of suffering than we realize.
In Part 2, our panel of pastors (Elle Pyke, Chris Chase, Kaarina Hsieh and Jenn Burnett) focus on Jesus's resurrection and what it means to be a Resurrection People, a Resurrection Community in:
Our church
Our Leadership
In the marketplace and in our jobs
In our everyday decisions
As we confront injustice, inequality and racism
They also answer the question: "What is your encouragement to those that are struggling with believing and understanding the Easter story, Jesus' death and resurrection."
A powerful Holy Week and Easter Season Series and a much needed conversation today!
